Happy Hour at Luxe offers deLUXE values!
My friend and I went for the first time for their infamous $3.60 Happy Hour. When we got there it was almost totally empty outside but by the time we left it was full (even people standing) of people - a much younger crowd than the one found inside.
It's a small very small bar area and a small outside area, so not very conducive to big groups unless you reserve it ahead of time or claim the whole outside area.
I liked how even though it was a busy HH with low prices, they still had really great service. The cocktail waiters and waitresses were really nice and the manager even was coming by to the tables seeing how things were and placing our napkins on our laps.
Next to us was a shower-party-night-thang goin' on and they had a three-tier tower of mini cupcakes (and left a bunch of them! if I never wanted to return I wouldn't have held back from scooting down the bench and gobbling up a couple), a flaming s'mores platter (it smelled incredible), and a big bowl of something covered in bubbly cheese (I don't know what it was, but based on the cheese, it looked good.) Maybe next time we'll get what they ordered, but for now... back to Happy Hour!!
We ordered the watermelon martinis and ...one of everything else on the HH menu.
Watermelon Martinis were very refreshing with fresh watermelon puree - I can see myself sipping it outside while people watching when it gets warmer.
BBQ Pork Belly and Ham Pressed Slider -- the best HH food option. One slider, cut in half, but it is pretty solid. The pork belly had a good flavor and a saltiness came through with the ham. it came on top of the spicy-garlicy-sweet-and-sour sauce.
Duck Confit Quesadillas -- lots of filling, more duck-y than cheese-y. Great flavor, my only complaint is that I which there was a crispy, crunchy element to it. They had a brunoise of minted apples, but I didn't like it with the quesadilla.
Truffle Fries -- they came in a chinese takeout box (weird presentation for this hotel); very light on the truffle taste and almost no truffle aroma. Still good, but more like 'fries with herbs' than 'fries with truffle'.
Fried Chicken Skewers -- good, moist with not too much nor too crunchy batter, with bbq sauce and spicy-garlic-sweet-and-sour sauce.
All in all, a great experience, I am definitely coming back!

My friend and I stayed here for a party. It a nice boutique feel to it, decent rooms, fairly good service. When I found out this is the only hotel on Rodeo Drive, I expected for it to be really expensive, but instead got a rate for $198/night via http://www.getaroom.com. The bar area is good, but a lot small than others I've gone to. The room was spacious and comfortable. I went to the lobby on two occasions to ask questions and the staff was super friendly each time.
This is my new favorite Happy Hour!
During Happy Hour (M-F 4:30-7:30pm), for $3.60 each, you can get a Watermelon, Cosmopolitan, Dirty, or Classic Martini, Amstel Light or Negro Modelo beer, Duck Confit Quesadillas, Truffle Fries, Pork Belly Pressed Ham Sliders, or Fried Chicken Skewers (menu subject to change)
Parking is pretty much valet only and can cost you a pretty penny so you might want to carpool here. Apparently happy hour gets pretty packed, standing room only, but for some reason we got lucky with our Monday night visit and got even luckier still when we bellied up to the bar and met our awesome bartender Scott...he really knew his stuff and was on top of his game the entire time. The service here really was impeccable. Everyone was friendly and super helpful. The manager Conrad is an awesome guy and we overheard him talking to another group in the bar area who were saying that they're "bigtime yelpers" (whatever that means) but hmmmm I didn't recognize a single one of them. Posers? Who knows, but probably not since they talked about going to get Korean BBQ after happy hour lol
My favorite happy hour items of the night were the Watermelon Martini (with pureed watermelon yum!) and omigod the Duck Confit Quesadilla. *drool* definitely a winner although I didn't taste any cheese in there (quesadilla....shouldn't there be "queso" in that?) but I am NOT complaining. The food was all plated beautifully and made for perfect finger food munching.
I grubbed down AND had 3 strong drinks for around $20. Can't beat that! See ya there next Monday!

I did not stay at this hotel.
But I ate lunch in their cafe when I visited my friend who works on Rodeo.
You would think that anything to do with the word "luxe" would automatically grant permission to hike up prices. So I was ready to pay $20 for a sandwich.
Actually i was pleasantly surprised. I ordered a grilled cheese and tomato basil combo for only $11, and it was oh-so-good. I'm not a huge fan of cheese (it's either too rich or too oily) but I guess because there were tomatoes in my sandwich and I got distracted? The tomato basil soup was so creamy I don't know where all the oil usually associated with it went. And I don't want to know... finally I found a place where the grilled cheese + tomato basil soup combo works (but the lunch combo at Pete's Cafe and Bar isn't bad either)!
It was a quick yet satisfying lunch... I also had leftovers!
The next time I find myself around Rodeo again I might just pop into Luxe's cafe if I'm too lazy to hunt for another place to grab a bite.

I haven't had the opportunity (resources) to partake of experiencing a room here at the Luxe hotel yet. Plus I live in LA so it's highly unlikely that I would ever need a hotel room here, I'm not shady like that ;-)
But I do like to frequent bar/lounges in various places, including hotels, especially if they have awesome happy hour specials! Luxe has made the list of one of my LA favs and turned me into a fan.
The bar area itself is pretty small with a little outdoor patio area near the front door. Unexpectedly friendly staff (being on Rodeo drive can have a bad connotation of snootiness) greeted my friend and I without an airs of pretention. Sleek, elegant, minimal, modern design on the interior with dim lighting makes for a quiet and comfortable place to chill with a few friends.
Now on to the good part! Being that their address is 360 Rodeo Drive, they have this happy hour that goes on Monday thru Saturday from 4:30 to 7:30pm and serves up various delish martinis, cocktails, and appetizers for $3.60 each!!! Fries tossed in truffle oil, dirty martinis, and cosmopolitans filled our tummies with delight =)
Probably one of the best happy hours in town, the crowd can be a little bouji (not sure how to spell that but you get my drift) and honestly somewhat boring hence the lack of one star.

I met friends for drinks and was impressed by the ambiance as well as the happy hour menu.
We decided to try the Restaurant Week Prixe Fix menu and that's when the trouble started. I suspect the waitress forgot part of our order since we never got it and had to ask another staff person to cancel it. Service was a bit slow but not unbearable. The food was fine but not as good as I would have expected considering the cost.
I would go back for happy hour (very quiet and low key for BH) but would not eat their since the food I had didn't knock my socks off.

The service is "familiar and lovely" but once I never received my wake up call, housekeeping ran to do room service while i was taking a shower ignoring the "do not disturb sign"..
I REALLY like their restaurant menu though...
this is the review for the bar and the bar food itself...
came here with Amber and Katherine tonight.. valet is 5 for the first 30 mina nd 2.50 for each extra 30 min
bar area is quite small.... but they have 4 or 5 tables outside in front of the hotel..
happy hour is where its at 3.60 gets you your choice of martini and your choice of food
i had the duck quesidilla truffle fries and pork slider
everything was solid.. the duck was def everyones favorite dish and the fries were flavorful thanks to the truflle oil and the slider was solid as well and the sauce that came with it was amazing as well.
had most of their martinis and the alcohol was very proper for a 3.60 drink will be back here for sho!

Pretty good boutique hotel. The rooms are very small but they are clean.
I wouldn't say the staff communicates with each other. I checked into my room early (9am) and within 5 minutes of my being in the room the door came flying open and the manager stood there, completely embarrassed. He said he didn't know I had checked in. DUH!
The restaurant serves a great iced latte and fruit plate.

I though I would be having as much fun as Axel Foley did in Bev Hills just around the corner from beautiful LAPD when I checked into this hotel...
instead...
what a lousy hotel this is
W-hotel wannabe, snobbish arsehole crib
don't be fooled by the location, cos that's all they got
there are plenty of other great hotels around there,
..like Sheraton or Marriott for business travellers
mini bar that contains only one kind of juice
a person like me who drink like fish need some juice in the morning
bathroom is slightly higher than standard
I expected something more Rodeo-Drivish thingies
the only good thing about this place is free wifi, and friendly bar staff
this hotel makes me muy toriste

My coworkers and I went here for Happy Hour. Although the hapy hour section is only the outdoor area, the bartender and the chef made an exception for our group. We were then seated in the actual restaurant which is mall.
The happy hour prices are great but the portions are small.
Service- EXCELLENT!
Drinks- Good
Cons: Not good for big groups. This place is better for a few friends.
Had to book this place at the last minute because I had to stay an extra day in the area. I haven't been to Beverly Hills since I was like 13, and I had this whole "Beverly Hills, 90210" mindset when I was here the other day. Maybe it's just me but in general, people were really nice here from the salesfolk to the locals walking on the streets. Alot nicer than and less pretentious than, I'm ashamed to say, SF. (WTF?) Hmmmm....but anyway...back to my hotel review...
The hotel isn't really that noticeable as you walk down Rodeo Drive. It looks more like a little cafe, but then you see the Luxe sign. The front desk lady (who's name just happened to be Beverly) was really nice and accomodating in helping me book a last minute room. What a multitasker she was, she was checking me in, checking another lady out and then on the phone answering someone's questions. Cool. The room itself, while small, was nice and comfortable enough for me to crash in before i caught my flight the next morning. Minus one star for the cable not working well with the local channels.
While I was checking out the next morning, I was greeted by the owner of the hotel. I think he thought I was someone he knew but couldn't figure it out. And then he introduced me to the manager who I thought I looked familiar too...Hmmmm, did I look like some heiress? dignitary, perhaps? D-list celebrity? I dunno....but they sure made me feel special!! :-)

My friend and I decided to book a last minute trip to the west coast and actually found this hotel on Yelp. I've never stayed at any other hotel in the area so I don't really have a basis for comparison but I was definitely impressed.
The staff was all wonderful, and very helpful. The rooms are good sized, bright and airy. We did however, get a room in the back overlooking the "courtyard" and there really wasn't much to look at other than the occasional group of gorg. male models (unfortunately for us though, accompanied by equally as gorgeous girl models) . Great town car service from the airport, when we wanted to check out Huntington Beach or a night out to the club. Then they served up some great room service when we were too hungover to leave our beds. But the best part was being able to go down to the little outdoor seating area overlooking Prada in the morning for our coffee before setting out to a day of major credit card burnage.
Updated:
Our last visit was not as accomodating as our first time. We were placed in a suite that had A/C problems. Then when we requested to move to another room, we were told that the A/C repairman would have it fixed by the next morning. Not true. Finally we were moved to another room. It's too bad the service was lacking this time around.
Cute boutique hotel convienently located on Rodeo Dr for all you designer diva shoppers out there! Luxe definitely delivers on bang-for- your-buck. We were lucky to get a junior suite at $295/nite -- not bad when you are in the heart of Beverly Hills. The decor reminded me of W hotel on a smaller scale. That's right -- think of complimentary green granny smith apples piled in a bowl at the check in counter and minimilistic and modern furnishings. Apparently this buidling has been around for 30+ years (previously called the Beverly Hotel?) but 6 years ago it was renovated to become the Luxe Hotel.

I thought that this was a fairly nice hotel. The people at the bar downstairs were super friendly, and totally chatty and nice. WOW! The bell-hop/front desk person was nice as well, although he was super macking on my friends' boyfriend, so that was a little funny to watch.
The hotel itself is located in the heart of Rodeo Drive, famous for all of it's shopping and a few select choices for fine dining.
It kinda made me feel like I was back at home walking around, because I live so close to Union Square in San Francisco, and there are tourists swarming the place where I live. So, this was just like a little piece of home, Beverly Hills style!

I stay here every few months because work is 2 blocks away on Camden; it's amazing how these guys live off their location. It's billed as a boutique hotel but in reality it's in the same league as a Best Western; with a much nicer lobby/bar and ridiculous prices. Yes they're on Rodeo Dr. and that fact alone sells if you're visiting L.A. for the first time with a group tour from Nashville. Plus if your Southwest flight made more than 3 stops en-route to LAX, this place will seem like the Ritz Carlton. The rooms are crampy but clean. They're also very noisy. Don't even think about turning on the A/C or the heat unless you want to hear the sound of a 737 landing. And be proactive; ask them to remove the snack basket from your room before you check-in; they are notorious for putting things like 9 boxes of Goobers on your bill, when you didn't even touch the basket during your stay. Their internet connection is not very reliable, and it will cost you $10 a day. The front desk staff is slightly pretentious, but why not? They probably live in a basement on Sepulveda and their entire self-worth hangs from the fact that they can say "Yeah I work at this place on Rodeo". Their bar is nice and has pretty decent ambiance; black & white post modern motif that gets used by fashion mags for shoots every once in a while. I caught a glimpse of one a few months ago; nothing like an army of supermodels posing with martini glasses to brighten your morning.
Room prices are unconscionable... $300+ a night minimum, and that doesn't even include parking; an extra $30 a night if you valet (the only realistic option in that neighborhood). Shop around before you book this hotel; their location is not worth spending a small fortune on a place where you're going to spend only 6-7 hrs a day/night in.

This hotel is right smack dab in the middle of Rodeo, giving it a not-too-subtle allure...but this is definitely the preferred hotel in that area for the younger set, unless you want to recreate scenes from "Pretty Woman" in the hotel down the road. The hotel restaurant (with the seating leaking onto the sidewalk) is also a great and romantic spot to grab a late dinner.

It's a nice place that's somewhat hidden. When I saw the tables pouring to the outside of the hotel, I assumed that the restaurant inside would be much bigger. It's small, but good service, and I liked my Tuna Sandwich here. It's not the best, but I'd definitely go back. A good place for a date if you're trying to avoid other people from meeting him/her. HAHAH.
As a boutique hotel at a prime location in Beverly Hills, the room rate is comparatively cheap. I stayed there twice last summer. The room is pretty small, though. Velet parking only. Free internet access, two complimentary drinks before 9:30 pm. Lots of shops and restaurants downstairs.
