I had taken some front-side damage to my Jetta from a work truck who was not paying attention.
Went to M&S based on reviews here for the fix.
Pros: Excellent work, looks same as original; interior was cleaned; car was washed; wheels were detailed
Cons: Took three days for the repairs, which seemed overly long for a quarter panel replacement and minor bumper repair. One of the employees tried hard to sell me on a $150 fix for an alloy wheel, which has very minor scrape.
Finally, hours are strange, they close at 5pm on weekdays. That was a hassle. However, they arranged for me to get my car after hours, and an employee came back to give me the key. So in all, 4 stars.
My car was rear-ended in December -- my first car accident. While it could have been far worse, I had never dealt with all the insurance and hassle. I looked up body shops and found M&S Collision online and realized it was close to where I live. I called up and talked to Chuck. He was so patient and helpful, not rushing me off the phone when I was probably asking very basic "newbie" questions. He never pressured me to come in, and said that he would take a look at things and tell me what needed to be fixed.
His patience on the phone really made an impression on me so I drove it in the next day and he took care of everything. He called me with updates and he and his team did a great great job. I ended up having to pick it up after hours when it was finished and he was more than willing to come in to meet me.
I love my car and was immediately worried about how it would be treated, and after meeting Chuck, all my concerns were lifted. I would recommend him and his shop highly!

awesome communication. they gave me the low down on my widebody mr2 and the repairs needed.
they gave me a discount after realizing a few things they didn't quote me for and the extra days it took to do the job.
the paint job came out shiny and great.
on top of it all, they speak perfect english--for some reason this was a plus.

Best Bay Area body shop, or one of the best if there's such a thing.
it's always hard to find a good body shop ......I checked this place plus couple other places for estimates, but to be frank, Chuck, the owner gave a good quick estimate that's good news to my ears, he's pretty detail orientated, and very efficient about what he does.
I had this dent on my passenger door + rear view mirror, and my paint will cost him more work and time, where he was able to address them perfectly without having me feel like i owe him a favor. There were other places I looked that made me really uncomfortable, and as a potential customer, i sure don't want to have a favor on me somewhat esp. when the owner does not want to give you one. But it's not the case with Chuck, he gave me very good and comfortable service.
The end product, perfect, paint matched, great work . Felt like nothing had happened to the car ever. Even told me there were other problems with the car and how to prevent it from causing more problem. Very knowledgeable, very nice, and very very REASONABLE price when I am talking about almost 1/2 of what I get for other places.
I think I entrust all my other body work needs to M & S Collision, this is where good business practice and craftsmanship stands.

SUPREME: AUTO BODY SHOP
I had four vehicles repaired with M&S Collision. Each project has been outstanding. In addition, they had stood behind their work and service. If there was something that needed touch up or a major project, Chuck and his brother Chaiyos have always done superior work. I would not trust any other body shop in the Bay Area.
Most recent project was my 4Runner. They were able to repair my side door, match the paint perfectly, and help me out with my fog light mounting kit. Also, they have great connections to get replacement parts (custom or OEM). After 15 years of working with M&S, they still had my vehicle back in time for my next project for my SUV. They always make deadlines with me. And that's a plus!
in 1992 and 1998, I had them work on my 1971 Ford Mustang (MACH1). They took the old stallion and made it into a HOT RIDE. When I find the old photos I'll post it.
They have two facilities: Miliptas (near the Milipitas Police Department) and Santa Clara (a mile down from the Costco).
What's important to me about an auto body shop:
- All Insurance Claims Accepted
- Communication (Chuck and Chiayos know how to treat their clients)
- Restoration (artistic work)
- Pricing (Fair Pricing....they even breakdown all the parts and labor costs).
