Really good pasta and Italian food. Has that old feel of Emilio's. Was initially seated in the back but asked to be moved to the front room. Very cramped spaces and they really try to squeeze everyone in.
I ordered the gnocchi and broccolini, husband the amatriciana, my gnocchi was unreal in flavor -- might be the best gnocchi I've had. Amatriciana was ok, nothing special. For the broccolini, they definitely were not kidding about the amount of olive oil, was slathered in it and almost inedible unfortunately.
Servers milling around and ready to help, they had a coat check as well.
Not too difficult to get a reservation which was great.
Will definitely be back and excited to try more of the menu.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mar 31, 2024
3.5 - Solid food - if I lived in this neighborhood, it would be a go-to. Tried a few of the pastas and sides, and liked everything. The pastas are simple, but perfectly al dente and the sauces were perfect. I thought my cacio e pepe was better than most I've had around the city (including Roscioli). Generously sized portions, too.
Service was fine, and there was a lively atmosphere around the bar. I wasn't drinking that night, which was very sad because they have a big amaro selection that I'd love to try a bunch from - next time!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Feb 23, 2024
Great little Italian spot if you're in the soho/west village area!
Stopped in here for lunch and the ambiance was chic and cozy. Our server was attentive and polite.
The food portions were big and left us feeling incredible full. The steak and broccoli rabe felt a tad over salted and oily.
Would recommend for a nice lunch or cute dinner date.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Gregory L.Silverado, CA51681Apr 20, 2024

I've been here twice in the past several years and it's very good. Not the best Italian in the West Village, but there is tough competition around. I would not steer anyone away from here, just manage your expectations accordingly.
Came here for a business dinner last week, so we got to try a large cross-section of the menu: burrata, meatballs, octopus, prosciutto, arancini, and roasted beets. Standouts were the octopus (this is very hard to get right), and the roasted beets. Definitely order those.
For dinner, I had a primi and a secondi (I could only fit in two bites of the secondi, but it was great the next day)
- Primi: cacio e pepe with gluten-free pasta - this was great. I'm not sure what the pasta was made of. It was an interesting consistency, but it was still good and satisfied my cacio e pepe craving.
- Secondi: the lamb - wow! Definitely get this. I'm Greek and have high standards for lamb and it was even good the next day.
We also ordered a few bottles of wine. The Sommelier helped. He was an interesting person. Couldn't tell if he was annoyed with us or not, but his flavor descriptions were spot on and we did order a bottle of red that was fantastic (see pics).
It was a good noise level, too. Overall, this is good for groups or a date night.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Feb 29, 2024Updated review

For dessert we had the olive tort which was very tasty. All were good. They do the cuts of salumeria fresh and the pastas r flavorful n innovative. Very tasty. Portions r single serving. So order what u need.

We sat directly next to the door on a cold winter night. There was a lot of back and forth and the restaurant was quite crowded. So the ambiance was less than desirable.
The crispy Brussels sprouts were delivered as promised and tasted very good. The carbonara was well made but I found the cured meat odd. It tasted a little bit like Chinese sausage. The meat was also used in the bucatini dish, it was overall very salty. The tiramisu was also not as expected. It was a little more custard like than usual.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 664150910243Nov 14, 2023
I love Italian food and couldn't wait to try this restaurant. When I arrived I parked on the street not too far. When I walked in, I was greeted by James the host, and he was very nice. The restaurant was so cute! Adrian was the bartender, Marco was my server, and Ian was the GM. They were all great!
I started with an espresso martini, which was great. I then had an amazing red wine. For my appetizer, I had the Arancini di Mozzarella, and it wasn't bad. It was nice and cheesey. For my meal, I got the Black Spaghetti with Spicy frutti di mare. I really enjoyed my entrée. It was very different and melted in my mouth. I really enjoyed the food, drink and service!Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 1 - Jan 21, 2024
I had a lovely Saturday night dinner here. To start, the ambiance is sophisticated but still chic. The entire restaurant was full, so I would definitely recommend having a reservation. It also gets a little loud due to the abundance of people. The service was polite but a little slow, which was understandable as it was so busy. The food was SO delicious. We started with the roasted beets and burrata, both were tasty and made us excited for our mains. We got the butternut squash pasta and tagliatelle special, which were both winners. The side of crispy Brussels sprouts was also a pleasant surprise. This definitely won't be our last time here.

We came in looking for some small bites one evening, and found seats at the bar. Thankfully, the host brought us menus, since the bartender was too busy with the 3 other patrons seated at the bar to pay attention to us for 20 minutes. The night didn't get substantially better, but here's a rundown...
We ordered a wine and a beer to start (Sauvignon Blanc & a Kolsch). The wine was exactly as expected, but the beer from the tap tasted awful. We set the beer aside, and the bartender never bothered to ask about why a full glass of beer sat there for an hour.
Food looked tremendous around us, so we decided to start with the grilled octopus and the arrancini. The octopus itself was nice (very small portion, though), but it was served on a bed of peppers & onions smothered in a very odd, mostly sweet sauce. The arrancini was nearly unforgiveable, though; they looked like they were factory prepared by Sysco, and served with a ridiculously sweet red sauce that would have anyone from the city running away (which is what we did).
We asked for the check, got the obligatory 'how was your meal?' and provided some short feedback to the bartender, who finally noticed the mostly full beer.
If we were in the midwest at a Fazoli's, all of the above would be appropriate and expected, but in NYC, this is a travesty.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
