Tucked inside the inordinately large entryway of Rite Aid is a genius in watch repair. The little counter, which takes up only a teeny part of this space, seems to be open all of the time and reconnecting people with the instrument that keeps them on schedule.  This business has repaired and replaced the battery in my Tag Heuer watch twice taking great pride in their work while warning me to never take my Tag to any watch repair technician that is not specially certified to work on it. For a moment he reminded me of that mechanic character on Seinfeld who had a rabid attachment to maintenance of Jerry's car. Don't worry, there's no nagging at this little counter, just quality work at a very reasonable price.

I'll be honest, I've never used this place.  I do swing by the Rite Aid where this guy is located, though, and I can attest to two facts:

Fact #1, dude works all the time.  In the history of going to Rite Aid, I've only seen this place closed once.  That's not entirely true, either.  I noticed the place was closed when I went into Rite Aid, but when I came out, he was open for business.

Fact #2, dude somehow doesn't freak out even though he has to look at creepy garden gnomes all day.  He shares this space with some Rite Aid garden decor crap, and I don't know how he can even turn a screw without becoming overwhelmed by the thought of all those dead, lifeless (yet knowing) ceramic eyes watching his every moment.  I'd last like 45 seconds.  Dude's been there forever though.  That says something about him, and I think it's good.

A little 10 x 10 both inside a Rite Aid lobby. There are  3 or 4 different guys that work this place. "Fred" who was there for 15-20 years has moved on to another location. Every watch repair guy there does their job speedy and properly.  They seem to have a line just when they arrive so maybe a better time to go there is mid day.Their hours are 10-7 seven days a week.

This little kiosk isn't much to look at, but the guy behind the counter is attentive and put in a new watch battery in only about one minute. It cost me $7. It's hard to beat the cost or the time spent.

Outstanding service! This repair place is a throwback to good old-fashioned, quality watch repair - and at a VERY reasonable cost. I am 57 years old, and all the other jewelry stores I went to were too expensive and acted very pompous as they quoted me ridiculous high prices for repairing my 3 Rolex watches. I was actually surprised that  Mohammed said he could swap out the guts of one watch and put it in the casing of another...and for a much lower cost than any other place around!  If you want honesty and a friendly person to deal with - than this is the place! I wish him well and hope he stays in business a long time!

Excellent!

Took my automatic watch to him for service. His first question was whether it is keeping time as expected. When I to him that indeed is the case, his recommendation was "if it works, don't fix it". I had taken the same watch to a shop in Sunnyvale couple of years ago for replacing the crystal, and they retuned it with a scratched dial. No wonder, they are out of business now.

Again, I took my dad's old Rolex for adjusting the bracelet. He advised against removing the links since it may damage the bracelet, and adjusted the pins free of charge.

Went in to get some links removed from my new Omega watch and had superb service for only $7! The proprietor is a nice guy and didn't put a scratch on the metal strap.

Only note: there's no place to really sit and wait for your watch to be fixed. It'd be a good idea to pair your watch repair with a trip to Rite Aid.

Now this is service. Went to see the watch guy who resides in the random watch repair booth in the entrance area of Rite Aid in Mt View after my watch battery died. Literally he changed my battery in 30 seconds and in a little over a minute I was done. Total $7. And it was Sunday afternoon and he was open.

Bottom line: Excellent quick service when you need it. Don't dismiss the random watch guy in the entrance of Rite Aid because he's there when you need him. He's open weekdays 10am-7pm and weekends 10am-6pm according to his card.

Longtime watch-repair service located inside the grande entrance of Rite Aid. But don't be fooled; the service is top-notch and reaonably priced. I have been here at least 3-4 times over the years, either to have a battery changed or some screws tightened on my watch. This guy REALLY knows watches and always provides fast and expert service.

I can only reiterate what everyone else here has said. The (I presume) owner couldn't be nicer and certainly knows his watches. While I was there he must have changed out 4-5 batteries in the blink of an eye. But on top of that he knows about mechanical watches and higher-end stuff as well. My experience at M&S Watch Repair couldn't have been better.

I bought a Gucci watch recently and I needed the band resized to fit my wrist. My first places to go were a few jewelry stores at Stanford mall, where I was quoted $35 to get it adjusted and would have to make an appointment to see the "watch guy". I also asked at another watch store in downtown Palo Alto, and they said $10 a link. "Daaaaamn" my brain thought! I spent all my moneys on the watch already!

I thought I might have better luck finding a better price in Mountain View, and I randomly found M&S on Google. No reviews, but it was the first Maps OneBox result, so I placed all of my trust in PageRank and went.

Turns out M&S is a little booth set up inside a Rite-Aid, which kinda looks a bit sketch and I was a little hesitant. I told the guy working what I needed, he said no problem, and took the watch.

"How much?" I asked.
"8 dollars," he replied.
"Whoa, I went to some place at Stanford mall and they wanted $35."
"Yeah, they have to make up for their high rent some how."

He adjusted the links in about 2 minutes, and told me to try it out for a few days and if it still felt loose, I should come back and he'd adjust again. Really good fast service, and you're not wasting your money on a place that has to cover their rent.
