It was our last full day in Puerto Rico, and we really wanted to have a great beach day. To use this beach, you have to go through a gated entrance and pay four dollars to park. From that point on, it doesn't cost you anything unless you choose to spend money. It's a short walk from the parking lot to the beach. We had gotten there early, and decided to rent an umbrella and a pair of lounge chairs, which cost us $35 for the day. Considering we ended up spending nearly 7 hours on the beach, it was definitely worth the purchase price.

The beach is gorgeous, and the water is rock free. It did get quite busy, but we actually enjoyed the people watching. There are vendors that walk up and down the beach, selling ice, creams and drinks, but there are also little Kioskos on the property that you can walk to easily to order hot food. At the one we visited, we got delicious slushy's, Pinchos, and empanadillas that were all delicious. We had a great time, and would absolutely go back in a heartbeat!

When you leave the gated parking lot, you are literally around the corner from the Luquillo kioskos if you want to hit them up for shopping or dinner after your beach day. Makes things super convenient!

      2 check-ins

found this beach after the rainforest, and there was a restaurant that sat and faced the beach. We got to come up here, the sun was really bright, sand was soft and the water was really calm, beautiful and inviting. There is definitely a lot of places to check out and eat here deathly a place to come back to.

While on a guided tour, Luquillo Beach was on the itinerary as one of the stops & I'm glad it was because we really enjoyed ourselves during the 2 hrs we were there & we got some great videos & pics w/ the Puerto Flag that's on the rocks & the awesome waves.

We visited on 4/01/2022 & it was cloudy on the day we came & even drizzled a little bit but the drizzle didn't last long at all.

For me, I really liked how close the Luquillo Kiosks are to the actual beach & after eating at Kiosk #38, we bought a 2 go drink & walked to the beach.

It wasn't crowded at all on the day we came, which was great.

While the beach wasn't spotless, I wouldn't describe it as "trashy".

We started our last day from Fajardo, first stop was Luquillo beach, Only a 30-minute drive from San Juan and a 10-15 minute drive from Fajardo (which is where we stayed)

it is located just off of Route 3 behind the food Kiosks. The beach is wide with plenty of space to spread out and tons of large palm trees and evergreen trees for shade. there are restrooms, showers, and lots of picnic spots. If you need beach chairs or umbrellas there's usually a vendor set up that will rent them out for the day.

There are also a few food kiosks (which you must check out for local food and gift items). on the grounds and vendors walking the beach with ice cream if you get hungry or need a snack.

As you drive along PR-3, keep an eye out for Los Kioskos de Luquillo, a roadside strip of restaurants, bars, and gift shops set along Luquillo beach.

TIP: it is close to the El Yunque rainforest, about a 20-30 minute drive up to the rainforest. So you could start with an early morning hike and then spend the afternoon at the beach!

This beach is where it's at! It is extremely calm, there are barely any waves when you are wading in the water. It is so gorgeous and the water is crystal clear. You can rent chairs and an umbrella for $20-$25. (I don't remember how much)There is a bunch of food vendors, they are quite a walk if you are not nearby and further down the beach. However, this beach is totally worth staying for the entire day. It is close by to the rain forest, so if you visit the rainforest you can go to the beach afterwards or before. There is a place where you can rent Jet skis and you can rent a kayak as well. Get cash!

This was the first time that I rode a JetSki, it ended up being a little bit windy later in the day, but if you go while it is calm, I bet the experience is that much better! I had a blast though! I will definitely make sure that I return to this beach when I am visiting San Juan.

Excellent beach for anyone wanting some sun and water fun. The walk around the beach is very nice as it's curvy and you can find places where there is no one around. We came on a Monday when everything was closed but people still parked on the side and there was a working water shower right by the entrance. It's all we needed! The water is not warm but if you walk down the shore and around the corner, you'll find more beach with a private vibe and warmer water! It's not too deep and the sounds of the waves are amazing!

There were a couple of vendors and there were rentals even though the beach was closed. Plenty of people jet skiing and it's not too crowded. I really recommend this place as down the street, there is a "mini boardwalk" with plenty of restaurants and shops. Great place to relax and enjoy your vacation!

A great beach to hang with friends. On the weekend you can find lots of locals just enjoying life, playing music, having a few drinks, kids swimming and playing, looking for some Agua de coco? Lots are available

I wasn't impressed with this beach. It's a pretty far drive for us to get out here. It's got a $5 car admission and the parking lot isn't that close to the beach. Most buildings are run down and boarded up. The restroom I finally found was in very rough shape and had a chain and lock around the toilet paper, lol.

The beach sand is dark brown and the water was very dark and cloudy.

Lots of families here BBQing and having fun. I didn't see the big deal, considering my day prior at Isla Verdes was a million times better.

I see no need to return here.

Luquillo beach blew away my expectations. When I went it was clean, nice, and beautiful. The area around the beach can be dirty, but the beach itself past the trees was nice. It was very busy the Monday that I went, but not as busy on Thursday. The pina colada shack has great pina coladas with 151 in them. Don't get the one in the pineapple. It's cool, but waaaaay overpriced and for not much more than you would get in a cup. Staff there was kinda in a bad mood but the line was super long so, whatever.
My family had a great time on this beach. The fish do like to nibble at your heels and brush up against you sometimes, but it's cute I think.

All in all, had a great time and would love to go back someday!
