This place is not closed, it is OPEN. The address is just wrong.
I'm all for a night of comedy; however, I wasn't sure what to expect when coming here because I looked on Madcap's website and saw a term that immediately turned me off... family friendly? And I made a comment to the person I went with about this fact. I admit, it made me sound as if all I like is vulgar, adult-themed comedy. That's not true! But I was talked into coming here, and I had a pretty good time.
The actors are funny, their timing is always "on." Different show every time, so you could go to every show if you wanted to and see something new (mostly). Keeping it clean is definitely a challenge, but the performers execute it well. You have to be quick to do improv (as I learned in my 7th grade acting class. Yah, I'm sort of a legend). These guys got it, and most of them are locally born and/or raised, with impressive training.
There's two shows a night, one at 7:00, and one at 9:30. You would think that few kids would be at the 9:30 show, and if they are there, then they'll be sleepy and semi-quiet. Oh no. At least when I was there, the children's shrill voices echoed in my ear, temporarily deafening me, and holding me back from shouting out some suggestions.
But it wasn't too bad, and I still had a good time. Shout out a suggestion if you can, (shut up, damn children) and you'll help make the show exciting for yourself.
Just a tip... if you go out to eat beforehand and you have a box of leftovers, make sure you have time to go put it in the car. That was my plan, but time got away from us. I tried to hide it from the women at the door, but they snatched it out of my hand and put it in their refrigerator. I'm sure nothing happened to it, but it surely makes me wonder... what if they did do something to it?
Moral of the story? No outside food or drink.
Second moral of the story? I don't hate kids. Really, I don't. Most of the time. But this is a fun place for families, but also for a night out with friends or a date if you must find yourself near the Westminster Promenade.

The Madcap Theater is always a blast. Every time we've been there, its been laugh-until-it-hurts funny. The regulars are all hysterical. Madcap really is the cure for the common night out.
