    TL; DR: HIGHLY Recommended! .
    .
    .
    .
Dr. Kim's office is always clean, his staff professional, and Dr. Kim and his staff completely blew me away with their service.  I've visited him three times already and each time I was never disappointed or felt like my questions were left unanswered.  He never made me wait for more than a couple minutes (LOVE THIS!).  At other dental offices, I've had to wait close to an hour after my appointment to be seen.  YIKES!

I knew from the moment I spoke with Bella the receptionist that I made the right choice.  I explained my healthcare situation in a semi-panicky state to Bella while she listened patiently.  She also provided very thorough instructions about what I should do before my first visit to the office.

Maybe a day later I received a letter with some documents and forms to fill out.  The form was simple to understand, but still thorough enough to gather information about my health history.  Without any hesitatation, I filled that sucker out and brought it with me on the day of my appointment.

During the appointment, Dr. Kim went over the forms I filled out and asked me if I had any questions for him.  He also asked me what I expected out of my dentist.  This was such a shocking, yet relieving question because it made me feel like I was there to be heard, not hurt, by my dentist.  I have an OK threshold for pain, but a low threshold for anxiety in unfamiliar/scary situations.  He eased my nervousness by showing me all the equipment and explained their function before he worked on my teeth.  I loved this so much.  He was very precise and didn't hurt me one bit during the cleaning.

What makes Dr. Kim even more wonderful is that he calls his patients to check up on them.  I ordered a custom-made product during the holidays. Recently, I went in for the fitting.  Dr. Kim spent the time to fit my product and adjust the shape to make sure it was THE perfect fit before letting me go.  A couple days after that last visit, he called me to make sure I wasn't experiencing any discomfort.  I was pretty pleased with this follow-up call b/c it showed he cares about his patients.  I know he is a busy guy so things like these really speaks volume about his professionalism and character.

Dr. Kim's office is off the 134 freeway on Glenoaks.  There are almost two dozen parking spots in his lot so I never have trouble with parking.  There are plenty of street parking too since it's in a quieter park of Glendale.  Oh, if you love the way Anthropologie smells, then you'll love Dr. Kim's office!  I think they buy their candles from Anthro!  :)

The staff was pretty professional and I barely had to wait around to the dentist.
In general Dr. Kim is a pretty good dentist. I think he's used to getting very dental-phobic patients because he and his assistant would explain EVERYTHING they were doing, and constantly ask if I was OK. I grew up with a great dentist and have never been scared of them, so this seemed like a tad much to me. But I can appreciate how it would help someone be at ease.

Dr. Kim was really responsive and knowledgeable about everything I asked. Just by glancing at my teeth and gums he know which ones were sensitive and bled and which ones I've never had trouble with, then he blew up my X-rays and put it on the screen (they have a personal computer for every chair btw, which is pretty cool) and showed me exactly why my gums bleed and where the "gum recession" was taking place. This was a cool thing no dentist had done for me before.

Lastly, he gave me advice for better brushing and didn't get too mad at me for never flossing, though he made the message clear of how important it is. When he didn't find anything wrong with my teeth, he said I could and there was no copay! After dealing with slightly more pressure situations (car mechanics and vision people) I was very pleased he was completely honest about not needing to do more work, even if my insurance would have covered it.

I didn't give 5 stars because I didn't think it was the best a dentist could possibly get. My hometown dentist was a little better, but there's also nothing wrong with this place. As with other places I have reviewed, I fully plan on returning whenever I need a dentist.

Edit: I DID give it five stars after receiving a Starbucks gift card in the mail a week after my appointment. They totally bought me off for $8 :)
But seriously it was very thoughtful and shows that my business means a lot to them. Also, one tid-bit I forgot to mention is that if the office is closed, any calls go directly to Dr. Kim's personal cell phone (that's actually how I made the appointment in the first place). These two things do put them over the top for me.

I do not like dentists... let's start with that little fact (I feel that I am in good company.) My last two dentist both made me cry, and I felt like the only thing that mattered to one of them was $$$$$$. Dolla dolla bills y'all. Not my oral health or personal well being or anything. Dr. Kim did not make me cry and he seems to actually give a crap about me (as far as I can detect thus far.)

He was extremely intelligent and explained all of his goals and my options in terms I could understand. He also actually HAS named goals... he professes to want each of his patients to keep as many of their original teeth in their mouths in good condition as possible. Another fascinating part about his practice is the technological aspect. He took pics of my teeth with a little mini camera the size of a pen and put them up on a computer screen that is attached to the chair so we could look them over together. Photographs were WAY more easy for me to understand then X-Rays. He also showed me how a root canal worked through diagrams on an iPad. Pretty cool stuff.

I needed a root canal and I was scared. I explained about my past painful experiences and we devised a plan to use a sedative and local anesthetic. I was skeptical but I had no need to be. It worked like a charm! And during the second procedure when he was putting the permanent caps on when I had a moment of pain, he addressed it right away and fixed the issue. The only pain I've felt after either one of my procedures has been the pain in my jaw from holding my mouth open for so long but NOT one bit of tooth pain. I'm actually looking forward to returning for another procedure I've been putting off. Crazy right?

    A few other notes:
    1. His receptionist Bella is awesome, sweet, and efficient.
    2. I dig the music they play.
    3. Dr. Kim is kind of serious... my goal is to get him to have a giggle fit. Like really laugh hard about something. That may be a lofty goal but he has his goals and I have mine ;)

I had my first visit today with Dr. Kim, after my wife's positive experience.  Until now, I was going to the UCLA Faculty Group Dental Practices, but after we moved to Glendale that was a bit too far and I have been looking for a new dentist closer to home.  I'm glad my wife discovered Dr. Kim.

My experience today was one of the most positive I've had at a dentist's office.  The staff greeted me and promptly took me into my room - I waited less than 30 seconds after arriving.  As I was a new patient and hadn't been to a dentist for a while I had full X-rays done and seconds later Dr. Kim came in.  Again, no wait and very efficient.

Unlike other experiences I've had, Dr. Kim not only listened closely to my history, concerns and past dental problems, but took all of that into consideration when he was examining me.  I also like to ask a lot of questions about why certain things are the way they are and  Dr. Kim took his time to explain things to me in a simple yet comprehensive way. For example, he gave me a great explanation about the link of periodontal and cardiovascular disease.  Overall, I never felt rushed or that he was trying to get out the door to see his next patient - something I have experienced very frequently with other doctors in the past.

I had a wonderful and stress-free experience and would highly recommend Dr. Kim to anyone looking for a good, honest, knowledgeable dentist who will take his time to explain everything that his patients need to know to feel more comfortable.

Great doctor.  Very personable, explains things clearly and most importantly, he is honest.  Also, I was also surprised at how thorough he is: the first time you see him, he'll also clean your teeth to make sure he didn't miss anything.  The best dentist I've had here in LA

I gotta admit I'm really surprise by the outstanding service this dental office has. I've never had this kind of full on attention at my old dentist, maybe that explain why they are out of business now. Although I'm not a patient of there yet, the receptionist becca still took the time and energy to answers my questions. Not only that dr kim himself called me afterward to further answer my questions. I can't wait till I get my carecredit card because I'm definitely looking forward to having services done by this office.

The positive things yelpers are saying are totally true!
Like many other former children, now adults, who were brutalized by scrapers and gum stabbing floss, I'm always apprehensive about going to the dentist.
While today's visit was by no means a walk in the park, it was strangely pleasant, in part, because Dr. Kim is so informative.
He goes out his way to be, understanding that the greatest factor of fear is the unknown...especially if someone is coming at your face with sharp objects!
That being said, Dr. Kim is really gentle and accurate.
I know more about my teeth than I ever have.

Also, Dr. Kim's staff is awesome!
Maria assisted in my x-rays and cleaning was really sweet and friendly, making feel really comfortable, like I was in the room with a girlfriend.
The receptionist went out of her way to call my insurance company multiple times to confirm coverage, even though minutes before my appointment I still wasn't showing up in the system; she finally got a hold of somebody who found me...all of this so I would not have to go out of pocket.

I'd like also to call a RIDIC YELP on that guy Tyler whose 1 star review is total B.S, in short, claiming the doctor is insensitive.
You would never go into a restaurant, even if you were starving, and order food and assure the business owner that you will get him back for the second half of the bill next month.
If Tyler is needing someone to blame, blame the state of the federal government for our paltry healthcare.
Better yet, take a few more minutes to brush your teeth...not a fan of finger pointers...sorry.
Dr. Kim is a running an honest business and one that hope stays around as long as I have teeth in my mouth.

Hands down the best dentist I've ever visited.
-Extremely knowledgeable and able to explain any problems and his plan for it clearly and completely.  As a doctor, I have high expectations for other medical professionals, and he impressed me.
-Amazing technical skills.  He even filled a cavity without local!  And I didn't feel anything!
-Excellent bedside manner - he exuded confidence, kindness, and professionalism.
-His office staff is really nice, and the office looked clean.

Definitely go to him ... it will be the best dental experience possible!

Since I recently got married and moved to what I consider the middle of nowhere, I needed a new dentist in my area.  After a Yelp search, I had 2 that I was seriously considering, Dr. Kim being one of them.  I only wish that I had saved time and gone to him first.

The first dentist pointed out that I had my 2, first-ever, cavities.  However, when I went to Dr. Kim, he pointed out that I had 4 small cavities and actually showed me them on the pictures.  Again, glad I didn't go with the first guy.

Someone else wrote "best dentist ever. Hands down."  I completely agree.  Dr. Kim was warm and welcoming.  He asked questions and LISTENED.  When I was getting my deep cleaning by the hygienist, he even stopped in to ask how I was doing.   The staff is amazing.  They tell you exactly what they're doing and even laugh with you to make you more comfortable.

I got a deep cleaning on my second visit and halfway through the procedure, I noticed that the hygienist was taking her time and really being thorough.  I had to point it out to her and tell her that my other dentist took less time and only really used a water pick.  Apparently, they weren't really giving me deep cleanings for my $900 after insurance payments.  It really makes me appreciate the people at Dr. Kim's office.

And lastly, the office sends you a Starbucks gift card!  Believe me, I used that in 2 days.  :)  I also sent my husband in to have his deep cleaning and he said he loves the office too!

    Thanks for being awesome!!

Dr. Kim is my dentist.  He's a great guy, very professional, VERY knowledgeable (compared to honestly any other dentist I've ever been to, and I've moved around a lot).  His staff is good, he's quick, and his parking lot is free and spacious.

If you need a dentist, pretty much anyone else you go to will be worse.  So definitely go see Dr. Kim.

When my filling came loose and came off completely recently, my school insurance miserably failed to rescue me because I am off term for summer. I completely panicked in fear of waiting summer out with a huge hole in my molar. However, with some research work and awesome reviews left by my fellow yelpers, I was able to locate Dr.Kim who happened to pick up the phone when I called the office.

He patiently listened to my situation and with very welcoming, friendly manner, asked me to come into his office so he could correctly assess my situation then give me options to help me, which he did and my both visits (including check up) to his office have been nothing but pleasant and easy.

Unlike some other doctors, he doesn't throw around medical terms that you don't understand and, moreover, he lets you know what he will be doing beforehand so there are no surprises. He constantly asks if you are comfortable (and yes I was, very) and communicates with you.

My filling was done in 1/2 hour with absolutely NO PAIN.

Moreover, I got a starbuck's gift card from him along with thank you letter next day. What more could I ever ask for from my dentist???!!

When my stupid school insurance is back in force, he is without a doubt going to be my dentist for as long as I am in the terrains of great LA.

I give Dr. Kim 5 stars for the way he runs his business; great staff (hygenists and front desk), good communication, good follow up, etc.

However, both my BF and I felt there was a mismatch in personality. Sometimes it felt like we had offended him if we didn't take his advice on what services we should get done, we felt a little oversold, and since we are paying cash, we felt it was a tad pricey and wanted to shop around (and can, since we are going at this without insurance). I had never before been told that I had cavities (aside from one small one that didn't need novacaine) or a nightguard, but after one visit there I was told I had a few potential cavities and needed a nightguard (around $700!).

This office may be right for some people but it just wasn't right for us; however, I would still recommend Dr. Kim (and have, to my coworkers) and advise people to try him out. He is a good dentist but it just wasn't a perfect fit for us.

It's surprising to see such polarized reviews of Dr. Kim's practice. I had nothing but positive vibes from his office: the staff is friendly and fast and Dr. Kim is especially thorough and detail-oriented. Unlike others, Dr. Kim seems to genuinely love being a dentist and wants to be the best.
I suppose one should take both the good and bad reviews with a grain of salt, but it's clear that much of the poor reviews are related to problems with payment. If you can't afford it, or aren't willing to pay for the best dental work, then Dr. Kim is not for you. Also, it's tough to take your negative review seriously when you can't spell.

Thank you Dr. Kim for your amazing work!

    Dental Phobia = YES!

I've been going to the same Dentist since I was 14yrs old (yes almost 20yrs!) he retired last year and panicked. Fearful of a BAD dental experience, and overly paranoid I asked everyone (trustworthy) for their Dentist referral, and actually called 4 before I found Dr Kim. My journey is now over and I'm very happy that Dr Kim was recommended to me.

His approach, and demeanor are impeccable. He is USC and UCLA trained (best Dental schools in the country) and isn't phased by complex fillings, inlays, overlays or crowns. I have fairly complex dental work and he was able to deliver top notch service, even with my 'issues'.

I would recommend Dr Kim to any friend or family member without hesitation - he's simply a Dental Rockstar.

Dr. Kim is hands down the best dentist I've been to. Every time I see him I tell him how happy I am to have found him for my dentist.

I had many bad experiences with dentists in the LA area prior to finding Dr. Kim. Other dentists tried to sell me on unnecessary procedures, even tried to give me fillings unnecessarily.

Dr. Kim takes a lot of time with his patients. He won't try to sell you extra procedures you don't need. He monitors black spots on your teeth over time and won't recommend a filling until he is sure the spots are actually cavities (not just stains). He explains every thing he is doing inside your mouth and constantly checks with you to make sure you are doing okay throughout each procedure. I used to have anxiety every time I visited the dentist. No longer. Dr. Kim's caring bedside manner makes visiting him an enjoyable experience.

Extra bonus: when I first visited Dr. Kim he was offering a free whitening kit to all new patients!

After going to a terrible dentist in Beverly Hills for 5 years, we were so happy to find Dr. Kim!
First of all his office staff is fantastic.  There is never a wait, they are friendly and they remember you.

Dr. Kim himself has a wonderful bedside manner, he is open, honest, and very informative about everything from procedures to x-rays to hygiene.  When my husband had to get a root canal, Dr. Kim let me stay in the room and watch, explaining in detail every step and why he used the tools and chemicals he used... fascinating!  He is very honest and never tries to up-sell you with extra procedures.
I would recommend him to anyone!

I seriously cannot say enough great things about Dr. Kim.  I've NEVER, in my entire adult life, gone in for a doctor's appointment and made a follow-up appointment that day.  But every time I go in to Dr. Kim, I realize I'm looking forward to going back in 6 months.  Who feels that way about a dentist?!
    Reasons:
-His office is run IMPECCABLY.  My very first visit, I walked in the door 15 minutes early and the receptionist said "You must be Katherine.  You're early!  Have a seat and we'll be right with you."  5 minutes later (still 10 min. before my appointment time) I was ushered in with an apology for the wait.  This happens every time (except now they know my name).
-The first time I called his office it was after hours (I intended to leave a message), but Dr. Kim picked up the phone!  He introduced himself and made the appointment himself, even though he was out of the office on his cell phone.
-His dental hygienists are all really nice and very gentle & professional.
-He is very knowledgeable, confident and has a great bedside manner.  He even did my cleaning personally the last time! He won't try to sell you on cosmetics you don't need (though this is apparently his specialty).  Anything he does tell you you need he will explain why, how much it costs, and how urgent (or not urgent) it is for your dental health.

Go see Dr. Kim.  You'll never feel the same way about the dentist again.

    Fantastic!

I have never had a dentist be so honest with me. He pulled up all of my x-rays and examined them with me; he pointed out some patterns and suggested that I clinch my teeth. I never thought so; but after he pointed it out, I started noticing that I do...ALL the time! Good to know.

Gives great advice and extremely thorough service.

Having recently moved here from the east coast, I needed to find a dentist out here that could provide me with the same quality, understanding and compassionate care I received at my dentist back home. Based on the reviews here on Yelp I was compelled to become a patient of Dr. Kim's. Unfortunately, what the reviews failed to mention was that unless you have good insurance or can afford to pay through the roof for procedures out of pocket, Dr. Kim could care less about you.

My initial appointment, according to the welcome letter, states that I should expect x-rays and a cleaning (that may have to be split up into several visits if there is "evidence of active gum disease of if there is a lot of build up"). While I did receive my x-rays and initial consult, no cleaning services were provided nor mentioned. I spent a total of 30 minutes in the office and 5 minutes with Dr. Kim. This visit was billed to the tune of $120. I left with a treatment plan (an estimate of just under $4000 worth of work according to his office) and an RX for some antibiotics.

I called the office today to discuss making the appointments for the root canal procedure that I am in dire need of- this, according to Dr. Kim himself if left untreated this could cause some very serious health problems. When I asked about the payment plans they offer, I was informed that since the total root canal procedure quote I received was under $1000 (not by much... $800 plus the cost of the crown) they were unable to extend a payment plan to me. I was not asking for an extended year long payment plan, I wanted to make TWO PAYMENTS, one after the initial procedure and one a month later. I was told by the receptionist that she spoke with Dr. Kim about my situation and that it didn't matter. Since the procedure was under $1000 they would require the full payment at the time of the initial procedure without exception.

I'm a reasonable guy and I recognize that Dr. Kim is putting himself on the line financially when offering payment plan options to patients, however I feel it should be made public that his office isn't all it's cracked up to be. I have never been to a dentist's office that refused to work with their patients to ensure quality, affordable care...especially when the patient needs to have a medically necessary procedure done ASAP to avoid life threatening problems. Dr. Kim was aware of the problems I faced and turned me away. Sure, the staff was friendly and the Doctor knowledgeable but if the compassion and quality of care isn't there, how can I recommend this office?

I feel as though it's important to add that I asked for recommendations for local dental clinics that may offer discounted services or payment arrangements based on financial need, to which the receptionist replied "I don't think there are any...I can't help you."

Every dentist I'd ever had the misfortune of entrusting my cute little porcelains to had been some awful variation of Orin Scrivello, DDS (a la "Little Shop of Horrors"... and oh, the *horrors*!).  Like bad boyfriends, I swore them off, figuring that if I just stayed away, I could save myself the pain, the blood, the heartache (from the dentists, not the boyfriends).  Unfortunately, shunning dentists isn't the best way to keep your pearly whites so pearly nor so white.

When I broke a tooth, I had no idea whom to go to, and the thought of just picking a random dentist out of the Yellow Pages was terrifying.  No one I knew seemed to be able to recommend a dentist either.  As I was daring myself to try 1-800-DENTIST, one of my friends called me and said, "I just heard what happened - do you have a dentist?  You *have* to go to mine!  He's the BEST!"

And Dr. Kim is indeed the best.

From the moment you call his office, his receptionist, Bella, takes awesome care of you.  When you arrive, each and every member of the staff is incredibly kind and caring.

Dr. Kim was fantastic with me, an extremely fearful patient.  I like knowing what's happening and what to expect; he did a terrific job of explaining the various procedures to me before he did anything, and Dr. Kim made sure I wasn't in any pain and was comfortable.  But if you're the type who would rather not know anything, that's okay too!

Dr. Kim was also wonderful about making sure I knew what my options were, if certain procedures were necessary now or if they could wait until later (like, when I have more money!) or if a procedure was completely optional.  I appreciate being informed and not pressured, unlike my former dentists who would just push *everything* on me.

Dr. Kim makes my smile look like a million bucks, but his pricing is very reasonable and affordable.  I can't recommend him enough.  I love my dentist---and now I've got the smile to prove it.

I really like Dr. Kim's office, but reading the other reviews, it could be because my insurance covers everything nicely.

Dr. Kim is pleasant, patient, and his after hour's direct line was a nice surprise one evening when I called after hours to leave a message regarding my upcoming appointment (I work a lot and can't always call during normal hours).

His hygenist Ivy is kind, gentle, and great and nicely advising how to brush and clean your teeth better.  A+ for Ivy.

Overall I'm a fan of him as a dentist, I didn't experience any of this unnessary treatment stuff and felt that he took his time examining me after my cleaning.

Best of luck with your hunt for a good dentist!

Dr. Kim's office is unlike any other I've been to.

After calling in and attempting to set up an appt. the same month, they called me right back to let me know of a cancellation that occurred and I would be able to see him within the same week, score!

All staff members seemed very friendly and greeted me as I walked in the exam room.  They first took a total of 14 X-rays which seemed a bit much to me and were in the same shape so there was definitely some poking going on in the gum area.

Next came the consultation with Dr. Kim himself.  After asking me about whether I was cold because the window was open he continued to inquire about my concerns and expectations of this visit.  I quickly told him of my past experiences of discomfort as the doctors would continue cleaning and test to see how much pain I could actually handle while trying to save some money by skipping out on anesthesia.  Yes, I'm traumatized.

After the discussion it was on to cleaning my teeth.  I must admit I wish he had spent more time polishing and cleaning my teeth as I like to be able to run my tongue over my squeaky clean teeth.  Of the little amount of polishing paste, he didn't even use the whole amount, which was a little disappointing.

Overall, this office does everything that a well taught; child would do.  Respectful, follow ups via phone and mail pre and post-visits, and a Starbucks gift card to boot!  All you other offices need some disciplining of how an office should really be run.

Dr. Kim was my dentist many years ago before I moved to NY, and is now my dentist again even though I couldn't live farther from Glendale. On a Friday evening of a three-day weekend, a large chunk of tooth broke off while I was eating lettuce. I left a message on the answering machine and Dr. Kim called me soon after to make sure I wasn't in pain. It seems the problem is that I grind my teeth at night and break my fillings.

Another dentist had made a night guard for me years before, but I never used it because it kept me awake. Dr. Kim wanted to make me a smaller one that he hoped might be more comfortable; I was skeptical because it was very expensive and I didn't know if I would actually use it. Dr. Kim played "let's make a deal" with me. He wanted me to try it. If I didn't want it, I could return it and he would refund half the money (only fair as he would need to pay someone else to actually make it.)

The end result? I actually love my new night guard. I know you're thinking LOVE is a strong word for a molded piece of plastic, but it's been life changing. It doesn't keep me awake. My jaw no longer aches in the morning. I think it might also help with neck and shoulder tension. Hopefully it will also keep me from gnashing my teeth to bits, but every morning at 7am this almost seems incidental.

I went to Dr. Kim after seaching for dentist in Glendale, and after reading positive Yelp reviews. I don't have insurance and wanted someone good, affordable, and caring.

I liked Dr. Kim and his office, and have scheduled a cleaning for next month. Dr. Kim seemed very knowledgeable and caring, and I do feel like I found a good dentist.

I've known Dr. Kim since he bought this practice from my previous dentist (who had bought it from the previous dentist who owned it, who, was the brother of the orthodontist who did my braces in high school!  So, I go a ways back with this office!! :o).

Lucio from the begining has established a professional repore with me, he frankly discusses the state of your teeth and what he is always watching for.  Yet, he can readily open up an eagar friendly side of himself that just builds the trust between client/patient.

He has updated much of the office equipment and he has taken on the maintenance side of his practice with himself doing hygentic duties, he has also used within the last year an ultra sound cleaner that is MUCH more comfortable that minimizes the use of hand tools for plaque removal. High five Lucio!

I'll get a postcard mailer a few weeks in advance of my next cleaning and also a call to my work phone two days prior from the always curtious office staff for a reminder of my appointment.  I think maybe once I had to wait 10 minutes to start my visit, they do the utmost with scheduling so that they are ready to take you when you arrive.  Makes the rest of the medical service sector look anitquated!!

I recently moved to El Segundo from Eagle Rock but I will continue to have Dr. Kim as my dentist, he is worth the drive! :o]

This guy totally lives up to the hype! He is extremely kind, professional, personable and comforting. I had some teeth filled just this morning and it was a breeze.

He is a great communicator. He'll ask you a few times if you have any questions or concerns about what's going on. He'll inform you about each step of what needs to be done. At my first visit a month ago, he showed me the x-rays they took of my teeth and explained everything that was going on with them. Why has no other dentist done that before? They're my teeth!

Graceful, gentle and quick. The procedure I had this morning was as pleasant as getting three fillings could be. I've had a lot of fillings in my day. This was the easiest and most comfortable.

During the procedure, the doctor kept asking me if everything was okay. What's up with doctors asking you questions when your mouth is full of drills and vacuums and hands? But yeah, it was all good.

He's also of the "don't drill unless you have to" mentality, which I'm grateful for. He is hesitant to drill away because "anything you replace that portion of tooth with is 2nd, 3rd or 4th best compared to your tooth." He totally respects teeth and it shows!

So for my deal this morning, I had two cavities filled. There was a third tiny one that he had previously decided should be left alone for now, but since he was already doing the two, he filled the the third one free of charge!* Sure it was an easy one, but come on!

Believe the positive reviews here! This guy is awesome! He even said he'd call me to check up on me. He's a genuinely cool guy. I can't say enough good things about him.

    Go there! Don't be afraid!

*Buy two get one free deal is probably not typical!

Dr. Kim really is an amazing dentist! I just moved to the neighborhood and was looking for a dentist.  He does all the dental work himself, including cleanings.  At my last dentist office, a dental hygenist (the tooth nazi) cleaned my teeth.. and it was SOOOO painful.. i think she was carving the enamel off my teeth and roots.  I would be in pain for the next few hours after every cleaning.  Dr. Kim gave the most gentle and thorough cleaning I have ever had. NO PAIN.  Plus he was happy to answer any of my questions.

He followed up my office visit by sending me a letter about my office visit and anything he noted on my xrays and even sent a starbucks coffee card thanking me for choosing his office.

Definitely a great experience at his office... the receptionist and assistant were very nice and i did enjoy the fresh flowers at his office :)

I found out about Dr. Kim via Yelp.

    Thank you!

He is an amazing dentist who is nice, fair and sensitive to the needs and concerns of his patients.

I have a needle phobia. A severe one. As in my medical records have a note from my primary doctor stating this. Because of this, finding patient medical professionals is a challange. Dr. Kim, although he wasn't removing a tooth or using anything that resembles a needle during my session, frequently paused and asked it he wanted me to stop or if I was in any pain.

He was sensitive to my phobia and anxiety level. As he listed the stuff that needed to be done to my teeth and talked with me regarding the cost, he gave me several options and even encouraged me to see other dentists and get second opinions and price quotes so that I could decide what was more in tune with my finances and to not settle on the first person/dentist I see and talk to.

I love his honesty and I adore Dr. Kim.

Mucho respect to this dentist. I will be back.

Which is why I have been recommending him to everyone I know.

    You Rock.

Dr. Kim and his staff rock.

What other dentist sends you a "welcome packet" complete with directions to the office?  Personally calls you?  Answers emails?

What other dentist sends you a Starbucks card after your first  visit?

Dr. Kim used some sort of sonic thing to clean my teeth and it didn't hurt at all!  I highly recommend him.

I wrote a review on here before, but for some reason, yelp had deleted it...  BUT, I wanted to write again because that's how strongly I feel about how AWESOME Dr. Kim is!!!!  :)

Once upon a time, I had such a tragic experience at the dentist.  Let's just say that I nicknamed this experience "Drunk Dentist".  I really don't need to say more.  You get the point.  BUT THEN...due to some great internet sleuthing, I came across http://www.brushandsmi... where I introduced myself to the world of Dr. Kim and his dentistry.  I made an appointment and soon after met him.  He was so kind, patient and informative.  He really took his time to make sure I was comfortable every step of the way.  And, that was just the first visit!  I came back later to have a filling done.  I would have been terrified, but he really helped prep me for the experience before hand, along with guiding me through the process.   It was painless, easy and quick!  I am so appreciative of him!  If you need a dentist, this is your guy!!!  :)

HE'S AWESOME.  HE ROCKS.  He is the BEST!!!

Dr. Kim is a great guy and I'm sure he's a great dentist, but I went with another option. I give him 3 stars based on the following:

    Pros:
    1. Very friendly, attentive staff.
    2. Dr. Kim is knowledgeable and willing to talk with you if you have any fear of dentists.

    Cons:
    1. His pricing was higher than others that were in my area.
    2. His office could probably use a remodel.

All in all, a good guy, and I'm sure a very competent dentist.

This man is simply the best dentist I've ever been to in my sorry dental life.

I've been one of those people stricken with dental office fear since childhood, and after my consultation (diagnosis: remove wisdom teeth ASAP!) he noticed that I was slightly wringing my hands in distress.  He asked me what I was worried about - and then proceeded to assure me on every one of my silly fears.  I also had two cavities and needed a good deep cleaning - but unlike other dentists that just say this stuff to you, he showed me little photographs of the inside of my mouth to show me exactly where I needed the work.  Therefore - you don't feel like you're being duped into unnecessary dental care.

His staff is also friendly and great at communication regarding health insurance paperwork, payments, etc.  The magazines in the waiting room were actually new.  Is this place for real?!

I think Dr. Kim is the best because he has a good bedside manner (there is probably another word for this since he's a dentist) and is up to date on dentistry technology.  He redid my veneers after I had them done by a dentist in Beverly Hills.  It was years later, but not knowing a whole lot about veneers (but having paid a lot for them), I realized that the first dentist had done a very poor job on them.  The original ones were bulky and rough, whereas the ones Dr. Kim did were just gorgeous.  Who knew that there was such a difference in cosmetic dentistry.

He always explains everything thoroughly and checks in during the work to see if I'm ok.  For me, I don't have a problem going to the dentist, but I want a dentist who is really very good at what he/she does.  Dr. Kim is that with a rare but excellent 'bedside manner.'  The 5+ friends I have referred to him, ALL love him.  Now, if only he was on the Westside...

I can't believe I've never reviewed Dr. Kim before now. But he is an astonishingly good dentist, probably the best I've every been to, ever! He is friendly, cute, and knowledgeable, and best of all, he is a "No Shame" dentist.

What is a No Shame dentist? A No Shame dentist is a dentist who doesn't take a look at your teeth and guilt trip you about your poor dental hygiene.  There are plenty of them out there, and as someone with horrible teeth and good brushing and flossing habits, it galls me to be treated like a criminal when my friend who has perfect teeth despite not flossing and brushing a couple of times a week is treated like a hero!

Dr. Kim has been my dentist for about 8 months, and his calm, methodological approach to my horrible teeth has made me feel a little more peaceful about my teeth and their future.

One of the most unique things about Dr. Kim is that when the office closes, the main line redirects to his cell phone, meaning that if you have a dental emergency at 11 p.m. or on a Saturday, you'll get him with seconds. This morning, I called to tell Dr. Kim a filling of mine (from a long ago, unlamented dentist) had fallen out, exposing the dentin. His staff had me in in 30 minutes, and Dr. Kim had my tooth fixed within an hour.

WOW. Best of Yelp, in any category!!

I went here because of all the Yelp reviews. I just went in for a cleaning and check up and I don't really have any complaints. Dr. Kim is very friendly and helpful I was surprised when I called for any appointment and he personally answered the phone. I later found out all the after hour calls go directly to his cell phone. They didn't have anything available for the next day, so I told them to give me a call if anything opened up they ended up finding a time for me.

Dr. Kim is very committed to his patients and is available 24/7 for emergencies. As far as the work he does, I only had a cleaning, so I don't want to judge his dental skill purely on that, but he did a great job and seems like a competent dentist.  He is also the most personal and friendly dentist I've ever been to, which is why so many people seem to like him.

A few days after my cleaning I received a letter from him thanking me for the visit and he included a starbucks gift card which I have never gotten from anyone in any medical profession.

I'm planning on making this my regular dentist unless there are any problems I have with future visits.

I'm giving Dr. Kim FIVE stars, and I've never even stepped foot into his office. I'm wary of dentist and even more wary of their costs, and with $$ tight these days... I ask a lot of questions. I mean a LOT of questions.

Although I informed Dr. Kim that I wouldn't be able to go to him since he wasn't in the Blue Cross network, he continued to chat with me for a good ten minutes... and educate me on the necessity of certain procedures.

"Make sure you really need the procedure," he stated... "wherever you go."

He even invited me in for a free consultation after I grab a copy of my x-rays from my current dentist!!

Ethical, knowledgeable... Dr. Kim has a way of making you feel completely at ease... and all this from a phone call!

I'll update after I go speak with him for my consultation!

Believe what you read - Dr. Kim is one of the best dentists in LA county!
He is patient, kind, explains everything that he is doing, going to do - or thinks you should do.
My husband and I both went based on Yelp reviews and both received custom care and attention. If and when you have to go to the DDS, this is the man to see!
Oh - ultrasonic cleanings, pretty mountain views while your in the chair, nice/efficient office staff, clean office and exam rooms, no missing paint or rain-stained ceiling tiles.
