Quite possibly the best hot and sour soup I've ever tasted. Chock full of veggies and will clear your sinuses after a couple of bites.
The dinnerware they use is very clean, white and looked new. I really appreciated this since most Thai restaurants serve you your meals on dinnerware that's from the 1800s or something.
The main meal was pretty delicious I got sweet and sour "chicken" with brown rice, yum! However, I still can't get that hot and sour soup out of my mind. I would definitely go back for that alone. I need to go back to sample their buffet next time they have it too. -

My first visit to this restaurant was just after it was purchased by Loving Hut. It was the worst meal I ever had in a restaurant.
Now, more than a year later, I am delighted to eat here. The menu now has the Loving Hut Asian style. I have eaten here a number of times, trying stiffer, noodle and rice dishes. The cuisine is substantially improve and now surpasses the fancier Chinese place just down the street.
I have even taken my elderly father here. It is a huge contrast to his normal meat and potatoes diet. Nevertheless he enjoyed his meal and says he will be glad to return.
The decor could use some sprucing including removal of some or all the TVs. I know they want to convert people, but the TVs are a huge turnoff. I have been to other outlets where the TVs are hidden and prefer it that way.
The staff is quite friendly and helpful in navigating a meal of textured vegetable protein. I always ask for tofu instead and find them quite accommodating. -

Went here for lunch and LOVED it. Me and my dining companion both got a bowl of miso soup ($3.50 each) which was really hearty and delicious. For an entree I got the God's Noodles (approx $8) which were great and plentiful enough to make two meals.
The waitress was so sweet and nice and very attentive. We also got free tea in the beginning of the meal which was a huge plus. I was really impressed with the variety available and how large the menu was. They also seem to sell some vegetarian/vegan groceries. They also have buffets every so often for $10 which is a great deal.
Will def. go to again! -

This place is AWESOME! I really wasn't expecting much, but the food is very savory, the staff is very friendly, prices are cheap and the restaurant is very clean.
I think I could be a vegan after leaving that place! I can't wait to go back again! Be sure to try the hot and sour soup! -

Can't stop my craving for Fresh loving rolls. Love it! Love that everything is vegan and they accomodate those who need a gluten free diet as well. Yum!

Review from Jon T.
I've been a patron of the folks who run this restaurant for years. First it was Buddha Hut, but before that some of the staff worked at Quan Yin on Hamilton (which apparently is also now a Loving Hut.) The menu that Loving Hut has now contains essentially the same offerings Quan Yin had back in the day. If you're completely unfamiliar to any of these former establishments, it's basically faux-meat versions of asian-style dishes. What's great about Loving Hut in Worcester is that the food is ridiculously cheap. Anywhere else the appetizers, soups, and entrees could easily be a couple more dollars each and it would still be a good price.
All the food is very tasty, but I've always been fond of the wonton soup and crispy chicken entrees. Try the cake too!
And yea, it's got the whole supreme master thing going on but i've never once had that been pushed on me or anyone else I've known. Some think it's creepy, but there's plenty of creepy things about a lot of other religions I know... -

Best hot and sour soup I've ever had. Favorite meal is Szchuan Eggplant with Tofu Basil Sauce. Soy "chicken" nuggets and legs are a tasty filling treat! Prices are reasonable but you'll have to pay for the rice if you want it with you meal. Daily lunch specials are a great deal and come with two vegan appetizers. Yum!!
There isn't much atmosphere eating in but the staff is very courteous and quick with service. TV plays in the background dedicated to the Supreme Master philosophy and education on vegetarianism/veganism/being eco friendly. Complementary tea while waiting for your meal and small treats after our meal.

These folks (this is the Vietnamese-English-speaking Loving Hut in Worcester; I believe that the Hamilton Street Loving Hut in Worcester speaks fluent Mandarin as well as English.
These folks appeared on the Boston City Hall Plaza AND at the Boston Vegetarian Food Festival (October 30-31, 2010). The folks from the Quan Yin meditation methods who appeared at the table NEXT to them were impressively gracious and professionally expert - I recall a mechanical engineer, a social worker, and others who were all personally impressive.
Oh, and their food is delicious, and they are all both deeply friendly and profoundly courteous and hard-working. Did I note that their food is impressively delicious? Yes, it is! It surely is!Listed in: Vegan in Boston

My husband and I have been here for a lunch and a dinner. (It should be noted that this restaurant has recently changed its name to Loving Hut.) The $5 lunch specials are a great value. The dinners are a bit pricier but not by much. $10 per person for dinner gets you plenty of food and a large order of rice on the side.
Unlike other vegetarian/vegan restaurants I've been to, this place does fake meat really well. My only complaint is that many dishes are fried and then drowned in sauce. Yes, they are flavorful but I can't image they are truly healthy. -

The staff was very friendly, the place was clean and pleasant. As a new vegan, I'm particularly interested in the food being good for you, which I'm very sure this food isn't. Everything is fried, drowned in sauce and very salty. It's tasty, but I'd rather eat at home. I doubt we'll go here again.

I went into Loving Hut because I heard great things about it. I had the vegetarian steamed dumplings and the tofu Pho. It was actually really good; I was a little surprised. Although the Pho did not taste like the traditional Pho, it was still very good. On thing to note is that you have to pay in the back. I waited 15 minutes for the servers to take my money before I realized it. Regardless, the place was clean, friendly, and the food was really good.

I loved it the first time I went, for a quiet late lunch. Had the steamed spring rolls and the szechuan eggplant. Delish.
Second time was a little iffier. Had the hot and sour soup, which tasted good, but a bit corn-starchy--really thick. The spring rolls continue to dazzle--they have a crunchy ingredient, very finely sliced and fried potatoes. The eggplant seemed a little less interesting the second time around. A "chicken" dish was OK. -

DO NOT CONFUSE THIS WITH LOVING HUT HAMILTON ST. THEY ARE TWO DIFFERENT WORLDS!
I have to start this review by warning, DO NOT even bother to dine in OR take out unless you have plenty of TIME and PATIENCE. This place takes foreverrrrrrrrrr to get your food to you. I have gone numerous times and have been seated and ignored for almost 20 minutes, with only ONE or TWO other tables in the entire place. I have just about every time, had to get up and find the "waiter" (more like a young boy with no serving experience) to pay and FINALLY get out of there. The food is very inconsistent, and most all dishes are fried, loaded with overly sweet sauces and tons of faux meat. This is a far cry from the delicious, carefully prepared dishes at the Loving Hut on Hamilton St. Don't waste your money (or time) with this place. Go to Hamilton St. and taste the LOVE! -

This place is 100% vegan and incredible. The service is a little slow, but pleasant, and the food comes pretty quickly. Their fake meats aren't as good as Worcester Vegetarian's, but I prefer grains and veggies to meat analogues anyway.
Ever since becoming vegetarian, I've been dissatisfied with Chinese food. I believe this place was more Vietnamese, but in any case, I've never been so happy with vegetarian Asian food.
My all-around-food-picky meat-eating friend even enjoyed her food. I'll be back whenever I'm in the area! -

Happened to be in Central Mass for work and found this place. Cute local vegan/veggie place. Extensive menu of asian inspired fake meat dishes. Was there early evening on a Saturday and found very few people dining there. Friendly staff and very casual atmosphere. Interested in the Supreme Master philosophy they designed their menu around. We need more places like this everywhere.
I had the sampler appetizer and general chicken with spicy sauce. Was surprised that all of it was fried. Can't go wrong with fried, but I'd like to try something else that isn't fried and doesn't rely on fried flavor. Their lunch specials looked like a great deal. I'd go back to try that. -

I think I like this branch more. The food are a larger portion here. God's Rice Noodle was good. Not very oily compare to other Chinese restaurant with similar type of noodle dish. I couldn't really taste the different "specialties" in the Triple Specialties. The soy meat are all fried in a batter and comes with a little white/brown rice. Thai General was also fried and very spicy and comes with white/brown rice. Delicious

I love the Loving Hut. I ate one of my first vegan meals there (longtime skeptic of anything meat-less), and quickly became hooked. The Loving Rolls are outrageously good, as is the Go Green Rice. I even enjoyed the soy Thai iced tea, even though I typically dislike both soy milk and Thai iced tea. Food aside, the staff is very friendly and always keeps your tea/water full. I highly recommend visiting the Loving Hut to anyone in or near Worcester.

I went to their New York City location this past June and I have to say that I didn't love it. So, when we were visiting a friend in Worcester this past weekend, and she suggested we go here for dinner, I was a little apprehensive. I'm glad we went though, this location was very spacious, the service was great, and the food was good. We decided to order several dishes and eat family style to try many options. We had The Fresh Loving Rolls, The Lucky Dumplings, God's Rice Noodle, Moo Goo Gai Pan, and Healthy Sesame Broccoli. The broccoli was cooked just right, and the fake chicken and beef were tasty. I wasn't sure how I felt about the fake sausage but other than that, everything was great. Plus, you get to figure out what the point of all the randomness on the TVs mean.

I have a few friends that meet in Sturbridge a couple times a yr. We were meeting yesterday and I threw out a curve and said lets meet at the Loving Hut in Worcester. As a Vegan I have read about the chain and was anxious to try it. As I drove there from Western Ma, I got nervous...as I was driving through some less than desireable areas of the city.
I was th elast to arrive and th eplace was adorable. Clean bright and very friendly atmosphere. The menu was a Vegans delight. To be honest I was overwhelmed. We were talking and reading and I couldnt really focus. There were no bad choices. The waiter (poor thing) came over a few times and we weren't ready. He recommended the Loving Rolls as an appetizer. OMG - they were amazing. I ended up with the Kung Pao Wow entree. It was fantastic. I only wihs I could have read each and every offering to enjoy all the options. I will definately go bac, maybe when my daughter and her bf visit. So excited to have a Loving Hut within easy driving distance of me! The service by the way was exceptional. I think the owner and perhaps his wife came out..to check on us. They were VERY attentive to our needs and were were not easy and were were yacking so much. I am thrilled. A little confused by the article in Veg News about the Founder and the rumors circling the chain , but I will leave those for now and enjoy until I hear they are not rumors. -

Worcester, MA
Now renamed "Loving Hut", the food here is very reminiscent of the offerings at Quan Yin Vegetarian on Hamilton Street, which I understand is now similarly renamed. Loving Hut's fortune cookies feature quotations from self-proclaimed "Supreme Master" Ching Hai and the dining room features a TV that is eternally tuned to her "Supreme Master Television" satellite station, so I can only assume these are the same people that have run the former Quan Yin for many years.
After being promptly greeted and brought to our table, my companion and I both ordered the Thai Iced Tea, which was surprisingly rich and creamy, although the deep orange coloring of the drink initially gave me pause. We selected the Ocean Love Rangoons for our appetizer. The vegetable-stuffed wontons were fried to a perfect level of crispiness, the soy-based imitation crab was reasonably crab-like, and the plum sauce was sweet and tangy without being overpowering. We ended up splitting orders of both the Healthy Fried Rice and the Thai General Chicken. While I doubt that fried rice can ever be termed "healthy", it was definitely lacking in the usual greasiness of the fried rice you will find at most Chinese food places. The fried imitation chicken chunks were dipped in a mild chili sauce that had a slight kick, but wasn't anywhere near the sinus-clearing level of spiciness some people might be looking for. It also came with some steamed rice, which mixed very well with the aforementioned chili sauce. Finally, our entire meal came to under thirty dollars, which was more than reasonable. Religious quackery aside, I quite enjoyed our visit and will not hesitate to return in the future. -

Delicious! Every plate and sauce have amazing flavors. The spring rolls were the best with a thick sweet sauce. They were crunchy- mmm- highly reccomended. The sweet and sour salad dressing was very good and not a lot was needed. Prices were reasonable. Oh, tofu in the chicken Kung pow was cooked perfect too.

My brother and his girlfriend were visiting and wanted to try this place because they had heard good things. We went in for a late lunch and were the only ones in the restaurant. After they seated us and gave our menus, we never saw another soul again. They didn't even so much as come by to take a drink order. After a little over 10 minutes, we had to give up and go elsewhere. So I have no idea what the food is like but the service was absolutely terrible.

=( i LOVED quan yin..my boyfriend lived a block from them for a year and I turned all of his non veg room mates on to their food..I was so so so disappointed by Buddha...my boyfriend and 3 friends and I all got violently ill from our meals there...It was miserable. I recall I got a fake chicken and peanut sauce...."crab" rangoons..steamed rice and a smoothie...we all got super sick, vomitting and severe stomach pains. I haven't returned since =(

I can't believe I haven't added a review for this place yet! I tried some of their food at Pet Rock a couple of years ago, and I have been going to the restaurant ever since. When my family first went, we were the only ones in the place, but, ever since, it seems like they always have a steadily growing crowd in there. It's for good reason, too. They have an expansive menu, so it takes a little while for them to put things together, but everything I have ever eaten there, and I have eaten probably close to everything on the menu, is just awesome. Everything on the menu is vegan, but it doesn't matter. I'm the only veg in my family, and everyone loves it. My mother-in-law loves it, my wife loves it, my 3 daughters, aged 5, 3, and 2, love it. We always start off ordering a few things, and then a few things more, and then a few things more. The prices are pretty reasonable and the portions very good, but because of the quality of the food, we always end up spending about $100 or more and taking a whole lot home. It's pretty much my favorite Chinese-American food restaurant anywhere, though Sichuan Garden II in Woburn is a close second.
