Great Atmosphere, elegant and refined place..BUT the food didnt have anything special..
I ordered the beef shanks, with a spicey rub...what i got was beef shanks with a red sauce over it..blahhhhhhhhhh to the bone...
no flavor, no spice, just tasted like meat with tasteless red paste slabbed on.. My friend had some brisket tacos, which were ok ,,totally lost me , cause i was expecting so much better ... esp when they have so many ads with ex cowboys saying how good this place is..lol tony casias needs to give me back 40$

LDN is close by my office, so it's sometimes convenient to hit the place up for lunch. Their original location is in Richardson on Lookout and IMO it is their best.
Walk in and you're greeted by a dark, warm continental Mexican decor. The staff is all dressed in black so I guess it makes the place fancy (sarcasm).
Shortly after being seated, you're greeted by wait staff that brings out warm chips and a pretty darned good homemade salsa, spicy at about a 3 outta ten scale.
The menu is varied- some selections outright don't please me, while others are pretty outstanding. Faves of mine are their avocado soup and their fajitas are good as well. Chicken enchiladas in a cream sauce are delish but very rich. If you're in a group, the combo appetizer is a good way to start.
You pay a bit for their atmosphere- this ain't the cheapest Tex-Mex in town nor is it IMO the best. Still, it's solid and worth a visit if you're nearby.

Don't let the mixed reviews steer you away from checking out Luna De Noche. The menu offerings are a little whacked, but I mean that in the best way possible.
For those of you have been to Frontera Grill/Topolobampo
in Chicago and are fans you would certainly appreciate this place. The food is crafted in a way that every entree has a slight twist and is unique to the Chef.
My favorite dish you ask? Well it's the jalapeno meatloaf with conchitas (their version of mac n cheese). A hint of spice, but not overpowering and hearty enough to enjoy with a glass of syrah or a top shelf margarita (which by the way, the best margs in the city are served right here). But feel free to get out of your comfort zone and try something new as you will not be disappointed.
The dining room is not what you would expect as it's sleek and comes across as something you would find in the FIDI of San Francisco or New York.
Great place to conduct a business meeting or to take a date.
Either you love it or you hate it. The good people of Dallas are split down the middle on this place. It certainly isn't Tex Mex nor is it authentic. But I myself as an outsider fully support what they have done here.
4 1/2 stars

Not big on this place.
It does have a nice ambiance but too dark to read the menus and the food was barely so-so.
Nice waiters, though!

While I agree this place can be expensive for what you get, if you do it right it's not a problem. The best thing this place offers is their soup...the Xotchitl is my favorite (but the Avocado soup and Tortilla soup are both just a different variety of the same soup). They must put some addictive chemical in the broth for these soups. When we go we just get a cup of soup each and split the fish tacos (or I'll just get a burrito or taco ala carte if husband wants to do his own thing). I also request this soup if I am under the weather. Margarita on the rocks are great (and I am somewhat hard to please as far as Margaritas go). I do wish the Northpark location wasn't decorated so gaudy but at least the patio is nice.

Not a favorite. I've been twice and both times their food disappointed me. The first time, I got the chicken fajitas (a favorite choice of mine) but they were overcooked and bland. The second time I got flautas but the chicken was chewy and the rice was cold.
Also, I've never had super service there. The place puts on airs but doesn't deliver. There are better places to find good mexican food in town.

I have to review Luna and not sound exactly like my sister (Amy). Unfortunately, this might sound exactly like my sister. To avoid it, I didn't read her review before posting.
The main reason I go to Luna is for their chips and salsa and tortilla soup. I don't feel bad filling up on their chips and salsa because it is SO good. Their chips are usually really warm and freshly cooked to perfection. Their salsa is the best around (Joe T. Garcia's in Ft. Worth beats it, but they are so far away...). It is not too hot and has really good flavor. The tortilla soup is probably the best tortilla soup I've ever had. They bring you a bowl of the goodies--chicken, BIG chunks of avocado (my favorite), and crispy tortilla strips. Then the broth gets poured over all of that right at your table. This makes the tortilla strips and avocado perfect, not soggy.
Their entrees are really great, too. I usually split either the Rudy's Request or La Luna Tacos. Both are great. Rudy's is 3 corn tortilla pork tacos, and La Luna Tacos are really good flour tortillas with either beef or chicken (I get combo) and all the fixin's. Both come with rice and beans (really good rice and beans I might add).
I hate flan. Well...I thought I hated flan. It is usually mushy and kind of too wet and just unappetizing. However...flan at Luna is SO good. They make it perfect. You definitely have to save room for this.
There it is...hope I don't sound too much like my sissy.

I came during lunch hours on Saturday and it wasn't packed at all so it was pleasant to where we all could have a nice chat without having to raise our voices and what not.
Chips and salsa were great. The chicken enchiladas were delicious as well. I actually prefer the ones from Gloria's. The Luna Mojito was quite refreshing. It had a nice balance to where the spearmint wasn't to over-powering.

One of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Dallas. Best salsa as the other reviews have said- if you have never tried it, it is a green salsa, and when I once asked a waiter if they used tomatillos or something, he just said "cilantro, lots of cilantro." It is so fresh & good- my husband & I can go through 2 cups of salsa a piece.
Moving on...lol The tortilla soup- OMG! They put all the chunky stuff-the chicken, onions, jalapenos, avocado in a bowl & bring the broth out separately & pour it in the bowl right before they serve it. It comes out nice & spicy & hot! This also applies to the avocado soup which for avocado lovers, is a must! They do not skip out on the avocado here!!
Yes, Luna can be a bit more expensive than say, Mia's or Manny's, but like other Mexican restaurants, the portions are big enough to split, and the typical dishes are not that expensive like spicy enchiladas ($11.25)-my husband's favorite. They also have an entire part of the menu that are "tex-mex combos" and most everything is less than $10. My two favorite dishes are $12- Rudy's Request- 3 corn tortilla roasted pork tacos served w/ rice, beans & garnish of chopped onions, lots of cilantro & Luna salsa. My husband can split that dish if we each get tortilla soup. My other fav dish is La Luna Tacos- 2 crispy flour tortillas filled w/ monterey jack cheese, chicken (or whatever meat you want), & sauteed onions- comes w/ guac, sour cream, rice & beans.
Their brunch is how Mexican brunch should be- they don't have a buffet, but the dishes they serve are pretty darn good.
Lastly, their flan is about the only flan that holds up to my expectations of what flan is really supposed to taste like- flavor-wise & consistency wise. It is perfect at all locations (Forrest, Plano, etc). They serve is on a cold plate & many times I have to cut myself off from ordering the flan!
Enjoy!

They have great salsa. Typical Tex-mex options are available, but they have some unique dishes, too. I like the Pollo Pipian, a grilled chicken breast covered in a sauce of pured pecans and chicken broth. Also, check out the Xochitl Soup: chicken broth base with chicken chunks, tortilla strips, rice and fresh avocado, onion, tomato, cilantro & jalapeos. They add the broth to the bowl when they serve it.
I'll be honest.
Wife, kids, and I come here for the cilantro salsa.
The food is typical Tex-Mex. Done better than most places. But not so great that you're blown away.
Except for that salsa.
One of a kind.
Decent food, but too expensive for what you get. The quality does not seem any better than other Mexican restaurants, but the entrees are $15-20, which is a little much for quick Mexican food. Lunch is a little more reasonable. I love the salsa but the after taste stays with you long after you leave.
Highlight of my dining experience was sitting near Troy Aikman. He is a handsome man.
