North Hollywood, CA
Best chicken fried steak ever. The fries are hand cut, they remind me of my momma's and are heavenly dipped in the steak gravy.
Not to sound repetitive, but the southwest salad was the best ever too.
EVERYTHING was fresh and tasted like a chef made it in their home.
If you want to go to a place where everyone knows your name hang around the bar a few times and Suzy will remember you.
Nothing at this place is sub-par. Top notch food. -

Fort Worth, TX
Very disappointing experience from top to bottom:
Our server wasn't entirely able to answer our questions (regarding the menu and the daily specials) and really didn't seem too engaged in her job in general. We asked for the dressing on the side of our salads, and when they came with the dressing on top, we brushed it off and ate the salads anyways. At least 4 servers walked by our table as my finished salad bowl sat at the edge of our table, along with a bread plate containing used lemons, sugar/sweetener packets, and crumbs; not a single person took the plate, including the server who brought our entrees out and asked if we needed anything else. The salad bowl stayed there until my entree was removed (see next paragraph).
My entree came out warm, as if it had been sitting around for a bit. It was the fried catfish, and you know how fried items start to taste after they've sat around for a while -- sort of like stuff you've reheated in a microwave. My date was able to finish her entire meal before anyone checked back with us to see how our food tasted; on a positive note, her steak seemed to be cooked well. By that point, I was just annoyed and didn't want to have them cook me a new plate. I just wanted to leave. I don't think our server even said so much as "sorry" about my food not being hot, only saying in a hushed tone that she'd "go ahead and take it off" my bill. I was surprised that a manager never came over to talk to us. Having worked in a restaurant, our managers always wanted to know when a table was dissatisfied.
Our server only had 3 tables and didn't seem to be able to manage even that. Had she and/or the restaurant been a little busier, such problems might be a little more understandable; all of the servers in there seemed to have no sense of urgency or quality of service. After hearing/reading good things about Lucile's, we were very disappointed.
I am having trouble coming up with a scenario in which I would return. -

I give them a 3-Star because I loved the lunch/dinner food, but was very disapointed in the brunch. First my wife ordered hot tea, the water in the metal container was luke warm at best. Had to ask twice for hotter water. Food arrived and was room temp, not warm. Toast was terrible thin pieces with no flavor (think large melba toast) Saugage was great, hash browns were very average. I ordered the Blackstone Benedict. Recommend getting the bacon on the side not under the tomato, eggs and sauce. I could not tell if the bacon was good or not as it was soggy and covered in sauce. Muffin was tough and hard to cut with dull butter knife provided. This place for brunch is too crowded and not worth the wait. While we will be back for lunch and dinner, we will pass on the brunch.

When I talk about Lucile's you have to understand something, I do not like most of their dishes. However, there are some gems just waiting there on the breakfast and dinner menus. For breakfast get the dutch baby with a side of cheese grits I promise it will make you smile. When it comes to dinner or even lunch I always go right for the Wood Roasted Half Chicken with vegetables. The skin is well seasoned with fresh rosemary, thyme and a hint of sea salt. The roasted veggies also are great. Also a few other honorable mentions: Rueben, Juicy Lucy, Crab Cake Poorboy and the salads. mmmmmm

The bisque was good, and the chicken fried steak was the best I've ever had. This earns the one star.
It takes really bad service to actually annoy me, but these folks managed. I ordered a bar drink the instant we were seated and it came just before out entrees (which took a long, long time). There were 2-3 other tables in the restaurant, and none of them drinking (early afternoon on a weekend). It seemed like thy just didn't care to get to it. The waiter was not apologetic.
My order was wrong and the fries (which I hadn't ordered anyway, but we had been there way too long to wait for what I had actually ordered) were cold and limp with grease. Gross.
Then, the bill came. I wouldn't have minded the price if the experience hadn't been so crappy. In this case, you do NOT get what you pay for. I really wanted to like this place, but I strongly urge you to go elsewhere. -

More like a 3.5 stars cuz I can be picky like that. We found this on yelp while cruising on Camp Bowie so we thought we'd stop for a late lunch. We got excited when we saw a huge sign advertising their "Crab Fest" Yummy!!! We were seated promptly and our drink orders were taken soon after. We got really excited because as part of their "Crab Fest" they had cioppino. To most people, clam chowder is a popular dish synonymous with San Fransisco. Not to us! It's CIOPPINO all the way! Its an Italian tomato based stew with an array of seafood such as mussels, squid, crab, and shrimp. To die for!!! We've been missing this stuff ever since we moved from the Bay Area. So imagine our giddiness when we saw they had it!
Along with a bowl of cioppino to share between my husband and I, I ordered the Maryland crabcakes, my husband the rigatoni and for our girls' their chicken tenders kids' meal. I have to say I was somewhat surprised by our food. The kids' meals were half cold. The fries were soggy and cold while the chicken fingers were piping hot. While my crab cakes had a lot of meat in it, they were over salted; just like my husband's rigatoni. The cioppino was just "ok" it wasn't much a stew as it was a chunky tomato sauce. There was no mussels or calamari in it, so we were somewhat disappointed. However it was heavy on the crab.
We might be willing to try this place again. It's a bit pricier and other reviewers seem to like the place a lot. I guess I was just disappointed that none of our dishes really "stood out". -

WOW.
Is that enough for this review?
No?
Okay! Because I have plenty to say. After 2.5 hours of running, crawling, climbing and dragging ourselves through mud (DFW mud run), my friends and I were famished! My friend enthusiastically recommended Lucile's with special emphasis on their pork chops. All she had to say was "pork chops" and I was won over.
We ate family style and shared everything and everything was well worth the order:
- Lucile's Escabeche: delicious shrimp cocktail with generous pieces of shrimp and avocado.
- Crispy fried catfish: I do not like fried catfish. They're bottom feeders. Reminds me of long john silver, but I ate it with fervor. It was the malt vinegar that did me in. Never knew that was what it was for.
- Char-grilled pork chops: heavenly. Juicy. I gnawed the meat off the bone. "Grilled to PERFECTION". Best dish ordered. Totally won over.
- Spinach and artichoke dip: comes with a nice dallop of sour cream and tortilla chips.
- The Californian pizza: my least favorite dish. Not because it was bad (it was really very good and healthy), but who wants to gorge on pizza when there are pork chops on the table!?
I must have consumed all the calories I'd burned that morning. It was well worth it. I topped it all with a nice cup of coffee just to ensure I didn't pass out from exhaustion and gluttony.
If you're visiting Fort Worth or live in Fort Worth, absolutely do not skip out from trying Lucile's. -

Or maybe 2.5 or maybe 3.5...i can't decide. Cool traditional place, cool staff, hearty meals, but i just can't decide on the food. It's not that it's not tasty, it was just , traditionally normal, even when it came to crab concoctions and super-thin fried fish, ultimately all replicable at home for 1/3 the price.
Good, but i'm not sure that's the way i want to feel going into a meal... Also, they don't have their signature pecan pie anymore, now that should merit a zero! Bring the pie back!! :-) -

Dinner date here on a Tuesday night. The place was just as I remembered from HS 15 years ago, which was the last time I was there. The place was filled with people of all ages. Old fashioned feel with an old family elegance at the same time. So many great things about this place, but the things that we enjoyed on this visit were:
MARTINI'S- we had vodka, great, strong, and served with this cool little side cauldron looking thing on ice.
HOUSE SALAD- the house dressing, which is a blue cheese vinaigrette is what makes it
ROLLS- brought one at a time to our table as we needed them (we had a great waiter)
LOBSTER BISQUE SOUP- to die for!!!! so creamy and lots of lobster. It was hot outside and I still ordered and enjoyed every drop.
Coconut Shrimp- large, lots of coconut,, and well cooked.
YOU should try Lucile's out because it old, part of Fort Worth history and more importantly it is great food and atmosphere. -

I would give them 5 stars, except they seem to have an issue with their reservation procedures. My husband recently made a reservation for a birthday dinner, only for us to arrive and them not have it. The apology was "Did you call in the morning? Yeah, we have a problem with our morning reservations, since there isn't a hostess here, servers just answer the phone and sometimes they don't write them down." If you don't want to wait for very long for a table, call in the afternoon to make a reservation.
But onto the food! First, the martinis, if you like spicy drinks I highly recommend their Firecracker martini. It's jalapeno infused vodka, and it tastes like they might roast the peppers first, so yummy (but hot, so fair warning!).
For appetizers, I always love their fried green tomatoes, so delicate and perfectly seasoned. They come with a horseradish cream sauce, which is good, but I love them dry with just a little salt added.
I've had the pork chops here, they are incredible. The roasted chicken is juicy and flavorful. The seafood is fresh and prepared well. But my favorite is the chicken-fried steak. The gravy is smooth, creamy and just peppery enough, the breading is perfectly crunchy and the steak is delicious even when the breading falls off. I also love the very plain steak fries this dish comes with, since you really don't need that much else when having really good chicken-fried steak.
If you are in the mood for a throw-back to when you went to the steakhouse with your grandparents, totally get the cherries jubilee or banana fosters for dessert. -

I have never, ever sent a pizza back to the kitchen. Come to think of it, that is a very interesting topic! What all have YOU sent back to the kitchen? This was a first.
Lucille's has been around for quite some time, and I finally made the decision to make this my destination in Fort Worth for dinner... It was one of the restaurants that was sort of in the back of my mind because I figured it would always be there. It already had 17 years under its belt, so it could definitely wait for me.
I was a bit antsy on what to order because the menu resembled something out of Chili's or Friday's. There were Thai lettuce wraps, pizza, salads, and assorted seafood items. Too much diversity is never good in my book.
Surprisingly, the food is pretty good here. I never let myself expect too much from a place called a "stateside bistro." The "Juicy Lucy" burger is a nice juicy, cheese-filled patty with some red peppers and picked jalapenos sitting on a grilled bun. The bun was a tad soggy. The sweet potato fries are pretty good too, though also a bit soggy.
Now... our clambake pizza was on a "thin wheat" crust. I did not realize that a crust of that kind would be burned to a crisp. The pizza came out creamy and white in the middle, perfectly contrasted with the burnt black ring surrounding it. Sarcasm. We definitely had to send the pizza back, and they switched it out for a regular crust pizza. Much better.
The pizza had lots of clams, potatoes, tomatoes, corn, and maybe a bit too much cheese and garlic cream sauce--which was much like alfredo. The crust was doughy and light. The best part? The messiness of it and the fact that they use hand-cut corn. When I see more than 2 kernel stuck together, I really appreciate the restaurant for using hand-cut corn in their dishes. That way, you know it is freshly prepared. The pizza was a bit "commercial" tasting with that overly creamy sauce and abundance of ingredients, but it was still delicious.
Beyond the coal crusted pizza, the food here is tasty, affordable, and filling. You cannot expect more or less from a classic Fort Worth eatery. Consistency is key when dining in this historic area of town. Camp Bowie is the perfect spot for this type of joint, and the time-told tenure supports that claim. -

Fort Worth, TX
My boyfriend and I were driving down Camp Bowie trying to find somewhere to eat, and finally decided to try Lucile's. Neither one of us had ever been before, so it was a new experience to us.
We ended up having to wait forty-five minutes for a table, but on a Saturday night, that's expected. However, the lack of space in the front is uncomfortable. We sat down on the bench, but the other groups of people decided not to step outside to wait so it was completely cramped. The hostess had to literally separate people just to find us.
The service and the food were both okay. I've definitely had better of both.
All in all, it was okay but I don't think we'd ever come back. It's just nice to drive by and say that we've eaten there before. -

First and last time going here for dinner. Let me just say that the food was OK. I was not impressed, and everything tasted like a salt bomb. The decor, food selection and service reminded me of a TGI Fridays. Our server sucked, we waited at least 10 minutes for someone to come to our table and the person was not our server. He did take our drink and food order, I wish he could have taken care of us. Bottom line, the food is not worth the price, very salty and poor service.

Gussied up diner, without the charm or good food of a diner.
Stopped here for dinner, seemed a nice enough place, huge and impersonal, split in two by a tiny bar wedged in the middle near the front door.
I ordered a margarita, which was horrible, with a funky sour taste. Ordered the house special fried green tomatoes: a nice large order, served with no dip, and a tablespoon of sour cream. Really. They are not good 'dry', the batter is not worthy.
The banner outside said to try the Juicy Lucy (their famous burger), so I did. Yuck. The sweet potato fries were little remnants of flavorless small flat pieces. The burger meat was chewy, not from cooking, but rather from the bad quality of meat (or lack of actual meat). Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing at this "bistro" and should have ordered the $30 fish platters everyone here writes about. Maybe not.
Wait staff are friendly, but clueless. No condiments are on the table, none are put on the table with your food, you are ignored unless you make eye contact, but they get very attentive at the end of the meal when the ticket is on the table. And what's up with the one single small overly crusty brickette, err, bread roll thing they do?
Pass it by or spend more money and try the seafood everyone recommends (if you dare). -

The whole office came out to Lucile's today. The whole office being a grand total of nine people. We had a conference in someone's office to figure out where to eat. Once Lucile's was mentioned, there seemed to be this buzz of anticipation. One of the ladies who is essentially chained to her desk and never never goes out to eat with us decided to come once she heard we were going to Lucile's.
I was the only one who had never been there before. People were giving me suggestions right and left. At the moment, they have a separate menu with crab-everything. But the suggestions that I kept getting were 1) the reuben 2) the chicken salad sandwich 3) the woodroasted pizza and 4) Lucile's panini.
I ended up getting Lucile's panini because I wanted something "classically Lucile's" and the name of the restaurant was attached to the panini. I figured that was a good sign. It came with homemade potato chips. I normally don't eat chips, but I made an exception to these. SO GOOD. The panini was also SO GOOD.
There was silence when the food arrived. Everyone was stuffing their faces. Oh happiness.
My boss cleared his plate within a few minutes. Like, I mean, it looked like he had licked it clean. It was originally his suggestion to go to Lucile's and now I understood why.
If you want a place that all the "locals" know about, go to Lucile's. You won't be disappointed. -

This was such a great experience: Can I start a franchise in Austin??
My sister brought me here for a late lunch on a Sunday. Service was perfect. Food was sooo amazing. I don't recall the name of my sandwich, but the effect was like a muffaletta, and it was so delicious. Who knew just a touch of rosemary could be so amazing? We started with the fried green tomatoes, which had a light and flavorful crispy coating. My sandwich (served with really delicious and crunchy homemade potato chips) was super yummy. My sis had the crabcakes, which were seasoned differently than I've ever had them, but still tasted crabby and fairly traditional.
A great meal; can't wait to return. My folks had the lobster last visit and raved -

My wife and I stopped here on a whim. I'm glad we did.
The lobster bisque was very good. I had a house salad with the house dressing, which was a sesame blue cheese vinaigrette, and I really enjoyed it. I had the char-grilled pork chops, and will definitely have them again. The wood-fired vegetables that came with them included zucchini, yellow squash, tomato, mushrooms, new potato and a small ear of corn-on-the-cob. It was absolutely great.
My wife had the live Maine lobster special (it was only $11.95), and really enjoyed it.
For dessert I had the Black Bottom Key Lime Pie. It's hard to beat an Oreo cookie crust. The pie was phenomenal. -
Review from Ana W.
I've driven by Lucile's several times and never had the urge to stop until last night, and I'm so glad I did!
We arrived at Lucile's at 7:30pm on a Saturday night, and it was incredibly busy. We were told we'd have a 30 min wait so we sat at the well-stocked bar and ordered martinis and Rahr (both were awesome! I like my martinis extra dirty, with lots of olive juice and they did this well). And as busy as it was they still sat us within 15 minutes.
I was most excited to dine at Lucile's after hearing about their fresh seafood entrees and so I ordered the Maryland Crabcakes (I've been going to Baltimore a lot for work this year so I'm a fan). I'm a mostly vegetarian who on occasion eats fish (that makes me a pescatarian!), and I can say for other veggies out there this is probably not the place for you (you can get by with a pizza or two, or the Angel Hair Pasta but that's about it). Boyfriend ordered the Southwest Salad, which is not what I'd order at a place like Lucile's but he enjoyed it anyway. All entrees come with a warm bread role and butter, and most are served with a tasty side salad. We topped off with dinner with an order of bananas foster, which were flambeed (I might be making up this spelling) just a few feet from our table. These were amazing (and they should have been, we paid more than $8 for these delicious bananas on top of three scoops of vanilla ice scream...plenty to share for 2-3 people).
Drinks, seafood and dessert ran us about $70 for two (I'm including tip here), and while it's way more than I usually indulge in it was money well spent. It's great food in a laid-back setting (feel free to dress casually!) and I'm looking forward to going back and trying out the Lobster Bisque and other seafood specials of the day! And a special plea to Lucile's to make the menu just a tad more accommodating for my vegan and strictly vegetarian friends out there who I'm sure would enjoy your drinks and great atmosphere. -

The next time my family comes to visit, I will be taking them here. I had a southwest salad, the grilled chicken was awesome. My brother said the Juicy Lucy burger was close to the best burger he's had in a very long time. Our server was great and there to make sure we were doing okay every time I looked up. We may be making this a regular weekend lunch spot!

Some weeks one will find me here at least 3 evenings. I know, that is too much but I have been going for 10 years. My husband and I had our first date here after watching Fried Green Tomatoes. It was the only place we could find that had them on the menu. They are great! Dave is our preferred bar tender. He always remembers our drink and us. We will probably never stop eating here.

Review from John B.
Mrs. B and I have been to Lucile's a few times, and it is one of my standard recommendations for Tarrant County travelers. We usually go for dinner, but my parents said their breakfast is good, and that endorsement does not come cheaply. I am not usually suckered in by temporary restaurant bits or gimmicks, but I always seem to be victimized the ones here, such as Crabfest and Lobsterama.
Our latest visit was during one of the bits, and the place was packed. Even so, our wait for a table for two was only 20 minutes, so we found a couple seats at the bar. Here's where both we and the restaurant made some big mistakes. First, I must say that I was pleased that offered a single-malt scotch for under $10, but Mrs. B tried one of their margarita specials which was over $10. That shouldn't fly in Tarrant County, where bar prices are generally pretty low, especially when outside of a brand new development. Oh well, I tasted the marg, and it was good. Here's where we went wrong: our drinks were prepared by a manager (identifiable by colored shirt and tie and no apron) who left the bar area to flambé someone's bananas foster. Well, You Picked a Fine Time to Leave Me, Lucile! (Thank you, Kenny Rogers) This left the two remaining bartenders very busy, and we were sitting at the far end of the bar. When the hostesses alerted us that our table was ready, I let Mrs. B go to be seated, and I was planning to get the tab and then join. However, since we ordered our drinks from the manager and not the bartender, I got no attention upon trying to cash out. I waited, waited, and waited, trying to get their attention. This took about 15 minutes, until Mrs. B returned and kind of made a scene, then the bartenders were quite embarassed to realize that I had been waiting for so long. They promptly addressed me once we got their attention, but the damage was pretty much done.
To be fair, that issue was the one and only problem that I've ever had there, and we've gone to Lucile's quite a few times. I usually get the mop steak, and since real steaks require no sauce, I request the mop sauce on the side, so I can dip the bread in it. During our latest visit, I had the sirloin and lobster (one of the bit offerings), which was delicious, and Mrs. B had the lobster pasta, which was also excellent. Our ridiculous, isolated bar experience aside, we had a great experience at Lucile's once again, and this is one of our favorite places in town. -

Been a few years since I was last here. I know Lucile's has some great seafood entree's, but I still get the same thing every time...the chicken fried steak. Some of the best peppered gravy ever, the breading stays on the good cut of steak, and the fries are pretty good with some gravy to roll em around in. Cocktails were good, and poured right for the price. Couple of people in our group were confused by the "shaved catfish" since it wasn't described as so, and weren't alerted by our server, but the manager without hesitation removed it from their bill. He mentioned that he has had to do it several times. They need to make that distinction on the menu, and describe as such. However, those are small blips, our server was great, she put up with our alcohol induced attempts at humor, and was back with a flash when we needed something. She split up checks no problem and correctly. Reservation was correct and our table ready to go at the appointed time. Love the place, will always be back.

Went there for breakfast & this was the worst breakfast I ever had. We ordered Biscuits & gravy. It was alright but I had a lot better. The worst thing was my over medium egg it was hard boiled. As they say a good chef knows how to cook a egg. Well they failed. They gave you cold dry toast & very dry ham. For are two meals it was $30.00. What a rip off. I left almost my whole meal. The manager was going to take it off are bill but that's not what we wanted. We just will never go back. Yeah. for McDonald's at least you can eat it..

Review from Nickie G.
After an epic drinking night on Friday and getting my culture on at the Kimbell this afternoon, I needed some food. The BF rolled up to Lucile's since his old roommate used to work there.
When I walked in I was surprised at the decor. Dark green roof, tiled floors, and green and white checked tablecloths. It gave it the look of a Southern restaurant on the coast of South Carolina or something. We got there for "lunch" at around 4pm and it was completely dead inside but soon filled up with the older people who eat dinner around that time.
We ordered some spinach and artichoke dip to start. This was some greasy dip but it was pretty good. Not the best ever, but definitely took the edge off the hangover burn going on in my stomach. Then we had our salad (which comes with the meals by the way) - mine was a house salad with bleu cheese vinaigrette. Yum - a bleu cheese dressing without being creamy! I loved it. For my entree I got the crab cakes that came with wood roasted veggies. The crab cakes were just decent - fried nicely and the crab was all mixed in with breading, celery, etc. Not going to top the crab cakes at Houstons! BUT the veggies were delicious. Zucchini, squash, potato, tomato, and corn on the cob. I love yummy buttery corn on the cob - it was delcious. The BF had chicken fried steak and HOLY SHIT that was the biggest chicken fried steak I have ever seen. I actually started laughing out loud when the waiter put it on the table...he laughed too and said "Good luck." haha I almost wish I had gotten that - it was fried with a lot of good crunchy breading and covered with possibly the best country gravy I have ever had. Peppery, creamy, and heavenly. Throw some sausage in that gravy and put it on some biscuits and I would have that as my last meal on earth! Our waiter was great also - he kept the drinks filled at all times and was personable and fun. And cute. I love cute waiters. Oh and they also have a full bar which I might have partaken of if I hadn't been so hungover!
On Friday and Saturday nights they have bananas foster. They have a station set up in the middle of the room and all the ingredients are there. A guy puts all the ingredients in the frying pan, lights it on fire, and then they bring it to your table. It was cool to watch!
Overall really good southern style food. I would eat here all the time if I lived in Fort Worth!Listed in: Gettin' Down in Cowtown

I've been eating at Lucile's ever since I moved to DFW in 1997. For ten years the food has always been great! The lobster bisque is my favorite, as well as Sunday Brunch (mimosa, please). The pizza is cooked in a wood-burning oven. They also serve New Orleans beneigts. Good service, great bread, wonderful atmosphere!

This is "our place". If we are anywhere near Forth Worth we eat here. We drive 45 minutes to eat here if we're staying "in town" for our anniversary. It never disappoints. The wood roasted chicken is to die for, but the smoked chicken alfredo is my fave. This most recent trip we tried the calamari--seriously good and desserts--o-my good. Order one dessert though as they are huge.
It's been a while since we were able to visit Lucile's for their weekend brunch but that's actually our most favorite meal here. One word: Beignets. Ok, two: Coffee. Otherwise a tasty breakfast but not worth the 45 minute drive--but those beignets & coffee? Worth a couple of hours! -

Went there for the first time with my husband and I was very pleased. We started off with crab stuffed mushrooms in a garlic cheese sauce. That was very yummy! My only complaint is there weren't very many. But it was delicious. Even the salad with the house vinaigrette was yummy. I ordered the grilled Salmon Oscar and, oh my gosh, it was awesome!!! The crab was in the same yummy garlic cheese sauce as the stuffed mushrooms. They could have drizzled a little more of that on, but it was really good. Even the veggies that were serve with it were delicious. It was zucchini and yellow squash julienned. It also made for a very nice presentation. My husband had Lucile's rigatoni and it looked very fresh and home made. He said it was very good. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Overall, it was a very good dining experience. We will certainly be going back.

The in-laws took us here after a full day of football and I'm sure happy they did. This was our first time here and I really like the "diner feel." The bar looked pretty cool too, but the only thing we wanted was the Chicken Fried Steak (CFS). After a warm dinner roll and a small side salad, on came the steak. It was a huge piece of deep fried steak with a generous helping of country gravy. The batter had a distinct flavor to it, like they added some extra spices. It was great. I substituted the fries for the vegetable medley and was happy I did - it came with zucchini, corn on the cob, squash, sliced potato, and mushrooms. I would definitely come back for another helping of CFS. Per the menu, it was "world class."

Intimate, small, cozy, dining at its best! Love the wines, little bagets, Salmon salad - Favorite ***** even Pizzas & Burgers with sweet potato fries are just Awesome! Can get a little pricey $$$ on the fresh Seafood side of things, but most places are. Enjoy!

The Rome in Texas pizza was really good. The Chicken Fried Steak was really good. The Maryland Crab cakes were really good. The choclate cake dessert was a little dry, but okay. Next time I'll have to try the Pork Chops. The folks at the next table said they were good, too. We were there about 7:30 on a Friday and were fortunate to have prompt seating. The wait staff was informed and polite.

Decided to try Lucile's for dinner. We ordered the crab stuffed mushrooms for appetizer. They were great. For the main course I ordered Licile's Rigatoni and my wife ordered the Salmon Oscar. The entrees again were outstanding. The service was prompt and courtious thru out the meal. Definitely worth trying. Looking forward to going back

So I came here for the first time on a lunch date with a friend and while I enjoyed myself, I don't really know if I'll be back. The decor inside Lucile's is "old-fashioned American diner/bistro" aka checkered green table clothes, lace curtains, bow tied waiters and wood paneling. It's cute, it works. I could see my aunt coming here. Our waitress was super nice/attentive. I give her props. Moving on, when I checked out the menu it had a lot of classic and/or standby dishes, nothing original to speak of, but that's not really what you expect in a place like this. Expect pizzas, salads, pasta and things like roasted chicken and pork chops. I ordered the farfalle pasta with prosciutto, fresh herbs, sun dried tomatoes and artichokes and my friend ordered the classic burger medium rare. I liked my dish, and I especially liked when the waitress asked if I wanted fresh parmesan and came back with a huge hunk of Parm-Reg that she microplaned over my pasta! Score! And here I was expecting the Kraft Parmesan powder so many places are fond of, or at least some pre-grated stuff. This was first class. As for the pasta itself, I liked it, good flavor composition, and I could taste and see the fresh basil and oregano (!) though it desperately lacked acidity, like a squeeze of lemon, to make up for being tossed in EVOO. Also the prosciutto tasted a lot more like fresh ham than cured, but generous portions abounded the dish. The "focaccia" served alongside was pretty but tasted more like stale flat bread. As for the burger, it was solid, served with nice hand cut fries, but I hate it when your waiter takes down your order for a med rare burger and it's just ignored. Yes, I understand the health risks, but just freaking say you won't serve a burger that way, don't nod and smile and fail to deliver. Dessert was ok, pecan pie, but crust was overcooked and too sugary and I could have used pecans. Overall, Lucile's was nice, I had a good time, but I'm not in a rush to go back...except maybe for their Crabfest...
