Lovely ladies love Lush! Having experienced multiple good Lush experiences in other cities, I thought I would be able to exercise some self control when shopping here as my friend was going to be the first timer. Errr...wrong!

When you have amazingly wonderful people like Jessica demonstrating and informing you all about the products for an hour you can't help but feel special and lose yourself. She was fabulous in the fact that she was able to give the undivided "first time experience" to my friend, and still find new products to create a new experience to engage me with.

A must try is the hand spa experience which is a easy 5 minute 3 step process that leaves you sensationally smooth. It's lemony flutter, ocean salt, and dream cream. You definitely get your money's worth with this purchase. Other favs that are worth the buy and not just for extra frills like the bath bombs/melts, are massage bars and body bars. Preferably, strawberry fields and You Snap the Whip.

My friend and I never felt pressured to buy anything and if we ever showed any hesitance to some of the products, Jessica was quick to say, "let me give you a sample of it to take home and try." Now that's what I identify as superb customer service.

Although I got a free Karma product of my choice after spending $45, I still think the best sales and freebies come during their after Christmas sale. Just a heads up. Hopefully you'll have a first class Lush experience at this store too.

I am into showers. I love them. Having lived in places over the years that have had questionable bathtubs at best (the half-sized, moldy cedar paneled one comes to mind...) I have learned to relax in a hot shower just as well as many only can in a long bath. As my consolation prize, I fill every available bathroom surface with products, mostly shower gels. My favorite have always been from Lush. Their products are wonderful. There's nothing wrong with them. The price seems right for the quality of the ingredients and the care in manufacturing. They have a great variety of scents and something for everyone - bath lovers, shower lovers, and people who only have time to stand over the sink and disguise their greasy hair and dark circles with a swipe of something brightening and lightly scented. The products are what the three stars are for.

It's the stores that rob this review of the other two stars. I hate them! First, they're all very small and crammed to the rafters with precarious stacks of stuff. Browsing with a bag on your shoulder is borderline hazardous, and you WILL get stuck between people and circular racks, the only way out seeming to be through a cloud of glitter and shower puffs. Second - THE STAFF. What is the deal? From the second you step in, they're glued to your side and there's literally no getting away from them. I understand the fundamentals of a commission-based sales job, but this place takes it to the limit one more time. The last time I went, the sales person followed me around the store, animatedly yapping about this or that new product and shoving them in my face while I shopped. I first tried the subtle, "I'm fine, thanks!", which was totally useless, and had to resort to ignoring her questions and hands waved in my face, covered in product, giving her only the dreaded DeadFace. After struggling to find a nice way to say, "No, I don't want to stick my hands in your outrageously delicious fizzing bath salts pot (TWSS), I'm just here to buy shower gel and you're making me want to set something on fire...", I got my stuff and left (not without being forcibly upsold some scented shower discs).

If I didn't enjoy checking out the scents of some of the new stuff, I'd buy exclusively online and never set foot in a store again.

Dear Lush, CHILL OUT FOREVER. Love, Shauna.

First of all, I told them that I just had enough for what I was going for that day. Yet They still asked me if I wanted to buy other products. I decided to just go for the samples.
Second of all, please just leave me alone, I'll ask for help if I need any.
Lastly, I love Bliss Soaps more. Totally recommended.
But I will still go to Lush occasionally to pick up some toner.

I love walking past this place. It smells so fresh and so clean. I have bought some of their nicely wrapped gift sets for friends on various occasions. They have always loved them. I have only actually tried their bath balls, which were good. Sometimes the store is intimidating. There is just so much stuff and and then the sales people can be a little in your face all the time. It is a small space and can get backed so it is hard to actually look at stuff.

I love lush. I don't care much for the staff but hey what's that matter when you know what you want. It's also just as easy to order on line. But you can do a little testing at the store, and some times if you are lucky they are giving out free samples.
The bath bombs are my fave! BUTTERBALL oooh so nice.
Some of the facial soaps are kind of strange, you have to keep them in a plastic container so they don't melt along with all of the soaps. So you have to kinda keep that in mind when purchasing from them.
I am very curious, they claim you can eat everything in the store, has anyone ever tried?

After reading the other reviews I see I am not the only one who was turned off by the sales staff.  Geeeeez, Lush-lay off your employees so customers will want to shop here! I am in sales so I am aware that this sort of thing trickles down, so I don't hold it against the SAs.  It was my first trip into an actual store-but I didn't tell them that for fear of the soapbathfizzbombpoof assualt that was sure to ensue. I knew what I wanted but was bombarded by 20 different products, ended up setting down a few things because the SA said I just HAD to try this product, and that product and so on and so forth.  Needless to say, I  was completely overwhelmed, I ended up forgetting the things I came for sitting on the counter before a lemon explosion on my hand.  I just grabbed what I had in my hand and peaced out.  They were very nice, but SHEEESH. Maybe it was areally slow day?

I was super disappointed with my recent Lush soap purchase. The sign claimed, "Want to feel a tingle all over? Give yourself a rub with our stimulating sea salt body soap!"

First of all, I felt no tingles, and I was out $15 for a bar of soap that barely lasted one week! I would recommend saving yourself the dough (and a headache from the overpowering smell in the store!), and go pick up a nice organic bar of soap for $5.

Okay, so I have been a fan of LUSH for many many years.  I have ordered from Canada, paid the shipping, enjoyed the products.  Also, when I take a trip to Victoria with the hubby, this is a must-stop.  I didn't even know that there was a store in Westlake, this is all new to me.

Now mind you, I haven't bought LUSH products for about a year or so...but this shop seemed overpriced.  Perhaps the new economic downturn has forced prices to rise, but I won't be purchasing any of this stuff anytime soon.

They did have great products, as usual, just a little high.  The sales ladies on the other hand - very pushy.  One actually told me I looked confused...when I was just gawking at the ridiculous prices.

It's a shame, I actually squealed a little with delight when I saw the shop, and intended on buying a lotion bar....I was even almost convinced to pay the steep price...but the sale people turned me off, so I left empty handed.

I have a love-hate relationship with LUSH.  It goes like this...

Love: some of the products.  Mask of Magnaminty, Trea Tree Water, and Charity Pot hand cream.  I don't love the soaps as I find them drying, and the hippie packaging makes my modern, clean-lines aesthetic squirm.

Hate: the sales associates.  I'm sorry ladies, but I don't want to try whatever you're proffering.  I know what I like, please just let me buy it and be on my busy way.

I wish I could just order online, but their warehouse is across the border in BC and I hate paying for shipping when I could just walk into the store and grab it.  But then I have to deal with those SAs!  DILEMMA!

In short: I have gotten really sneaky and started looking for my favorites on eBay.  No pushy upsells and no Canadian shipping...and usually not retail prices either!  Hoo-rah.

Also?  Being in the store for too long gives me a nasty headache, not unlike the one I get from standing at the fragrance wall in Sephora.

I'm a big Lushie, and I freely admit that.  I love their natural approach to products and the fact that they are all handmade and have expiration dates.  It is true that a lot of their stuff is hit or miss but it is always fun to try things for yourself.  This store is fairly small and compact so if it is busy, prepare to be elbow to elbow with people.  The sales staff were friendly and knowledgeable.  They were excited about sharing the products with me but they weren't overly pushy.  That is always a plus in my book.  They frequently have good sales, especially at the end of the year, and often times you will get a free goodie bag with a 50 dollar purchase.  If you haven't tried their products, do yourself a favor and visit the store.  Their employees would be more than happy to outfit you with a great sampler kit according to your taste and budget.

Miss Shannon was an absolute doll! I truely appreciate her explaining the products and staying with me as I tried, sniffed, and oooh-ed over all the vegan friendly products. I picked up a masque she recommended for my skin type, and I can't wait to try it. The products are natural, and the bath fizzies look almost edible.

Shopping with my girlfriend on friday and she starts freaking out when she sees the sign for the lush store and I know that means we will be going there and I will be opening up my wallet.  Having no idea what lush was, I entered with her not knowing what to expect.  They had a huge selection of very feminine fizzy bath stuff and soaps and stuff that, well, I really had no clue what it was.
I ended up buying some cup cake scented bath stuff (I dont know what the hell it is really) for the girl and made it out of there without spending a whole lot of money.  When we got home she took a bath with her new little cup cake thingy and came out of the tub smelling like a vanilla cup cake.  She was happy and smiling which in turn makes me happy.  So thankyou lush for making this a good weekend.

Soap is alright, expensive as all hell for what youre getting; and to be honest, it doesnt last too long- if Im going to spend 12 bucks on a bar of soap, i want it to last for more than three weeks in my little soap dish before totally disintegrating. While some of the flavors and scents are alright, I dont like how many fruit and food scents there are; this is a personal preference, but I wish they had more than strawberry/vanilla-lavender/mango, so on and so forth. And the last three bars left my skin feeling slimy and dried out when I toweled off.

The staff wouldnt leave me alone, too! Granted, I new a gal that worked there, and she said that they pushed making sure eveyone was talked into trying stuff, buying the next size up, and blah blah blah.

While I believe this company is based in Vancouver, id recommend Bliss Soaps on Capital HIll, especially if youre more so inclined to support local business.

I'm a little agoraphobic when it comes to the Mall and rarely brave the crowds having spent a good portion of my life as a retail hag but  just realized through Yelp that Westlake Mall is fortunate to have added a LUSH to it's assortment.  With that and Fireworks I might actually work up the courage to come out of my retail shell!

However I have been purchasing from LUSH since the 90's before they had ventured over US borders.  They always had wonderful mail order catalogues that were creative and funny of which my husband laughingly refers to as my Bath Porn.  Which in a way is very true considering when a new one arrives, I am lost to all until I've read each ingredient of every new item and have lapped up all of their delightful descriptions and customer comments!  Then the damage to the pocket book occurs and in a few days, you will find me lost in the tub for hours, calling to the hubby for another glass of wine!

Truly though, there is absolutely no substitute for LUSH in my book.  Their selection is amazing, everything is made by hand and includes a sticker with a picture of it's maker.  They use fresh ingredients so everything has an expiration date.  They also offer Vegan items so you don't have to worry about sharing your bath with animal by-products.  You can get anything from hard shampoo and conditioner bars (which are fabulous for traveling), hand made soap, lovely bath bombs, massage bars, shower jellies, face product, lotions, deodorant, ect.  Although their products should come with a warning, "Use of these products can bring yourself, random strangers and loved ones to fits of sniffing and touching because the scents smell so good and your skin will be left softer than a baby's butt!."

I was seduced over to Lush a couple years ago, and in fact was at this location on their opening day and even toured the factory in Vancouver and wrote an article about it.

I say all this so that there is no doubt in anyone's mind that I LOVE LUSH. Because I do. I love it. So deeply.

That said, the company seems to have made a big change in their sales associate training in the last year or so because ZOMG, it's way way waaaaay too much of a hard sell now. I know what I want when I go in, and I make it clear that thank you so much, I don't need help ... but they won't leave me alone. I feel harassed and bothered. Have I heard about that discount? What about that new ingredient? Don't you just loooooove butter balls? Do you want to try this new cream?

My husband got so frustrated by the hard sell clerks the last time he went in to stock up on his Olive Branch bathwash that he intentionally bought the smallest size ... the sales clerk would NOT STOP pushing him to buy the larger size. He's so stubborn that even though he knew he needed the larger size, he refused to buy it because she would NOT SHUT UP.

So, great products ... but be ready to get a lot of attention from sales clerks who will not leave you alone, and who want to upsell, upsell, upsell. It's frustrating, especially when you love the products already.

First off, coming here made me feel as if I was cheating on my boyfriend, Bliss soaps. But unfortunately Bliss soaps happens to be closed on Tuesdays (my errand day), so  I when I ran out of my favorite natural deodorant, I had to come here.

I ended up smelling like a F**king hippie. I couldn't tell that the stuff smelled like GD patchouli because my olfactory senses were overwhelmed by the clusterf**k of aromas in this place.

Oh. And even though you bill yourself as "all natural", the shaving cream I was sold is loaded with methyl and propylparaben. Carcinogenic evils!

And you lured me into spending a sh*tload on a bunch of crap I didn't need to get a free shampoo bar and a free massage bar. All because I was lazy and didn't want to go over to capitol hill after work.

I'd give you a 2 star, but we did really enjoy that free massage bar, so what the heck- 3 stars.

Here's how it goes with Lush products, there will be hits and there will be misses. So far I have had more hits than misses. The sales people are a bit much but it can be useful when you want to try a new product, since they are only a foot away.  I always ask them to cut me a small piece. That way I can try it out and only spend a few dollars. I will say this, the shampoo bars are great and travel incredibly well.If you have dandruff issues try the Soak and Float, it is actually a bargin.  Angels on Bare skin is an excellent product. I recently ran a half marathon and their wicky massage bar and fair trade foot lotion kept me going. After running 10 miles for the first time, a long bath and a nice rubdown is heaven.

One star for making me feel special and fancy when I buy your products. One star for smelling so gosh darn good. Negative one for your pushy annoying sales people that make me break out into an awkward sweat whenever I walk in the door. Negative two for being so fricker-fracking expensive. First ran across Lush in Victoria, B.C.
Nice.
Just went into this mini-size shop today on Pine St.
Some nice smells in here - I found a violet scented soap that was nice.
Free hand lotion - and remember to pick up one of those
baseball-size fizzing bath balls!  HUGE!

Where else downtown can you SKINNY DIP IN THE NUDE with a TRAMP of a ROCK STAR in your SILKY UNDERWARE while receiving LIP SERVICE from a SWEET JAPANESE GIRL giving you ALMOND KISSES on the TEMPLE OF TRUTH?  LUSH that's where, ITS A PLEASURE TREASURE I tell you.

What do you get when you cross a stuck-in-her-ways tomboyish girl with an overcrowded grand opening for a store featuring the girliest of girly products? Did I mention said girl has a mild case of claustrophobia?

Surprisingly enough, you get one stoked girl. Never before have I been so excited by  weird smelling shampoos and gelatinous shower washes. Perhaps it was herd mentality, but I found myself squeeing along with the most obnoxious of them and even signed up for a facial from a staff member.

Now that I've accepted my new high-maintenance bath bomb requirement and multi facial cream needing self, maybe I'll hop across the street to Sephora to load up on cosmetics.

Strange things are certainly afoot at the Westlake Center.

This store is a wonderful indulgence.  I've ordered from them before and gotten gifts from them.  But now I can pick and choose whenever I want to pamper myself.

The shop itself is small but filled with a great variety of bath bombs, shower gels, shampoo bars, soap bars, lip glosses, etc.  Of course my favorite items are the bath bombs.  Yes, a tad pricey but worth the luxury.

The staff is very friendly and informed about their product.  They even introduced me to a new shower gel that smells like one of the bath bombs!  And their policy is that if you don't enjoy the product you can return it within a few days.

Apparently, good things come to those who wait. Ladies far and wide have sung the praises of the anit-animal testing, organic, fresh-ingredient, skin and body care boutique that could. After being told Lush was in Bellevue I would go deaf. No way I would go to Hellvue, eventually, Lush would have to succumb to the need of the green set in Seattle proper. Organic and not venture into the nucleus?! Naw. And thankfully, it did.

I spastically recruited two friends to brave the crowds and experience the grand opening of Lush's Seattle location. One friend being hip to the glory of Lush and one being just as inexperienced as I. Greeted with a free bath bomb, a Lush item people get orgasmic over, I had my candy and patiently waited in line to get in. Men and women alike queued up to get inside this little monster of body bliss.

On the inside I was greeted with frenzied patrons and cool as cucumber employees. The staff of Lush is diverse. (Thank you!) At every turn I was greeted with a sample and a smile as I navigated the store. Opportunities awaited my curious fingers and I obliged every taster I could. Lush is a store where handling the merch is not only welcomed but considered an insult if not done.

When a boy in love with Switzerland gives a girl a facial life is good. I adore a man who can appreciate tasty body care. We chatted a bit while my Cupcake mask did its thing. He found himself at Lush. Oh, I am rambling now, but it is all part of the adorbiousness of the store. Anyway, his girlfriend turned him on to Lush and its products. While in Switzerland he encountered someone who worked for Lush who elaborated on what a great company it is. Far and wide, people love the Lush. A company so good that people who love its products want to work for it.

Happy little products. Happy adorable people. Daily respite.

It honestly felt like Christmas for west siders when LUSH came to Westlake!  It used to be more convenient for me to have my friend whose family lives in Vancouver pick stuff up for me on his trips home than it was to get over to Bellevue to go to LUSH.  Not anymore.  Now I could walk by LUSH three (or more) times a day if I wanted to since I work two blocks away!  Two blocks!  This is almost more soothing to me than having a huge life insurance policy or a full time body guard or something.

For the unititiated, let me put a warning out there.  Before you try LUSH, be sure that you have some extra income that you don't know what to do with.  LUSH breeds addictions which stem from the incredible happiness that their products impart... do they put crack in those bath bombs?  Or is it just lavender?  And not only do the products perform awesomely, the company itself is a do-gooding, environmentally responsible, humorous company, which makes me happy on a whole other level.  Happy to give them my money!

LUSH at Westlake is a little fishbowl of a store, glass on all sides, and crammed full of towering tables of bath bombs, soaps, lotions, potions, massage bars, lip balms, shampoo, condish, etc.  My favorites are the Butterball and bath melts.  Indulge!

Why in the name of all that smells flowery did I spend almost $20 on two bars of soap?!
Because I'm weak and I like to smell pretty.  I like this place and it has never failed me when it comes to finding that perfect something for a fellow pretty soap loving friend.
The only downside is that the Lush stores are a little small and overwhelming after awhile.  It's still worth it.

Yesterday I was walking home from work, and this fragrant breeze swooshed around me.  And again, swoosh, right there at 3rd and Pine.  What the...oh wait, I've got it, LUSH must have opened!  And oh happy happy day, there was the new Lush shop!  No more jaunts to Vancouver and Bellevue to indulge in those luscious bath bombs!

The scents range from outspoken florals to heady spices to spirited citruses and more.  They sell soaps by the pound, but there are always a few small soap-dish sized pre-wrapped (& priced) pieces, which is very handy if you can't decide just how much you want.

Lush has moved into skincare in the last few years.  Their super-fresh standout is the facial masks, which are made on site by the staff.  Each mask has a little sticker with the maker's name & avatar and the expiration date (they last about a week).  NOTE:  Be sure to get your stampcard; buy 5 masks & the 6th is free!

The staff is friendly and knowledgeable; if you've been to Lush before, you know this goes without saying.  If you're overwhelmed by the scents, colors, and soap names (Demon in the Dark, Ooh La La, Catastrophe Cosmetic, Love Lettuce), just follow their recommendations.  You can't go wrong!

I kinda wanna give lush a 1 star but I can't bring myself to do it.... here is why I dont like lush (despite my 4 stars).

Every time I walk by the place or come with a 1/2 mile radius (that is when you can first smell it) I am drug in there by Gamz and we soon after leave with a number of wonderful bath/soap etc products and much MUCH poorer.  These wonderful things are then placed somewhere and forgotten about until we visit again to lighten my wallet and remember oh yeah after we try these NEW ones we are going to buy right now we should find those old ones we have.....  REPEAT.

Lush is an entire world of it's own. There's something about it that sometimes makes me drop $12 on a chunk of soap (whereas at Costco I can get 12 bars, or a huge pint of liquid soap at the local co-op).

I think it's just the concept of having organic (mostly) and vegan (some) soaps that make taking a bath/shower fun. It all literally goes down the drain but it's for the fun of it.

The only thing I get is the demon in the dark and that sand soap where you get soap with actual sand in it so you can buff your bottom (or whatever they recommend in their catalogue like the Brazilians do).

The mailing list is pretty decent, you get updates on 'store parties' and make RSVP so you can get all LUSH-ed up. I've never gone, because you have to spend something like $45+ to get a free gift or whatever.

Dear Lush,

I love you. I love how you smell, how you feel on my skin...if only your products were edible, I'm sure I'd love how they taste. You are my best friend forever. I will never ever love another bath store the way I love you. I know I've been with Bath and Body Works, and the Body Shop, before, but that was before I knew you, and it meant NOTHING to me. What we have is real and true and lasting. Thank you for being awesome. And smelling fabulous. I get sad because when I visit you I'm broke afterwards, but then I have you at home and that makes me so happy. Thank you, my dear Lush, for being you.

Hugs and Kisses, and I'll see you after all my Christmas-gift-stock runs out,

C. Stan

I swear, you can be anywhere in the world, and you're know instantly if there is a Lush within a few blocks of where you are.  That beautiful scent that all Lush stores emit is like a beacon to the Lush addicted.
Thats right, I'm a guy...who's addicted to Lush. Blame my girlfriend.  I love their guy-oriented stuff, as well as the occasional bath bomb. Just don't tell the Man Club, they'll revoke my card.

I went in to ask with any of the products were wheat and oat free. Sure, as a Celiac, I can't get sick unless I eat something. There is always the chance I will lick my fingers after lotioning, or something, so it's still important.

I was pleasantly surprised when I asked the staff, and they immediately pointed out the couple products that had oats in them. I hadn't even listed oats, yet, so having that knowledge presented so quickly was comforting.

Sure, it's pricey, but I bought a shampoo bar, and two lotion bars. I love them. The products themselves are among the best that I have bought. I usually go to small crafters for my goods, so that I know exactly what's in them. I have to say Lush products are like the small crafter, at it's best.

I will continue to buy products from Lush. I'm totally sold on it.

Overpriced, staff not friendly or knowledgeable about the products they sell... they are only trying to upsell you. Soap is VERY expensive. They use a host of nasty ingredients. I used to shop here but have since Discovered Bliss Soaps (FAR better.) Also, Lush is a corporate chain who doesn't treat their employees very well (as evidenced by their non caring attitudes.) I will spend less money on better products elsewhere. Don't buy into the hype ladies! Also, they have changed their fragrances to perfumes at some point, I can no longer enter the store because my perfume allergies kick up.

Reasons I love Lush:

1.  The Silky Underwear makes me feel nice in a naughty sort of way.  Rawr, baby!

2.  The jellies, while strange and slightly unnerving, feel fantastic on my scalp when I've been running and they've been hanging out in the freezer.  The blue one, who's name has slipped my mind, has a nice, refreshing, citrus-y smell.

3.  The "Helping Hands" lotion.  I work in health care and wash my hands a ka-jillion times per day, which leads to skin that would put an armadillo to shame.  I kid you not.  That lotion is not only not-offensive-smelling (I can't wear strong scents to work), but it WORKS LIKE A CHARM.

I have sensitive skin (in a big sort of way) and I've never had a problem with their products.  I'm not as much of a fan of their lip balms, but who cares?  The Helping Hands lotion more than makes up for that.  It also makes up for the overwhelming scent of the store.

I'm sure this has to be in here somewhere - but I don't see it.. WHY???

Since a trip up to Victoria I have been in love with the items I dutifully stashed away in my carry ons - somehow feeling like I was breaking the law with transporting all of this natural goodness across the border (along with a cuban stogie for the ole man - shhhhhhh).

Lush touts an all natural skin care regime - many products are vegan.  The bottom line is all natural folks!  I've only had a chance to try a few products but I am definitely a "for lifer"

The facial "soaps" are awesome - took some getting used to what with making the pastes but it leaves my skin soft and clear - the lip balms (I like Honey Trap) are tasty yummo - and the bath soaps (I've tried Demon in the Dark - a minty one, and Honey I Bathed the Kids - another honey milk conction) leave you with skin so soft there is no need for lotion.

Alas, cost can be an issue.  You can't expect to pay only a few dollars for such wonderful products (especially when they work) and you'll be looking at paying a pretty penny.  I dropped 28 dollars for a toner (Breath of Fresh Air - rosemary goodness) and my lip balm.

ON TO THE HAIR PRODUCTS!!! More to come

Staff is friendly and helpful. They were having a jelly war with the new shower jelly so they gave us a sample for putting up with them.

Nice stuff that doesn't have overpowering perfumey scents. Gotta have Sympathy for the Skin (great after shaving or just cuz)!
