It's Sunday and I'm craving Lucky Chopstix' Curry Tofu, but I called and they're closed!  The worst thing about this place, closed Sundays.  I almost always order exactly the same thing, two Spring Rolls, Tofu Vegetable Soup and Curry Tofu.  When I'm not feeling like a wannabe vegan, instead of just a vegetarian, I order up the Vegetable Egg Foo Young (eggs from battery hens = very bad).

The Curry Tofu is different every time I order it, unfortunately, but that doesn't keep me from calling up to order it again and again.  For the record, I've never eaten inside this place, I've only ordered for super fast delivery, or picked up on my way home from work, not that it's on the way home, but it's close enough.  Back to the Curry Tofu - it used to have straw mushrooms in it, and at one time zucchini, sometimes button mushrooms, and almost always water chestnuts and bamboo shoots, and carrots - with a yummy curry sauce, when it's prepared correctly.

A couple of weeks ago I ordered it and it was the best curry flavor yet, just perfect, after too many orders tasting too cornstarch-y, but then I ordered it the next week and it tasted watered down.  Major inconsistency, but I still give this little hole in the strip mall restaurant a four star rating just because when they do it right, it's damned good.

And I really really really wish they were open right now.  It's been a rough week and their Curry Tofu is my favorite comfort food, inconsistently prepared or not.

Lucky Chopsticks Chinese restaurant is definitely lacking size; however, it definitely makes up for the lack of size by providing some of the best Chinese food in the area.

I usually visit this location during lunch hours because of their lunch special for around $6.00, which includes: an entree, soup and an egroll.  You really cannot get any better of a deal on food this good.

This restaurant also offers a lunch buffet if you dine in the restaurant, which is essentially all you can eat, for around the same price as the lunch special for take out.

Not to mention, this place does a great job at making everyone who dines there feel welcome and appreciated.

Small but mighty!  I have a special place in my heart for this joint.

Lunch buffet features only about 20 items, but they maintain a consistent high quality.  In order to cut waste, the chef will cook more of an item as needed, so you are always getting fresh food.

I enjoy the Malaysian Curry Beef, which reminds me of Indian cuisine.  This place also has my favorite Crab Rangoon in Atlanta.

Spread the word, Lucky Chopsticks is an undiscovered gem.
