Fabulous fabulous.  I love the whole area this is in.  If you haven't tried LUSH you're missing out.  It's an international company that handmakes their products from fresh organic materials without any animal products or testing.  Yipee!  I may be vegie, but I can't give up leather shoes, so this is my way of negating that.  Like how planting a tree instead of giving up driving supposedly evens your karma out, ya know?  Anyways, very helpful staff, and as I pointed out earlier, rocking location.  The BIG shampoo and American Cream conditioner have been keeping me pretty for awhile now. I love me some LUSH.  check it out

Now you may not know this, but some chicadees call me PatrickLushhhhh every now and then. So I was kinda excited to be in the store. The moment I walked in, my nose was on fiyuh. It was like taking four hits of coke.

After the big adjustment, they have a lot of nice things for a lot of money. Ohhhh what? SALE? Ok. I dont know if everythings on sale here always, but we got some good deals. bath bombs, buy 1 get 2 free. massage bar, buy 1 get 1 free. Definitely a steal. Bath bombs make a cute bath, the bar melts right in your hand with lotion goodness. I'm not all lavish and womanly, but I might be back.

LUSH is my anti-drug! I am like a kid in a candy store every time I step foot in here!! I could easily drop a whole paycheck in this place. It's expensive but SO worth it. Who needs to buy food and clothing when you smell like "angel's delight" and the boys can't get enough of you! I have given lots of little gifts to friends from here over the years.

The staff here is absolutely in love with the products and so helpful! I've actually spent 30+ minutes with some of those gals picking out the perfect combo for a bubble bath. My usual picks include, Sakura, Sex Bomb, and my new favorite Sultana of Soap. Angel's Delight soap is only available around the holidays so I make sure to stock up. I try not to get the bath bombs that have glitter, confetti or rose petals because I don't want to clean up that hot mess after a relaxing bubble bath.

They only lose one star for discontinuing my Ginger Soap without giving me any warning via email. Oh LUSH, why?!!!???? Well, they were kind enough to respond to my letter of concern over my loss.

R.I.P. Ginger!

***UPDATE 3/17/08:

OK, so LUSH gets 5 Fabulous & Gorgeous stars now after I just tried the skin care products this week!

I saw results with these products after just two days! Fresh Farmacy soap is the best facial cleanser. The Cosmetic Warrior face mask really calms my skin and doesn't crack like a clay mask when it dries. Big thanks to the sales guy for getting me a sample of Ocean Salt face scrub. I'm addicted!! It makes my skin look so fresh and feel incredibly soft. My friend even complimented that my skin seemed to just "glow"! ;-D

The best part is that it's so much more affordable than the high end skin care products I've been using AND it works even better! I love everything about this store. All the products make me feel gorgeous!

I was turned onto Lush by a friend who traveled a lot to London and would always bring me back some of their amazing bath bombs. Since then, I longed for day when there would be a Lush within walking distance of me and here it is!

While I haven't been to any of the other SoCal Lush stores, I can say that the staff here is really so NICE and extremely helpful - and not in a condescending way. Normally, I go right in and I know exactly what I want but the last time I went in I wanted to get my VERY metro older brother some products for xmas. Seeing as I'd only tried the super girly stuff there, I was basically clueless on what to buy for a man. Rene, the asst manager came to the rescue. He showed me the Overhaul gift set that had all sorts of junk (hybrid shampoo bar, tramp shower gel, wiccy magic muscles & ambrosia shaving cream) for dudes that I knew my brother would be into & use. He loved everything so much that since xmas, he's made me a list of what to go back & buy him!

I absolutely love that on any given day the staff is out front on the sidewalk giving free facials, samples of masks, lotions, soaps, etc. Also, while the products are a bit expensive they do often have sales & promotions like (I think )on Wednesdays the masks are all 2 for 1. Can't beat that!

This is probably like the 10th Lush store I've reviewed, because I love their products oh so much. But it took some time for this Lush to grow on me, just because I find the layout a little cramped-if there are more than 2 customers in the store, it actually gets hard to navigate. That said, the staff is so friendly and helpful here that I've converted and find myself strolling over and spending obscene amounts of money on my lunch hour. They have so many great promotions that are so hard to avoid! And the products really are fantastic-I love that they're all natural. I'm a huge fan of the solid shampoos in particular and the Magic Muscle lotion bar, but I've yet to try something dissatisfying here. Check the website for promotions too before you head over.

One day while walking down Beverly my mother and I saw Lush and immediatly jetted over the lanes of (for once) fast moving traffic. I grew up in the UK with Lush and I remember being 8 and fascinated with something that would bubble and turn the bath blue. The  products are so great, i love the shampoo and the bath bubbles. The cute little gift boxes for christmas are a good idea too, the smallest being around 10 dollars and with two gifts inside. Love this store!

I am a broke-ass girl who should be buying her product at Rite-Aid and Target only, but my shower is fully-stocked with LUSH and the reason is that I'd rather eat canned soup for a month than go without my LUSH.

Thing is, even though the stuff is pricier than your average discount store, the ingredients are top-quality, and everything lasts forever. I've barely made a dent in their Smitten lotion, which is the first lotion this oily-T-zone girl has successfully used! O glorious day!

On top of all of that, their sales staff are all really awesome and helpful and ready with advice just like that. And like others have said, you can try pretty much anything out, so you know you're leaving with a product that'll make you happy!

They have Lush in Beverly Hills?  YAAAAAY!!!  The first time I saw this store was when I was in Wellington, New Zealand, and I got myself a bath bomb.  It's like Alka Seltzer for your tub, and it's AWWWWWEsome.  Of course, I got totally into my fizzy baths and didn't know what to do when I ran out.  But now I can just pop by the BH and get me some more.  Isn't life grand?!

LUSH people are very ecstatic about their products. I know why too.  The employees are very helpful and knowledgeable. They will help you find a product right for you. Don't be afraid to ask if you can try something out. I know it's hard to just throw $10-60 on a new product. It is for me at least!

I love their Herbalism, Cynthia Sylvia Stout, Rehab Shampoo, American Cream, Retread, and their lotions are great too.

How, I ask did this dear place land on Beverly Drive?

Why, I ask did I walk by so many times and never enter?

Most likely because it was on Beverly Drive.

I guess the only place a luxurious producer of , fresh, handmade cosmetics & bath products made of organic ingredients can sustain is on Beverly Drive? The world is filled with oxymorons, right?

Every free loven liberal in the world should love this blessed place. The mission statement reads something like this . . . we believe in making effective products, made out of fresh organics . . . buying from companies who do not do animal testing but testing on humans. . . we believe in long candlelit baths . . . you get the picture.

So, why do I love it? Im one of those blues. I believe in global warming, i recycle, eat organic, drive a mini, use energy efficient light bulbs. again, you get the picture.

This is one company I can really get behind.

First off, I LOVE their product.
The two unstarred stars are because:

1) I hate their locations. The only places I hate worse than Beverly Drive are a) Universal Citywalk, and b) Santa Monica. So, Beverly Drive it is.

2) Their hair products are not-so-good for dry, curly hair, because they insist for whatever reason on using Sodium Laureth/Lauryl Sulfate even in their conditioners.

3) Their overly helpful sales staff.

Now, I realize from the consistency with which I have been the unhappy recipient of this hyper-selling behavior that this is probably what the LUSH staff are made to do, but I hate it. After I'm asked if I need any help, I prefer being left well enough alone to browse and sniff happily. Also, like Amy S., I am a broke-a**ed m*therf*cker who has no business on Beverly Drive, or spending $5 on a fizzy thing to put in one (1) bath.

Therefore, I do NOT need to be shown other products I may like (not in my budget), asked do I need any additional Lush poo to smear on my temples or my lips, or wouldn't I like to buy the next size up (yes) because it will save money (no, you cannot save money by spending money). So give me my midget bottle of Tramp, my half-assed Butterball bath bomb, and whatever else I like that you're about to discontinue (yes, they have a nasty habit of doing that, too), take my measly $50 and leave me ALONE, thank you very much.

Oh yeah, and they don't take checks, either...or maybe just not from me.

Um, Lush, where have you been all my life? I happened upon my first Lush experience today, and am very pleased I did.  Bath bombs, bar soaps, lip balm, refrigerated containers labeled "Cupcake"-- what more do you need? The lady working there was super friendly and helpful, and gave me three free bath bombs with my purchase, and a honey detox treatment (oops I forgot to put it in the fridge!).  Cute, already wrapped gift boxes w/ ribbons make for the handy impromptu hostess or birthday gift.  All natural, fresh scents, handmade...The packages even say who packaged them up and when they expire. I'll definitely be back!

Dear Yelpers,

Well....It's damn loveable, all right!

The people at Lush are SO genuinely upbeat and nice round the clock that I can only assume that they must be high off of the- powderpuffin musk- wundercrackish but mystifyingly unoppressive and unique fumes of their wares. Mounds and slabs of organic and cruelty-free bath, body and hair potions are splattered and wedged like cow patties and loaves of beer-bread about the joint. It's a cross between a spendy cheese shop and the candy garden at the Wonka Factory.

Not bad, not bad....

All right - I'll be completely honest....
....For a moment (or ten),  I found myself wondering if they'd let me live there and work beside them in their woody, woody wonderland...as an elfish underling that got to splash about in their soap flakes...I'm contentedly employed, but the siren-like lure of the looming Lush Scent orgasmically intertwined with the alluring but perplexing aura of both oddity and glee wafting from the shop to the sidewalk got me giddier than a garden gnome next to a Silly Slide.

But back to reality....

If you are a bit of a germaphobe, like I am....you might hesitate to bring home a face mask that has been sitting, fetid and Flubber-like, all day in a heap waiting for you...that's been perused by every family of fourteen that wanders by the open garage-door and windowless - shop....But I get the feeling that once you pick your poison, they fish it out of a fresh, sealed container in the back or one of the many mini-refrigerators they have happily humming about. One would have to inquire - But there are plenty of Body-Shop style plastic bottles and wrapped items to buy that are lined up neatly like tin-soldiers amid the wreckage.

I picked an orange (and I use the term orange, loosely - it was more of a mandarin-Tang cocktail fiesta delight) 3 in 1 wash in a snuggly travel size container last year. I returned to Lush to find a new one when I arrived back in town. They no longer carried the scent....Initially, this baffled me (as I couldn't imagine anything smelling or working any better) - until I realized -  while traipsing among the entirely natural "Candy-Fluff" flavored non-talc-um powders with a whisper of opalescent Childlike Emperor-ish shimmer (I'm not making it up - that really is the sort of thing they have - Yes, as Pangloss said, This is the Best of all Possible Worlds)...there's more to be had where that came from....whatever olfactory genius crafted my original shampy had undoubtedly invented a brand-new slew of ambrosia-like goo......
One for me....and one for you!

Love,

Yelp-like and FancyFree

PS:

My boyfriend just threw things at me (they're soft, but unpleasant) and said that it sounds as if I'm either making it all up or seven hours deep into an LSD trip. Then I told him that it's all about the Lush store (and had to pantomine what the hell it was because he is a just a man...) - He then said, oh...well, then, you're right.

And I am.

PPS: If you are a truly learned health nut, you may be baffled by some of the store's ingredients. I noticed two kinds of parabens in one of their shampoos. The recipes are far healthier than whatever ant poisons the average person is currently souping up with in the shower...but purists may be miffed by certain solutions.

Bathing is a SIN ever since I got hooked on their stuff. At first you got there like so "what's so special about this?" ringing around you....but try one bath bomb, you will need another. I found out the "Sex Bomb" and the like has put lotion inside so that it really soften your skin and some other kinds will have twinkie flakes, poem scroll, or petal flakes for your sweet indulgence. A few suggestions to shop smart is to ask them for sample. All their SA are super friendly and they like to make sure you understand their products in a religious sense so you will get hooked on like me. Seriously, I should tell you all is that their stuff can make your tub really messy. So, that is the only friendly warning.

The girls in my house cannot resist any cosmetic/bath/beauty store.  We first found LUSH in San Francisco.  I bought big bath bombs for my daughter.  She loved them and the maid didn't mind cleaning up the glitter that was left all over the tub after she was done.
A few years later, she is making her own money from babysitting and she loves to come to this LUSH.  Yes, the staff is overly helpful......so helpful that they will gladly demonstrate ANY product on a 12 year old with a fat wallet.  She went in there last week with a friend and came home with a tiny container of jello soap that was $12.  It is her money though....
My husband can smell a LUSH store at least one block away and knows that this will be his time to go sit and drink coffee while until we emerge from LUSH weighed down with a bag and our wallet a bit lighter.
I don't love any of their products except the bath bombs.  But, it is always fun to go in......

I am obsessed with Lush.  Walking down Beverly, I am led to the smell emanating from the store like a dung beetle to, well, you know....

A British chain that's been moving over to the U.S. only within the last few years, Lush can't be beat for pampering.  Their signature bath bombs are, in fact, the bomb--last shopping trip, I stocked up on 6 or 7 and haven't gotten to use even one, because even my husband is now addicted to the fizz.  Their shampoo bars are great for travel, their massage bars are super sexy, their scrubs are delightful, their fresh masks really cleanse the skin, everything smells fantastic, and their British newspaper/catalogue is cheeky and fun to catch up with.

Be warned--go once, and you'll never have spare cash again.  You won't be able to resist.

Arguably the friendliest staff of any store in the Beverly Drive shopping area.  Everyone there was talkative and helpful. I loved the deli counter vibe of their soaps: You buy them by the pound (they're measured on a scale). If you want to pay less for the bar of soap the sales person pulls out a chef's knife and cuts the bar for you. Now THAT'S service!

Lush gets extra points for playing vintage prog-rock on the PA instead of trendy stuff. I enjoyed hearing Peter Gabriel/Yes/Emerson Lake & Palmer whilst buying bath bombs. Check it out!
