Luigi's Italian Restaurant
4 reviews for Luigi's Italian Restaurant
Luigis is true Italian.
Not a chain like Olive Gardens where most of their entrees are frozen and then microwaved.
I'm a fan! It can get crowded but I love the pizza and salads. Some of the waitstaff have been there for ages and remember you every time you come in. Nice place...different than most you find in West Texas.
you obviously havent been to san francisco, chicago, philadelphia...places where they know/serve true Italian cuisine. luigi's is awful. went there years ago when i was new in town and havent bothered to return. a fellow i knew who was a Culinary institute of America graduate and local (Midland) chef concurred and thought the place was WAAAAY overrated. but it is a West Texas institution, so what can you say? for me, no thanks.
My fav has to be the creamy, buttery fettucinne alfredo with chicken. They serve pizza, lasagna, spagetti, manacotti, soups, & wonderful garlic breadsticks. This place packs lots of history, the decor has not changed much from the late 60's but the food is great. You can find this tiny bungalow on Big Spring St. between Texas and Wall St.
