My husband is a fan of this shop and Tuan. Tuan asks what kind of cut you want and then quietly hums as he works. We join on the online waitlist, but so far there hasn't been a wait anyways probably since we go in off hours. Just remember it's cash only!

Had a truly terrible experience at what I thought would be a safe choice for a trans person in the Castro. My haircut took 10 minutes, a simple shaved side (with a 0 blade) and the barber acted incredibly put out by this request. S Charles seemed to be distasteful of both my name and gender presentation, and was rude the entire time I was in the shop. The result was exactly what I wanted; the delivery, however, was lackluster to put it very lightly. Incredibly disappointed at the pretty blatant transphobia from someplace in the Castro.

My go-to place. Prices are reasonable, place is nice and clean (even historic) and Bon and Steve are great. Check it out!

I explained to him categorically that I did not want short hair and reminded him that last time he cut my hair, they were too short therefore please avoid cutting my hair too short. Instead Charles put a clipper right over my forehead and shaved my hair to three fourths of an inch. I think he was in a hurry . I am very very disappointed- . Not going there ever again

Got a haircut here for the first time today and was genuinely impressed with the entire experience. The haircut S gave me was exactly what I had requested and he was very communicative throughout the entire haircut. Additionally, the vibe of the interior is very old school and welcoming. I recommend this barbershop and will no doubt be returning here in the future.

S Charles gave me a great haircut. He had to do a lot of cleaning up and he exceeded expectation. Thanks again!

got a great cut from Turo today! I was a first time client of Louies, and after a quick wait, Turo took me. He listened to everything I liked/disliked about my hair and worked his magic.

pros: great price compared to other hipster barber shops, great cut and plenty of barbers to choose from.
cons: no wash/rinse, sign-in only (no appointments)

I always come out looking SO much better. And they are all super friendly and don't rush. Best haircuts in San Francisco.

I've been coming here for years and think the staff are great. They used to be very busy before Covid but since reopening they have an online wait-list which is more efficient.

Tuan always cut my hair. He is an amazing barber. Very detail oriented and will not let you go until he is sure you are satisfied with your hair.
