Review from Sarah W.
I do most of my library-ing at the Crescent Hill branch, but I love the (main) York Street branch for events.
Have you checked out the author's series yet? They get some pretty big names to come through town. You can request free tickets from the LFPL website and they will mail them to your house.
I felt pretty sheepish that I had an overdue book fine on my account and they still mailed me free tickets to see Greg Mortenson. I have since paid my fines, but I think I owe the library a lot more than that for quite a few fun evenings with my fellow book nerds. -

I'm a big fan of visiting libraries as a hobby. So I am writing this review purely as an observer / non-patron. The architecture is very impressive, and I'm always pleased to see an old Carnegie Library still in its original use.

The marble floors, the columns, the art. And that's just the main entrance.
It is quite possible to hide in the stacks. Love it.
Free WiFi (library card not required).Listed in: Enlightenment, Book 'Em

Review from Cynthia D.

This is my favorite place to bring my daughter. The children's room has amazing modern furniture, and areas for her to crawl around. The staff here is very helpful, and I love how the new books have their own section.

Review from Scott C.

Looking for a good book for yourself or your kid? Of course this is the place.
But did you know you could check out DVDs and music CDs, find sheet music, get help with a patent/trademark search, find information on starting your own business, research your family tree, take free computer classes, browse the web, download free audiobooks, take your kid to storytime, learn how to apply for grants, check out a book discussion kit for your book club, and much more?
What a great place.
