AWESOME Chicago style pizza!!  I watched the owner make our pizza and everything was fresh; from the dough to the pizza sauce.  I definitely recommend them!!

I was craving deep dish pizza like Uno's, but I didn't want to leave the house.  I searched Yelp trying to find a good deep-dish place, and found Louie's.  I called to make sure they delivered to Roseville, and when they did I ordered the deep dish Louie and a caesar salad.

The pizza was GREAT!  There are 6 pieces in a small, and it was plenty for 2 people, although we might have been able to eat a bit more.  Not a huge fan of the salad as it already had the dressing mixed into it, so it was slightly soggy.

I will order from here again.  I would be willing to try their thin crust, too.  The ingredients tasted fresh and it was just the right combination of everything, including a crust that was crisp and not soggy.  Definitely recommended if you like a good deep dish.

I am not a huge fan of this place.  I don't eat Chicago style pizza very often.  Zachary's pizza in Berkeley is really the only other place I've had it, and Zachary's is way better.

If you're looking for Chicago Style Pizza in its truest and greatest form in the greater Roseville area this is the place to visit. The ingredients are fresh, the service is good, and the price is right. All that adds up to a five start rating that is totally worth making a stop at.

Do keep in mind this isn't your common pizza, it really is Chicago-style deep dish and if you are not into that I haven't tried the New-York style that they also carry (thinner crust instead of the deep dish, more cheese, less sauce).

If there is anything you can be sure about though this is one of the better pizza places around based on the quality of the food alone. Check it out!

Best Deep Dish Pizza Ever!   You could tell that the ingridents were freshly prepared as advertised, and every bite was so tasty.... I loved the decor of the restaurant and appreciated the new hours of operation 11am to 9pm again...

The owner Costa is giving the new hours of operation one last shot, so if you enjoy REAL pizza and are willing to pay just a little more than the terrible chain Pizza shops, then like Nike say's JUST DO IT!!!

I am definately going to recommend this restaurant to all my friends and family, as I've tried other Chicago stlye establishments in the area, and yes Chicago Fire, I'm talking about you (no flavor and cheese tasted terrible!!!) this is simply one of the best Pizzas I have ever had!

Best pizza EVER!!!  If this is what Chicago Style Pizza is all about then I am moving to Chicago.   Nice owners too.  The Louie's Special deep dish is the best.  Its better to eat there than get takeout too.  Its a hidden secret of Rocklin for sure.

Possibly the best pizza this side of town.  And it is not a chain which makes it even better.  The pictures tell the truth, the pizza is huge!  I love pizza and I can eat quit a few slices but I am telling you, one slice here is more than enough for someone my size.
This is exactly what I expect good pizza to taste like if we were somewhere like Chicago, I have never been but this is pretty satisfying and delicious.  I will definelty be going back.  And I recomend looking on their web site for deals and coupons.  I am a big fan of coupons.  And beware the pizza is huge!  A large was way too big for 4 people at my house, plenty of left overs for cold pizza the next day

Went today after wanting to try it out after quite some time. Very impressed by the pizza. I give it a notch above chicago fire, but it has more of a homely feel to it. Had a deep dish special as well as the wings. Wings were good, moist and pretty flavorful. Good size on them as well. Pizza came out steaming hot. Decent ingredients and just great taste. The actual establishment is a lot smaller then i would have imagined but Louie was very friendly and I spoke to him for a bit as i paid. He told me they were looking for a place closer to downtown, so it got me excited. Cool place, I would recommend for sure.

I didn't like their pizza so much. Maybe its the "Chicago Style", but it had wayyy too much tomato sauce on it. Pizza came out fast and the price was ok, but wasn't impressed.

the first time i came here i thought they were out of business already. the windows are blacked out so you cant see inside. they have shades inside to keep it dark (for ambience?). too small inside to really enjoy eating the pizza.

i'd rather have chicago firehouse pizza for these prices, but it's better than papa johns. too much sauce and cheese gave me the bubble guts all into the night. convienient because the sunset area has crap for restaurants. the restaurants they do have are all bland and overpriced.

Best non-franchise pizzeria in Roseville/Rocklin.  If you want a better deep dish pizza try Zelda's in Downtown Sacramento.

The tomatoes were obviously straight from a can and the ingredients quality was average.  But considering the competition in the area, it's a step above.

The service was great and the ambiance was cozy.  The prices are very reasonable and I'll definitely come back for that.

I hadn't had Chicago-style pizza since the late 90s, when I was in college.  Then one recent day, as I was leaving Starbucks, I looked over to my left and saw Louie's.  It's too bad it's in such a non-descript location, especially since Chevron parked its big butt on the corner lot, all but obscuring Louie's from view.

Anyway, the pizza is exactly what I expected.  Thick, delicious, perfect crust, flavorful sauce, and made just the way I ordered it.  Unlike the stuff you get from big chain stores (some of which I actually like), Louie's pizzas just seem fresh.

I hope Louie's is around for a long time, because I will be going back regularly.

If deep dish is your style of pie, then Louie's seems to be your only real choice in town.  There are tones of flat style pizzas but this is the only deep dish I know of.  Luckily they do a great job at it.  If your looking to order by the slice, do so during lunch time to ensure a fresh slice.  Individual slices are rarely sold at dinner or mid peak times.  No delivery and I believe they close at 9

This is the best pizza I've had outside of Chicago. The pizza was absolutely delicious, service was great, and prices were reasonable. The restaurant is a bit small, and to say it is slightly out of the way is an understatement, but any hassle in getting here is worth it. I found the pizza here superior to Zachary's in Berkeley, which probably is the highest recommendation a California pizza parlor can get.

The cheese, sauce, crust, and toppings were all first rate when I went here. Even reheated in a microwave, the pizza was stunningly delicious. I just wish there were more vegetarian toppings to choose from. Hours are somewhat limited, but make it a point to get here when you can. For example, I visited on a return trip from Lake Tahoe. I hope they open a location in Sacramento for when I visit friends, and eventually the Bay Area where I live, but we'll have to wait and see.

Had this pizza at work today. It's the busiest time of the year and we are all stressing then presto, pizza perfection! Who knew pepperoni could reduce stress? God why isn't there a pizza place like this in the Bay Area?

I've never had deep dish before and it Rocks! Thin crust, layer of meats, thick layer of cheese and lushious layer of sauce on top. Everything is fresh and fantastic tasting!

What can I say this pizza had me at hello. I may have to pick up a pie before I head back to the Bay Area. I will be back for more.

Settling on mediocre pizza last night, I longed for another taste of Louie's pizza.  Hands down, the best Chicago style pizza in the region.  For that matter, probably the best pizza around.  Unfortunately, it is a bit off the beaten path.  How I wish it was in Sacto.  Rumor has it, this place isn't doing so well.  I hope that is not true.  Everyone (including me) should go to this place and support Louie's excellent pizza.  Maybe we can convince them to reopen in Sacto.

Great pizza if you like deep dish. Nice quiet place not much environment but clean. Kind of a neighborhood place that you would find in a big city. Only 1 big screen so if you want to watch the game, hope you can get a corner section to see the TV. They do need more TV's.

After eating here upon the wise advice of Yelpers who previously have gone before us, all we can do is wring our hands at the pizza gods and ask "Why?!" Why can't we have pizza as good as this in Sactown?

We were in the area and called about 20 miles out from here. We'd printed out the menu and ordered so that our food might arrive at the same time our two toddlers did. The results played out as perfectly as a synchronized swim.

First out, the garden salad. All fresh and expertly placed by the proprietor away from the edge of the table and flailing hungry toddler paws.

A close second, our "J Bread" and our drinks. The "J Bread" is made with their beautiful golden crust, cheese in the middle, and garlic. When our 2 year old was able to surface from her dive into said "J Bread," all she could muster was this accurate review: "Cheesy Yum!"

Next out, one small deep dish cheese with garlic, and one small thin crust cheese. The deep dish was crusty on the outside -- all perfectly golden and flaky -- and deliciously soft and chewy toward the middle. The sauce was comprised of pieces of tomato, herbs and spices. Perfect amount of cheese too. Oh, and the garlic. Well, we warned the kids they were going to have a stinky story time tonight!

The thin crust was equally superb and kept our progeny sufficiently busy for me to finish my Hefeweizen: nicely chilled with extra lemon slices -- well done!

The proprietors here don't miss a heartbeat; constantly on the move keeping up with the patrons, bringing out food, cleaning tables. One of the cleanest bathrooms I've ever seen in a pizza place. Or in any place, for that matter.

Extremely kid-friendly.

Next visit, we will shamelessly grovel that they open another store closer to us. That is, if we are able to keep the pizza out of our mouths long enough so they can understand us.

Hours of operation are 4-9pm daily, so no lunch slices attained at first attempt.

It's a tiny place, albeit in an awful location just barely visible from the main road. The automated gas station car wash will beckon you to drive through, but walk in the opposite direction toward Louie's. Inside you'll find 7-8 half booths along the wall. I recommend a seat opposite the soda fountain so you can watch the magic of pizza conception.

We ordered the small thin crust pizza (I know....not testing the Chicago style thick crust today), and split a Caesar salad. The latter was quite cold, in fact several pieces of romaine were indeed frozen, and globbered with dressing.

The pizza, though, was quite tasty. It's done a little differently here--cheese on the bottom and sauce on top. So for those of you who only vie for the missionary position, you may be overwhelmed that these doings defy traditional pizza conception.

I like the chunks of tomato prevalent in the sauce, in which the pepperoni got lost in appearance, but not in flavor. The cheese was deliciously stringy when reaching for slices, as the pie was piping hot. And the crust was thin, crisp, and as flaky as any typical Californian.

Next time I'll try the deep dish big lovin' and let ya know.

Our family of three dined at Louie's for lunch this afternoon after reading reviews from fellow Yelpers.  We love a good deep dish pizza, and this place definitely lived up to its 5-star Yelp rating.  Fresh, tasty, memorable pizza, served with a smile and sincere hospitality.  We ordered a small deep dish with pepperoni, sausage, and olive, and two of us also split a house salad (which fed us both easily).  We were all stuffed when we left, and the price was very reasonable.  I highly recommend Louie's; bring your family, and call ahead if you're short on time (it takes about 20 minutes for a deep dish pizza to bake cuz they make it fresh when it's ordered).

Not listed on the menu, I ordered a "personal sized," Louie's special.  Oops.  I forgot to specify.  I got the regular crust instead of the Chicago style.  One of the owners said that it was on the house and started baking a small, Chicago style Louie's special.

The regular crust pizza was pretty good.  Just the right amount of sauce, toppings and cheese.  The crust was good too.  I finished up the whole thing and had room for only 1 piece of the Chicago style pizza.

The Louie's special Chicago style pizza finally came and it was impressive.  The crushed tomato topping gave it a great flavor, reminiscent of the toppings at Zachary's.  The crust was good too.  Because of the accidental order, I was fortunate enough to devour the best of both worlds (thin crust + Chicago style).  Amy P., get your @$$ over here.

As I'd arrived at 5PM, the place was practically empty.  Counting the bar stools, unfortunately, the size of the restaurant is that of a small deli, with the look of a deli from the outside.  I'd say, it seats about 30.  Visually, a modern, Chicago themed look, the walls painted red at the bottom portion and the top portion painted orange (the skyline having a Chicago fire background).  The booths and tables are all black.  After 6pm, the place was packed, the owners and one helper were eagerly scrambling to serve the seated people and the to-go orders were non-stop.

For the pizza alone, this restaurant has the potential to take on Chicago Fire. I'm guessing that someday, Louie's will have no choice but to grow into a larger capacity space.

Buried in the newly stuccoed strip malls of Roseville and Rocklin, hidden beneath the Starbucks and Quizzno's on every corner, once in a while you  eventually find a diamond in the rough. Louie's Chicago Style Pizza is one of those gems that you hope the local common denominator will appreciate and support (i.e. keep in business). It is locally owned and operated by two brothers (there is a super sappy story on the website on why they opened shop...a combination of honouring their father who passed away, and their love for Chicago style pizza...it brings a tear to my eye every time).

The pizza at Louie's is like nothing else you will find out here. After eating at such places as Zachary's in the bay area and Chicago Fire Pizza out in Folsom, I can say with confidence that Louie's Chicago Style Pizza is the real deal when it comes to Chicago deep dish pizza. (Sorry, I haven't actually been to Chicago to verify this...yet)

I have yet to figure out the proper procedure for the construction of a Chicago deep dish pie, but it usually goes something like: crust-cheese-"toppings"-sauce.

The sauce! Oh my. Tangy and plentiful (I love a lot of sauce) Perfect.

I ordered my standard three topping combo (the trifecta: olives, mushroom, garlic) and all the ingredients were fresh and properly proportional.

The crust was great. Two inches deep on the side, buttery and flaky.  My wife, who hates crust, even liked it!

I was so hungry that I inhaled three slices, but if I would have slowed down, one or two would have done the job.

The establishment is rather small, and is run more like a standard pizza to go place, but they do have tables and beer on tap.

They serve pizza by the slice at lunchtime, and have all sorts of deals going on.

If you aren't into deep dish pizza, they serve a thin crust pie as well.

When I went to pick up my pizza, I was the only patron in the place, but I was ordering my food to go and it was a little before official dinner time, so that could explain the lack of bodies. If these guys set up shop in down town Sacramento there would be a constant line out the door 24/7 for sure.

All in all, this place is great. I wish the owners of Louie's success.

Wow, Leon was not lying about how good the pizza is here!

We ordered the medium veggie delight (with fresh tomatoes added). It was soooooo good. I have never had Chicago style pizza before, and I was so impressed.

First of all, each slice is huge. The crust is incredible, then it is layered with the veggies, cheese and a delicious pizza sauce. It is really thick, and we actually ate it with a fork and knife as if we were eating a giant slice of pie.

Another awesome thing about Louie's is the staff. They were so nice, and really eager to make sure we had a great experience. They bring the pizza out to you- refill your soda (or beer) and had a great attitude. You can tell they are really proud of their pizza.

They also offer flat crust pizza, but I say go for the deep dish.

One other thing I loved about Louie's- no TV blaring in the background. Just pleasant jazz music.

I think this is a must visit for your pizza craving!!!

Chicago style, I repeat, Chicago style.  Warning: this is not Chili's, TGIF, or Applebee's.  If these concepts make you uncomfortable, do not continue reading.  If you were raised on chain pizza go to Pizza Hut or Round Table and leave Louie's alone.  Louie's is a complete anomaly: A shockingly authentic Chicago style pizza place in Rocklin, CA!  You might be asking yourself: There's something authentic in Rocklin?!  Yes, and this restaurant will be here for a long time if people take a second to look behind the HUGE Chevron station they built on Louie's front porch last year.  Believe it or not, this place is cat corner from United Foods on Sunset & West Oaks.  These guys are  passionate and skilled pizza craftsman; and it shows in their work.  It's deep dish style so call it in about 30 min in advance for take-out.  Also; surprisingly fun place to drink beer and watch basketball (...and wash off the smell of chain restaurants).

This is really good pizza. Don't be fooled by the pricing on the deep dish. Each slice could be a meal in itself. The pizzeria itself doesn't have much ambience, but the staff are very nice, and they have a nice selection of beer available. Delivery is in a 4 mile radius.

I have friends from Chicago who now live in EDH. Hopefully I can persuade them to come out and give it a review.
