To my lovely M & O Market, right around the corner from my current apartment:
Thank you. Thank you for having Caffeine Free Pepsi by the can. Thank you also for having White Chocolate Twix. Thank you for never judging me if I come into your store for a Sun Chip run...three times in one day.
You're a true neighborhood institution that serves affordable, freshly-made sandwiches and everything else that one could ever want from a corner store. For that, I salute you M & O Market.
PS - Do you think that you could maybe start accepting credit cards? When I stumble in at 9:00 pm on a Saturday in my pajamas searching for a pint of Ben & Jerry's, I don't always have correct change... -

best BLT still (not as big as I remember) but at $4.90 a great deal.
Nice wide selection of snacks to compliment your meal. Chips, Power bars, Hostess snowballs.
Grab your sandwich and hang at the nearby handball courts down the block. -

I came here since people suggested this place to me for a quick lunch.
Eck - this place has no selection at all.
No fresh fruit besides bananas!
Since people seem to like coming here and I didn't feel like walking all the way back to Dukes I decided to get breakfast here. They don't know how to make a plain and simple egg and cheese sandwich.
The dude never asked me nor did I tell him I wanted him to put ketchup in my egg and cheese sandwich and my roll was cold!
I gave it try - twice and never again!
I would only come here if I needed something that was already prepackage but I highly doubt it since they don't have much here. -

M&O does it right when they put their meat between the bread. Daily lunch specials can help aid the sandwich novice in making a choice but really you should use an opportunity like this place to explore sandwich creativity. Go ahead, put some hot peppers on that pastrami with balsamic vinegar or whatever you might desire.
One must is the meat loaf on Mondays. You might be lucky enough to also catch them on a day when they make fresh turkey and create a thanksgiving sandwich.
You're going to like these sandwiches, you'll just have to cope with that. -

Straight forward sandwich counter in the back serves awesome meat on your choice of bread. Rotating cast of fresh carved meats (the turkey and pork are both great). But the real reason I gave M&O 5 stars is their otherworldly BLT. Simply outstanding.

@$#@%!@^$@^%@$~~~~!!! this sandwhich is crazy good.
I was craving a hearty sandwhich, so I asked my gf to come with me here just for the damn fresh roast beef! Man this is just as good I remember. The roast beef is bloody red and juicy. The havarti cheese I chose is super soft and smooth. And as usual, the portuguese bread is soft and tasty.
I "heart" M&O1 Previous Review: Show all »

Great deli. Don't be intimidated to ask questions. Some sandwiches require you to choose your own bread from in front of the counter--I haven't quite learned the process, but I can vouch for both the pastrami on rye and the italian for being solid lunch choices. Don't forget to grab a pickle.

The Spicy Italian Combo is real good. It's huge, though comes at a $8.30 price tag. It's one of those "one half for one meal" sandwiches. The pictures can prove how good it looks and it sure as hell tastes as good.
The sandwich menu and options are pretty endless. -

I'm giving the store a 3 star, but the deli deserves a 4. They are on the pricier side, but they defiantly have a great BLT, the fresh turkey is excellent and egg salad is typically fresh. When you come in, grab some Portuguese bread and head to the line forming in the back left corner of the deli counter. Prices are broken out by sandwich meat n bread and then extra with add ons. Also the spicy Italian hero is excellent. They finally added an ATM a month or so ago and have improved their service as of late. Take your food south on Thompson and sit by the small park. Enjoy.

At first glance, M&O might look like your typical deli, but pay attention to the sandwich guys in the back. Pick out your favorite sandwich bread, and wait patiently in line as your sandy is assembled with utmost care. On Tuesdays, a whole fresh turkey has been roasted for your sandwich's pleasure, and Meatball Thursdays are not to be missed. Indulge your wicked hangover with a hot, fat, tasty sandwich made with peace, love and understanding.

they have taken care of me my 2-3 years worknig in Soho. They have the best Chive cream cheese. I love the cashier that worsk in the morning and one of the sons that closes the place up is cool too. He helped me out when I had a problem there once. One of the better delis if you need basics in Soho.

A friend passed me http://SpecialSandwich... which is how I heard about this unassuming deli in the first place. It's right up the block from where I work so I popped in for one of their sandwiches for lunch. For a stupid deli sandwich is was great, which is about as good as you can expect. Everything was pretty fresh, the guys making it seemed to care about it, and it was darned tasty. I've had the Fresh Turkey (tuesday's special) and the BLT (an everyday special) and both were worth going back for. Honestly if it's good enough for someone to make a website that updates every day with the special sandwich of the day that's enough for me.

great sandwich dept. fresh meats roasted daily, eg real turkey off of a bird, not coagulated cold pink meat slices. awesome breakfast sandwiches, great bread, etc etc. diamond in the rough for sure.

When I went by tonight, they had a good selection of basic fruits, organic greens, and decent, not great, prices.
