Another place that delivers in Downtown!

$10 minimum order. Even though Grace P. says for her it ranges from $0-$20. But I think it's because I'm 0.3 miles away from the restaurant.

For my $10 minimum order, I always order the Beef Shawarma, which comes with a side of pita bread, hummus, etc. and a side order of fries. It's not amazing food, but if you're hungry and lazy, it hits the spot :)

    DON'T GET DELIVERY HERE!

The estimated arrival time was 8:20pm (40mins from when I ordered), it came at 9:20pm!

The food was cold and the shawarma plate and carne asada plate was either tasteless or had a weird taste to it! I should have read these reviews before I decided to order from them

Most of the yelp reviews seem to talk about how crap the delivery service is. I think its time they hire someone else to do the delivering

Working hard then hardly working I blurt out " I want a good chicken or shrimp kabob"

My foreign colleague asked me "what is a kabob?"

Me being an expert on all things including kabob, i answered "its like when you eat food from a stick".

He says: "So anyting choo eat from stick is kabob?

    I said "Yes"

He says "So...can choo have marshmellow kabob"

and of course i said "Uhhhhhh....yes"

So when he looked puzzled i decided that for lunch break getting Lula Kabob to go should better answer his questions.  Lula Kabob is a mediteraneon* middle east take out type of restaurant in downtown, and If you don't know what a kabob is order from here because they make them pretty good.

    Yuk! Yuk!! Yuk!!!!
If I could give 0 stars I would. First complaint, it took them 1 hr to deliver my food I work one block away. It was in the middle of the afternoon so I know for a fact they were not busy bc when I asked the order taker he said we are not busy at all 15 mins. When I got the food the 1/2 chicken I ordered was inedible. It was so over cooked that it was so hard that it wouldn't even be classified as jerky. Seriously that hard. Is this why it took so long to delivery you had to cook my chicken into a brick!! I didn't even call back to get the order replaced partly bc I feared that they might do something to my food and I just wrote it off as a never ever again experience bc I figure if they can overcook the chicken to that extreme they really don't know what they are doing food wise.

Every time I order for delivery online Lula Kabob gets it right.  Oh no did I just curse myself?  Did I just cross the proverbial black cat's path?  Okay aside from paying attention to details, Lula's falafal is some of the best I have had the pleasure of devouring.  The humus is pretty damn tasty too. From what I can remember when I was still eating meat, the garlic chicken was done just right and the Lula Kabob, well it  was always mouth watering.  The owner is usually always there cooking up a storm all jolly and friendly.  Kind of like the Lebanese Santa but without the suit.  On a "Lula's got all their sh** together day"  I give Lula four stars for their food, but throw in Santa and the ability to pay attention to details and it gets 5.

Never got our food. We waited for 2 hours. We were prepared for a long wait after reading other yelp reviews. Called after an hour and a half.. The guy asked us to come down to pick it up. Umm. That's not delivery dude. But he said he'd be here in 20 minutes. We called again and they mumbled something about an accident and an ambulance. I call the bullshit card on that one.

Dropped a star. Recently ordered again..except no $20 limit all of a sudden? But of course with my luck, the person taking my order didn't write down the right address. So after waiting for about an hour, I called them and they found the correct address and redirected the driver. I don't understand why they couldn't call me...they had my phone number. So my food finally came- cold, but I mean what can I do?

Pretty much the best falafel/kabob/shawarma place downtown, and I've tried a lot of them. My favorite is Zankou but this place does just fine when I don't feel like driving to Little Armenia.

I usually end up always either getting the chicken or beef shawarma, but everything I've had is good. My wife prefers their sirloin kabobs.

What's more romantic on Valentine's Day than felafels and kabobs? Ummm....nothing. Fancy fine dining and wine are fine, but give this girl some middle eastern food and you've got a date!

We were going to the Mayan to see Lucha VaVoom (yes, this was the perfect V-Day), and Lula Kabob was just a block away.  The man at the counter was so friendly. We ordered and when my boyfriend reached for his wallet to pay the man said "You eat the food first. You like it, you pay. If you don't like, you don't pay." That's a man with confidence in his felafels.

We sat down on some comfy couches and watched Persian videos on TV and the food was ready in a few minutes. The felafels and kabob were great. One complaint, the rice...basmati is what I was expecting but I'm pretty sure they used Uncle Ben's. Not OK. Luckily they give you hummus, tabbouleh, and pita, so I didn't need the rice. Still a let down. Also, they were out of baklava=(

The place itself is small. Nothing fancy...more of a takeout kinda place but was clean and comfy. Oh, there was also a man in the back lifting weights. Very impressive.

I'm not too well versed in Middle Eastern food so I wasn't too sure what to order. I decided to get a variety of things for my boyfriend and myself to experiment with. We ended up with the Double Combo Kabob (which consists of beef tenderloin, chicken and lula kabob), Beef Shawerma, and one of each of their four varieties of Baklava.

My favorite of the whole batch was the Beef Tenderloin. It was juicy and not overcooked (mm just right!). The rice, humous, salad, pita bread and fries in addition to all of that was great.

Ahh.. Baklava. Each of their four varieties is great and small enough to be a satisfying little dessert for your sweet tooth. Each of their flavors are in a similar range with the most noticeable differences being in the way that each of the pastries is wrapped. The honey and flakey filo combination leans toward the very sweet side (but that's how most baklava is, isn't it?).

    To summarize:
    - Fast delivery (within 30 minutes).
    - Good food, full of flavor.
    - Reasonable prices ($5-13).
    - YUMMY baklava!

My boyfriend has now declared it, "[my] favorite delivery place in downtown." We will definitely be ordering from here again.

The service for delivery was great as well as the person that took the order over the phone.
Cost of the food very reasonable

the food its self was great, chicken was juicy not dry the hummus had a sweeter taste to it but good, pita was great and salad was good too.

What a great place to order delivery for business lunches when your stuck in the office.

My co-workers and I ordered delivery a while ago. The lula plate was not edible. The meat was mushy and flavorless. I hate wasting food, but I had to throw the food away. My stomach turns just thinking about it. I really wanted to like this place since I really enjoy this type of food. What a disappointment.

I've been sitting here for way too long trying to think of a catch phrase to begin this review with:
    "Lula Kabob: They Deliver!"
    "Lula Kabob delivers the kabob!"
"Lula Kabob: The only good food downtown that is open on weekends!"

They're all accurate, but somehow they all fall short.

I'm guessing this place is new because there's only one other review on Yelp and its fairly recent. My question: Why aren't you all flocking here? This is the best place downtown for a quick bite, and it's open all weekend!

So, it's Sunday afternoon, the boyfriend is sick in bed, and the fridge is lacking sustenance. And I'm thinking, "oh no, I'm going to have to call Domino's again..." yuck. Then I remember the tastefully designed menu that came in the mail yesterday, complete with color pictures of combination plates (a la Chinese food menu, but better). And Lula Kabob, with their shwerma gyro and chicken soup options seemed like my best bet.
I called and ordered at 3:00pm and the man said it would be here in about a half hour. I'm thinking "yeah right, if you're anything like anyone else who delivers, I may or may not see that food in an hour and half." Wow, was I wrong. Not only was the food here with in 30 minutes, half of it was in my tummy by 3:31.
Strangely enough, the thing I was most pleased by was a mistake that they made with the order. I had ordered a salad, and when I unpacked all my food, I didn't find it. I called and told them, and (I am not kidding) the salad was in my hands in 10 minutes. And everyone apologized profusely.

If you're not into the Mediterranean food, that's okay, because they've got lots of other stuff, too: burgers, fish and chips, turkey burgers, etc. From the looks of their menu, they've got a little of everything, so you'd be hard-pressed to say they didn't have anything you wanted.

Lula Kabob kills it!  Ok, I just moved to Downtown from the mid-wilshire area and I don't know too many places to get quick grub especially on a weekend.  Thanks to Yelp I find Lula Kabob and BLAMO - a delicious cheap meal delivered to my pad.  The shwarma's good, the Falafels better and the hummus and salads are excellent.  My only complaint would be that the rice isn't up to most middle eastern restaurant standards, not even close.  But that won't dissuade me, I'll be ordering again for sure!

I work nearby and decided to try this place with 2 friends on a whim.  I can honestly say this place served the worst gyros I've ever had.  Typically when I order a gyro, I expect Tzatsiki sauce on the gyro.  Not hummus or something that tastes like blue cheese dressing with cilantro in it.

Also, typically, when I order gyros, I have come to expect (from places like papa christo's) that the meat be sliced thin, not be cubed and thrown in like a damn burrito.  (If I'd wanted that I'd have tried the El Cholo that just opened nearby).

I work downtown and frequently order food for my office.  This is hands down the best delivery/customer experience I've had in years.

Sometimes it's a pleasure to give someone your business.  This is one of those places.  The manager and all the staff are very friendly.

They deliver, even for smaller orders.  Their delivery guys are fast.  They rarely screw up the orders.  This is my go-to place when I'm working late.

If you need to feed a whole office, they have a catering option for 10 people that runs about $120 and can easily feed 10-12.  It comes with salad, rice, hummus, taboule, chicken kabob, lula kabob (ground beef) and pitas.  They will deliver it with only an hour's notice.

The food is solid.  I like it better than almost anything else in its price range downtown.  It's not gourmet, but it's pretty darn good take-out food.  The portions are excellent.  The orders come with taboule, hummus, pita and rice.  Excellent value for the money.

in response to Isaac S.'s critique about the rice....I totally know what your talking about.  I've lived roughly 200 feet from Lula Kabob since its incarnation about a year or so ago.  I can definitely say that for a while there they were working out some minor kinks in the rice.  I even had a word about it with Michael, the owner, who happens to be a hell of a great guy.  He told me that it was merely a proportional mistake and that they had sussed it out.  I took his word and tried the rice that day....No joke, some of the best rice I've ever had.  I recommend the tenderloin shish kabob sandwich and ask him to add rice inside.  You will not be disappointed.

After reading all the great reviews, we decided to try this place out as delivery.  Well after almost a 2 hour wait, just about when we were going to call and cancel our order, the delivery guy finally arrived.  So after all this wait, we had high expectations.  Well, the food was unimpressive and barely edible.  The kabobs - mediocre at best, the rice was bland, the fries were a greasy, limp mess (BTW what is up with the fries?), and hummus forgettable and the baklava tasted like plastic.  ugh!
