Dare I say this Louis Vuitton boutique outpost in Nordstrom is better than the flaship store on Michigan Ave?
Everything about this LV boutique makes you just want to BUY. The Sales Associates are the nicest, coolest people in the world. They are helpful, extremely knowledgeable, and genuine. For a boutique within a dept store, this LV has alot of inventory. They carry all the LV standards as well as the limited edition pieces They also sell shoes, which is a big plus. Lastly, the space itself is big and condusive to shopping!
Wow, our mag mile Nordstrom is really stepping it up to become a viable player in the luxe designer fashion category. First Gucci, then Manolo, Choo and Louboutin, now this. Those Nordstroms buyers are clearly actively invested in trying to pull some serious market share away from the likes of Saks/Neimans by drawing away their fashionista clientele and all of their cash.
The new Louis Vuitton boutique which resides on floor 1 of Nordies where the old Faconnable section used to be now stands as a shining beacon for all things Monogram Canvas, Suhali, Luggage, Shoes and the latest in LV limited styles. They have the newest Camo print, Mahina and almost a full section of small leather goods to boot. I did notice a strong lack of men's items, but a few briefcases and messenger bags are there for the oogling of the metro set.
The sales ladies were very sweet and helpful and even offered to order an already (jeez that was fast) out of stock item and have it shipped to me for free. I sense with this smaller boutique in such a large and highly trafficked store they may have this as a recurring issue.
I welcome the new boutique in favor of what was there previously (stuffy clothes my Mom liked) but I fear the impact this will have on my already-stretched-thin wallet when I can barely afford to put gas in my car. Such dilemmas; facilitate transportation or rock a fab bag?! Fortunately for me the choice is so easy (even if it's the wrong one) ; )
Miss crabby ass mood today stemming from some events. And what do I do to make myself feel better? Um helloooo Retail therapy.
I thought I'd stop in Nordstrom to see what I can blow my money away on. Louis Vuitton.. sure whynot. I'm not the type that likes labels on my shit to advertise to the world.. oh looky here, look at me!!! I'm RICH or pretending to be and so I'm so much better than you bums!!!! Not my style at all... but I thought their new joke bag looked cool so why the hell not, with the LV monogram all over. The sales people are fantastic.. so much more nice than the snooty ones in Portland where they're too good to talk to you until you buy something.
Now my new pretty handbag can go play with my pretty Christian Dior saddle bag in my closet. I tooled around town with Louis Vuitton today and it hindered me from going on a murder spree. Good retail therapy.
Sales people here are patient helpful, and not at all snobby or presumptuous. The guy who was helping me actually suggested a bag I had not seen, based on the comments I was making about what I look for in a purse, and it turned out to be the one I bought.
My only complaint would be that a lot of the styles, even some of the true classics (e.g., Speedy, Papillon) weren't on display. Also, it took a little while before someone asked me if I needed assistance. Although I will say that that tends to happen at any store where 95% of the customers are browsers.
