I feel like this place will only get better with time. The current owners are new and the wine was great. I feel like the tasting room was a little empty and could be put to better use.
As for the wine, we really liked the whites Loudoun had to offer. We came home with a 2008 Viognier and a 2008 Pinot Grigio. I hope the new owners take advantage of the property they have acquired because the wines already speak for themselves. -

There is no getting around it--their wines are just not good. They all had a bitter, vinegar taste and I poured most (*all*) out after 1 to 2 sips.
The tasting room is nice and bright though, and the pourer that served us was really nice and personable. They also had a nice musician when I visited. The tasting fee is $5.
The server did mention that the vines were neglected (you see dead vines between overgrown grass as you drive to tasting room!), and that they now have a new owner who is restoring the soil. Maybe I'll give them another shot in a number years. -

Unfortunately, the wines here were not much to write home about. They currently source grapes from other vineyards since the current owners inherited this place in serious disrepair. You can tell driving up, just by looking at the unhealthy vines. A few people in my group liked the Route 9 Red, which is a fruit forward red blend that's great for summertime sippin.'
Our server later explained that the owner purchased it from a previous owner who had gotten too elderly to tend to the vines. So I do have hope for this place!
The tasting room itself also kind of run down. Not too thrilled with our first visit, but hoping they can get it together and get this place up to par with others in the area. Read more at http://www.winecruiser..., and find out about even more wineries in Virginia! -

I bought a coupon for wine tasting and cupcakes, so I figured that the wine would be subpar and the coupon was a way to get people in the door. To the surprise of my boyfriend and I, the wine was really, really good. The building and the area needs development, but we know that the owners are new and focusing on the wine. I can only expect great things from this vineyards, and I will buy their wine in the future. The cupcakes from Kickin' were tasty, too! Good luck LVV!

Horrendous.
All their wines tasted like fruit punch. Not that I'm against fruit punch-- unless it comes out of a wine bottle that costs $15-30/bottle. The pourer didn't know what she was doing. She even recommended a red that tasted like orange juice, saying that it's good for mulling. I thought she was joking and I laughed, only to get a blank stare from her. It was my first time that a wine pourer proudly poured a wine that's good for mulling. She said the winemaker is like a mad scientist and she likes to experiment on blends, but I think she needs a little more practice.
The place was crowded with a lot of drunk people. They serve some food as well. But if you think you know a little bit about wine, don't waste time visiting this place.
There is no tasting fee. I guess everything has a redeeming factor.Listed in: NOVA Wineries

Let's start with the ownership, as that's where the experience starts. The owners are a young couple that studied at UC Davis. Bree, the winemaker knows her wine. I believe the wines they have now are her first, as they've recently taken over the winery. The service is great and they make it a fun time. It's not the luxurious winery that you might find in the other parts of Loudoun, but they do what others don't. Not only do they serve you decent wine, they make it an experience. From live music, to hot air balloon rides. There's a great patio/deck that's open to the public. (Yes, I'm taking a shot at another winery that only allows "members" on their patio.) It's a "down home," no frills, fun, experience. Once we met Bree and Cam, we knew we'd found a great place.
Now on to the wine. I'm not yet a lover of Virginia reds, so I will not comment here. I will say that if you're expecting to compare Virginia reds to those you find in Napa, Sonoma, South Africa, etc... you'll be disappointed. If you are a casual drinker and are learning your red wines...you might enjoy. For me, I think that their Vinifera if great! My wife loves the Classic White. Both are GREAT patio whites that you and friends will enjoy (multiple bottles).
If you want an easy, relaxed, fun, unpretentious afternoon in a beautiful environment, you MUST visit Loudoun Valley.
I've got to add, it's a great place to bring your family. It's very family friendly! I'm not a big animal lover...BUT, they welcome your doggie...
Enjoy! -

Loudoun Valley doesn't have a fancy, wedding-locale building. Nor does it have incredible views. But it has some of the best-tasting wines I've ever had.
Their wines are not tainted with a tanins flavor, but taste more like alcoholic juice with a unique flavor. I went here on a tour of 3 vineyards with no intention of buying wines, but I couldn't hold back and bought some here.
Loudoun was recently bought by a couple who moved here from Napa Valley. They gave us a tasting of more than 10 of their wines and honestly, there wasn't one I didn't like. Their Dynasty wines are amazing. They are about $30 a bottle and at the time it seemed steep for me, but I'm kicking myself for not buying them. -

Signs read "Open Late" "Live Music". Twist my arm, go ahead.
Stopped in after an afternoon of local events. Seemed like they'd had a fairly busy day. Nice guitarist playing on the back deck (but not too much room for more than 20 people). We didn't taste, but instead took the pourer's recommendation for a bottle of Viongier. It was just ok. A little too sweet, too fruity tasting. Better prices than some of the other VA wineries.
This place doesn't have the views or the space that some of the other local places offer, but overall, the "Open Late" sign got us in the door. For the last stop of the day, it sufficed, but I wouldn't make it a regular stop on our travels. -

Totally packed place and I soon figured out why...free tastings! A very small tasting area and tons of very drunk people just sort of sitting around. Unfortunately, the wines were pretty poor. They pickled the tongue and none were worth the ~$25 pricetags. The chili they were offering sounded good though.

I don't turn my nose up at wine - I'm a fan of Trader Joe's $4-$7 bottle's of wine - so by no means am I a connoisseur, either. That said, went to LVV on Mother's day and sampled a few wines. All the wines were too sweet, but my wife likes them that way and it was a nice day so we purchased a bottle of the white to drink with our picnic lunch, as well as a bottle of their table red to take home. I'll say that I did sample it there and for some reason unknown to me, I purchased it anyway.
Fast forward to this past weekend where I had saved the bottle of table red and served it with dinner. It was so bad, I poured it down the drain. I NEVER waste alcohol, but this stuff was undrinkable. Oh, I should mention that we had been drinking at an all day event and weren't - shall we say - at the height of our senses. You'd think we would have been able to stomach a $15 bottle of wine, however sub-par it may be. No - it was terrible and down the drain it went. -

The white wines here are better than the red wines. The Viognier was my pick, but the Chardonnay and Reisling were good as well. The dessert wines were also quite good. I liked the Legacy, but all of the others were quite nice as well.

New owners--the winemaker Bree Ann is 28 (I think) and makes some very good wine. Head outside after tasting as they usually have (loud) music here. There was a Nirvana cover band when I visited. (Again, the owners are young). Wine wasn't as bad as previous poster said--at least during my visit. The staff is very friendly and makes sure you're taken care of.
