These guys have some pretty good deals if you take the time to browse a bit. Staff is very helpful. Good selection of pretty much anything you could possibly want. And I love the self check-outs. Convenient location and not too crowded too.

Remodeling a house can be a rough process. One of the things that makes it worse? Poor customer service from a supplier.
I bought considerable amount of material from this particular Lowe's and had to return some of the items due to conflicts with my contractor. I made it clear to the representatives at the store that the money was going to be spent at that location anyway.
Enter Jeffrey Benefield, the supervisor on premise. Not only did refuse to let me return some of the items, he incorrectly counted what was owed to me. The situation was confounded by his reluctance to hear the customer and to negotiate a decent solution.
After spending several thousand dollars, I thought he'd at least be receptive to a store credit. That way, I can prove I was going to spend the money from the returned items back on the store (considering the house was far from being complete).
I contacted corporate to procure the store credit and to file a complaint, which achieved the results I wanted (and is what I should've done in the first place!). Stand your ground and don't let them take advantage of you! -

Lowe's is conveniently close to my house, and they have what I am looking for 90% of the time. Yes, I feel that the customer service could be improved a bit. Customer service reps usually pass me by without asking if I need any help looking for anything (which is pretty much a mandatory task web working in retail services), lucky for them that I usually don't need the help. If anything, customer service is something management needs to look into...

I was sent here from the new South SF store because they were out of the item I wanted, and the old San Bruno store had it (why they need two box stores within 2 miles of each other is beyond me). So what they heck I went to the old San Bruno store. I knew exactly what I wanted down to the SKU# and the girl with tats running the department (and one of only two super-smart people who knew how to operate the special super-dooper cutter machine) was greeted by me with a big smile -- I wanted to get out of there fast so was on my best behavior. I said yeah I would wait while she finished up with another customer and told what I was about. She said she would handle it and I said I would be looking at some other items in the meantime. When I came back she was at lunch., Call the manager, who is "helping" another customer, and the only OTHER super-smart person who could operate the machine. Wait. Wait. It took me an hour to get service, and I never did see Miss Tats. Probably a good thing. I have worked on forgiving these folks for running such a horrible service operation (the manager sold me stuff I didn't need and made sure he never apologized for the long wait). But I really do have to say, Lowes rhymes with Blows.
