The Garden is history.

Basketball ( both NBA and college ), hockey, boxing, wrestling, concerts and, of course, the circus  ( Ringling Brothers that is ).

I've been to a multitude of events here in my life - up close and in the cheap seats and have always had a fun time.  Whether it's cheering for Ewing back in the day or seeing the fake unicorn even more back in the day, I always left with a smile on my face.

I'm back in MSG, enjoying Metallica concert, sucking in the fume from people smoking weed......life is good.
It's been awhile since my last visit to MSG. This really is a nice arena. Considering that MSG is right in the middle of New York City, it really is pretty easy to get in and out of the arena.
I can't say that I'm a big fan of the teams that play here, but I'm a fan of the MSG:)

Kudos to host so many great college basketball and awesome concerts here. Don't really care for the hockey or NY Knicks.

However, I just think MSG needs an upgrade. I went to a game this past Friday and one of the seats is broken! Also, everything they sell inside is outrageously priced and not so tasty and you are not allowed to bring any food and drinks inside.  If you can charge $18 for  sandwich, you can repair a god damn chair.

Hey, it's OLD, for chrissakes.  It's the Gaaah-den!

Here for a Rangers game.  Wedged between a handful of rabid (and drunk) grandmas.  They f*cking LOVE the Rangers!  And, the LANGUAGE!!!   This is better than Attell!  (Sorry, D.)

Yet another unnecessary, ringing endorsement.  I heart NY.

It's not real comfy.  Sightlines are ok.  Concessions are...  well...  I don't know?  Whatevs.  I was getting my drunk on, with your grandma!

There's a renovation planned soon; so, I'd suggest getting some of the '60s MSG stink on you.  Soon.

It's history, man.

I come to NY and it's a must to attend something, anything, at the most famous arena in the world: Madison Square Garden. Fortunately, there was a Rangers/Devils game during my stay there and immediately I had to organize a way to be there.

The history of this arena hits you as soon as you enter it. The retired jerseys of the NY legends in the rafters. The passionate, rowdy fans letting the opposition on the ice and in the stands know exactly where they are. You can tell in some areas MSG may need an update (the center scoreboard gives you the bare minimum in stats, no cup holders anywhere) but that's what adds to its charm.

Great views from the upper level seats we had. No need to strain the eyes seeing who had the puck. We got to see Sean Avery beat up a Devils player. Chants of "F--- the Deh-Vaaals!  clap.....clap.....clap-clap-clap" almost drowning out the "Let's go Rangers" chant. It's too bad the Rangers lost but the environment and being in MSG was unforgettable.

Yes it's an old building, yes it needs an upgrade (coming soon), and yes along with Penn Plaza was the reason why the beautiful Penn Station was demolished.

As a Rangers and Knicks fan (Yes I can admit that I am a Knicks fan.), it's easy to say I love the Garden.  It reeks old time hockey and basketball with its crappy concourse and facilities.  Oh wait, old school basketball, it really should be called a sitcom with the way they play these days.  That said, I've been to some great concerts and other games.

One of my favorite moments at the Garden is when my alma mater Boston University played Cornell University in hockey.  The crowd was 3 to 1 in favor of Cornell fans, but our schools being red and white, it was an awesome sight to see.  I could only experience this in a place like the Garden.  4.5 stars.

I know I'm biased because I'm from NYC but this is the best stadium I have ever been to!!!!!!!!

Concerts, circus' and sporting and events and it doesn't get better than MSG.

It's huge, everyone knows exactly where to go when you say MSG and the best part is, at the bottom there's the train station.  You can't get better than that.

Whenever I'm at MSG, I feel proud to be a NEW YORKER!!!

Much like the reconstructed Yankee Stadium (the old one, not the one that opened in '09), this Madison Square Garden is devoid of much personality but still somehow holds onto the ghosts of the past. The sightlines are much better for basketball than for hockey (where, when sitting behind the goal, the area behind the red-line is obscured), and the passageways, bathrooms, and food lines can quickly become cramped. This is New York, after all, and an 18,200-19,300 seat arena just doesn't cut it anymore, particularly with the concourses on the inside of the arena constantly affording blocked views due to wandering fans.

That being said, the sound is still great and its a decent place to watch a basketball game. There are a few enclaves of good food and beer throughout the stadium (though one has to search). In short, a decent arena that pales in comparison to the Prudential Center.

BEER/FOOD SELECTION: Meh. Typical stadium food, with a few exceptions.
VIEWS: Above-average for basketball, average-to-poor for hockey.
SOUND: Good. Even through the din of nineteen thousand fans, sounds are crisp and clear.

As a warning, tickets for games go quick and expensive (particularly for the Rangers). One can find deals for the Knicks up high, but the average low-end price is around $40 bucks in the nosebleeds for many other events.

The first time I went to MSG it was to attend my own graduation (3-stars). The second and third times, to watch the Knicks lose (3-stars). And this week, to enjoy complimentary suite seats for Britney Spear's Circus tour.

I'm not even a Britney fan, but I did it for my GBFs, and to check out the suites.

Through a dedicated entrance that is eerily empty, my friend and I rode alone in the elevator to 10, through empty hallways, and into a suite that seats 14. Each suite has two rows of five stadium seats, with a thin counter space in front, and behind this are four bar seats and a larger counter. One table is set up with warm pasta, salad, cheese and crackers, and wraps. There is a kitchen with sink, fridge, wine, beer, sodas, water, and ice. And each suite has its own bathroom.

That said, I'm not sure 10 stories up is the best vantage point for a show. You can see all the "illusions" of the Circus from up there. I think watching Britney straddle a human chair made of men's legs and then get lifted up 10 feet is better seen from ground level.

I remember my first trip to the Garden.

I was nine years old, attending a Ranger game due to the generosity of a friend's father. When he heard it was my first game, he brought me down behind the bench and got me a freezing cold puck, straight out of the bucket.* Paul Messier** was sitting right in front of me; the lesser known Messier, obviously. But how many people do you know who can say that Paul Messier signed their puck? It's like having a Don Swayze autograph. Or, for you young'uns, a Johnny Drama autograph...if he was a real person. Victory!

I remember my last trip to the Garden.

It was during the Rangers' brief playoff run this year. A friend's company gave her tickets, and her distaste for hockey turned out wonderfully for me. Two friends and I were given the run of a SkyBox full of beer, wine, wings, pasta, cheese, crackers and other assorted items. We stayed well after the Rangers had blown it, drinking the complimentary booze until the attendants kicked us out so they could clean the box.

I don't remember each and every time in between.***

But I know what you're thinking, and yes: for me, the Garden represents a long, charmed string of mooching off friends, family, and random acquaintances. And each and every time has been special, because the World's Most Famous Arena doesn't just put on any old show. Even when I've just been going to watch the [godawful] Knicks of the past 10 years, walking into the Garden still makes me a bit giddy. No matter how many times I've been inside, it always feels like a momentous occasion. And I hope it always will.
__________

*It wasn't until years later that I realized this didn't happen to everybody.
**According to Wikipedia, he is now managing Mark Messier's hotel in the Bahamas. I need to have a talk with my brother. Something's not right here.
***Except the ones where I got to see the great #23 play. You know who I mean: Jeff Beukeboom.

We were three British guys, visiting the stadium for the first time, to see a Knicks vs Hawks game few seasons ago.

Something of a mixed experience

Positives:

- Loved  the idea that cheerleaders with rocket launchers shot inflatable merchandise at us at halftime.
- Game was fast paced and the Knicks won which all of New York seemed to like.
- Friendly New Yorkers chatted to us all night.

Negatives

- Peer pressure forced us to betray our British heritage and sing along to the U.S. national anthem.
- Getting to use a toilet at halftime is practically impossible with the crowds
- Near the end of the game, we tried to get on that large TV they have stuck to the roof of the stadium, but the camera-man kept focusing on two twenty-something blonde women with large cleavages. If only my friend, Harry's man boobs had been bigger.

Not sure MSG can still live up to all the history and hype. I do find it rather amazing that there is even room for a stadium of this size in the middle of Manhattan at all, but the stadium is outdated.
MSG seems to be in some sort of "Stadium Purgatory". It's not sure if it should be restored in a classic way to keep the history and old traditional feel alive (hot dogs, pretzles & beer), or get totally revamped to keep up with more modern arenas (is that guy over there seriously eating sushi during a hockey game?). Right now its a weird mix of both. Some sort of arena identity crisis.
I've definitely been to better stadiums especially for hockey. I was surprised to see the home of the "elite" NY Rangers wasn't as great as the teams record. This is not a stadium where you think, "There isn't a bad seat in the house!" because looking around I saw several places to sit that wouldn't be worth even half-priced tickets.
The positives are the amazing variety of events that go on here. You name it, MSG has had it. I don't think a night goes by where there isnt something going on here. Also the convenience to public transportation. It is literally right on top of Penn Station! And I guess for now it could be considered a positive thing that if u want sushi with ur hockey, you can get it, but I'll stick to the hot-dogs and beer.

An amazing place of such historical values. This is kind of a late review but I was able to go see the Knicks play the Clippers a couple months back and just never found the time to finish this review. Even though the Knicks are far from their glory years it was great to see the loyal following of fans. My friend and I even got to see Larry Johnson! Food here was overpriced and not as tasty as I hoped for but hey we were here for the experience more than anything. I would have rated this place high if the management actually knew what they were doing but hey thing's are moving in the right direction at least. Take the subway here for sure because parking will be a nightmare at the very least and get there early because just like previous reviewers said the place get cramped and quick.

If you want a better time I highly suggest not "penny pinching" and pay for better seats. You get a better crowd, and a better atmosphere for sure. You might have to pay more but like everyone always sez, you get what you pay for. The history to this place is just simply amazing.

As a homeless 11 year old...I packed bags at the supermarket to help feed my family.  Living in midtown was quite the on your own growing experience.  However, I had what most homeless people don't have: A Rolodex. Um, hello, I grew up in manhattan, what do you expect.

In my rolodex were hundreds of nice people's business cards, most of whom I met at events and while speaking on behalf of organizations that helped the homeless be...um homeless...I always thought maybe they should help us be not homeless anymore but hey, what did I know, I was 11.

ONE of the cards was a vice president of ticketron and whenever HULK HOGAN came to town, he said I could give him a ring.  So, one day, Hulk Hogan wasn't just coming to town, he was going to be at Madison Square Garden and he was defending his title.  There might have even been a steal cage involved somewhere that night.  It was big.  So, I got my 11 year old, sales tax paying self on the pay phone and made the call.

Two weeks later, a friend and I were picking up tickets at the box office to see Hulk rip his shirt off in front of all the other Hulkamaniacs at the lengendary MADISON SQUARE GARDEN.

And we sung I am a real american!

"When it comes crashin' down and it hurts inside,
You've gotta take a stand- it don't help to hide.
If you hurt my friends then you hurt my pride.
I gotta be a man - I can't let it slide.

I am a real American,
Fight for the rights of every man.
I am a real American,
Fight for what's right - fight for your life!"
http://www.youtube.com...

Moral: In this bad economy, with layoffs looming and a random sense of hopelessness, remember, all is not lost...even when you are down and out, you can do anything if you put your mind to it!  If an eleven year old homeless kid can open his Rolodex and get to Madison Square Garden, you can work some magic from your blackberry...Make it Happen!  Thats what Madison Square Garden symbolizes, HOPE against odds that seem like they are insurmountable!

The mecca of basketball

Went here to see the raptors play the knicks

The food sucks and so does their beer. The prices are overexpensive.

But I love the fans. They just rag on everyone especially up in the nose bleeds.

It was like paying for a basketball game and a comedy show. Awesome

With the passing of the old Yankee Stadium and even Shea, Madison Square Garden remains one of the last bastions of old-time sports in NYC.

Thankfully one of the best qualities about MSG is that it's an awesome place to see an event, whether it's Ranger hockey, the Knicks or your favorite band.

There isn't a bad seat in the house, and the Garden rocks at times. People like to be loud there, and it has a great vibe. When it's on at MSG, there isn't anyplace like it, anywhere.

In honor of my Mom -- who is unofficially the only person to attend every Rangers home game for a season and not see one single goal -- I present my Top 10 Most Memorable Moments at "The World's Most Famous Arena":

* Yes concert, 1983 - My first concert without parental supervision ("Owner of a Lonely Heart....")

* Rangers vs. Oilers, 1984 - Wayne Gretzky - aka The Great One - in his prime on Broadway

* Bulls vs. Knicks - Rookie Michael Jordan dominates in his first pro appearance at MSG

* Pearl Jam, 2008 - Eddie leads the crowd in a spontaneous rendition of "Let's Go Rangers!"

* Wilco, New Year's, 2004-05 - Chatting with Jeff Tweedy, wearing a bunny suit, backstage

* Rangers vs. Islanders, 1983 playoffs - An overtime playoff game during this bitter rivalry's peak

* Andy Bathgate Night 2009 - Rangers raise No. 9 and my namesake to the rafters

* Eddie Murphy "Raw" - mid-1980s at Felt Forum - sooooo stoned!

* Georgetown vs. St. Johns, 1985 - Ewing vs. Mullin, No. 1 vs. No. 2, fifth-row seats!

* Ringling Bros. Circus - circa 1978 - cotton candy, elephants & tigers, some guy shooting himself out of a cannon, and hanging with my Mom.....

Welcome to Madison Square Garden - the World's Most Famous Arena!

That is what you hear at the start of every event when you are at MSG. This is indeed "the Mecca" when it comes to big events.

I admit that I have been spoiled at the Garden. Every great show or event that I can remember has happened at the Garden:

- Radiohead at the Theatre in MSG
-  John Starks returning to the Garden in a GS Warrior uniform (sad sight but we cheered and cheered and cheered for #3)
-  Jimmy "superfly" Snuka diving off the top of the steel cage against the Magnificent Muraco
-  Opening night of the 2001-2002 Knick season, which featured Michael Jordan in a Washington Wizard uniform, a few weeks after 9/11
- Game 7: Canucks/Rangers, where they finally won the Stanley Cup after 54 years
-  New Kids on the Block reunion concert

Yes, I was at all those events. Sometimes I have to pinch myself that I have been lucky enough to witness them (even New Kids - shut it).

When it comes to the big events, nothing - and I mean NOTHING - beats going to The Garden.

I visited the Garden last year to watch the Sharks play the Rangers and felt privileged to have access inside "The World's Most Famous Arena."

To state the obvious, location is awesome with very accessible public transportation all around.

For anyone who appreciates sports, the Garden is amazing simply on its historic value.  For someone who doesn't care so much about going to games, the arena might appear to be outdated, but in my opinion it's the vintage aesthetics that add to its historic appeal.

I hate the Lakers, but I was there last night. I saw Kobe Bryant drop a Garden record of 61pts., previously held by Michael Jordan's 55pts. by a visiting player.

We had amazing company tickets. One section back from the court, mid-court, facing the 1/2 court Knicks logo.

There were more Lakers fans than Knicks fans, how sad. They kept chanting M-V-P! M-V-P! everytime he was at the free throw line. They even gave him a standing ovation at the Garden when he was done for the night.

That's embarrassing New York.

I admit though, Kobe is the best player today. Lebron is good, but he's still a raw beast. Seeing Kobe shoot his fadeaways, turnaround, and change his shot mid-air is really impressive in-person. I was like WHOA...

Prince Akeem: YES!!! IN THE FACE!!!
Darryl Jenks: Wearing clothes must be a new experience for you.

Impressive stadium right in the middle of Manhattan.

Parking... a mess. You should take public transit here.

Inside, tight, thin escalators and stairways up to multiple levels... made for a poor entry and even poorer exit - I can only imagine how hard it would be to get out in an emergency.

Plenty of beer/food stands. Not so much can be said for the bathrooms. Seats are a bit tight, but that's to be expected in the 300's. Even the 100's are a bit tight for what you pay...

Events here range from sports (NBA, NHL) to singers and rodeos. You're definitely here for those rather than the building itself...

Decent acoustics, though the upfront security/box office probably needs to be redesigned a bit. But that's a space issue more than anything...

I'm almost ashamed to admit I wanted to watch a bunch of grown men run around in shorts and tank tops playing with balls, but it's acceptable when they're not playing with my balls.

MSG and NY are considered the Mecca of Basketball and anything considered the Mecca is good in my book.  Even though it's not the most high tech, modern sports venues around, MSG is just one of the spots you gotta check out, even if it's just to pass by and take some photos.  Luckily on my trip to NYC I was able to take in a NBA game at The Garden.

Unfortunately the NY Knicks aren't part of the Elite Squad of the NBA because they haven't been to the playoffs since the 2003-2004 season and that year they didn't even have a winning record.  So all I was hoping for was a close game and they provided just that playing the Denver Nuggets.  It was competitive right to the end.

Just a tip though ... if you go to a game and you decide to cheer for the other city's team, expect to get popcorn thrown at you, hear the words you suck, sit down, shut up and get da fuck outta here (in a NY accent) ... and that was me doing the throwing and cussing and I don't even live in NY or like the Knicks.

This is more like a 4.1 rating.I really do like this arena. I think something is Missing from the Garden now that the NY Knicks are not relevant anymore.  I have been to this arena over the years for many things :The Circus, Enrique Iglesias concert (they were mad close seats and free), Shakira concert -September 8th, 2006(oh I love her), Rangers games (some games back when there were at least 6 fights a night), you know  other stuff WWF wrestling when I was a kid (Hulk Hogan and Brutus Beefcake vs Mr. Perfect and Lanny Poffo).  I almost always though kept my focus on basketball.  I had been to knick games since the 1993-94 season and just had my streak snapped this past year. That team was not worth spending money on and I guess I didn't have any hookups.  I MISS GOING TO PLAYOFFS GAMES TO SEE -THE excitement of the crowd in the garden. Went to one playoff game in 1997 against Charlotte.   Went to a few games in the miracle playoff run of 1999.  I went to Miami and Atlanta games(Oh man, Camby was just dunking over everyone), first and second round series. I never expected them to go to finals so by then all other tix were gone. Knicks, I need you to start winning again. END OF STORY.

First of all, its THE GARDEN, so it gets points for being a historic building where so much history has taken place.

Aside from that, let's start with the good.
The sections and towers have signs and are easy to find. You can usually find your seats on your own if you're in non floor seat.
The Garden is cleaner than it has been in years but remember that despite the remodeling a few decades back, it's still an OLD building.
The seats are comfortable and you have a decent amount of legroom and are not on top of people around you.
SUPER convenient, accessible from NJ, LI and all 5 boroughs

The not so good:
Ancient ushers.   If you have floor seats for an event, it may take you a little bit to find your seat, since the ushers will insist on "helping" you. They're little old men who have been working there for a hundred years and are not always familiar with the particular floor layout.

I have attended every kind of event there, so here's some  seating suggestions:

Basketball and Hockey: any seat will be great. The 400 section, formerly and still sometimes referred to as the "the Blue seats" are the  home of die hard Knick/Ranger fans, are the nosebleeds but you can still see all the action and enjoy the company of screaming season ticket holders.

Wrestling: Unless you have ringside seats that are 1 through 4th row, stay OFF the floor. You will see nothing but the back of other fans heads, or signs at a TV taping.
Try to get seats in anywhere from the 50s through the front rows of the 300s.  Anything higher will just look like 2 dots jumping.

Boxing: Same as wrestling. Get seats in a section, not the floor.

Circus: Any seat is good except the 400s. Little kids will miss out on stuff going on, but Ringling is a 3 ring deal that takes uo the entire arena floor so you can see things from any end.

Westminster Dog Show:  Seats are GA, so get there early with a friend and snag a seat towards the center so you can see all the groups at once. Make sure to have a buddy so one can guard the seats or else you will lose them.

Concerts: End stage set ups, you're better off NOT having floor seats. Centerstage is a little better.

With any show, make sure to check the seating plan on the garden's site

God bless this amazing building.  Please.  Bless it with a Stanley Cup!

The absolute greatest place to see a sporting event or (indoor) concert.

The building is unmistakable in a city full of landmarks.  The roof is iconic.  The retired numbers and championship banners tell the story of legends.

The lighting over the court/ice compared to the stands makes it feel like you're watching theatre, and every single pre season, regular season, or James Dolan willing, post season game feel like an absolute event, whether you're in any level of the stands, a luxury suite, on the floor for boxing or standing at a concert.

The concessions are fair at best, but most of the walkways have more than enough room to get by.

3 areas where they lack would have to be:

1) No more Cosby's right outside - the sporting goods store, for years a staple of meeting someone at the Garden, is now across 7th ave.
2) DO NOT DRINK THE DRAFT BEER - seriously.  The taps are dirty and the (overpriced) beer tastes gross.
3) You come to any event and you're paying James Dolan

Oh, and dont worry about getting there early.  Hell, dont even worry about getting there on time.  No one else does.

Yes, an extra star SIMPLY BECAUSE...

I TOUCHED JOEY MCINTYRE!!!*

AIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAIEEEEEEEE!!! (Yes, that is my inner twelve-year old screeeeaming!)

*Well, his jacket, but that counts, right??

Not bumped up to 5 starrage because of the impossibly rude and surly merchandise vendors (who we confirmed are employees of MSG, not any third party vendor).

I'm never washing this hand again.

Kidding! Sorta...

Went to see iron maden with a friend the concert was great...
The place seems smaller then one might think...
Lots of walking to the place and if you want to exit also a lot of walking
For some reason the whole place smelled like mildew...

Arena.

World famous - everyone knows the name Madison Square Garden.  I've been here countless times for some ungodly amount of events.  The only thing is that concerts suck here and lets be real, you can NEVER get a good seat unless you are willing to shell out some serious coin to the scalpers for them.

With Penn station right downstairs, this place is at least convenient to mass transit.

*Grown men who wear plastic replicas of WWE championship belts have no chance of ever getting laid.

MSG, home to the inept Knicks and the choke artists known as Rangers, and under the embarrassingly awful ownership of the Dolans and Cablevision.
Gone are the glory days of Reed, Frasier, Ewing, and Messier. Gone are the historic boxing events of Ali, Marciano, Foreman and Duran. Only ghosts of a golden age gone by remain. The Garden is a mere shell of its former self. A quiet building on a bustling avenue. MSG must now fill the quiet spring nights with monster truck shows, circuses, and WWE wrestling. And at one such WWE event is where John N found himself on a Tuesday night in April.

My kids love wrestling. They love wrestling more than they love me, I think. And in an ongoing effort to prove I am a funner/cooler parent than my ex, Jayne and I bought them tickets and spent the better part of 4 hours watching men fling each other all over the joint. I have to admit the WWE puts on an entertaining show. There were fireworks, there was music, and there were the WWE divas (bonerz). All in all the night was pretty good and the kids loved it. Here's the thing though, I was there with my kids, other parents were there with their kids, there was a preponderance of teenagers enjoying some parent free entertainment in the Garden, it was all perfectly normal. But then there were the grown men. Grown men by themselves, wearing replica WWE championship belts. Grown men holding homemade signs made out of oak tag. Grown men screaming and cheering as if what they were watching was real. I would wager that less than one half of one percent have ever known the touch of a woman. Guys, seriously, you're not gonna get laid this way.

Ode to Kobe...
Cant touch the untouchable, break the unbreakable
Shake the unshakeable (its Kobe baby)
Cant see the unseeable, reach the unreachable
Do the impossible (its Kobe baby)
Cant move the unmoveable, stop the unstoppable..

61 FOR KOBE! Made history setting a new MSG record in the World's Most Famous Arena. The previous record of 60 was set by Bernard King in Xmas of 2004. It would be 2yrs later that I would finally see Kobe play (see prior review), but guess what bitches? Redemption is MINE! Yes, I was at that game. The scary part is Kobe only played half the game, as it was a blowout. Even scarier than that is the fact that his jumpshot got BETTER this year. Right from the first 5 minutes you could tell this guy was on a mission. That's why he's my favorite player in the NBA. He has that killer instinct and tunnel vision to accomplish what no others can. For that I commend him. No, you can't have my ticket stub, even if you drink my bath water.

The many times that I've been here have been in the Club Suites. I really enjoy attending concerts and performance events from the suite. Yes, the forgotten part of the arena where you NEVER get freebies (think t-shirt launchers), camera airtime (not that I want any but just saying), volunteer opportunities etc because you're basically non-existent sitting in the boxes.  However, did I mention a private bathroom, food and drinks within your reach and at times really good spreads, comfortable seating (and soon to be really luxurious seating in the new remodeled suites).

I love being in the suites for concerts and most performances. I have to admit that at times the interaction pulls your attention away from games - there have been many a games that I've attended at MSG sitting in the box and having no recollection whatsoever about the game that I'd supposedly attended. Luckily I'm not a huge Knicks fan so I'm usually cool with that. However, it's a different story when it comes to the Rangers...

When I'm attending hockey games, I really prefer rink side seats - we usually get seats by the goal. I really love the adrenalin rush sitting here because you can soak in all the action and really get into the game. But then you have to squeeze with the masses and grab food and use the bathrooms in between sections but who's complaining.

I was in attendance last night for  the "Stand Up For A Cure" benefit concert. The opening act was Staten Island's own Ingrid Michaelson. I never heard of her before last night, and was really impressed. She was great live! Then the headliners came out. The Dave Matthews Band! They were introduced to the sold out Garden crowd by Dave's good friend Julia Roberts.

We had section 86,which was so close to the stage, but elevated a bit (which is perfect for me). But honestly any seat in MSG offers a great view. They were so on last night, with their usual hits like Crash Into Me and Spoon (with Ingrid Michaelson joining them on stage for that song), to covers like Sledgehammer and Burning Down the House!

MSG is such a great place to see any event...whether it be music, sports, or like Dave told the crowd "I used to come here every year with my dad to see Ringling Bros Circus."

MSG is such an important part of the city's history, however . . .

I've seen several concerts here and the acoustics have always been pretty bad.  I don't know if it's because the building is so huge or if the sound would be better directly in front of the stage, but if you're on the sides or near the top, the sound is often muffled and echoing.

Also, if you want snacks or beer or you want to chat with your neighbor, please do that before the show starts.  Why pay money to see a band and then not watch the show?

Saw Jovi here Monday. Our seats were behind the stage but his 4, two million dollar, double sided, rotating fifty foot screens helped make this a once in a lifetime experience.

If you like beer, this venue is for you. Snack stands selling beer. Beer stands in front of snack stands. Beer salesman coming to your seats! If only there was a beer trough, the night would have been complete.

Jon Bovi's charisma is off the charts, nothing to do with the venue. . I'm just sayin. . .

If you ever have the means, I HIGHLY recommend the suites.

Just saw Kings of Leon at the MSG.  The sound is amazing at the MSG.  And you can see the stage pretty well in any section.

I would give this place 5 stars, but I hear that they built over the Historic Penn Station, which not being from the area, I am not entirely sure about the drama behind it, but I am not down with demolishing historic places.  But MSG is pretty awesome.

It is easy to find your seat, and the ushers help you if you can't find your way.  A con is, I didn't see any concession stands selling wine, maybe a NYC thing, but that was a bummer.  So instead I got a beer which came with a free pretzel which I thought was pretty cool.

Kings of Leon rocked and looked hot as ever.

Was here last night to see Beyonce in concert. She rocked it, so this review is a little tainted. I feel like MSG does a good job of letting you see the action no matter where you're sitting in the stadium, but when buying your tickets, if you really LOVE who you're going to see and you can't afford orchestra, try to get 100 or 200 section. They're still really good seats, especially if you get the ones close to the stage. The annoying thing was the crazy amounts of stairs and escalators getting to and from the seating. I felt dizzy like I was trapped in a bad game of shoots and ladders.

The world's most famous arena...right on top of Penn Station so PT is easily accessed..I love going to this place to (usually) see my Warriors beat up on the Knicks.
The moment I go into this place, images of Willis Reed, Led Zeppelin, and Joe Louis all are evoked for me, and I revel in sitting in the arena of arenas...not a bad seat in the house, either!
