For some reason for a Friday, this place was pretty dead.  They still charged a $2 cover, which didn't make sense to me.

However, comparing this Lucky Strike to the ones I've been to in Anaheim & Hollywood, CA - this LS blows both of them away.

This LS is HUGE. Huge Lounge area and several bars, obviously, bowling lanes, however, it was missing a billiard section, which I was used to seeing.  But I'd have to say, this LS was decked out pretty nice. Everything was pretty swanky giving a totally cool Lounge-feel, and the DJ's mixes were really good too.

I'd love to see this place when bustling, was kind of disappointed to see it 90% empty.

For those of you from bigger states - I guess KC'S Lucky Strike is a huge attraction in the Power & Light District ...it IS the mid-west after all.  I thought the same thing when walking to Lucky Strike with friends...wtf.....BOWLING??  But the way LS is laid out really delivers for a good night-life scene....actually, ALL of the Power & Light District is made to offer a one-stop shop nightlife area.

My friend told me we were going bowling when I was coming out to KC to visit...but it wasn't like regular bowling..."you just have to see it for yourself."  It was similar to what I pictured which was the club atmosphere bowling, but I didn't realize that it was an entire club/lounge.  The prices for the food/drinks were pretty good here too.

The best way I can describe it is a Vegas stripclub with a bowling alley and no strippers...or were they just hiding?  I wish they had one in my town.

I went here with a group of people in the early afternoon midweek right after the place opened. We were the only ones in the place. The lanes were nice, but it's not a place for the serious bowler. There is a sign suggesting you don't use your own bowling ball here. If the house balls are any indication of the abuse, it's a good recommendation. The only fault I had with the bowling is the ball return added a greasy coating to your ball every time it came back and it make it hard to hold on to the ball after a while. I know that sounds weird, but true. A couple of trips to the men's room to wash my hands made it more enjoyable. The waitress kept the drinks coming and the service was good. The lane kept getting jammed on us so that was a downer. Overall it was fun, but when you're the only 10 people in the place it's hard to tell what it's like before Sprint Center event when it's crowded - I will leave that to local Yelps. I can't see this as a place any serious bowler would want to go to unless the objective was to get totally shitfaced - that is something you can successfully do here.

Very cool place. They played good music and the place itself was nice and classy. Tons of places to sit and chill, part lounge, part club. Definitely my favorite venue in the P&L.

The idea of a bowling alley mixed with a club didn't have me spinning cartwheels at first. I thought perhaps this would be an ackward and noisy outing but was pleasantly surprised. The space is much larger than it appears, separating the club from the lanes. The layout works well and I even ventured into the bowling area just to get away from the lounge for a little privacy or a quick conversation.

The mixture is right at Lucky Strike and it makes bowling seem like a pasttime worth picking up again.

Lucky Strike is on the second floor of the Kansas City Live! area of the P&L district - right across from the Sprint Center.  There are Lucky Strikes all over the country, including their most famous location in Hollywood.  Its a huge place with great decor that's a cross between a bordello and a bar (maybe that doesn't make sense?)  But its very colorful, fun and not like any bowling alley you've ever been to.

There are ten (I think) alleys at the back of the place, but probably 2/3 of the space is the bar and lounge areas, with big comfy couches all over.  The alleys themselves are very nice, as are the seating areas around them.

You'll pay for all this nice stuff but the costs aren't at all unreasonable.  Great spot for a party, group date or fun on at night.  The food was pretty dang good too.

Bah . . . . . . .

I have to give them credit for thinking out of the box, however, this locale seems a bit strange. Usually when you think of bowling, you think of people going to have a great time throwing an overgrown ball through some pins.

In the case of this place, it's more to see and be seen. Feels like some sort of an L.A. dance club. I could see Paris Hilton walk into this place and not think twice about it.

As far as a bowling, the place is lame. Lighting is very poor and makes it harder to play. I know it's all for the ambience, but still, I've seen a few of these where at least direct lighting to the lanes was much better.

When it comes to the drinks, the prices aren't too bad. Moderate, but not enough to scare you away. Bartender did a good job on my drink and I was very impressed with the sheer size of it. Easily double the size of what I would get at Tengo Sed.

In short, great place to go hang out and catch up with friends. Bowling? ehh. .. . not so much.

I felt totally out of place at this swanky bowling alley/nightclub.  Maybe because I wasn't wearing a low cut shirt, wasn't sipping on a cosmo, and could care less if my lipstick had worn off or not...I was there to bowl with friends who wanted to drink.

I thought the concept was pretty cool--having been to lots of bowling alleys with divey bars attached that serve budweiser in a bottle that looks like a bowling pin.  Except this was definitely not a dive bar, but a really upscale lounge that served full bar drinks for a sophisticated, yuppie crowd.   I can see the allure for these folks to come here, "OMG, Brad brought me to Lucky Strike for our first date, isn't that SO unique!"  They can get dressed up, act coy AND get devilishly drunk all in the same evening.

As far as bowling goes, I agree, it was too dark and akward to play.  In comparison to the whole place, it was small.  This place is definitely made for the drinking and spectating crowd.  If you want some laid back bowling action, it's best to stick with your neighborhood joint and bring a six pack.

Here's why I like this place, if you want a nice lunch and a break from the work day you can do it here for under $12 a head with tip. That's lunch, bowling, shoes for $12, good deal if you ask me. Very fun at night too.

So a bowling alley and NY lounge made love and out came a very strange baby. It has a swanky lounge feel with the sounds of balls hitting pins. I really don't know what else to say..drink a martini and get that expensive strike!  Good for birthdays with people you don't usually hang out with.

This place sucks.  Don't go here if you're going for the purpose of bowling.  They will lie to you and say a lane will be ready for you in 15 to 20 minutes.  Then they will direct you to the "waiting lounge" (an area where slutty girls try to make everyone feel bad if they aren't blowing dough on overpriced drinks).  If the employees see that you aren't buying drinks, you won't get a lane.  My friend and I waited almost an hour.  Not kidding.  We finally went to the front desk, made the obligatory complaints, and left.  The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is cause the decor IS pretty cool.  But they shouldn't even try to front like they are a bowling alley.  This place is a lame joke.

I was clouded by memories of Lucky Strike in Chicago, which was fun but it is strictly for bowling.

This place elevates the bowling alley.  In fact, you don't even have to encounter the bowling experience if you are not feeling it.  We hung out in the lounge, fully equipped with velvety booths and low tables.  Low lighting and jewel tones make up most of the interior.  I was pleasantly surprised and would definitely have a drink here again if our group heads that way.

I have been here several times before and had a good time, but this past Saturday night was an epic fail.  Service was terrible, painfully slow, and was capped off by having a tray of drinks spilled all over us - thereafter followed by an argument with the manager over how much of our food had been consumed before the drinks soaked our order.  Our group was really disappointed, especially after spending $80 to bowl two games (four people).  I think next time we will simply go to a generic AMC or Liberty Bowl, where the experience will at least meet our expectations, even if they are lower.  Save your money.

Go here!  They physically push law abiding professional people out for no reason!  They even use their hands!  Come on down!

Hmmm, I guess I can say I like the atmosphere of this place however the staff isn't the friendliest.  I think a place like this tends to forget that its the Midwest and not the west coast area.  You can have fun here as long as you you get the right waiter or waitress.  Some are good and some are just plain BAD!  Management isn't the greatest as well.  I say go at least one time and experience it for yourself! Don't wear a ball cap however!

I really like the lounge part of this bowling alley. I like the decor and music, though at times it gets really loud. A fun place to hang out. Trendy but not stuck up. Some of the outfits are what you would find at Mosaic, but at least you don't have to wait in line to get in.
