Rounding up to four because these guys are reliable.
My order regularly gets to my door in under 20 mins and they always pay attention to my special requests--which is honestly a feat... Nobody else seems to read my order notes.
The burgers won't blow you away but they're definitely solid for a cheap delivery eat. Fries are bomb, milkshakes are good. I've had their chili dogs too, and they travelled pretty well.
I order here every other fat Friday (don't judge) and haven't been disappointed yet. -

I'm not going to lie... I've never had their burgers... I've only had their fries but I go there all the time for just the fries alone. It's actually kind of pathetic since they know me now. It's even more pathetic that the last time I went in, I was dressed in work clothing after a drunk work event and Augustine (one of the workers) said "I DIDN'T RECOGNIZE YOU! YOU'RE NOT IN SWEATS!" I felt like a fatass but after eating Lucky's fries, a wonderful fatass.
But I have to say Lucky's is my go to place for late night cravings. If I had to describe it I would say Lucky's fries is like the love child of Pomme frites and Mcd's. The place kind of looks like it too. The walls are bright orange and there are bright diner stools on the side. You HAVE to remember to get the Luck's sauce! DELICIOUSNESS IN YOUR MOUTH. Without the sauce, the fries really aren't worth it so look for it. It's right beside the door! -

When my coworker surprised me with "The" question.... "what do you want from Lucky Burger for lunch?, the company's paying for it," I got so excited, I almost soiled my pants. Imagine my glee, Free food!!!, yowza!!, and I finally get to try Lucky Burger for the first time.., virgin experience!! Santa Claus came early.., (that's what she said, ahem..). Suffice to say, a bathroom break was imminent.
We have a lot of people at work. We had a big, big table with lots and lots of burgers & fries, and crack-sauce. For a moment there it looked like a burger eating contest. The burgers arrived cute and cuddly, packaged wrapped in their little-wittle foil wrappers. And, then my heart stopped for a second and my jaw dropped for 2 seconds as I locked my big eyeballs on the brown paper pouches of greasy fries resting right next to their crack-laced sauce. They looked crispy, and they were crinkle cut too (that means extra crisp, fyi).
The beef patty was ok only. The bun was pretty weak. Overall, the burger wasn't much better than the top-shelf McDonalds, or Burger King burger options. I don't get the hype about these Lucky Burgers... whatevs, lets move onto the fries.
The fries are very good, very crispy and crunchy. Hard to imagine when you're looking at a raw spud dug up from the ground that it can turn into something so savory. It's ingenious what humans can create. The greasy brown paper bag was very pretty. It looked distressed from the hot fries. The sauce was great, there must be some MSG in there.Listed in: My Favorite Burgers, Best French Fries in New York

A tasty burger. Kinda reminded me of a Sonic burger. Came with lettuce, tomato, onions, and pickles. The fries were crinkled and I was obssessed with dipping it into their chipotle mayo. So good!

I was starving waiting in line for totto ramen next door and saw this place on the corner of my eye so i decided to tell my friends that i will be right back. I want inside and order myself their famous cheddar cheese burger and I really want to order the chili cheese fries too but I knew I was waiting to eat at totto ramen. The burger itself was a little expensive $6 for a burger but what can i do when i am starving. The burger itself was bland and not too much flavor. Yes I was happy to eat it but if I wasn't as hungry I think I would give them a 2 but for now, it is a 3.....would I go here again, yes......only if i am eating at totto ramen place lol

I feel ripped off coming here. $15 for a southwestern chicken burger, fries & chocolate shake?
Sure, it filled me up. But was it a mindblowing good chicken burger? Not really. I wanted to taste their cool ranch sauce to be more and their cajun spiced chicken to be more flavorful. Fries were crispy crinkle cut goodness, I enjoyed dipping it into the Lucky Special Sauce. Chocolate shake came in a big styrofoam cup and it was decent but I would've liked it a bit thicker.
The location itself is nice and clean. High stools facing the street, as well several tables. TV showing sports. -

Went here after buying a groupon....10 bucks bought us 20 dollars worth of food.
Highlights were those fries-- generic crinkle cut, but way better than shake shack's. Crispier and those 2 sauces (chipotle mayo and the house sauce maybe?) would be the main reason i come back here.
I got the naked lettuce burger and they let me sub it with turkey....bf got the bacon cheeseburger and it looked good. Decent portions. Left full.
Don't come here expecting the salads they still have on their online menus. Don't exist, at least at the hells kitchen location. -

I tried this joint out last night and had the Lucky Cheddar Burger and sweet potato fries. Both of them was good but the prices were higher than Shake Shack. The meal came out to a little over $11 and I could have gotten it cheaper at SS. Burger was cooked nicely but it was somewhat overwhelmed by the mustard and pickles. I have no major issues with them besides the slightly higher prices. I would come here again for a late night meal.

Okay after reading yelp reviews making claims that Lucky Burger is better than Shake Shack, I felt obligated to check out this place.
Now first off, I do not see how one could compare anything to shake shack, the shack is heaven in the form of food. Saying that Lucky burger is really good, good burgers and food, but there is absolutely no comparison to Shake Shack and I just need to through that out there.
However, the food is good and there is free wi-fi is a plus. To me Shake Shack it a destination food stop, but Lucky Burger would be more of a convenient food stop; if I happen to be near Lucky Burger I would stop in.
All in all I would say Lucky Burger is good, maybe great, but not awesome. -

There should be some process to declaring something famous. You cant just say "famous." I mean where is this craphole famous? Anyway, mediocre fried slop at inflated prices... $8 for a tiny brger. I left hungry and annoyed.

My dining experience was mediocre at best. The fries and Lucky's sauce was awesome. I've had better burgers, it wasn't terrible, but didn't blow me away either.
I'm not sure if i'd go back. -

Don't get the chili cheese fries. The chili that they supposely give you looks like horse manure.
Came here after the midnite viewing of harry potter. While it was late and most of the people on this block are flocking to the bar across the street from the parking lot, Lucky' is still open.
Got the lettuce naked burger and my bro got the lucky burger. The naked burger wasn't as tasty as like --- the protein burgers from In and Out but the lucky burgers on the other hand were pretty good. Secret concotion of sauce and mayo. ahahaha.
none the less don't get the chili cheese fries. The guy at the counter-- heavy set dark skinned fellow was pretty blunt about it. He seemed like he didn't care about his job. -

Nom nom smiley's makes me happy.
Service was great and staffs were friendly.
Cheddar burger was cheesy and pretty good.
Onion rings, not the best, but pretty wickedly yummy.
The Lucky's sauce and chipotle sauce makes a really good dip.
One complaint, I wished the buns were more toasted.Listed in: This is my burger list, not…

This place has an absolutely fantastic burger! I came in here the other day to get some food before a long night of work and was very pleasantly surprised. The place is packed, but not so much so that you feel uncomfortable, and all the food is made fresh while you wait, which is a really nice change from a lot of the fast food places around here.
I ordered a pretty basic double bacon cheddar burger (which in retrospect was a mistake because I hear their turkey burgers are extremely good), which was hot, delicious, and a perfect meal size. All of the ingredients are fresh and I came away from the entire experience knowing that I'd be back soon. -

Ran across this place upon walking back from The Colbert Report and had to stop here to pick up a bite to eat. It's no Shake Shack but I was definitely not disappointed with what I found.
First thing that stuck out to me was that they actually had a pretty wide menu selection with multiple types of burgers, fries, and shakes. Unlike my usual burger standbys (Five Guys and Shake Shack), they actually had turkey and veggie burgers. I picked up a turkey burger and it was great with a patty that was wayyy bigger than the bun...nice bonus. My friend picked up a double cheeseburger and it was absolutely massive. Great for the carnivore that wants more meat than actual sandwich components! Service was pretty friendly too. Lucky's will definitely be on my burger list in the future. -

Pretty cool burger/fries/chili/shakes spot.
Wifi too? Wow, just wow :-P
Although, I ordered the chicken sandwich by itself thinking it would make a decent lunch. Um no. Totally need to get like a sandwich, AND fries/side, AND shake. then its probably filling. And then probably costing you like 14 bucks or more. -

This is the way a quick homemade burger should be, minus the rubbery bun, but not totally opposed to that. Only gripes I have with places like Lucky's is that they are too expensive, but I guess it costs a little for quality beef that you can eat on the rare side of the doneness scale.
The best things about luckys, the Fries! I literally gained 15 pounds about 6 years ago because I was addicted to the crunch of the krinkle!! Now that I have changed my diet and can control my biggest affliction of my love for food and portion control, I only eat this type of food when it is absolutely necessary, and then I savor the flavor, or in this case, the CRUNCH! -

Lucky Burger is for lovers.
I can count on Lucky burger. I can count on their onion rings and chipotle mayo to come super quickly and pick up the pieces of whatever is going on in my life- a bad hangover, a broken heart, a mean exam, or just a lazy Sunday.
If I'm pulling an all-nighter, a combo of chocolate and coffee milkshakes are a welcome substitute to a cup of Starbucks and provide me with a delicious "hang in there" wrap of fatty love.
It also loves me when I'm out having fun and satisfies my drunk munchies late at night.
It's a welcome addition to girly bonding time on our big comfy couch, and when we don't have it- something's seriously missing.
Don't worry Lucky Burger, we love you too. -
Review from Alexis G.
No. Just no.
This was about nine times greasier than I wanted. The bacon on my cheddar bacon burger was too chewy, and the whole thing was pretty flavorless as far as meat goes.
Why do I have to put my sauce on myself? Why do they not have mustard? Why do your fries come without salt on them?
I should have just dealt with the fact that I was far from home in Hell's Kitchen and made the trek to Shake Shack. I would have felt a lot better about that $12 I spent on food that is terrible for me. -

I liked this hamburger. It was no Shake Shack but better tasting than the overrated 5 Guys. I order the #1 combo that is the cheeseburger, fries, and a 24oz drink for $10. Still that East coast pricey burger joint. Oh well, I sub'd the fries for their onion rings that were quite good.
I also had the Lucky Dog w/mustard and sauerkraut. All though not your typical NYC dog (thin and snappy) it was good because they use the Hebrew National wiener. I am a huge fan of the Hebrew's dog (for you So-Cal people, it's the same as the Costco hot dog for $1, but here it's $3).
If you are looking for a good hamburger and don't want to wait in long lines in NYC, Lucky's is the place I recommend. You wouldn't be disappointed.
p.s. their sauces; chipotle mayo and Lucky's sauce (thousand island) are very good to top your burger, fries, or onion rings. They are in self serve jugs on the counter. -

Ok, it looks cheesy from the outside, but don't be fooled. This place cooks a mean burger! A decently thick, juicy angus burger cooked perfectly to order for $5!!?? Oh hell yes!!!
Get the burger medium rare and let the juices flow! I know that sounds disgusting, but that's what a good burger is supposed to be. Don't forget the "special sauce"... Sure, it's not a fancy schmancy burger, but come on, IT'S $5!!! Ok, Shake Shack and Corner Bistro offer similarly priced burgers but if you're impatient like me, I hate the lines...
Sometimes nostalgia gets the best of me, and the chili dog might be a good example. It reminded me of the mysterious cafeteria food I used to get in elementary school. The chili dog is disgustingly good. The chili tastes like Hormel canned chili, full of saltiness and ancient beans. Yummm...
Haven't tried the shakes yet. Fries are ok, reminiscent of White Castle. The onion rings are the star of the show... Do order them.
The turkey burger is a misplay because it is a turkey burger that resembles a regular burger in taste and appearance (except it's really dry since it lacks any wonderful fat). I would think most that are avoiding red meat or seeking a healthier alternative would rather have a juicy, well cooked turkey burger that's pinkish/whitish instead of the ground up moisture-deprived patty that they're serving.
Anyhoo, well done Lucky's. Well done. -
Review from Pat P.
I'm not entirely sure how this place stays competitive, but it does. The only reason I tried it was because Totto Ramen next door was closed and I was feeling lazy.
In short, the burgers and hot dogs are mediocre at best. I probably wouldn't ever eat here again, although the atmosphere is not too bad.
It's acceptable for a very quick bite. -

Delivery was fast and easy. I've heard their onion rings and shakes are good. My friends seem to like the food, but I didn't.
I had a cheddar cheeseburger, and while it's more burger than you get at BK or McDonald's, it didn't seem like anything special. They advertised the burger as being cooked "medium", but there wasn't really enough meat for there to be a pink middle.. the burger was probably less than an inch thick. Maybe it's because it wasn't fresh off the grill, but it just seemed bland, reminded me of the burgers in the school caff.
The fries were tiny, none longer than 2 inches. The dipping sauces (horseradish and a mayo/ketchup combo?) were good, but it was a pain trying to dip the tiny fries in them.
For about the same price, I'd rather go to Five Guys. I wouldn't go back again. -

......and that's how I like a burger!
.......angus beef and cheddar on a spongy potato roll so it all sticks together like mushy love!
.......if you saw a girl in a green shirt walking down 10th Ave. sucking hard on a straw I wasn't trying to be nasty.....that was a damn good strawberry milkshake!
.......those monster onion rings....good thing I wasn't on a date, he wouldn't have called me.......
Seriously Lucky.....you start putting mushrooms and swiss on that and I will slap on another star! Take that as a threat because I am not waiting in line over at the "Shack"!!!Listed in: Go to Hell!, Burger Joints

To buy the BBQ Bacon Cheese Burger, Onion Rings and a small drink. It costs a little over $15. So it's a bit pricy but it's one hell of a burger and I never leave hungry. If you go try the Chipotle Mayo Sauce on you're Burger. It sounds like a weird combination but it's soooooo good.

Maybe I ordered the wrong burger.
I just had a veggie burger and I have to say it was one of the worst veggie burger experiences I've had in a long time. The pattie was overly mushy and a little cold toward the center which leads me to believe that it wasn't properly cooked. Gross. The pattie itself was huge but the bun was teeny, like half the size, and the bottom half was soaked (with water?). Gross again. Half way through eating the burger it just fell apart into a pile of mush. At least I was only out $5.
I used to live around the corner from this place and remember it being pretty solid back in 2006. And they do have some of the best shakes in the neighborhood (even when you factor in the new Shake Shack).
3 stars for good memories, nice counter staff, and cheap prices.
Minus 2 stars for gross veggie burgers. -

I love Lucky's. The service is always pleasant, upbeat and quick and the onion rings and burgers are tasty. Anything made fresh to order is awesome. I had some of my husband's chocolate shake and it was tasty. I love that they have mini burgers on the menu too, so I can pretend to myself that I'm not eating a whole huge burger.
The meat is fresh & juicy, and the burger patty doesn't seem to be coated in butter like some places in the city (an old restaurant trick to make cheap, old meat taste juicy- just douse it in butter!).
I'm always happy to have somewhere to duck into to get out of the midtown madness- Lucky's is an oasis. Love the Chelsea location, too. -

Came here for a quick lunch and it hit the spot. I got an order of fries and it was a huge portion. They were awesome - piping hot, fresh and great flavor. My fiance had the cheeseburger and devoured the entire thing so it must've been delicious and seemed made to order with all fresh ingredients. They had posters up promoting the quality of their meat (no antibiotics, no hormones, etc.). The place was small, but we grab a few stools at the counter, which was clean and inviting.

Review from Josh d.
If they proudly advertise that their burgers are cooked to medium, perhaps the burgers should be cooked to medium. - This is what disappointed me the most.
Additionally, the fries were bland, and flavorless. Bun seemed old and chalky.
On the plus side: The service was friendly, and the place seemed to be kept quite clean. But the food was lacking, and disappointing to me. -

Review from John P.
They put MUSTARD on their burgers. They must be the only place in the city to do this, and it's disgusting. Besides the mustard, the burgers were ok, but pretty on par with other fast food. The fries kinda reminded me of Shake Shacks, meaning they aren't good, but the chipotle mayo made up for that. I definitely suggest trying the chipotle mayo, it was awesome. I also thought it was pretty expensive for a burger place, $10 for a cheeseburger meal, really wasn't worth it. It's actually more expensive then getting a cheeseburger, fries, and a drink at shake shack. The wait for food was also pretty long, around 10 minutes. Definitely not worth going to.

New York, NY
This neon yellow fast-food burger eatery may have more options, including turkey burgers, veggie burgers, beef burgers with various toppings, milk shakes, but it's really just a glorified McDonald's.
The fries are the frozen kind, the cheese on the fries are Velveeta, the burger patties are thin, and the setting gives you sensory overload. The only good here is the giant onion rings, and maybe the slightly odd Lucky's sauce, if you're into tangy mustardy mayo. That aside, I'm not so sure what's so Famous about it. Will not be coming back - especially when Burger Joint is not too far away...
