51 reviews for Low Price Auto Glass
One of the Business' Favorite Reviews What's This?
If you need your windshield changed this is without question THE place you should go to. Like previous reviews have metioned, the owner is a no nonsense kind of guy and he does honor the quote he gives you over the phone, no haggling, no questions asked.
I drove in, got out of the car, sat in the waiting room for 40 minutes, paid the exact amount I was quote and left totally happy. If only all businesses were like this one!
i called 5 other places, and they all charged between twice as much and 4 times as much as this place. granted, some of those other places would come out to my house, but i'm a cheapskate, and it wasn't my windshield that was damaged, so i could drive out there.
I had 2 windows knocked out by thieves. I called in on a monday afternoon and listed what i needed to the guy. he told me he'd have to go into the wrecking yard and look for them. he told me to "holla back" at him the next morning, since i said i wasn't in any hurry. he expected it would take an hour, since there were two windows. the price for two windows on a 1990s car was $125, very reasonable.
i pulled the car into the spacious garage, and went over to get something to drink and sit at the taco truck picnic tables farther down the parking lot. it ended up taking them only about 40 minutes. maybe a little less, cause it took them a few minutes to find us. normally they said i would've been able to wait in their office, but it was under construction. the guy was apologetic, and offered to give us some chairs to sit in outside the garage. it was nice and sunny, so i would've taken him up on the offer, if the taco truck area wasn't there.
they were nice enough to vaccuum all the broken glass out of the seats and floorboards, even though i had forgotten to pick up a bunch of papers and other stuff up off the floor.
this is a pretty grimy area, with lots of scruffy-looking people going in and out of the pick n pull lot, so if you feel awkward waiting around that kind of environment, you might be a bit uncomfortable. personally, i felt fine, even if i was the only female in the vicinity, so i got some stares. I didn't try the taco truck food, but it looked and smelled delicious.
the payment for the windows was quick and painless. they take visa and mastercard. tax is included in the estimate cost.
I had my windows smashed a multiple occasion of times (be careful when parking downtown in San Jose!) so I went on a mission to seek out a place that would give me the best rate and turnaround time. This place beats out all of the competitors in the area and they were able to change my windows the same day and give me the lowest price on my windows.
I've referred all of my friends here and everyone has been very satisfied with the quality, price, and same day installation.
It's best to call them first to tell them what kind of car you have before actually going there in person to see if they have the windows in stock. In one incident, they didn't have a window in stock for my PT Cruiser so they ordered it from a warehouse and had it in the same day to install for me
This place is easy to miss so make sure not to pass it!
Just got back with a new windshield. Before I chose to come here I got a few referrals from friends and co-workers. I'm am glad I chose Low Price Auto Glass. Sam gave me a great price and was VERY polite. When I got there the politeness was given by everyone that worked there! I took a few business cards to share with those that suggested other places. This place beats the others on many levels!!
I found this gem on Yelp, and found they met and exceeded my expectations. They were cheap ($125 for a honda windshield), courteous, and SUPER fast! Only took 15-20 minutes from start to finish. No problems with the windshield so far!
Highly recommended!
Came here back in February to get my back window replaced. The
owner is very nice and I only waited about 30 minutes for the whole
process. Also, they make clean your window after installation, which is
always a plus.
The price was cheap $100 for a toyota Rav4. Dont waste your time calling other places...you wont find a cheaper place.
I came here, since they offered me the cheapest quote of all the places I called. I paid $125 for a front windshield replacement on a Corolla. I dropped by around 1 pm on a weekday and waited around 45 minutes for installation. The owner was no-nonsense. I was in and out with no issues.
Just had a driver's side window replaced by Low Price Auto Glass. Sam was upfront and quoted a new and used price; I went with the "used" glass, which looked as good as new to me, for half the price of Safelite and other shops. They are right next to Pick-N-Pull so I assume they just go there and grab the glass. I arrived at 8:45 am and was out by 9:15. I watched them work on it and they saved all the trim pieces, cleaned and vacuumed, lubed things up, etc. They don't have a mobile service, so you'll have to make time to get it done. Even though having a window smashed by some punks is an unpleasant experience, these guys made it a pleasure to get it fixed. Definitely recommended.
City life means your car gets broken into. Boo. But a quick search on Yelp and a brief phone call later, I get an incredibly reasonable quote ($100) for repairing my front-passenger window (1999 Toyota Rav-4).
The best part? From the moment I got there, they looked booked and busy. But my window was replaced and the debris cleaned spotlessly in no time at all.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Yay! (:
just took my G35 in for the front windshield fix, the service was prompt and got it done in just a little bit over an hour. definitely recommended!
These guys have great service, great prices, and they're very friendly. I had the unfortunate experience of having my window regulator go out. They gave me a quote over the phone and honored it. Since I had to order the regulator from the dealer, they tied my window up for me for a decent price so that my car wouldn't be wide open while I waited for my part. Once my part came in, I went back to them and they had my window up and working in less than 30 mins. (I was lucky enough to catch them when they weren't busy both times).
I will definately go back to these guys if I have any other window problems.
Great find! They quoted me on the phone way cheeper than other places! Saved money and time cause they finished the window replacement as I waited. Maybe 40 min tops?! Wow! A+ !
Only complaint I have was they left a mess in my car.. Debris from the gunk holding the windshield. I wish they would have vacumed it up.
I needed the front windshield replaced on my Mitsubishi Montero. I called the shop mid week at about 4pm just to ask prices etc. I spoke to the owner and he informed me he had the windshield in stock and it would cost $135 including tax and installation and he could have it done the same day. So I drive up about 15 min later at the shop they looked busy but in about 40 mins my car was all done with a perfectly new and spotless windshield. I was given instructions that for the next few days to leave the tacky blue tape on the window and to leave a window cracked open and no car wash. SO overall a great experience everyone was nice and helpful and $135 is a great price considering everywhere else was at least $70 more.
Same issue as Cameo W. (below): thief smashed my passenger side vent window (the triangle at the back that doesn't go up or down) while it was parked in Mission district. The first quote I got was $160+tax, which I was pretty bummed about. Found this place on yelp, they said $85 all-in for a used window. I pulled it at 9:19am and was back out at 9:38. Very impressive, especially since they did a really thorough job vacuuming out the glass shards.
The guy was even nice enough to tell us that the junkyard next door had our exact car and if we needed any other parts we should go check it out.
Not that I plan to need any more new windows, but if I do at least I know where to go.
These guys are great. In and out quickly, they tell you exactly what you need to know, great price, (make sure to call your insurance co. I have AAA and I found out that I have some windshield deductible, so I only had to pay 100 bucks out of pocket...sweeeeeet!!!) nice people.
I will recommend them to anyone.
These guys are great. We called on a Sunday, they quoted us $165 for the front window of a minivan, and they got us in at 10am the next day. I drove in, dropped off, and drove out just one hour later. On time, on price, and great job.
I'd seriously recommend them to anyone.
Just got my car window fixed there. I needed a regulator for my drivers side window on my '97 Civic. The owner said he would charge me $110 for the parts and labor. I was at the taco truck nearby when I saw the guy working my car walk by, and he was about to walk into pick-N-pull when he saw me and walked back out right away. He got on his phone for a while, then came and told me that the owner thought he had the right part and had sent him to find the part inside pick-N-pull. I found that to be interesting.
He referred me to a place where I may find the regulator I needed, but I called Kragens and they had it for $35, so I just went over there and picked it up quickly, brought it back and they installed it for $45.
It was fairly quick, I waited about 35 minutes once they started installing it. Within the whole time I was there, they fixed about 6 or 7 cars.
Update 5/10/09
The regulator that they "fixed" there just broke today. He said 30 day guarantee, and it's been about 5 weeks. I guess you get what you pay for...
I brought both of my car in for repair ( yes! both my windshield was cracked about the same time) I got a good deal on my cars, one was a originally windshield and the other was a after market, for $300 work perfectly. They did a really good job, it was pretty quick, I waited about 45 mins for both cars to be repair. I originally hear of them from yelp. Yet again, thank you my yelp peers! Definitely recommend-able! They are next to pick-n-pull and you need to enter pick -n-pull drive way to get to next door to Low Price Auto Glass.
Saw the reviews on Yelp and called to get a quote to replace my windshield for a 2002 Tundra and was quoted $125 over the phone. Showed up yesterday and they not only honored the price, but had me out of there in 40 minutes. Awesome service, cheap price and quick installation! Great deal!!
The Short: Professional, fast, honest service
The Long: Tuesday night some jerk broke the small triangular window in my rear door so they could rummage in my gym bag, I called around and everyone quoted me prices of $150 and up.
I tried calling Low Cost Auto Glass and they quoted me $85. I drove over, and within about 30 minutes was out of there with a new window installed perfectly, a vacuumed out car, and a big smile on my face.
The owner is super friendly and has a great sense of humour - this place is highly recommended.
So, i went here with my first car and they fixed my window right away and i did not have a problem. Two years later, i come back and i called the owner before going (since i live in Palo Alto and is a 30 minute drive) to ask him if he had the glass for my car. He said, "yes, we do" so i go down there wait like 4 hours and the glass would not close all the way up. The owner said that it was not the glass that it was the car since they hit my window with a hammer. He said to go to the dealer and replace the part that was affecting the window to roll all the way up. So, i went and they said, "who ever told u that is an idiot".... (it was the wrong glass). And when i called him he knew that it was the wrong glass and he still installed it like this. YOU DO NOT DO THAT... so i go back to the place and he refunded my money(at least) and i got it done at the dealer.!!
Great place, very cheap, decently quick and easy to deal with.
The price is unbeatable, I called two other auto glass shops and this place was about 30% cheaper.
They were done in less than an hour, I am very satisfied.
I went here YESTERDAY to replace the windshield on my 2004 Tundra because they quoted me at $145 out the door, while everybody else I spoke with wanted $210 and up. I was out of there fairly quickly and went home happy.
However TODAY, I noticed a crack in the middle of my brand new winshield. Naturally aggravated, i went straight back there and expected the same nice customer service I received yesterday and also expected a new replacement free of charge. I was told that they only guarantee it from leaking. After some haggling and me threatening to call the police, he said he would replace it, but still asked for an additional $50... that Son Of a Bitch, he even accused me of tampering with it!
In conclusion, they do offer an inexspensive service, but I guess you get what you pay for. Their product is of poor quality and so is their workmanship. They do not stand behind their work.
Ah, the dreaded cracked windshield! Could have been a lot worse if I hadn't found this place.
I called different places for about half an hour, and this shop was by far the least expensive. They give you the bottom line price right away, rather than other places that quote higher prices and then let you negotiate down.
The owner did have my windshield, but warned me that the one he had in stock had a slightly blue tint on top. I probably wouldn't have noticed, but he was very up front and honest. While they were installing my windshield, I mentioned that my back left window wasn't coming up all the way. They quickly diagnosed the problem, and I'll be back to have the new part installed next week.
I'm not sure if the superb service and promptness had anything to do with the fact I mentioned that I found him on Yelp. In any case, Sam (the owner) speaks highly of Yelpers and claims to really enjoy the site.
The magic word cheap. The price your quoted is the price out the door period. If your still searching for a better deal give up, you have just found best price in Silicon Valley. If you have friends that drive around with cracked windshield that started small and is now so cracked it looks like it should be on Google maps, help them out and let them know about this place.
For good or for bad, I've been here for more than a few items.
1) rear Lancer window off its track
2) Windshield for a Honda Civic
3) Honda window stuck
4) Durango windshield
5) Honda windshield
Each time I've been here, the owner has been no nonsense. None of this "cash price" BS and bartering. One price, pay it or not. Wait is usually under an hour, but on Saturday its a bit busier. All said I've spent a max of $140 on any windshield I've ever had to replace by going here and its done super fast.
I'll take cheap and fast over a waiting room.
After waking up in the morning heading towards my car only to find that someone had broken into it and stolen my stereo, I had to find a replacement drivers side window....
All the places were quoting for over $200 and quite frankly I didnt feel like spending that much money for a 94 corolla....
So my search was over after fiance and his friend went to Pick N Pull and couldn't find a glass window, they found this place.
Though the name was quite cheesy, they had really fast service and it was not a penny more than $85 used window to replace my missing window.
I have them to thank for replacing my window after driving one full week without one and having to mess up my beautiful hair!! LOL
Cheap Auto Glass!
I called for a quote on the phone, and they gave me the price-out-the-door total almost instantly. No appointment necessary; first come, first served. This place is a bare-bones operation and very cheap. No frills, no nonsense. Did I say cheap? Quick, too! I was done in 45 minutes.
Unfortunately, they did cause some damage to the clips that hold the seal on each side of the windshield. I only just noticed this after a few months. That cost them one star.
I was not expecting that the only kind of glass they stock has the blue "sky" tint across the top, and I only found out after it was installed. I would have preferred it without, but for this price, I'm not going to argue. Other than that, the communication was good, and I feel like the place is a fair value.
Cheap and fast. You would think with the cheap price that they don't take credit cards, but they do!
Friendly, professional and fast. Love these guys.
I got my 93 civic si glass fixed for $120 out the door!
Need Auto Glass? Consider this place when calling around. I called them to replace the front right windows for an Audi A6, the quote for the replacement glass and work was $165. I also got a quote from two other places, the next closest price was $253 and they didn't even have the glass in stock.
The reason for the missing star is because the workers that install the glass were not professionals, he did know how to install it but I could tell that he was having a hard time and I'm sure there may be a piece of broken glass still inside the door panel. On the plus they did vacuum the broken glass left inside the car.
Glass is Glass, this place is the cheapest I've found but the work isn't perfect. I'm sure the screeching sound from the broken glass stuck in the panel will eventually go away.
Great place and super cheap. Even their new glass is cheaper than anywhere else i could find!
great job!
Thanks for the recommendations!!!!
So to be completely honest my windshield had been cracked for some time. and I finally got that fix it ticket.
now i don't know about you but i'm a full time student and have a full time job, so i don't have a lot of time or alot of money because i pay for school and rent and all that stuff.
so i looked around every place that i tried to contact they charge at least $170.
i find this place through a friend. i asked them what they would quote me. and they told me $90 bucks.
i got there and in 30 minutes they were done. !!! so i tipped them 35 dollars just for the extra love :]. they were awesome, and super friendly.
Thanks Yelpers for a great find! After a horrific violating experience of having my car broken into, I turned to Yelp to find the best place to replace my window. Low Price Auto Glass is the best! I called and was given a quotation for $135 (tax included), the lowest price. I was told no appointments and it was first come first served which usually means a long wait, but this was not the case. I pulled in at 11:10am and was out the parking lot at 11:45am. Thanks to Sam and his crew, my nightmare of an experience was made as positive as could be!
holy crap! they vacuumed my car! and put some sweet cherry smell in there. the miracle of their work was actually finding a windshield that would fit my 1983 Audi. Only one in the City of San Jose - cost me $250. but hell, i'm now one step closer to being able to sell a great historic vehicle.
only place i see for improvement is in the waiting area - not having a fan or anything to cool you down (or keep you warm) from the elements.
I seached for the best prices in town and they are it. The windshield comes with molding which my old one didn't They were able to help me with my Jetta right away Saturday morning 8:30AM. They said it would take 45 minutes on the phone, they were done in 30 minutes. Good service.
This is the cheapest place for a window replacement! I had my front windshield replaced for $165 out the door. As promised, I was in and out of there in an hour. Believe me, you'll call around and end up here =P
I got my windshield replaced after procrastinating for about a year (the crack was creeping toward the drivers side). I was quoted a price on the phone much lower than any other quote I received. I went on down, the owner waved me down from the street he knew I called earlier, my car was taken in right away. About 90 min later it was done, I payed for the work, was told about aftercare (heatwave was expected the following week) and out the door. It's a no frills place (no real place to sit and wait) but they did good work at a great price (for that I don't mind standing) I would recommend them to anybody.
some ghetto-@ss fool broke into my husband's car last night, this place gave me the lowest quote - on my way there now...
$125 total for a new front windshield for a 98 Honda Civic. I didn't have an appointment but there was no wait. They're also open 7 days a week which makes it easy. Right next door to Pick and Pull. Seems to be a good value. Would go back.
I have been here twice when both of my automatic windows collapsed into the door at different times. The people that work there treated me with respect and honesty and were able to get my car up and out within a few hours. I was impressed with how nicely they treated a woman customer! Its been 2 years since I have been there and I have had no problems with my door windows. I would go back again and would recommend them to anyone!
