I love Macitas! From their breakfast to their dinner menu you can always count on something amazingly delicious. It's a restaurant that satisfies the need for a good home cooked meal.

The only reason why I don't give it 5 stars is because every single time I've been there to take out (particularly breakfast) its been so busy that it can take a while to get out of there. However, I won't let this minor glitch in such a friendly establishment keep me for coming back for more.

    Try their empanadas!

I have come here a few times to order take out from their bakery. They have fresh empanadas that are really good, tequenos, pan de bono, croqueta, and more. The coffee here is pretty good and their prices are reasonable.

We have ordered their bandeja piasa, steak, chorizzo, chicharron with rice and red beans. I have honestly had better but being so close to home this place really comes in handy when craving this dish. The red beans here are fabulous, very thick and Delish.

I haven't tried any other dish but this one is pretty good. I have also eaten here and the waitress was very nice and attentive.

been here many times since it's close to home and it's always good. hubby always gets his churrasco and he always enjoys. I usually eat carne asada. servings are large and big enough to share sometimes but mine doesn't share meat so I gotta get my own. you get cuban bread prior to your meal and I really wish it was more authentic to Colombia and maybe serve pan de bono or something other than cuban bread that I eat all the time.

service: good and inconsistent. ordered salad today and no dressing showed up with it. my husband got a wrong side dish, but all fixable things and server was very kind and attentive.

price: great for all the food you get.

ambiance: loud, open space, a little hot when it's packed, and lots of kids usually on wknd afternoons.

I recommend a try and we will keep coming.

Just had a very good "Churrasco de Entrañas" with all the trimmings. Nothing better on lazy afternoon of good food. Paired with a good beer, was just great. Not a fancy restaurant but the food is very good.

Went there after the restaurant was reviewed  by a local Miami  PBS  food show.
The menu is extensive from appetizers, meats, seafood, poultry, soups and typical colombian food.
As appetizer I order " chicharrones" ( deep fried pork chunks with a crunchy skin). yummy....
Entree was a churrasco ( beef skirt) with white rice, sweet fried plantains and black beans ( not that great the beans).
The bakery assortment looks so so...
As dessert I ordered  a  very sweet and tasty  Flan;   firmer  in texture than the ones you find in a Cuban or Spanish restaurant.
Highly recommended.Prices are reasonable even for seafood. Will return again to try something different.

Great. Great. Wish I'd had more room in my tummy.
So authentic and tasty. An unexpected find  buried in a mini mall. The corn tortillas were so sweet and buttery.

I'm a big fan of Macita's.  Breakfast is phenomenal and the cafe con leche is great.  The only reason it's not 4 stars is service is slow.

love it. macitas is straightforward and traditional with their colombian food. no fancy spinoffs with dishes or offering foods from other countries in their menu (unlike La Moon), this is a typical, old school and casual colombian place to eat. give me a fresh "pan de bono " and a coffee in the morning at macitas, and im good to go. thanks Macitas, for staying true to your roots. theres a reason this place is always buzzing with customers inside. weather its staying to eat, or ordering to go by the bakery, we appreciate it.

Talk about sweet old ladies that work here. Ok not that old but none the less older than I. This is a Colombian restaurant with delicious dishes from well Columbia. The cafe con leche here is the bes
t hands down. They make it all frothy its delicious. The croquetas are excellent and the pan de bono is heaven! For those that like empanadas they aren't to great. But for all other authentic dishes this is spot especially if your down south

Thought about a 5 rating but it wasn't really knock your socks off.  I'm not a fan of the places that drop your silverware off in a baggie.  So that takes it down a star.  Plus one dining-mate had a salad and it was all iceberg.  What is it about Latin joints and their iceberg lettuce?  That's not a feekin salad.

Okay, with that off my chest, this place was a pleasant surprise.  Their were four of us total.  Four guys can be a pain in the ass for a server but she handled it well.

I had some traditional type of soup where they give you the meat on the side and you put it in the soup.  One of the other guys said it needed the special picante sauce so we did that.  Be careful.  That stuff can get hot quick.  I didn't mind at all and it was a superb addition to the soup.

This was really a meal soup.  Served with plenty of bread and rice and you are good to go.

I'll be back to try the other offerings.

Um, nyoo! The cortaditos here are shamazing! Just the right amount of sweetness and creamy, steamy awesomeness that hits the spot. I'm not a meat/egg eater, but my parents have informed me that all the food here is awesome and their 3.99 breakfast is tasty delicious. To quote my Dad "Cocinan con sabor!"

I've had their guava pastries, pan de bono and this fried thingy that was delightful. Yum!

Macita's is a Colombian Restaurant thats has pretty authentic cuisine. I have had breakfast, lunch, and dinner here. In the mornings for coffee and their house bread and I recently discovered their freshly squeezed OJ which is awesome.  They also have a great lunch and dinner selection the food is always fresh and portion sizes are large. The red meat plates are very tasty they also have a good wine selection.

The staff is super friendly and they make great conversation. I would definitely recommend this place... (=

This is a great little Colombian restaurant near Cutler Bay off US-1. It looks a little like a strip club from the outside (we always joke about the limo-tint dark windows), but it's not hard to find.

The service is normally really friendly, the food is fresh (even though the wait is sometimes a little while to get your food) and it is reasonably priced.

The bistec a caballo and their empanadas are my personal favorite. The entrees are about $10 each, and they give large portions. They also offer cantina, for anyone who works or lives nearby and is interested.

Although I am familiar with Colombian cuisine, most of my knowledge comes from home cooked meals at the homes of friends.  Like most Latin cuisine, it is difficult if not impossible to find a restaurant that matches the flavor and authenticity of those home cooked meals.  That is, until now.   The food and atmosphere at Macita's is heads and shoulders above any Colombian restaurant I have been to.

This place is in my neighborhood so I've been there at least a half dozen times. The service is friendly yet inconsistent. The real problem here is the food. We've been served cold food more than once, and flavorless food just about every time. The only positives are the low prices and ample parking. There are so many other places to go for good Colombian food.

I like this colombian restaurant. he sobre barriga  (beef brisket) is really tasty and a good size portion. The prices are reasonable. They make the best coffee and pan de bono. Im gonna have to disagree with Pat on this one; the food is always hot and well seasoned. The baked goods are all good. They have good lunch specials and it seems like alot of people get their weekly cantinas. The service is always good, and their sancochos seem to be popular. There is always a wait during rush hours and the place sits a good amount of people; so the proof to the quality is in the attendance.

After I watched Maria Full of Grace and decided to skip my trip to Colombia for fear of being kidnapped (yeah, i watch the news, youre not fooling me) I decided to check out Macitas. Good food, however overpriced and quite frankly I cant stand Colombian parcero Spanish so I was out of this joint faster than you can say "Ave Maria Pues". Make sure to try their pan de abono. It's serious.

This is the best authentic Colombian food!
Recommended for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Try their fresh empanadas and pan de bono.
I recommend for breakfast: (El calentado) with their colombian hot chocolate.
I recommend for lunch: the (bandeja paisa) you have the option for steak or ground beef.
They also make their own fresh cheese!!
I recommend that you buy some to take home.

I really enjoyed this place and so did my fiancé. We got there for breakfast and we  waited on quickly. They serve a huge toast with your meal and the service was very friendly. I ordered the Spanish sausage omlet and my fiancé ordered a breakfast meal that came with two eggs bacon French fries and toast. We paid less than $10 and could not fit in a dessert because we were full. I would definitely go again.

Macita's was a great time! On my most recent adventure to their quaint little restaurant I had the snapped with some mashed potatoes and red beans...it was all wonderful. The snapped was cooked to lovely perfection with creamy mashed potatoes. I don't know what spices they put in the red beans but the were wonderful. It may be a Columbian restaurant (of which I'm not Columbian) but it had that home-y feel like my favorite Chilean place (of which I am Chilean). Any place that can give me that feeling gets an A+ from me.

If you are in Miami (southern), you MUST visit Macita's.  If you love Colombian food, you MUST visit Macita's.  I've been several times and get so excited when it's time to go again.  There is something about the beans here that is just amazing.  I'm told (by my extended Colombian family) it is that they are pink beans cooked in a traditional Colombian style with potatoes and peppers.  Whatever it is, they are delicious.  The whole fried mojara and the snapper are both really great too!  I've actually never had anything here that wasn't awesome.  Every time I have an empanada, I compare to Macita's.  The staff is so friendly and they cater to whatever you want or need.  Just before I left Florida they moved into a bigger location.  I hope they are doing well and I cannot wait to go back.

The food here is great - especially the soup!  Homemade soups loaded with plantain, potato, yuca and full of flavor!  The large soup is enough for a meal.  The fish was also excellent, and it came with homemade tartar sauce.  I can't wait to eat here again!

This place is good for lunch, as they have good lunch specials on weekdays.  Fridays is Fish Fillet with seafood sauce, comes with  your choice of 2 side dishes and a small soup.  They have really good fruit juices such as maracuya, Mora, and different Colombian sodas.  The food for the most part is very good, with great taste and bountiful.   I try to stay away from the fried dishes such as chicharron and bandeja paisa which are a bit too much for me . Their carne asada/churrasco lacked flavor/marinade, as it tasted very bland.  good thing their chimichurri helped a bit.    Service is always friendly however not always attentive/effective.  Prices are very reasonable and the place is always clean.
