Absolutely great stuff! Almost all organic - my skin and hair have never been in this good of shape. Great staff, a little pushy, but overall nice. The prices, I find, are pretty reasonable on about 75% of their items - some are overpriced, but as a whole, they're not too hard on the wallet.

I love LUSH too!
I first ran into a store in DC and had to start going to become a regular of the stores here in NY. For those with sensitive skin, this store is the ultimate dream. I love, love, love the Heavenly Bodies soap- it's Orange chocolate truffle and it smells sooo good and has my apartment smelling great too. It's an amazing moisturizer. I also would very very highly recommend the Pied de Pepper foot cream- I use it everywhere, though, It's full of delicious smelling, MOISTURIZING natural oils.
Did I mention that everything is natural? For those of us who are into knowing what goes into/onto our bodies and being able to pronounce the ingredients, LUSH is the best choice. No alcohols or irritants that can dry you out. Their products are luxurious and natural without feeling all patchouli and hemp.
My ultimate favorites are the masks (they tone!) and the Sympathy for the Skin body cream. It is the best moisturizer I have ever used and I have dry, stubborn skin- not oily but gives a really luscious, healthy glow that lasts all day.
I love LUSH, every girl needs to try it.
i loooove lush. LOVE IT! ocean salt is by far my favorite a great scrub i would buy it by teh gallon if i could. if you like something fancy for the bath i love youki-hi turns teh bath to a beautiful pink glittery party :)
for soaps i love the sexy peel, and sandstone - iceblue is great for summer and teh gym.
i also really like the solid shampoos they arent drying and they travel easily . and teh each peach massage bar is great for travel too - can you tell ive had shampoos and lotion ruin my luggage before ;) hahaha!
i like to look on their site and see when they are having promotions so you can get a little extra ;) and this way i can try new stuff. they are usually cool about giving samples too if u ask nicely :)

Lush products are just crack addictions with bubbles. That smell good. Must..not..eat. @_@
I go to this store when I need a pick-me-up after a crappy day. I love going around and sniffing things like a total retard (but how else can you choose?). I usually end up buying more than I came in for, but it always ends up like that, doesn't it? And then...THEN, my fingers smell wonderful on the train home, and I have to pretend I'm holding in a sneeze so I don't sit there blatantly sniffing my fingers the whole ride.
Don't give me that look. You do it too.
This particular store is centrally located on 34th and Broadway (directly around the corner from the subway), so it's very easy to get to. The only downside is that the store itself is a bit small...but then again, most Lush stores are.
Great staff, too. They go out of their way to make sure everyone in the store has the help they need. It's rare to see a place in the middle of Manhattan that *cheerily* welcomes and attends to each and every customer individually - even when the place is crowded. Sure, they can be kind of annoying at times, but you can simply tune them out until you actually have a question.
Some general advice:
Don't buy Lush products online - go to one of the actual stores. Why? You can't "preview" (i.e. sniff) things through your computer, and that detracts from the whole experience of buying Lush stuff in the first place. Plus in stores you can get on-the-spot advice, how-tos, and recommendations from the staff, which is so much better than playing it by ear with the meager descriptions they give online.
ALSO:
For those who balk at the higher prices, you gotta keep in mind - this is organic, fresh stuff. And despite what some of the descriptions of products say about lasting for 2-3 baths, in reality their stuff lasts much, much longer. You really do get your money's worth in the end. (Unless you make your own soaps at home, but who has the time for that?)
Recommendations: Karma & Comforter bubble bars, Sex Bomb and Honey bath bombs, and I Love Juicy & Happy Hippie shampoos. Yum.
STAY AWAY FROM ANYTHING WITH GLITTER.

I'm another Lush addict. Their products really work for me. I found it helpful to go to their website and figure out what i wanted before going to the store since they have reviews for every product.
At first I thought it was expensive, but everything I've bought really lasts (as long as you're not clumsy I suppose). I particularly love the karma soap and herbalism cleanser.

I LOVE LUSH. I fell in love with it in London years ago and almost had a heart attack when I found out they were opening stores in the States. Yes, the store is small and ALWAYS seems crowded and overheated. Yes, the stuff is kind of expensive and the bath products don't last very long (the hair and face stuff lasts much longer). But the products are all natural and very fresh (they come with expiration dates!), and a shopping trip to Lush always makes me happy! (Even if it means I have to go near that godforsaken Manhattan Mall.)
I know what you're saying: a guy is reviewing Lush? oh honey, yes i am!
where do i begin? okay, i've only ever bought one thing, and it was Seanick bright blue shampoo bar. But once its in my hair, its divine. I never thought that a shampoo bar would leave my hair feeling smooth and silky like, uh, silk. but it did and it does.
Its a very small place. to put it in perspective, the kitchen at my parents place is bigger than Lush. thats how small it is. But there is so much to look at, so much to browse through. And the smell as soon as you walk in, wowzers!
so take it from a guy's guy like me: Lush is manly with a capital M. of course, i'm always the only guy in there but what the hell.

I have been a Lush addict for quite some time, but never felt the need to yelp because my obsession is more about the products than the store. But I came in here yesterday in a foul mood and found myself immediately whisked out of it by the sweet and knowledgeable salesgirls. They had great ideas, weren't insulted when there were things I wasn't interested in and loaded my bag with almost as many free samples and products as things I was purchasing. I would highly recommend Lush products to anybody and everybody and if you're in NY, I would highly recommend picking them up here.

I'm a very low-maintenance, no-frills, no-time-to-moisturize kind of gal, so I probably would not have given Lush a second glance if I had walked by on my own. A friend, though, pulled me in for a quick-stop to buy his aluminum-free deodorant and came out with a shopping bag full of bar-shampoo, an exfoliant made of coal, and all sorts of other curious bath supplies.
This said friend stayed with me for a week while in between apartments, and while he wasn't looking, I snuck test-runs of his bar-shampoo, and coal-scrubber thing. Maybe it was the novelty of these 'naked' products, as they call them, or voluntarily rubbing coal all over my face to supposedly -clean- it, but a seed was definitely planted.
The next week my friend took me to the store and told me to go wild as a thank-you for letting him crash on my couch. Yes, the store clerks are a little so in-your-face-super-peppy that you wonder how many of the soaps and face masks they've been eating ("Look, and you can use this toe-cream as a lip balm too, because it was bees-wax in it!"), but it does come in helpful when you haven't been in the store before. It's a little overwhelming to navigate the big blocks of lavender and patchouli soap when you don't have a guide, even an uber-peppy one, by your side.
The products themselves are really quite nice, as well. The Mud Flat soap I bought smells like a rainforest, and the Little Japanese Girl exfoliant really works that whole scrub & moisturize action once you get over the fact that you're rubbing a bar that resembles a little japanese girl's face into your facial crevices to work those blackheads out.

I'm a huge fan of LUSH, which is funny because I used to hate LUSH. The smell of the store is overwhelming, but once you're in, you understand.
The quality is outstanding, and worth the price (it's allll natural). More expensive than drug store products, but cheaper than department store products. I always take samples before I buy, which is a nice bonus.
Here are my reccomendations:
- Alkmaar Soap
- Smitten Hand Cream
- Fresh Farmacy!!!!!
- Coalface
- Angels on Bare Skin
- Almond and Coconut Smoothie
- Fever Massage Bar
They're remodeled this location too!!!
Mmmmmmm....soap! Yummy! Oh wait..no...errrrmmm...but it does smell real nice. And then I use it and it makes me smell real nice too (until I hit summer rush hour on the 2/3, of course, but hey, no soap can contend with that).
I love the bath balls, even though I don't take baths, but they make good gifts, although now that I think about it, it's also the kind of gift that says "you smell funky" but hey, it smells so good, maybe people understand.
The price is something to contend with, for sure, but you don't find stuff this good in the bargain bin at Walmart, k?

My favorite! I use their soaps, face bars (leaves my skin so incredibly smooth), and the vanilla salt toothpaste! My little sister (8 years old) loves the stuff, too. I want to try the line of hairproducts and the new jelly soaps!! I didn't give all 5 stars because sometimes the saleswomen are a little annoying.

My friends dragged me into this store exclaiming "OMG! You haven't been to Lush?!" Seriously, I don't know how I survived this long.
What to rave about first? The products are all natural and look, smell and feel incredible. I'm in love with the Demon in the Dark soap, which smells of mint and apple juice! The store is set up for touching and sampling. Another plus is that the salespeople are welcoming, helpful, and responsive. Unlike some boutique employees who adopt a cooler-than-thou attitude, these ladies (and gentlemen) seem to really enjoy what they do.
To conclude: Lush is pricey, but aren't you worth it?
I love LUSH. The products great and smell really nice. The only thing keeping me from giving them five stars is the fact that their bath bombs are a little too perfumed and often hard to clean out of the tub (they're always glitter or something in them).

Lush is what Aveda wishes its products could be; so instead Aveda spends all their money on packaging to make up for it.
I love that Lush is preservative free, doesn't test on animals and all of their products are great that I've tried.
What I don't love is the crap packaging (only because oftentimes I end up spilling or dropping copious amounts of product) and the price? eh, not so much..
but I give Lush 5 stars for walking their walk and talking their talk: high quality effective ingredients and crappy packaging.

Looking for a present for a lady love or any hard to please female friends? Your mom? Your boss? Look no further than Lush. Follow your nose (not that gyro smell fool!) once you get off the train & you'll find yourself right in front of Lush.
I used to work as a shop assistant for Lush in Covent Garden London over 10 years ago when it was their second shop outside of Poole. It was my favorite of all my jobs, i got to work directly with the owners/creators. A number of them used to work with the late Anita Roddick but left to form their own company on creative differences. They also told me they'd never go back to the US after their other startup company Cosmetics to Go went under. So it was a happy surprise when they finally ended up in NY.
Back then i used to get plenty of stuff discounted or for free so i was a little surprised to realize that it's actually a tad pricey... Anyway my sure bet winners are the almond paste face scrub, cosmetic warrior (the garlic face mask), and the calamine soap... and of course the bath bombs (although i'd avoid the ones with flowers in them as they make a big mess).
One caveat: Lush is NOT preservative free. If you are uber-paranoid about parabens or other chemicals in your cosmetics read all the labels first because a few of their products do have preservatives in them. Still they use WAY less than kiehl's, that other 'natural' cosmetics store. The only company I know that doesn't use ANY is Burt's Bees. Too bad Burt doesn't have a store...

I AM ADDICTED!!!!!!!!!
Every single inch of my body is covered in Lush products right now.
I use the shampoo, conditioner, massage bars, body butters, creams, jellies, soaps- everything!
I find myself thinking about going there while I'm at work. Maybe taking a lunch shopping break, or leaving work a little early to browse the store.
Oh, it's just so delicious.

I discovered LUSH while in London a few years ago, and with the "fake money" by the time I realized how much I was really paying for soap, it was too late - I was totally hooked!
I'm so excited to be living in a place with LUSH again - I love their soaps and bath bombs. The bath jelly is a fun experience, especially if you keep it in the freezer.
Their stuff is expensive, but I just splurge now and then when I'm having a crappy day...!

While the products are really good, the staff is insanely annoying. I used to buy these products online and had to pay an arm and a leg for shipping and I was happy NYC got a LUSH location but the staff itself just rots. While they are excited to be doing their job and in-your-face-friendly, they have poor communication and flow as a sales team. I say this because I was asked, during one 20 minute shopping trip, "Have you shopped in out store before?" 25 different times by 7 different employees. It was ANNOYING!!
The products themselves are fabulous. Pricey, yes, but you get what you pay for. Quality, vegan, natual & preservative free as well as effacious products that work WELL.
If you're the type who likes to be left a l o n e while you browse, I suggest buying these splendid products online.

Might as well face it, I'm addicted to LUSH. I'm a huge sucker for fancy bath and body products, and Lush's products are damn fancy. I have to force myself to only go here once every month or so, just so I don't buy up the store. The products are expensive, it's true, but I've found the price I've paid has been worth it considering the quality of the product and how much use I've gotten out of it. For example, an 8.4 ounce of Cynthia Sylvia Stout shampoo (my favorite! It's made with irish stout beer and lemon and makes my hair shiny and soft) may cost $15, but a little of the product goes a long way, so I've gone nearly six months on one bottle. Same goes for other things, like the soaps, shower gels, and conditioners, and it's all *really* quality stuff. I'm definitely a customer for life just based on their hair products; nothing has ever made my hair look and feel so nice.
The store is tightly packed and usually a little overwhelming, but it doesn't have that kick you in the face wall of scent of some other bath product stores. The clerks are, to vastly understate it, very enthusiastic. A friend of mine refers to them as "the Lush clerics", because they tend to have that sort of wild-eyed frantic devotion like an initiate of a church hungry to make a convert. ...But, as weird as they might be, they've always been helpful and polite. I came Christmas shopping here for my mom and sister-in-law, and as soon as one spritely cleric saw me dazedly staring at the bath bombs, she was quick to ask who was shopping for and guided me to some gift sets that were huge hits come Christmas morn.
My only sadness is that I can't get more use out of the bath bombs. They're fun and fizzy and colorful, and leave you smelling and feeling nice, but I've just not got a bathtub worthy of the experience. Stupid tiny Manhattan bathtubs!

Okay, Lush products are freakin' expensive, but they're also really really great. I love that it's all vegetarian, preservative free, handmade, and extremely pleasant to use. Although buying a product from LUSH is always a splurge, it is a splurge that will make you feel like you're splurging over and over again every time you use your exquisite bar of soap or whatever, so I think it's well worth it because you get like 30 splurges for the price of one.
The staff can be a bit overfriendly, and I don't know how they get people to stay this chipper in New York City. Luckily, all you have to do to get them to back off is snarl a little.

Very nice store, a bit cramped. I've sampled a few of their products before. But oh my god, whichever yelper said that the scent of the store doesn't hit you in the face, I disagree.
I might have a sensitive nose, but being in that store for the five minutes I was there almost made me pass out. Just all the smells and open soaps at once. When I stepped back outside into the 20 degree air, it was like a healing wind flowing into my lungs. The heater being on so high might have made it worse. If it was summer or spring, the air conditioner wouldn't have made the smell so overbearing.
I will admit that the fresh face masks on ice looked really tempting, and if I had more money on me that day, I would have bought a tub.
The website has everything the store does, except the fresh masks. They often have sales on their products. But don't buy the gift sets! Do the math- it's way cheaper to buy all those products on their own. You're paying a premium for packaging and wow factor. Just a tip.

Where else would I go for fragrant, jasmine-scented bath bombs and honey lip balm?
Coarse-looking slabs of neon-bright soaps and other bath products at somewhat high prices. I see customers there, tho don't know if they buy. I haven't yet, after several visits.
Dumbo service: When I responded to her question that I had been in the store before, the salesperson replied "Awesome!"
Although the prices are pretty ridiculous as other reviewers have pointed out, the stuff is addictive. Everything smells edible. Sitting in the tub with one of those bath bombs is ultra relaxing. The smell is enhanced by the steam of the hot water, and they make your skin feel so soft that it's like it's melting. I have incredibly sensitive skin so I can rarely use any bath products or smelly soaps and bubbles. But these have never adversely affected my skin. If the prices were lower I might actually purchase lush products on a regular basis. Of course, Lush has some sentimental value for me because the first time I discovered one of these stores I was in Venice . . . and there, everything was amazing!
Overpriced bath products with an over-zealous staff. It's a moneyed tourist trap!
