Great show! A wonderful way to spend an evening with friends, laughing laughing, laughing. It also helps that this man CAN sing.

It was mentioned to me that i should attend this play because Enzo Lombard was hysterical. so, i did one night, and brought a few friends. we all laughed our asses off and at one point i nearly cried it was so funny. watching  a hysterically animated gay man put on a show so funny that you know it wasnt made up was just my cup of tea:) i am actually going to go again:) i cant wait. the theater is small but cute...and i really, really, really liked that you can bring your drinks in. i even had a starbucks latte in there and no one even flinched. god, i love that.:)
i for one, gave a standing ovation! now i am off to find and keep my sandiegodavid:)

What a great series of sketches about the actor's life.  At times heart wrenching, at times hilariously funny.  The play is very moving and funny at the same time.

The one man act was very well done, the personalities were priceless, and the love story one you wanted to cheer for.  I couldn't recommend this show enough!

Enzo is a gifted storyteller who keeps you captivated with various characters through accents, mimicry, and compelling stage presence. His stories that he so thoughtfully has packaged for the audience are crafted in such a way that you are sitting on the edge of your seat, curious to hear---in a train-wreck sort of way--- how each episode in his roller coaster life is going to resolve.

I think it is therapy for both him and us--soothing for him to document his crazy life and soothing for us to know that people can suffer, but will triumph to make a one-man show out of it!

The scenery: an empty stage sans a chair and stage markings.  The cast of characters includes a filipino tranny, a latino from the Deep South, his lover the protagonist, the protagonist's mom and family.  Therein lies the twist: all these characters are played in sincere believability by one man: Enzo Lombard.  Think Arthur Miller's "Our Town" except all the characters are played by one man.  No costume or prop changes.  All hinging on the ability of the performer to capture the imagination of the audience.

How does Enzo do?  In my opinion, I was treated to a roller coaster ride of emotions from love to heartbreak, uncertainty to discovery...despair to contentment.  And the man can sing his ass off.  Some of the situations seem far-fetched when read on paper but the way Enzo tells the story adds a depth of realism that makes it believable.  The audience experience's Enzo's highs and lows as if it were themselves in his situations and I am sure all of us there could think of similar situations in our lives.  I believe a theme to Enzo's play is that it is ok to laugh at yourself and be a little unsure sometimes.  Given enough time, we all find that balance in life that Enzo's character finds at the play's end.  I definitely will recommend this to all my friends!

Fantastic show.  I laughed and almost cried.  Enzo Lombard plays all the characters.  He is funny, sincere, neurotic, and believable.  One of the best love stories I've seen in a while.  A kind of San Francisco Sedaris, he kept me laughing throughout.

The ten-year anniversary show will be held in mid January.

"Love, Humiliation & Karaoke" is a touching, hilarious, autobiographical one-man show.  Enzo Lombard brings his journey  to life with comedy, drama, and the perfect karaoke song to accompany each situation.  I highly recommend it!

Among a few other forms of performance art, one man shows typically aren't my cup of tea, nor are shows that are "too San Francisco." But Love, Humiliation and Karaoke is nothing short of phenomenal, and while San Francisco plays a large role in the story, the storyline easily transcends those confines; it becomes clear that we can all relate to Enzo Lombard's tribulations and that the values and emotions derived from the story are universal. LHK is primarily humorous but runs the full gamut of emotions, and the witty writing is perfectly suited to Enzo's entertaining performance style and well complemented by the singing. All in all very entertaining.

Being able to play multiple roles all by yourself is a special talent that Enzo does very well. I went to his show over a year ago and greatly enjoyed it.  Now that I have finally joined Yelp I am writing a much deserved positive review.

Love Humiliation & Karaoke is a hilarious one man show - a series of wonderful vignettes of his real life, told with such raw, honest emotion, and self-deprecating humour, accompanied by Filipino transvestite versions of Air Supply songs. It's basically a true story about his crazy, messed up life, how twisted his family is, how rough situations in life just screw with us sometimes, and how he created love in his life anyway by choosing to grow and change and make room for it instead of giving into the insanity. When he chose to keep loving and growing, he attracted those things into his life. What a beautiful human being! Never will you laugh so much at misfortune, I promise. If you're in SF, go see it. It's great. It's funny. It's beautiful.

My first Yelp review! The last play I saw before this was Cirque De Soleil's "KA" The contrast between that ultra-produced extravaganza and the one-man, black background couldn't have been greater.

Which left me with a greater impressions. Definitely LH & K. It made me think, while Circque de Soleil, i just watched. I saw my own life, and those of many people I know, in the characters played by Enzo. How he captivates the audience and keeps us in peak attention for two hours is absolutely amazing, and he didn't even use any fireworks!

If you can, check this show out!

I saw this performance for the third time last week after Enzo invited my sister and I, it was just as hilarious as the first time. I have been moved by Enzo's story every time and really love sharing this experience with family and friends.

Funny and touching.  Although I am still wondering why Mama wanted him to come over for the holidays (??) and what ever happened to Dad. San Diego Dave's cotton candy escapade is the highlight of the show. But hey, that's just me!

What an amazing and extremely moving one-man show! It definitely touched me deep in the core of my heart, it is so starkingly real. It is also funny as hell! I was laughing so much, it hurt! It is extremely moving, and i am so impressed at the honesty and gusto that Enzo pours out into this performance. I highly recommend it!

When it starts, you might think you're in for 2 hours of "Just Jack!" (cf. "Will and Grace"), but this performer is talented and very funny. It's even touching in a (thankfully few) places.

This solo show is the best I've seen in years.  Not only did Enzo Lombard craft an excellent script, he's funny and can sing.  Without giving away the plot I'll say it's a love story with an SF edge - hilarious.  Opening night, he got a standing ovation!  The audience went nuts...as they should have.  I will be seeing this show again and bringing my friends.  In Union Square at the Stagewerx (Shelton) theatre on Sutter near Powell.  Tickets at http://brownpaperticke...

A smart, funny, touching, thought provoking evening at the theater. It is a small venue and it feels very personal. I was there opening night and we all loved it. I can't recommend it enough! It is edgy yet touching without being sappy. Then he hits you with his singing. Anyone with a good sense of humor who is curious about human relationships should see this! I will definitely go back and bring friends!

I went to see Enzo's play on opening night and I can't find enough words to describe how fantastic it was!!! He held a very captive audience that was laughing, crying and singing with him as he told his very colorful and entertaining story of finding love. It is a one man show very well executed and cleverly written. Full of wit and passion that touches your soul only the way a true story can. Since moving from New York city I was missing the theater scene, but was so happy to be introduced to the SF scene by a great artist in a very intimate setting. Thanks Enzo! He deserves more than the standing ovation he got! I highly recommend catching the show before it ends.

The show is amazing!  It is certainly the best solo show I've seen in years.  Enzo Lombard is such a talented performer -- funny, dynamic, energetic.  He can skillfully rattle your funny bone and yank on your heart strings.  Love, Humiliation & Karaoke is an amazing story, with lots of depth and dimension.  And the absolute best thing about this play is the characters!  You will love them all!  Enzo Lombard is a fabulous actor!  Check the show out!  Five stars all the way!
