Another mall on my list of reviews and I find that I am now judging them not based on the stores, but the play areas offered for the kids. This mall has a great one. I loved the ocean theme and there is plenty of space to run around. There is also a gate to keep children for running in and out of it and I really appreciate that.
Listed in: Best ways to buy a free hour, Malls!!!

Good mall....the other reviews we saw for Pembroke sent us here instead & we were pleasantly surprised. It has a nice kids play area with a merry-go-round, plenty of good stores for everyone, and the cost varies depending on where you go.
The only reason I didn't give it 5-stars was b/c I've just been to nicer, cooler malls...but this one was just fine for a 4-5 star place. -

I've been going to this mall ever since I was two weeks old. TRUE FACT! Ask my family... my very first visit was to get my ears pierced when I was that young..
Anyway, I'm 23 years-old now and I must say that the place has progressed. From the change of department stores: back then when they had Miller Rhoad, Legget, Hecht's, Montgomery Ward, etc.. to the now Macy's, Dillards, etc... There have been some good additions/changes and some things that are bittersweet.
Some good points: They now have a movie theater and it even has an IMAX and shows 3D movies. That's a big change compared to the small AMC that used to be in the area and not part of it. The addition of Barnes and Noble and Dick's Sporting Goods is pretty good too. One can walk into those areas and not even have to experience the rest of the mall if they wanted to. Also, their additions of restaurants to the "courtyard" of the mall near the movie theaters are a good touch. Although they are not the best restaurants around, it's nice that they have them around. It shows that they have "progressed" the mall a lot.
Some points that are bittersweet: They no longer have an arcade for the kids and even older kids to play. When I was little, I used to play skeeball, whack-a-mole, basketball, etc. at "Aladdin's Castle" and try to collect my tickets so I could win candy, pens, erasers, etc. I do believe they have a new play area for children that helps them to be a bit more active, which is really great since kids need to be active nowadays, but it's just different without that little incentive I used to have as a kid.
One tip: It's not as high class as the new MacArthur Center in downtown Norfolk, but I'll say it has just about anything you'll need if you fit in Virginia Beach's stereotype - middle class so that is why I gave it 4 stars. -

As far as Mall's go, this Mall is alright. Parking is free unlike MacArther Center in downtown Norfolk and they have a great selection of stores that we shop at. We bought our Sleep Number bed from the Select Comfort store here and we frequent Pac Sun. We also hit up Old Navy, Disnet Store and a few other as well. The wife of course enjoys Bed, Bath & Beyond as well as Victoria's Secret.
The food court is also pretty good. They offer the typical fast foods such as Taco Bell and McDonald's and also have a place specializing in sweet/savory crepes and a Johnny Rocket's which I am a fan of. If you step out back they have other places as well such as Uno's Pizza. -

One of my least favorite malls. Do yourself a favor and go to their website and see how few stores actually exist. It is kind of pathetic.
The AMC theater is very nice, but everything else is below par for modern malls. Most theaters in the area are Regal.
I would suggest going to MacArthur Center. Greenbriar is worse the Lynnhaven (less shops and smaller).
There is a bigger Dick's Sporting Goods at Town Center.
The mall is not run down - it is just lacking good stores and any vibrant sense to it. Check it out, just have low expectations for shopping. There are more stores surrounding the mall than inside it. -

Lynnhaven mall used to be IT around here. I remember going there as a teenager and feeling like I was in the movie "Valley Girl."
I give them kudos for keeping it up fairly well over the years. That's not necessarily easy to do. Malls seem to become dated quickly.
But they've added shops that helped keep it current.
The design is definitely looking dated--lot of teal and brass in that main courtyard area that just screams '80s.
It does have a carousel inside of it, which is just cool.
Apparently it's still popular because a lot of times I go there and it is slam packed. The swanky movie theater they added may have something to do with that. and the fact that your choices are slim as far as places to shop around here. The only other mall in VB is Pembroke and, well..... -

This review is definitely overdue, I came here in May of last year with my sisters and cousins. This mall is "meh" they really don't have a lot of stores but then again I'm just used to the malls here in NY. I remember the only thing that I purchased here was ice cream for my nieces and sisters.
Hey, atleast the ice cream was good. -

Lynnhaven Mall really fits the demographics of the Virginia Beach--middle class targeted stores for the not too adventurous. Lynnhaven has all the standard fare and adds new "what everyone else already has" stores every day, most recently a Hollister and a Sephora. There's a few pricier stores thrown in but it definitely aims to please everyone.
I would like to see more boutique style stores in Lynnhaven. Give me a reason to only go there. Abercrombie is everywhere. -

I give this mall high marks because they have really tried to stay updated and expand over the years. The Lynnhaven Mall today is easily double the size of the Lynnhaven Mall of my youth. In the more recent years, they added on a garage and expanded a wing as well as built a new movie theater. There are never any vacant stores as well. Compare this to the run down Pembroke Mall a couple miles away and you can really appreciate the management of Lynnhaven over the years.
My favorite stores at Lynnhaven are Macy's, Sephora, Gap and Banana Republic. They have all the typical mall stores: Abercrombie, AE, Gap, PacSun, Bath and Body Works, H&M, and probably the largest Forever 21 I've ever been to.
It's funny that other reviewers have raved about the carousel. I've kinda blocked that out just because I don't have kids and there are so many stores I don't even notice it. But yea, the carousel is pretty cool, too. -

So maybe there's been some changes since the previous reviews. I walked into the mall to find a Sephora (score!), H&M, Charlotte Russe, and XXI (formerly Forever 21). Plenty of spots to occupy my time and money. There's also a pet store one end of the mall and, although I'm not a fan of buying store puppies (fear of mills), they let you play with the adorable little guys if you like and the employees I talked to were really nice.
The food court has a variety of choices to suit your taste: your standards like Taco Bell, Chik-Fil-A and Charley's, plus Japanese, Vietnamese, Italian (ok, it's just Sbarro), Filipino, and more
I didn't find it crowded at all and the new AMC is nice too. I'm not a mallrat but... I'd go again. -

This mall needs to be remodeled big time... I came here to check out some good deals on sneakers. They do have a good selection of sneaker stores, but if you want to do some good window shopping I suggest you make the drive to MacArthur Mall.

I love New York & Company and a regular there. And since I have 2 boys we spend alot of time in the play area. It is great because it is gated in and only 1 way out.
The only bad thing about it is that it can be over crowded on the weekends for obvious reasons...but overall it is a safe place to go. The merry-go-round indoors is cheap...I think only $2 to ride.

A good mall. Has most of the stores that I like, including a nice Sephora and a Forever 21 (though it was really huge and unorganized).

I have malls that are closer to me than Lynnhaven Mall, so I don't go out to it too often. However, I do like it, it's pretty huge and has plenty of stores to choose from - plus it has an Old Navy (hallelujah). There is also a Macy's, an American Eagle, Bed Bath and Bodyworks, Charlotte Russe, Wet Seal, and more. There is a play area in this mall so kids may enjoy going here as well. Probably one of the cooler things about Lynnhaven Mall is that there is a huge carousel inside, which the kids are definitely gonna love. The food court is spacious but has sort of a weird layout. This mall can get crowded on the weekend so if you'd rather avoid that then try to go sometime during the week.

This mall isn't horrible. It is just crowded. The food court had a lot of unique eateries in it- including a noddle shop where I engorged myself on some yummy Pho. However, the parking lot was atrocious. Oh my goodness! It was packed. A little too crowded for my taste. I'll stick to my Patrick Henry Mall.

This mall is cheesy and doesn't have any nice stores. If you are looking for cheap clothes - I guess there's a lot to choose from. The Macy's is small and dirty and looks more like a TJ Maxx than a Macy's. There are a lot of people just "hanging out" too. I won't go near this place at night by myself.

Ick! I hate it! Sure, the kids play areas a bit nice, but it is NOT clean. Also, the setup is kinda crazy, and the types of stores aren't very diverse.....there isn't much for kids, neither teens, nor young adults. There is an H&M, Express, GameStop, and a Regal Cinemas, but thats pretty much it. It really isn't that great of a mall. I prefer MacAruthur Center to this one.....

This mall sucks. There are NO good storesfor young adults, except for H&M and Express. The macy's shoe department is awful, the food court is nasty and the mall itself is not very well taken care of. The mall is ALWAYS crowded - so you'd think there would be better stores to shop in...there's not. It needs a makeover - stat.
