Very clean and well organized store. Not too difficult to find help. I rate the help somewhere above Home Depot and below OSH.

My only complaint is more with the website. Two times I have looked up something on their website, written down the part number, verify it's in stock only to find the store has it in their inventory system but have not carried it in years.

The way their site is setup, it does not show real inventory for the stores. It may offer an in store pickup but that may mean they are shipping it to the store if you prepay it. Or it may mean it's an obsolete item they have not stocked for 6 years such as the case of a valve I was looking for today.

If in doubt, call the store, ask them to pick the item and verify stock before you make the trip if you want to be 100% sure.

I came here because I knew what I needed and where it probably was.

As usual, there were no employees to be found. No surprise, in fact, expected.

Even if I had a "How to" question, their employees are usually not capable of answering because they have no experience doing it themselves.

Checked out by using a self-serve kiosk. The less interaction with the useless employees, the better.

In and out in 10 minutes. Project was done 20 minutes later.

I like this Lowe's store.  It's close to my house and I usually find what I need.

Tonight I needed to buy some of that orange plastic safety fencing to fence off an area the contractor is working on.

So, I called Lowe's San Bruno before stopping by to see if they stock it.

The nice phone person tried twice to get me to the right department.  First up was hardware but no one answered.  Next I was transfered to Gardening.  Gardening thought it might be in plumbing as they stock the orange safety cones.  In plumbing Matt D. picked up.

Matt D. is a valuable Lowe's employee because he made the extra effort to help me.  Matt did not have my item in his department, but he went looking for it while I was on the phone with him.  It took him a few minutes...looking at inventory and asking around...and finally found a suitable substitute in the gardening department.  Not the orange fencing I was looking for but the green gardening type that will do just fine.

Matt D., thank you for the extra effort.  I appreciate it very much.

Wow, what shyty customer service this Lowe's has, especially in their Window treatment department.

My wife and I went into this Lowe's department to order our Window Treatment for all 6 windows and our sliding glass door and had the most difficult time getting assistant.  First good luck even finding someone who is actually willing to help you, let alone, in that particular department.  After flagging someone down, the person said that the normal person in the Window's department was at lunch and could we come back in an hour.  Really? in the entire Lowe's store you mean to tell me you have 1 person that does Window treatments! I bit my tongue not wanting to make a scene and said fine. My wife and I walked across the way and had dinner, than decided to come back. Why we just didn't leave at that point I have no idea! Wait, I know, I'm stubborn.

Ok, now that we are full and happier we are back at Lowe's to find the Window treatment person busy helping another customer, so we patiently waited, looking for the blinds that we wanted. After about an 1 hr, yes, I said an hr, it was finally our turn. She asked how she could assist us and we told her we wanted to order blinds. She asked if we had the measurements, we said of course said, No, that when we called, the person on the phone said Lowe's would send someone out to do that. She proceeds to tell us we needed to schedule an apt to do that and that someone else could have easily done that over the phone. I can't tell you how pissed off I was at this point, considering we told this to the first person we talked too over 3 hours ago and they said we had to talk to her!

She proceeded to explain to us the rest of the process.  Totally frustrated, we schedule the apt for the Lowe's guy to come out to measure, again I'm stubborn. She assured us that once this happens  and we come back and actually order the blinds, that the process will go much easier and faster.

Fast forward, we are back at Lowe's... the guy has been out to measure and we are there to order our blinds.

Again, we have the hardest time finding a Lowe's person willing to assist us in ordering blinds, saying that only certain people handle the blinds department and they are on breaks, lunches, etc.... I'm now getting really tired of that excuse.  We patiently waited for what seemed like forever and once the person did come out from the abyss we were finally able to order the blinds and shade we wanted for our window treatments.

Seriously, the whole experience should not have been that difficult and most people would have just decided to walk out the door and go else where... I will tell you, next time, I will not be going to Lowe's for anymore home improvement projects, especially after this experience, maybe it's just this Lowe's but they really need to work on their customer service skills and train some more damn people in your window treatment department!

I've been frequenting Lowe's a lot more often ever since we started working on fixing up our back yard.  We keep coming back for more and more things to spiff up the place.  Some rock edging, wood chips, soil, mulch, flowers, garden hose...

I can't say much about the customer service because we've never had anyone come and help us.  Sometimes we have a hard time finding things we're looking for, but we usually find them after walking around the aisles for a little bit.

Pricing is generally comparable to Home Depot.

Wow, what terrible service.  I suppose it was not the customer service girl's problem.  There was only one of her, and the phone kept ringing off the hook.  On the other hand she was terribly inefficient.
I walked in there to pick up my internet order which was supposed to have been ready in 20 minutes.  I actually had ordered it the day before so that should have been more than adequate time.  I was second in line and had to wait about 5 minutes which was ok.  She looked up my order, and then called "the loader" on the overhead speaker to call her.  Instead of calling, the guy took his time to walk over which took a few minutes. In that time, another customer  had come to pick up an internet order.  She didn't realize he needed the order # and only gave him my name but eventually gave him my order # and the next customer's.  Then he goes back to the storage area to look for my order.  It took the guy about 20 minutes to come back - as if he'd actually gone around to pick out the items.  I could have gone back there and picked out the items and checked out in that amount of time.  I'd ordered 5 clay pots, 5 clay saucers, and 1 orchid food. He'd brought back 1 clay pot, 5 clay saucers, and no orchid food.  She tells me that they are out of the clay pots (and what about the orchid food?) and asks me if it had said they were out of stock on the internet (of course not, otherwise why would I have ordered it).  So I ask if they can just deliver it to me.  She says she has to check with the garden department (which doesn't make any sense because why would you need to ask a specific department about home delivery).  So she tries to call the guy in garden, and he doesn't answer.  So she tells me to step aside and she helps the next two customers do returns.  In the meantime by the way, another customer had come to pick up their internet order.  She gives the loader this attractive female's order #.  After about 10 minutes, he comes back with this lady's order, but not the guy who'd come before her!  Ridiculous.  Then I step back in line to talk to the customer service lady because I have to go pick someone up at the train station, and she calls the garden department, and was unfruitful again (why not just call them overhead??).  I say I have to go, just cancel the order.  She offers to let me pick out 4 other pots and then she can refund me for the original 4, and charge the difference.  Doesn't she understand that I don't have time?!?  I say no, I just want a refund, and it takes her another 5 minutes to do the refund because she wasn't sure how to do it - turns out she has to have me sign a form that says I received the internet order, before she can refund it.  It sure doesn't make any sense.  In the meantime there are now 7 people waiting in the customer service line, and she asks who is doing what, and someone way in back says he left his credit card and somehow they take care of him first.  Ridiculous.  Anyway, no way in hell am I coming back here.  Not only is there inventory not up to date, the stocking people or whoever is fulfilling the internet orders are not doing their jobs (they should call if they figure out that the order cannot be completed, rather than waste my time driving there, then waiting another 35 minutes just to find out that they are out of stock, but also the customer service is terrible and not well trained.

Lets start from the beginning, 3 greeters @ front door deep in conversation not one looked up to greet us.  During the short 4 aisle walk to the lighting department we walked past SeVERAL groups of employees standing around talking, was never  greeted or asked if we needed any help.  (luckily i knew where i was going) Ended up in the lighting dept looking for a floor lamp, found the model I was looking for section and everything to find it out it was out of stock, the story repeats it self with the next 3-4 I decided I might purchase ( this whole time a group of employees are standing behind me chatting away about how wasted they had gotten the night before, completely unprofessional) mind you I'm in the store with my toddler daughter who luckily won't remember any of their foul conversation at that point I walked out. Too bad to, I had frequented that lowes several times before, management needs to retrain and be retrained.

I have been looking for Charcoal BBQs for some time.  I went on the Internet to see what was out there.  I browsed Home Depot and kicked those around.  They have no pride in their demo grills.  They were flimsy at best.   I also went to Sear's and saw one I liked, but the instructions on putting it together was a nightmare.

Since Lowe's was across the street, I stopped by.  A Lowe's person asked what I needed and He took me to the grills.  Looking at a few, I asked if he had a tape measure to borrow.  He gave me one and let me measure a few things.  I told him I had doubts about assembling the grills.  He said Lowe's has a number of grills already assembled and I could take one of those if it fit in my vehicle.  I used his tape measure to see if it would fit in my SUV.  He said if not, they could take apart a shelf or any other part so it could fit.  Wow!  Once I paid, another Lowe's person was out there to help me pick out the grill and take apart anything to get it to fit.  Got it to fit and got it home.  Now, I'm grilling without having to put it together.

Don't expect the people working there coming to you and saying, " May I help you?" it's not like you are in the shopping mall or department store. Maybe it's a good thing or not, but for me it has almost everything I want or need. I have used the "self check out" and used the cashiers as well. It's a corporate business so you know what to expect.

Four stars for the cool guy in the blinds department who stopped me from buying the same day, cut-to-order wood blinds, quite candidly telling me that I would not like them.

I really need window treatments for a guest room after the company from which I had special ordered custom fabric shades fell down on the job.

With no time left to order new custom shades, my two options are $2.00 temporary blinds or the Lowes same-day blinds.

The Lowes guy told me to stick with the paper blinds because the one-day blinds would look like crap given the size and depth of my windows.

OK --  "crap" is my word, the Lowes salesperson was more discrete.  Also, to be clear,  the issue has to do with my windows, not so much the product  itself.  For other uses, the Lowes quickie blinds would likely work just fine.

In any event, his candidness saved me from wasting $200.00.  Gotta give props for that.

I still come here for little stuff when I'm in the nabe, but try to avoid it if at all possible.

I stopped by here the other day after reading a tip on their website, which suggested getting 4'x8' boards cut at the store for certain projects. It said that the first 2 cuts were free, and each additional cut would be 25 cents.

So I decided to stop by for a 4'x8' sheet of MDF cut into many pieces for a storage unit I was building. I brought along a diagram, picked out a piece of MDF, and asked them to cut it for me. They said that there was a limit of 10 cuts per sheet (my diagram called for 15 cuts). I told him that their website didn't state such a limit, and that since they charged for add'l cuts, what the problem was. He said the reason for the 10 cut limit was they don't tie up the saw for that long as to avoid having to make other customers wait. I pointed out that there were no other customers, and his response was "we're not going to do your entire project for you."

Fine. But if the Lowe's website is going to give a so-called "tip" to have my wood cut in-store, it should also mention this 10-cut limit.

I drove to Colma, went into Home Depot, and the kid working there was more than happy to cut my wood.

I'm going to have to give this place 5 stars for the customer service I received 2day. When going to make a return on a highly overpriced
water heater I was treated fairly & it was an overall pleasant experience.

I was surprised I went in all pissed off (inside my head) and ready to flash however not needed  it was all good. I simply explained my mishap & they
took the water heater back and even returned the delivery fee they had charged. Good looking out.....

    lots and lots of parking.

the building is huge.  they have everything you want.  you can find it here if you can't find it at any other places.

who is their competition?  you'll realize that most of the time, you go to their competition first.  sadly, its true.

If the price was better then i'd go here first.  They have a HUGE selection on so many different types of what you're looking for.  Its just that.  you can't seem to find the ONE that you were looking for.

We found an amazing deal on a wine fridge this weekend!  We did the usual tour of the electronic stores to do some price checking and not only does Lowe's have a much better variety/selection than Best Buy or Home Depot, etc, but their prices seem to be a lot better.  The employees were so helpful too, even assisting us with shoving that huge-ass hulk into the back seat of the car (thank god we got the Li edition).  The store is bright and well-organized and they have a ton of other cool stuff too (I spent some time salivating over the different types of granite in the kitchen section).  Parking here is easy as hell, and the store is in a  very accessible location.  Much less of a clusterfuck than the Home Depot in Colma.  Yayyy!

I have never been to a big-box hardware store where people are friendly and helpful at the same time. I headed over to this Lowe's with a specific list of things I needed. The woman at the returns desk was friendly and nice as she directed me to the windows sections. The man at the windows and doors sections was very nice to explain to me how to re-screen a window screen and a patio screen door. He also spent time looking up another item for me at another Lowe's without any tone of irritation. So I don't know what other reviewers are talking about when they talk about bad customer service. I didn't come across any of that at all. Maybe the hardware store gods were smiling down on me that day.

The store and parking lot were clean and well-kept (though I did go around 9a). If it weren't for the fact that I didn't find exactly what I needed here, I would have walked away a completely happy customer. 4 stars for walking away with nothing, but 5 stars for awesome customer service.

The only thing good about this store is probably that it might be a few bucks cheaper than Home Depot. Other than that, nothing, there customer service is horrendous, in store and even on the phone. I've been to the store probably a hundred times and no salesperson is in any department for some reason?! Its like everyone who works there goes to work and then is either on lunch or break..all at the same time?!

And if there might happen to be someone in any department don't expect them to be really good in helping with questions, issues and god help you if you ask someone to look for a price in a catalog or something, just don't have your hopes up for a good answer.

I've also called several times over the phone to their mainline attempting to get transferred to the department that I need help in, but go figure the phone continuously rings and rings and then loops back to the operator, so that solidified my assumptions once again, everyone is on lunch?! lol

If you know what you want and its on the shelf, this Lowe's is a good place to get it, if you need help or have questions, go to Home Depot, get your questions answered and then if you want, go back to Lowe's and buy what you need. lol

A bit of organization is needed in Lowe's "home organization" section.

We saw a small, plastic garage cabinet on display at the doorbuster area and decided we wanted to buy one. However, the item was not stocked in that area so we figured maybe they have more where they're supposed to be (i.e. not at the doorbuster area).

So, by using my female shopping instincts that males seem to lack, I led my hubby to where I thought the stuff would be. We found another display of the item we wanted all the way on the back in the home organization department, but still no available stock (they usually have it underneath the display). Signs on the display indicated that the item should be on aisle 24 H or something like that, so we looked for the said aisle and guess what, it led us back to the freaking doorbuster area (it's at the end of aisle 24)! I felt like I just got a prison card in monopoly.

Another thing to note: Lowe's women bathroom seems like it hasn't been maintained for a week. None of the stalls had toilet paper and the one stall that does, the toilet bowl was full of shit. Literally. [cue 2 girls 1 cup clip]. I feel sorry for whoever had the cleaning duty that day.

I went here thinking theres no difference between home depot and lowes. Lets just say lesson learned. I needed some help to order a custom interior door. Problem was that I couldn't seem to get help from those that worked in that department even though they weren't busy. A customer service person came to help me and clearly didn't know how to proceed so he kept asking the "professional" from that department who have one word answers instead of just helping me himself. Well after about 10 mins of getting no where I decided to leave. I went to home depot and was helped within a min of getting to the door dept. Assisted and was able to order my door with very courteous service

If you've ever turned heads at a hardware store by wearing 4 inch heels and a mini skirt, you'd know how it's like to be me.

I love the smell of a hardware store. I love the sight of huge towering shelves that hold every little knick and knack known to man in the world of home improvement. Look at the pretty DeWalt power tools on the end caps, the air filters for a new air conditioner, and paint for a splash of color in the bathroom.

I came in looking for a new bolt cutter and new lock set for our home. I adore big red bolt cutters that range from 32"-36" and can match my favorite North Face jacket. Yes girls, you too can color coordinate tools and accessories. Thank goodness Ryobi tools come in an acceptable color for a lady of my standards. And Ridgid tools come in a lovely shade of orange which is this seasons color!

It's unfortunate I had to spend 10+ minutes looking for a Kwikset lockset when they had the display but nothing on the shelves. Don't advertise a product you simply don't have on the shelves! But a nice team leader did show me there were absolutely none available in the bay area! Dammit! Oh well, at least I can still order online.

P.S. Girls, don't ever let your man know you can use a Miter saw when he can't. Just let him cut off his thumb and bake him cookies. It's funnier that way.

I came in here shopping for new countertops for my kitchen.
Suzette G. has been shopping around and we can get a pretty sweet deal here since all I need is a 10' top and some end pieces for our small kitchen. It all adds up to about $120 of material and some free labor from Joe Carpenter (Me) that will make a nice improvement to our home.
I also happened to stumble upon a Bosch orbital palm sander that was on clearance for $45 which was nice because my Milwaukee one had just broke and I needed a replacement.
I like this store because it's usually not crowded and I know where most of the things I need are plus the garden department is well stocked.

No more will we go to Lowe's (a mere 5 minute drive) to quickly pick up something for our various home projects!

    Scene:  Self-Check Out

(The bf not so efficiently scanning the items for payment.  Then, me swiping my AMEX the way it was indicated on the credit card panel.  Then the other way in case I was interpreting the picture incorrectly.  Then, frantically swiping it all different ways to NO AVAIL!  The machine kept telling me there was an error with reading my card.)

ME (turning to the one clerk assigned to the 4 self-check out registers):  Is there something wrong with this credit card scanner?

RUDE CLERK (looking up):  You're doing it wrong!

ME:  I tried the other way and it didn't work, so I was trying this other way again just in case.

RUDE CLERK walks over.  Takes my card and swipes it.  She gets the same error message.

RUDE CLERK (in a snarky tone):  Do you have another card?  This one is demagnitized.

ME:  Really?  I just used it the other day.

I pull out my VISA and swipe that card.  It doesn't work!

ME:  This one is brand new, and I just used it earlier today, so it's definitely not demagnitized.

RUDE CLERK:  Look I don't need any attitude.

ME:  Excuse me!?!?!  I'm not giving you any attitude.  I'm just telling you the card machine doesn't work!

RUDE CLERK walks away.  I was fuming, but didn't want to cause a scene . . .  Then, of course as fate would have it . . .   Bf tries his card and it works.  WTF!

Anyway, I was really irked by the clerk accusing me of having an attitude when in fact she was (in my opinion) the one being rude!  I think my comments were simply statements of fact that I may have stated in an exasperated and frustrated manner, but in no way was I giving her an attitude!  If anything she was the one with an attitude!

Okay, you be the judge.  Bf agreed with me, but that doesn't really count because he has to unless he wants to deal with my wrath, which sucks for him since we live together :)

    Shatangi and the Sink.

    Chapter 1: The Purchase

Shatangi went to Lowes to buy a sink and toilet set to replace the janky one left by my place's nasty prior occupant. The one that I wanted was out of stock and I needed it for the next day as the plumbers were scheduled. I waited too late in the evening to check another store so I upgraded and bought a better set and was very happy with my purchase.

They sold me a drop-in sink instead of a pedestal sink and my plumbers charged me full price and finished the other labor but were unable to install the sink as it was the wrong one.

Chapter 2: The Exchange Part I

I returned to the same store a few weeks later with the bad sink and purchased the good one. They were unable to return the bad one because I had no ID and had misplaced my receipt (my fault, true). I spied a cool special order pedestal better than the one I had bought previously and ordered it. I left the store with both both sinks.

Chapter 3: The Exchange Part II

A few days later they called me to let me know that my (hella expensive) pedestal had arrived and that I could come pick it up. I went to do so a few days later and I brought back the bad sink and the original pedestal and the returned the pedestal but COULD NOT return the bad sink because the discontinued selling that model and could not find the product code. After 45 minutes of trying to get an a-hole of a manager involved I was informed that I would have to call the plumbing department during the manufacturer's business hours to get Lowes to call and get their own code number (made no sense to me either). I left with the new pedestal and old sink, no thank you or sorry.

    Chapter 4: The Deception

When I called the following Monday morning I was transfered to a young man in the plumbing department. He requested what the make and style were and opened a book in front of him at the desk in the plumbing department and read me the Lowes code number. I asked him how he got it so fast and he explained that the book is always there and that all the employees know where it is and how to use it. I thanked him.

    Chapter 5: Solace

Today, I returned with the bad sink and met the young man who had helped me find the number the last time and he helped another cooler manger issue me a store credit very quickly. I hate not getting the right person the fist second or third time.

This experience has put me off this store somewhat but the great service I received today made me feel a little better. I have like $350 in store credit anyway. Let's be friends.

I hate that this is my closest Lowe's.  I love that after I went tonight for the first time, I remember how much I love Lowe's when I used to live in Seattle and hate the "Other Store". I am happy and sad because I know that I am going to start driving to San Brunos going forward, even though there's 2 of the "Other Store" closer to my house.

We are updating some decorative lights outside our house.  We had gone to the "Other Store" and bought some light fixtures in their more reasonablely priced range of $70 a piece, out of a fairly small selection.  We stopped by Lowe's tonight because we were going to Cleo's for some Brazilian BBQ and we saw a much bigger seleciton of outdoor light fixtures all in the price range of $30-$40 a piece... WOW!  We found something we liked just as much (if not more) for half the price.

They also have a really nice garden/nursery selection, nicer garden tools, more reasonably priced outdoor furniture, etc. etc.

    Can't wait to go again.

I usually don't like going to home improvement stores (HD & Lowe's)  but I have to give Lowe's props for offering free kiddie workshops.  These classes really satisfies your own little Bob the Builders and his friend, Wendy.

You can sign up for the Build & Grow Clinic via the Lowe's website.  The website will have a description of what the product is.  Each kid gets their own kit (the class the Kid attended was a build your own GMC truck), a pair of goggles and an apron that you can keep.  Parts are precut and drilled.  All you have to do is hammer the nails in.  Hammer is a little flimsy so parents will have to help the kids give the nails a good whack or else you're kid will be whacking forever at that nail.

Class is one hour.  You must reserve online to attend.  I don't think they close up reservations due to attendance cuz the class was pretty packed and they had to turn people away.  My best advice is to show up early to get a seat and a kit.

The Kid enjoyed the class a lot.  He's looking forward to the next class.

BTW, they give you a patch and a certificate upon completion of the class.  Moms and Dads can sew the patch onto the kiddie's apron.  Think of it as a merit badge!

    A great kid activity.

My husband and I went to Lowes to get a new fridge. We saw the one we liked. We asked to purchase. The sales guy looks it up on the computer and says "It's on the truck in the back of the store and we don't have anyone to take it off the truck, it's been sitting there for about a week" So I say, "okay, well I'm sure it'll be taken off the truck soon - can I just buy it and you call me when it's ready for delivery" Sales guy says he can't sell it until it's off the truck and for me to call the manager. So the next day I call the manager and I was put on hold forever, so they took down a message. The fool never called me back. We went back the next night and we asked a different guy to sell us the fridge. He looks it up on the computer and says it's been sold. WTF!

We ended up going to Sears and bought all of our appliances there. Now when I see Lowe's commercial of customers buying appliances I yell LIARS!

My Saturday Experience at LOWE'S was Stellar.

From the moment I walked in to the moment I walked out, I was treated
very well..Melissa at the Customer Service introduced me to Adriana who took me to the section I needed.  But, before that, Rocky, a sales associate was kind enough to look for a large box for me.  He came back and told me I'd have to wait, that was fine as I was busy with Adriana.

When Adriana couldn't handle my issue of a return, I said I wanted a manager.   No problem. Soon, BEN, the manager came and apologized for being late. ot was less than a 5 minute wait.  My problem was explained and he offered me a discount that I didn't feel was adequate since all I wanted was an exchange.  Since no products were similar and mine was discontinued, we struck a bargain and I was happy.  Adriana walked me back to Customer Service. Then Rocky reappeared with a HUGE BOX, way too big and showed me the way to another item.

No Complaints from e because THE SERVICE WAS THE BEST!  FRIENDLY, COURTEOUS, FAST and ABOVE PAR.

I have shopped there for years and I have never had a complaint.  I'll be back!

    10/29/2007 1 Check-in Here

An anticipated project for Matt in the upcoming new year, is to alter and remodel our fragile and outdated bathroom and kitchen. It has gotten to a point where our bathroom is nowhere as nice as the Lady's lounge of Nordstrom. After a recent tour of the department store's female lavatory, Matt has taken footnotes on what to install and use that concept to our proposed bathroom.

Matt didn't buy anything from Lowe's, but he had a lengthy chat with the Kitchen and Bathroom designer and decorator, Jim. Matt gave Jim a photo on his currently disgusting bathroom. Jim showed a few models and suggestion on what to do. Also, telling Matt what is newest plumbing fixture. Matt was thinking of putting a whirlpool-like tub in his bathroom. It is definitely needed for Matt's tough and stressful job, and would definitely feel good after a "long" strenuous day on the job.

Jim showed the possible tiles on the both needed rooms. Each porcelains and ceramic tiles are squared-measured at 2in x 2in. per square. Matt has installed floor tiles many times before and will be cake-walk for him to install.

Jim also saw Matt's photos and kitchen and was devastated on how old and disgusting it looked. So he computerized and visualize on how Matt's kitchen would looks after the change. The newest wooden floor was shown and would look nice in our kitchen. Since Matt has to wash the dirty dishes after dinner, he also asked Jim on a plan to install a dishwasher.

After our chat, the whole remodeling procedure for our bathroom and kitchen would cost nearly $16,000. That is including parts, fixtures, components and labor. Matt luckily knows a couple of resources who can install his needed remodeling rooms and may keep the cost down. Jim was very helpful, but investing in remodeling our crib is long process and takes time.

In 2009 treat every retailer like you are in a bazaar. Go with printouts of lowest prices online and ask what discounts and rebates there are. I even say, "I never pay full retail so what is the best deal you have in the house right now?" Often, if you establish good rapport, they will share this so have notes on models you reviewed or a mobile device handy to check reviews. And remember...

    N-E-G-O-T-I-A-T-E-!

Lowe's is always understaffed so go early. During sale or non-sale they will negotiate price, delivery, and other costs.

A little theater does not hurt either. Pull out brochures from competitors so they know you are serious. Even if they are just printouts online.

I said I had a $400 budget and wanted a specific $700 washer. After some creative mail-in rebates and discounts I got it for $425 with tax and rebates. Delivered with haul-away same day. 7am purchase and by 2PM we had a load of wash done.

They are friendly at Lowe's so it feels good to get a deal and give them the business.

Got a bangin' grill here for only $169.  HUGE warehouse.  Easy parking.  Quick checkout.  Lowe's smells the same no matter where you are.

Had to ring the bell several times while Ismael decided to come back from lunch or whatever.  But damn is he CUTE so I forgave him.

Go shop in Seasonal on Saturdays and ring the bell just to see the cuteness.

Came here to look for a soap dish and was told it's "over there" *points to an aisle a far distance away*. The staff couldn't even tell me what aisle number it was. When I asked where exactly it was, he responded "Over there. You'll see it." And guess what, they didn't have any soap dishes!

The manager here needs to have the store staff re-evaluated for their customer service skills because they have none. The staff there purposely ignore eye contact, and make themselves unapproachable by darting to the next aisle if you look lost.

Just recently renovated investment property so I spent a butt load of dough on this place. Since I had some some complications with the contractor, I had to delay picking up some of the items (ie. vanity, cabinets, sinks).

After spending a few thousand bucks at this venue, they were making a big deal of holding the larger items for a few extra weeks. That's bad mojo! Really? You're not going to hold a few extra items for someone who just dropped a few thousand at your store?

    Final Call:
Their customer service department did not address or help reconcile the issue of holding the larger items for me. No resolution, they responded by being rude. Had to go corporate on them.

You can say that this is TB's second home, since he comes here almost everyday for his DIY projects.

This is where he gets my door locks, paints or everything that I need for home improvement.

Given that he chooses this over Home Depot meant that this probably has more versatility and not to mention accessibility to his house.

When you need things for your projects I recommend you come here and you're not gonna be disappointed.

In my past experiences here I have always felt slightly lost but have come to expect that it's fairly self service in a large warehouse full of tools and supplies.

We recently had a leak in our sink and figured out it was the faucet.  I went to Lowe's to pick one up, had it installed and there was still a leak.  WTF - turned out the hose was faulty.  CRAP!  I wasn't about to have the faucet taken apart again to be returned and then re-installed.  I brought the hose back and was expecting grief, but was just asked to grab a new faucet and they traded out the hose and gave me the new one.  We put the new hose in and we now have a fully functional sink again.

I really appreciate that it was hassle free in an already pain in the arse situation.

(I really wish there were 1/2 stars cause I rank them 3 1/2 stars averaging this experience with my general visits - usually when I ask for help it's cause I need it and it's 50/50 on whether I get someone who is helpful or not.)

I have been to this Lowe's several times recently. The staff isn't extremely helpful in any way (I have never been asked if I need help). Prices are okay, but not that great. For instance the painting tape and tray liners were really over-priced. The selection on certain items is limited.

Lowe's, like other home improvement warehouse stores, is massive and filled with "foreign to most girls" type of products.  Thank goodness their store is organized with these giant signs that tell you if it's for plumbing or electric or painting or home decor.  Otherwise, I'd be just be another ant in this giant anthill.

I've found the people there to be relatively helpful and responsive.  Even if they don't have the product they will take the time to help find another store that has it or point you toward other similar products.

Single ladies... I wonder if this is a prime place to "say hello to that single guy" since this seems to be more of a guy zone.

I LOVE this Lowes.  I recently completed an extensive remodel where I did a lot of the purchasing for my contractors, so I got to really know some of those Lowes employees really well.

Almost ALL of them were super helpful throughout my entire remodel, and since they saw me so much, they recognized me and always asked about the progress of such-and-such (I can't believe they actually remembered!).  Other than one bored returns desk employee, I've been pretty happy with Lowes.

Also, surprisingly, they are much less expensive than Home Depot for most of the items I purchased, and given the extensive remodel, I frequented ALL of the departments.

I do wish they had a better selection of LED lights though.  And please keep sending me those 10% coupons!!!

Thanks Lowes!  This review was a long time in coming.

Seeing that I've been to this location over 15+ times in the last two months, I felt that I should write a review about my experience. Before buying a home I was always a loyal Home Depot customer because it was always the closest home improvement store to my parents house and had never set foot in Lowes. But now that Lowe's is closer to my new home than Home Depot and I have to say that I am now a loyal Lowe's fan. I never realized what sloppy and incompetent employees Home Depot had until I started going to Lowe's. Everyone is super friendly and helpful at Lowe's, whereas the Home Depot employees don't seem as willing to help and are also kind of a weird bunch in general. I'm also really like the fact that there are 3 Lowe's within close proximity of where I live because if one Lowe's is out of stock I can swing by another location without going too far out of my way.
