Coffee, coffee, coffee! My favorite addiction is coffee. This North Fork gem of a cafe is a charming and perfect spot to meet for this caffeinated, liquid gold with friends and business colleagues alike. (My usual is the Cappuccino. Yum!)

Love Lane Kitchen also has the added benefit of offering the best lunch for natives and travelers. Truly the go-to place for, "Let's do lunch!"  It is comfort food with a New American twist...and without the greasy spoon. The Goat Cheese Panini is what you will find me ordering on most visits. However, I highly recommend their salads as well. They marry the freshest of flavors to please the most selective palates.

At this local meet-up, the printed menu is excellent but doesn't change much. The key is to order from the vast chalkboard wall of options that displays seasonal fare that we North Forkers love.

Dinner is offered at this Mattituck hot spot, which has proven to be delicious, but my recommendation is to stick to the breakfast/lunch cafe menu. Its environment lends to the cozy, small town feel but expect a bustling, energetic atmosphere.

My final piece of advice for visiting Love Lane Kitchen is: Be prepared to see one of your neighbors, co-workers or old schoolmates, because this is just that sort of place.

Allow me to explain these two stars. Love Lane is fine, don't get me wrong, but for the price of entrees here I expect more of the food. If this was a comfort food place that had $15 entrees, I would certainly step up this rating to 3 stars (satisfactory dining).
I was here with a large group of people after our riding our bikes to various wineries in the area (Shinn, Lenz). Love Lane seemed like the perfect answer: the menu looked tasty, the restaurant looked cute, almost quaint, and it was right by our cars which were parked at the train station.

I shared the lobster roll special and Grilled Pork Chop with roasted yellow carrot mash, pea tendril salad, apple cider sauce. They were both fine, but nothing to write home about. Other pitfalls were the burger (which was served cold), the flies buzzing around the restaurant, and the open door into the kitchen.

Very cute place in the less pretentious north fork.  Nestled in a little town maybe 2 blocks long, there aren't many other options.  Thankfully the food here is terrific.  The wait on a weekend can be long, but they take your number and call you when your table is ready.  Too bad there aren't more shops to wander in while you wait.

The lobster roll here is great.  Destroys that Montauk pt staple (lunch) in both quantity and quality.  You get very fresh nicely cooked, large chunked lobster on a soft roll.  Not much filling to speak of, just plain crisp lobster.
Compared to that Mayo/celery mess they serve at Lunch, Love Lane is tops.  One of the better places to get a Lobster roll without having to drive to Maine. Sweat potato fries were fantastic, the garlic fries were not.

I've eaten here once of lunch and once for dinner. Both times the food was excellent and fresh. I found them to be a little pricy for dinner but it's also clear that all the food is made from scratch, no microwave or frozen food served here. It has a very homemade quality about it. Simply delicious.

On a side note, my husband is a vegetarian, and was unable to find much to eat for dinner. Lunch time was more successful.

This place is really quaint and sweet. It is located on Love Lane, amidst other quaint establishments. I haven't eaten in here, I've only taken out food, but I've never had an issue. The girls who work here are really sweet and there are a lot of food options on their menu. Whenever I am at my summer house in Mattituck, I always come here for food. It never disappoints.

We stumbled in after driving out east for a road trip.  Very cute place and I liked the casual atmosphere.  We were able to sit by the window and people watch during lunch, which was an added treat.  I had the burger with garlic fries.  Cooked to perfection and the fries went really well with it.  My friend had the Kobe Beef Hot Dog which was HUGE and really good.  It tasted like Nathan's hotdogs but better and probably a little healthier as well.  He had the sweet potato fries which were a little too sweet for me but everyone enjoyed them.  Good service as well.

A friend and I stopped in for lunch yesterday (summer weekday afternoon) at around 12:45pm and had no problem snatching up a seat outside. The menu selection was great-looking on its own and the prices were pretty reasonable (averaging around $12.50 for sandwiches and $16 or $17 for entrees), but I decided to go for the lobster roll special, which was $21. The lobster roll came with a generous portion of lobster salad, though I thought it was a bit peppery for my taste. The bun was deliciously buttery and just lightly toasted: perfect. The side salad I substituted instead of fries (and was charged a dollar for) was actually a meager pile of slightly-wilty mescalin lettuce with the barest hint of dressing. My only other criticism was that the service was awfully slow... but maybe that's just me not being on the same pace of the folks out on the East End.

Overall, the ambiance, the quality of the food, and the reasonable prices will bring me back for more if I ever find myself on Love Lane again.

Enjoyed a decent lunch here over the weekend. The ingredients were fresh (need to work on the fries) service was good for a casual place, great patio seating for a warm fall day.  There was nothing overly special but certainly comfortable and inviting. Expect to wait on the weekends for sure.

I cannot believe it. Decent fish tacos on the East Coast. Yes, you heard me. Fish. Tacos.

What made them stand out? Well, the pickled red onions, the fresh guacamole, the fresh tortillas, the wonderfully grilled fish and the impossibly large portions. If I am ever out here boozing it up with the wineries again - I'm coming back for another round.

I'll also be back for the incredibly addictive sweet potato fries, which were crisp and had that salty-sweet combination of flavors - I feel my mouth watering as I type.

And finally - the service with a smile and that went above and beyond what was necessary. When we paid the check and asked to wrap up the leftover fries (I'm eating those later!), our waiter left and came back to inform us that the busboy inadvertently disposed of them. But wait, there's more. He proceeded to then tell us that he had the kitchen fry us up a fresh batch. Now, if that doesn't put a cherry on top of a great meal, I don't know what will.

If you come here, sit outside - the cute alley with the painted walls is definitely worth hanging around in. No shady alleyway here!

    I'm a fan!

I recently tried the Love Lane Kitchen for dinner after spending many a morning noshing on their brunch.  I was a little skeptical because the brunch rush is a little hectic with people standing around waiting for a table and getting up to get their own coffee.

Dinner was the perfect mix of casual ambiance and well executed food.  Good enough for a first date without being too stuffy.  The GF and I shared the mussels in green curry sauce to start, then I had the pork chop and she the burger.

The mussels were great.  I love green curry so this was a flavor combo I was eager to try.  The sauce was a little thin and could have been terrific with a little coconut milk or some thickening agent.  The other downside was that they brought two measly pieces of bread to soak up all the delicious broth.  We asked the busboy if we could get some more bread and 10 minutes later he brought two more tiny pieces of toast.  Kind of disappointing.

The burger was a good burger.  We were hoping to try the lamb burger on the lunch specials board but were told that they put away the lunch specials for dinner so all we had was the regular beef.  What sold us on the burger however was the side of garlic and herb fries.  When the plate came, plain old soggy french fries.  VERY disappointing.

The pork chop dish was the star of the meal.  Perfectly cooked, thick, juicy, flavorful pork chop.  It sat on top of sauteed spinach which was not cooked to death (thankfully) and blue cheese mashed potatoes which were phenomenal and not overly blue-cheesy.

Some other notes:  Service is okay, our waiter was pretty bad but there was a manager who came by our table a couple of times and was super friendly.  They have great beer on tab, but ask someone who knows about them to recommend one.  When I asked what one of the beers was I was told "its dark."  Turns out it was a pumpkin ale.

All in all I will certainly be back.  It's nice to have a place on the NOFO that takes food seriously but isn't prohibitively expensive.

Wow...I'm surprised I haven't reviewed this place yet. It's GREAT and a definite favorite. I'm giving it 5 stars because well for the north fork of long island, this is "as good as it gets." A clean, cool, and foodie-friendly spot, all of the cuisine has a local emphasis as well as a strong local wine list. It takes me back to my family's time in Napa, cruising the vineyards and then hitting a local food joint that is just simply to die for.

In the summer, their lobster roll is a favorite of ours. But truthfully everything will be prepared with love and care. If you do have an issue, it is often handled expediently and nicely. I'm really psyched to see the foodie/local food scene sprout up on the north shore. Keep doing what you're doing, Love Lane Kitchen. It's good :)

Located on the adorable Love Lane in Mattituck, the Love Lane Kitchen serves up delicious breakfast and brunch items (luscious looking waffles and griddle cakes)  and now dinner, too.  I had an avocado & mango dalas that was fresh and tasty - but a bit over-dressed.

We sat at the communal table in the center of the small dining room.  There is also some outdoor seating.  It can get crowded, and the young, friendly gals serving can be over-taxed at times.

My dining companions are vegan and could not eat the steel-cut oatmeal (porridge) as it was cooked with milk.  They had fruit platters.  There are a few vegetarian (but NOT vegan) choices - but if you eat Duck or Lobster - try those.  A few guys had the lobster rolls (way expensive, by the way) and they looked a bit too mayonaisey for my taste - but they were, inded, LOADED with claw meat.

All in all, I'd like to give them 4 stars (or maybe even more) but too many little details were overlooked.

Great coffee, a selection of Might Leaf teas.

Cute decor - my favorite is a sign that reads (and that I will quote eremore) "All unattended children will be given a cup of espresso and a free puppy".

    ROFL!!!

A perfect place to stop for dinner after the matinee show at the North Fork Community Theatre just around the corner. Those of you that don't appreciate the friendly, casual service and the really good food in a simple but charming setting, should probably go back to the Hamptons on the South Fork  with all the glitz and beautiful people. The best lobster roll, full of large chunks of claw meat, not fillers and mayo, on a toasted, buttered roll; a Cuban sandwich better than any to be had in Florida; they even offer a choice of regular, sweet, or polenta fries; and a "special" butternut squash soup that was truly special. I would add one more star if the green salads were better dressed. The coffee is perfect, and if you're into authentic small towns give Mattituck and Love Lane Kitchen a visit.

Have eaten here a bunch more times since my original review, have been to llk even during winter and it has always been consistently delicious and enjoyable !  We've learned to make a reservation prior to arriving an it has never been a problem.  Dinner at llk is such a great addition to the delish breakfast and lunch as well, and the outside area is adorable.  This place has such great attributes:  great food, consistency, great drinks, pleasant ambiance as well as adorable outdoor space for warm sunny days.  The north fork in general is such a special place - llk just adds to it!  And the staff (ESP the regular hostess) is nothing but accommodating however I have seen people be turned away at the door, so def make sure to reserve in advance!

Love Lane Kitchen is a cute, quaint little place that tries to look like Mid Century Country Americana and succeeds without being kitschy.

This was a great place to stop for lunch while wine tasting. I can only imagine how crowded this place must get on the weekends during the summer.

The cuteness of the place also extended to their presentation. I ordered a cup of chicken soup as it was cool & drizzly outside. It came in a tall coffee mug with sourdough toast points on the side. It was super fresh & yummy and chock full of white meat chicken. My chicken Caesar salad was also quite good.

We also all shared their garlic fries. Herbed fries is a more apt description, however. They were delish and there were sprigs of fresh rosemary in the basket which made them taste even better. And, unlike most garlic fries they were not soaked in oil. Really tasty. Definitely stop in here if you're in the area and there coffee was excellent too.

Wow what a treat, everything was fantastic. Great atmosphere, caring knowledgeable waiters  and best of all the new head Chef  Abraham Flores. A direct New York City import who makes  it a great dining experience. At last a chef who take pride and love his work.  When we complemented the cuisine he even made a personal appearance to thank  us. You don't have to live in the Hamptons to be treated like you do. Great food , affordable prices, a North Fork must dine experience! Check this place out you'll be glad you did!

Heard good things, and after a 15 mile bike ride with mom and pops, we grabbed a table outside in the sun at Love Lane Kitchen. It truly did not disappoint! We each grabbed ourselves some self-serve coffee, each had a different varietal, and each RAVED about how great the coffee was.

Shared by all were the sweet potato fries, and although it's hard to screw these up, they were served with ketchup and some homemade chipotle sauce, which we did not really enjoy. Fortunately they provided me with maple syrup for the fries which saved the day.

I had the Cuban, which was served with "fried plantains", I should have asked the waitress to specify if they were sweet plantains, which I neglected to do, and they were in fact fried sweet plantains, not my favorite, but done well nonetheless. The sandwich at first glance appeared small, but after getting through 2/3rds of it I realized I felt like a fat bastard, so it was extremely filling.

My pops got the fish tacos (from the chalkboard specials list) and his reaction was similar, they appeared small but were very filling. He enjoyed them as well, along with the fresh, local cucumber salad.

My mom had grilled chicken salad, another hard-to-screw-up menu item, but they didn't screw it up and she enjoyed it immensely.

Definitely a great spot - perfect for lunch or brunch during a wine-tasting adventure, bike-ride, harvest fest, etc.

    LLK, somewhere in middle America

Great feel to the place, vast and appetizing specials (I opted for 3 fish-oriented lunch specials, all locally-based), appealing and friendly staff. Great local beers on tap and a cool crowd. Lobster roll rivaled that of Lunch (in size and taste, even for nearly $20..came with fries too), shrimp salad sandwich was delicious (and filling with onion rings on the side), and the grilled fish tacos were excellent. Reasonable pricing and a quick turnaround for takeout. A staple that's rightfully stood the test of time.

Hands down, the best breakfast spot on the North Fork can be found at Mattituck's Love Lane Kitchen. If the stuffed french toast appears on the list of specials, immediately run into the kitchen and claim your order before they run out! Simply delicious food. I love the daily frittata special and the bacon is always cooked to perfection. Sure, if you arrive after 10 am you'll probably have to wait 10-15 minutes to get a seat, but the sweet shoppe across the street will keep you occupied until they call your cell phone and tell you that your table is ready!

Came here for lunch with my girlfriend and was very happy with the meal.  Not sure how this could be anyone's "worst meal ever" - the food is unpretentious and well prepared.

I had the fish and chips - they were well seasoned and came with a healthy serving of fries.  My girlfriend had a grilled chicken sandwich (with avocado, bacon, etc.) and she was very satisfied with that as well.

Take this from someone who eats out several times a week, and has eaten at restaurants of different cuisines throughout the tri-state area, Europe, and Australia - you will have a good (if unspectacular) meal here.  Also, check out the cheese shop across the street if you have the time!

Cute place to stop by during a trip to the farmstands.

Dog friendly and comfortable outdoor seating. Might not be a bad idea though for them to clean outside a bit.

The food was delicious. The chicken, mango and avocado salad, the vegetarian goat cheese panini and the hamburger were all well-made and enjoyable.

But the garlic fries were a huge disappointment. They were diner fries with cloves of garlic thrown on top. When they first came - they were just plain fries. The waitress took them then brought them back with the cloves of garlic. We asked her if this was really the garlic fries listed on the menu.

The wait was too long but the service was overall friendly.

Good food. Fairly priced. OK ambiance. Slow service.

Service:   awful bordering on ridiculous.  Food:  once was very very good - multiple times medicore and many times horrible.   One would consider sending it back but if the first time around it took 1 1/4 hours to get the meal, once can only imagine how much longer it would have taken.  Owner is horribly arrogant and whoever said he thinks he is Bouley is correct - he is not.  Nor is his chef - and slowly but surely over the years the food pricing has crept up and up - recently ate at the North Fork Table - a favorite of ours - for a price fixe of 60 - including app/main and desert - added up a meal at love lane kitchen - and it exceeded that amount and was AWFUL in comparison - cut your price LLK, but what you are and just that - and for gods sake hire someone to manage the restaurant who knows what they are doing.  PASS PASS PASS on this place -

DO NOT EAT AT THIS PLACE!!!!!!! Waste of money and the drive out to the east end.

As an individual who eats out at least 3-4 times a week to sample a variety of cuisines anywhere from the east end of Long Island to NYC, and then at times onto New Jersey and various New England gems, Love Lane Kitchen has to be the WORST place I have EVER eaten at. The whole experience has left such a sour, or for that matter, tasteless film in my mouth.

Not only was the food tasteless and as apathetic as the hostess who sat us, we couldn't have felt more uncomfortable in the uninviting ambiance that one would think "Love Lane Kitchen" would exude to be synonymous with such a name.

Once we arrived at Love Lane Kitchen we were greeted with a hesitant "Do you have a reservation?" greeting from the hostess despite the 8 empty tables, 6 of which remained empty for the entire time we dined there. (And to be honest, there wasn't anyone knocking down there door to eat.) It was like she didn't want us there because she felt that we weren't dressed appropriately. I am assuming this because of the look she gave us when we came in. Interesting because I was more dressed up than some of the patrons dining there. We both were looking forward to eating at Love Lane Kitchen on our anniversary and the rude hostess ruined it for us by reiterating how lucky we are that she had received a cancellation and that we were able to get a table. Funny, because the other couples that came into the restaurant were not interrogated if they had a reservation or not, instead were greeted with a "Hello" and "How many are there of you?" Now you say that is appropriate?

To describe the unappetizing dinner which lacked flavor, character, and savory goodness would probably take me another 3 paragraphs and quite frankly I am tired of devoting this amount of time to this terrible experience. The only pleasant variable in this whole fiasco was the waitress, she was so kind.

I will say though that anyone who has eaten here and thinks that it's "amazing" and the "best food," I commend you because you obviously have yet to eat good food.

I recently went for a drive to Orient Point for no reason whatsoever, just bored, and this led me right past a little restaurant called Love Lane Kitchen. I'm not sure of the history of the place, but it looks as if you traveled back in time to the 1920's that or it was plucked right out of Savannah, Georgia. (Alas, they had no sweet tea.) I had the mango and avocado salad and my husband had the crab cake sandwich and we both enjoyed our meals. I would definitely return. I didn't think they were too over priced, especially since I am renting a 2 bedroom piece of crap for $2500. Now that is overpriced.

This is a really cute restaurant on a really cute block called Lover's Lane.  Traveling east from Queens, this was a great first stop.  I felt like I was a million miles away and forgot about all of my everyday worries.  My girlfriend and I stopped in for brunch which was good, but nothing special.  We both got egg dishes. The space itself was very reminiscent of a small town diner from the the 40's or 50's.  I don't think I would come back for the food necessarily, but definitely for the atmosphere. The coffee here is also legit and should keep you going all day.

Love Lane in Mattituck is adorable.  This eatery fits in perfectly.  It has the old-school lunch counter, the baked goods in baskets on the wall, the gelato at the front, etc.  What looks like a diner from another era is much more when you get to the menu and food quality.  They have lobster rolls, Pad Thai, big Mediterranean salads with steak, etc.  If you're driving through the North Fork wineries, this is a great place to make a stop.  Cash only, FYI

Iced coffee made with on-premise-roasted coffee beans and ice cubes made of iced coffee! The attention to detail here at Love Lane Kitchen is evident. LLK offers a variety of sandwhiches, salads, and baked goods that are great to either eat there or bring to the next vineyard/beach you're visiting. General manager, hostess, Jane-of-all-trades, Jennilee Morris runs a great operation here in the small town center. The Mediterranean salad with flank steak is excellent as is the chicken/avo sandwhich and all of the desserts. Top the meal off with a piece of the citrus/ricotta cheesecake. D$%n!

Whenever we go to the North Fork, we like to eat at Love Lane Kitchen.  They always have interesting food choices and good wines.  I'm hooked on their Cuban Sandwich, but everything's good.  I tried their coffee, because they roast their own beans.  I had Cafe Au Lait.  It was okay, but I like my coffee stronger.

Very cute little restaurant on a cute street. Went there for breakfast/brunch...the omelettes were very good, as was their jam (which seemed like they actually made it?). Staff was extraordinary friendly. Overall, an extremely pleasant experience.

Cute, homey place and perfect for Sunday brunch! Friend recommended this but we had to wait an hr for a seat (friend also claimed it was unusual to wait at all). Waitress was super nice and took our number down to call us when a table was ready so we had drinks elsewhere before coming back to chow down. It's a bit cafeteria-style with some stand alone tables and some long ones connected. Had the lobster roll which had chunky meats of lobster and was not overly saucy (altho sauced dripped all over my plate). Came with garlic fries which were good. Sooo many good choices on the menu, if I ever come back out would def try something else (Kobe beef hot dog!). Great service and reasonably priced.

I had the lobster roll with the sweet potato fries. I enjoyed the lobster roll and the fries, however, there was too much mayonaise in my opinion which overwhelmed the lobster. While there was a lot of lobster on the roll, I thought at $19 it was still overpriced. My lobster snob friends from RI were totally disappointed.

My two friends had upset stomachs immediately after the meal and throughout the afternoon. We all ate the same thing and I was fine,  however, I take massive amounts of probiotics and may be less sensitive to grease. So we're not sure if the fries were the cause or not.

very very good local hot spot! Been there for all meals-all are very good. the place fills up in the summer and fall months due to all the North Fork visitors at those times, so if you go at these times, be prepared to wait for a table. I recommend the lobster sandwich, fish & chips, eggs and bacon-really anything and everything is good here!

A great meal on the North Fork. We stopped in based on Yelp reviews and were pleased. We tried the soups du jour, creamy tomato and vegetarian vegetable and the lobster roll ($19). Awesome fries! Everything was good; the coffee is delicious too.
Atmosphere is cozy and the waitresses (all female) are helpful.
