My review for this salon is based on the Gel Manicure only...

I ventured to Lotus Nail Spa one Saturday evening with hopes of prettying up something on me before a holiday dinner out with my hubby. Of course I yelp*ed this place before I went!!! I called ahead of time to make sure that they offered gel manicures and I was able to be seen within an hour (actually less) of when I placed my call.

The lady at the front desk was very pleasant. I told her I called about the gel manicure and she proceeded to hand me these CD disk deals with colors to choose from. I forgot the number, but I chose a pale sparkly pink. After that I was seated with Linh.

Linh is really nice and I like how she does her eye makeup. They're colors I would never choose for myself, but they're very pretty on her. Anyway... The whole manicure was your basic manicure. She did a great job... But... She did nip a tiny chunk of index finger skin off just enough for me to bleed. :-(. In all my years of getting mani/pedi's I've never bled. But!!! Linh was completely cool about it!!! She put this powdery stuff on it and I was good to go. But really, I dont blame Linh. Part of it was my overly dry, overly washed/surgical scrub, mommy dishwasher hands... And even with the blood lose, Linh made my hands pretty and, well... Well manicured!

I returned recently, and requested Linh again for another gel manicure. I chose #07, another sparkly shade of pink, but a darker hue. I called in my appointment, and again, I was able to be seen within the hour of my call.

Lotus Nail Spa is a pretty busy place, but there are plenty of gals there to help.

Lotus offers a wide variety of services (I read up on their brochure) and there are various combos to choose from (which include paraffin wax, salt scrubs, and hot towel treatments.) Waxing and facials are offered here, as well.

    01.16.2012:

I realized I didn't write enough about the gel manicure... Doh!!!

It's supposed to last a good 2 weeks, at least. Just don't pick and peel away your polish at the first sign of lifting. Trust.

The polish is supposed to be soaked off with acetone, but I have yet to get to that point. Read above.

There's no waiting for your nails to dry since you bake under a light, but the tendency to walk out of the salon with those manicure jazz hands may still happen...

I wash my hands A LOT and my nails grow fast, so gel manicures are *definitely* the way to go for me!

Does the perfect nail salon even exist? I'm in dire need of a regular spot because I'm tired of searching and playing trial and error. This is my very first review! But I should've started way before considering all the salons I've experienced by now. Here's my breakdown of pros and cons:

    PROS:
    - My manicurist, Ivy, did a good job on my nails. I don't normally get acrylics done but I have a wedding to go to this weekend and one of my nails broke recently. Ivy cared about her work and she wasn't sloppy like others I've experienced. She listened to exactly how I wanted my nails without complaints or suggesting what's better. I like my nails a specific way and shape and she listened :)
    - I paid the usual price for a full set. $23. Anywhere that offers any less usually does a sloppy job.
    - I made an appointment for 6:15 PM on a Thursday after reading reviews about how busy they get during the day. I was about ten minutes late cause I couldn't find the place and they still accommodated me even though they close at 7 o'clock. Yay!
    - Everyone was so kind to me considering the fact that I kept them open for another hour! :/

    CONS:
    Nothing just yet :)

QUICK TIP: I suggest coming later in the night to get services done. Maybe my experience only turned out well because of my timing and also because my manicurist is new.

Compared to other nail salons, everything at this spot looks and feels higher end, from the chairs to matching uniforms to the little gift lotion they give you as you leave.  The staff is great and the service is amazing. It gets better.....the price is comparable.

We came in around 1 on a Monday and we only waited 10 minutes. If I lived closer, I'd come here more. Next time I'm in Cerritos visiting the best friend, I'm making a stop!

First time finding a nail salon that I always come back to. I don't even want to think about going to a different nail salon. Their prices are very cheap! The reason why I knocked off a star is because sometimes they're shiesty on the amount of gel they use so when they're done you can see through the polish. Just let them know to put the gel on thicker. All in all I'm so glad my friend introduced me to this place. All other salons I went to once and never went back again.

I have been going to Lotus for approximately a year now and am so happy I came across this hidden gem in Cerritos =) I used to go to The Nail Spa across the street but nothing compares to Lotus and the amazing job that Jackie does every single time. Their tools are sterilized and the atmosphere is very calm and enjoyable! The prices are very reasonable and the work quality is always tops!!

2 stars for a good quality massage chair and straight cut on my toe nails...other than that..awful pedicure! After reading good reviews and wanting to splurge a little on my regular pedicure...I picked this place...

But......Once I said I didn't want the extra $5 massage..I got a rushed and mediocre  foot and leg massage from rose ...for a whopping $18!!!!! There was only one other person on a chair...and 3 or 4 employees waiting for customers on a very slow Monday afternoon!  Not what I would expect across the street from a busy mall.  And on a slow day!

First and last time I waste my money at this salon!

I guess making an appointment would have been a good idea, but I hear you will still have to wait a long time. =/

    Remember our first time?
Remember when I fell in love with your amazing and close to my house salon?
Remember when I fell asleep because of the best foot massage of my life?
Remember when I brought my entire bridal party here and we took over the place and brought in catering from Chick-fil-A?
Remember when I didn't mind spending $30 for the best pedicure in town?

I remember when you didn't hire 19 year olds fresh out of beauty school who make me bleed.
I remember when you didn't talk s*** about mah feet right in front of my face, IN ENGLISH (I speak English btw).
I remember when your massage chairs actually massaged.
I remember when your massage chairs actually reclined so that my knees weren't on my chin the entire treatment.
I remember when the heating elements in the chairs weren't broken so that they are always on, burning me and poking my lower back through the worn pleather.

I'll be taking a hiatus from you Lotus and trying out some bookmarks ala Spring Nails, Tami's, Kreme de la Kreme and Savvy Chic Nail Cottage.  If after that I return and you still can't make me remember the good ol' days, then forget you.

Came here for a shellac manicure a few days ago. I didn't catch my lady's name but she did a great job, and they have a ton of color choices. However, the next day my nail chipped :( Correct me if I'm wrong but thats not supposed to happen? Anyways, the prices seem pretty standard, and maybe the chip was my fault. I'd come back if I were in the area and needed something done.

I can't believe I've lived in Cerritos for so long and have neither heard of nor noticed Lotus Nail spa! I used to drive down to Irvine to get my nails done because I couldn't find a satisfactory nail salon around here. My wallet and I thank you, Yelp, for leading us to Lotus.

Prices aren't bad ($10 manicure, $18 spa pedicure), but what I love about Lotus is that they actually take the time to make sure your nails are even, the nail polish is evenly applied, and your nails look GOOD by the time you walk out the door.

If you live around the area and have yet to find that perfect nail salon, give Lotus a try! (Also give the new OPI colors a try. I'm currently wearing French Quarter For Your Thoughts and I kinda love it...)

This is my go-to nail spot! I love it here. They're clean & the girls that I go to are friendly. They do the gel nail polish and that's all I've been getting. It lasts about 3-4 weeks for me. They even help you match your pedi color to your mani. There's a few girls there that even do a really good job massaging.

The lotus package is the best deal (for me). Mani/Pedi, scrubs, callous remover, parafin, massage, hot towel, hot lotion for $44. $10 more for gel ;) Look so pretty! lol.

They do their best to get everyone in on time even on busy ass fridays. (I suggest not going on a friday, but if you do, call & make an appt.) I haven't tried any of their other services like waxing or facials. However, I do see people going into the back rooms regularly.

For Christmas they even gave out gifts! Yay!

Please don't go in there being rude, especially when it's busy, asking how much longer etc etc. People go there to relax and pamper themselves so stop ruining the experience.

I never go anywhere else anymore & I've gotten a few friends to switch over to this place. So far, no complaints! All compliments! Hooray!

I have been here four times, each time for something different.

The first time i came here i got gel polish and it chipped the next day! Gel polish is SUPPOSED to last for two weeks.

My second visit was for a full set, I got the glitter powder. I liked it because it's my favorite color. But in my past experience other places shape the nail so the surface kind of curves, like a real nail... But here they don't.

My third experience I came in for a lotus pedicure, I liked it, but the nail polish chipped an hour after I left.

I have yet to be completely satisfied here. I keep coming back because I have the rewards card and it's closer to my boyfriends house than my main place.

I am extremely unhappy with this place, and I will not be returning. I went in for acrylics a week ago and they already fell off! They usually last me more than two weeks!! Also the experience was horrible. When she was cutting the length, my left pointer finger was way too long compared to the other fingers so I kept asking her to cut it and she obliged. But after everything was finished she had made my RIGHT pointer finger noticeably shorter than that the others. When I told her, she blamed me for telling her to constantly it the nail. First of all that was my left finger not the right. And second of all I wad just asking her to make the rest of them shorter to accommodate her mistake. I wasn't having a fit or anything. When she started yelling at me I yelled back and if she was embarrassed I really don't care! You never yell at a customer.

Love this place. First time I went there was a week ago.

    Pros:
    -super clean
-the staff doesn't speak in their native language while doing your mani/pedi so you don't feel like they are talking about you
-got the upgraded gel nail polish. wow that thing does last a LONG time and esp for the winter months you can rub lotion etc and it will not chip
-very hygenic (and i've been to a ton of nail salons for mani/pedi in LA, Huntington Beach, Long Beach and Cerritos.

    Cons:
-nothing. had a great time and I will be back time and time again.

I made an appointment at the Lotus Nail Spa based on the great Yelp reviews.  I shouldn't have bothered to make an appointment.  After hanging around the house for 1-1/2 hours for my appointment time to arrive, when I arrived at Lotus Nail Spa, I had to wait an additional 30 minutes for my pedicure....I wish the person who took my appointment would have told me to just come on in....

As far as the pedicure experience itself, the gal who gave me the pedicure was on auto pilot.  The entire experience was monotonous and annoying....not much relaxation.  THEN my PET PEEVE...she asks me if I want her to remove a callous on my foot....for $5....nothing ruins a spa experience like incessant suggestive selling.

The facility itself is run down....the massage chairs uncomfortable.  I really don't understand all the rave reviews...

I've been coming here for many years since they opened. It was a clean salon with professional and kind technicians that took the time to learn your name and did great work. Salon carried all OPI or China Glaze polishes.
Recently, in the past year their service and attention to detail has really declined. The technicians are not as friendly and function more like robots. Clients with appointments are still asked to wait.   I don't believe the cleanliness of entire salon in accordance with state requirements, towels are stained with nail polish and holes worn through.
It's unfortunate to see a salon I've enjoyed for many years become so worn down and and unwelcoming.  I'm going to start looking for a new place.

After having a crappy experience at Red Persimmon Nails in Mira Loma (http://www.yelp.com/bi...) we came back home hoping to catch a nail salon that was still open.

It was 5:40 and this place closes at 6:00 on Sundays. I called to see if they would take my friend and I for two pedicures and the lady said that if we could get there soon, then they would still take us. We got there at 5:50 and they took us both for their Lotus Pedicure packages!

Needless to say, their services were amazing and ended up being the perfect finish to our Girly pampering day. Even though the ladies were staying after hours, they didn't rush us at all, and we got the whole nine yards of sea salt and sugar scrubs, massages and my pedicure was flawless!

I would definitely recommend this place!

I was hesitant to try this place due to the up and down reviews...

I had a decent experience here. The wait is an issue and they can't do a fill and pedicure at the same time due to the spacing between the spa chairs.

As far as the work performed, they did a damn good job on my nails. My pedicure was done by Terry and she went to town on my feet, scrubbing and making my cuticles clean and filing my nails to the perfect shape. The hubby said they looked really good and for him to notice the great polish job is HUGE! Her massage was so relaxing and if not for the continuous "bing-bong" of the door opening and closing, I might have actually closed my eyes and enjoyed it more.

After my pedi they put me under the dryer to let my toes dry and then I waited...and waited...and waited for someone to do my fill. Finally Tammy came to the rescue and sat me at her station. She did a really good job on nails. She took her time and it shows.

They use the disposable files and I like that since I feel like it's cleaner.

I'll be back when I am not on a time constraint as the wait was an issue.

This was my first manicure ever, so I'm not exactly sure if you'd want to take my review seriously if you're someone who goes once every two weeks to touch up acrylics or something. Here's why I give this place 4 stars:

    Pros:
    - A friend and I walked in about 1 P.M. on a Tuesday afternoon for manicures, and we didn't have to wait. They do take appointments, though.
    - They had a pretty big selection of colors, and it took me 5 minutes to pick one.
    - The staff don't chat your ear off (which I hear other places do), but they aren't stoic or unapproachable, either.
    - The place is really clean, and they open a fresh, sealed bag of manicure equipment for each customer (yay for sanitation!)
    - Pricing is reasonable, from what I hear - $10/regular manicure to start.
    - Jackie (the one who did my nails) was really nice and clearly explained the differences between manicures.

    Cons:
    - They don't tell you how long you have to sit your nails under that UV-like light, and since it was my first time, I was slightly confused towards the end.
    - we paid during the middle of your manicure, which I thought was odd.
    - I'm not sure I'd say that they're pushy...but I think my friend felt a little pressured to get the massage manicure like me because they kept asking her if she wanted it or not when she clearly said she just wanted the regular manicure.

Overall, it wasn't a bad first experience. Would I go back? Yeah, I think so.

I've been to a lot of nail spas over the years but this is always my go-to place whenever I come home to California.  After living on both coasts, it's no competition that the West coast definitely has better salons, technicians, and prices.  This salon has great service - they greet you right away, ask you what services are needed and tend to your every need.    The prices are very reasonable and always a few dollars cheaper than most places that don't offer the same quality service.

I usually go to Linh, but whenever you come here, any technician does a good job based off my own personal experience.  The Lotus Pedicure is one of the services I get which includes: spa pedicure, sea salt scrub, callus removal, 10 minute massage, and hot towels.  They don't gip you out of the massage either - if anything, it's longer than 10 minutes.  I'm totally a fan of this place and just wish I find a place like this wherever I move to.

    Perks:
    1) Big selection of polishes - especially OPI, China Glaze, Essie, and crackle
    2) Shellac/gel polish
    3) Minimal talking between technicians
    4) Fairly fluent in English so they can understand exactly what it is that you want done
    5) Friendly staff

I guess this place is hit-or-miss for a lot of people. Nevertheless, I enjoyed my time there. It was packed when I went...it's a very small shop. I went about an hour and half before closing and there were no seats and people were waiting outside. People just kept coming in and the manicurist I was finally assigned to seemed really overwhelmed. She told me that the day before she was finally done at 9pm. I said, "Well, you guys are really popular, it seems!' I was sympathetic to her so I gave her a good tip at the end...unless that was a very well calculated business ploy...? ;-)

I got a pedicure with a flower design on it and so far...about 4 weeks later, it still looks really nice. Even my fiance thought so! I will be going back, you just have to be patient coming here and don't be in a hurry. No one needs a bitchy costumer who is pushy and in a hurry.

I would really give this place 3.5 stars.

This has been my go-to nail salon ever since it opened. At first, they were friendly and they were gentle with my mani/pedis. But I've noticed with their growing popularity, the quality of their work is gradually declining. They still do a better job than the dozens of nail salons I've tried. But it just gets so busy now and the ladies seem rushed.

One recent reviewer said that the girl working on her pedicure was really rough on her feet. I had that recent experience with my pedicure this past Sunday. I won't say who she is, because I think she's nice and she was highly recommended when she was new. Her "rough" hand is just the way she works now. But I promise she was never like that before! I was cringing when she was trimming my cuticles. I didn't bleed, but I felt a small prick of pain a few times.

My manicures always go smoothly and they do a decent gel manicure. It's much better than paying $50 at a Japanese gel nail salon (even though they are better quality).

Maybe it's time for me to try a new nail salon that isn't too busy to give me a relaxed and gentle pedicure.

I was visiting pops in Cerritos and needed a pedicure. Found this place through Yelp and decided to call and make an appt since this place received a lot of good ratings and I figured it would be busy. I called and they told me to come in at 2. Got there at 2 and waited for 25 minutes...so what was the point of making an appt? But I have to say, they were BUSY. People came in nonstop and I was there for about 1 hour and 45 min.

I got a spa pedicure with callus removal, total was $23. Linh did my pedi and she did a good job, I would definitely come back again...on a weekday though.

I was watching the ladies next to me and they seem to do a good job on everyone. The best part is, the ladies don't chit chat in Vietnamese!! I just think it's rude regardless on what they are talking about.

They have one of the better variety of nail polishes compared to other places...but I brought my own so I'm not sure how old those colors are.

You have to try this place.

I wrote my first review on Lotus Nails about a year ago. I gave it 5 stars then and I'm again giving the establishment a 5-star rating. I LOVE this place. I LOVE the ladies that work here.
For the past 10 months or so,  I have been getting the gel nail polish "treatment" from them. They now have a great variety of colors and it's great for people who have to constantly wash their hands because it doesn't chip and it stays on longer. But not all gel nail treatments are the same. Last week, I have HAD to go to another place to get my nails done and it didn't come out as nice as how they do it at Lotus.
My advise is to come here during the week if you can because it does get crazy busy here on weekends. You can make an appointment but again, on the weekends, they may not be able to see you right on the time you've set it. They're just really busy because everybody comes here.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place. They have my undying support.

To sum it up, Lotus has the best price, plenty of parking, accepts credit cards, skilled, friendly staff, super clean nail salon.

I've been here two times and I've been satisfied with both experiences.

For both visits, I got the Lotus Pedicure which is $30. It includes spa pedicure, sea salt scrub, callus removal, 10 minute massage, and hot towels. I had French tips for my 1st visit and OPI nail polish for my 2nd.

They do a really good job, and like what everyone else said, they do not speak in another language in front of you.

The massage chairs can use an upgrade though but everything else is fine with me.

First time going to this nail place! I wanted to try 3D nails for the first time but they stopped doing that now because it takes too long haha~ bummer!

I got gel instead and I love it! Mindy did my manicure and she was great!

For regular pedicure and manicure combo was $27, french tip for pedicure was $3 more and for gel was $13 more so my total was $43

I really like the gel! =D

This is one of my favorite nail salons! I used to drive 40 minutes just to get a gel manicure at lotus. There prices are so much cheaper than anywhere else, and they do a very precise job! I've gone to most of the lady's at the salon, and Ann and Jackie are my favorite. Ann is the best, but sometimes it's difficult to get an appointment with her. Make sure to call in advance! They are all very friendly and most of them speak very good English. They have a pretty large selection of gel. If you come here on the weekend, expect a wait, even with an appointment, but it's worth it! I haven't gotten a pedicure here, so I can't say anything about their pedi services. But gel manicures are the way to go! The reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because I only like getting my nails done by Ann and Jackie.

Came here this week, to get my nails done, and Christy did a great job on my nails! I got acrylics and they look amazing! I also grabbed their rewards card, which was only $5 extra! I think I'm going to be going back
here after checking out several other nail places around the area.

I've already gotten 75 points, so 2 more visits here, and I can get a free
    nail polish! YAY!

$28 for full set, with gel overcoat! Great deal! Must come back here soon for my fill! :)

I came here with my sister to pamper her before prom. We made an appointment and didn't have to wait too long since they already had a full house. Everyone was very nice except the girl checking people in, honestly it seemed like she hated her life, but whatever. The girl who did my nails was very nice and was making conversation with me. The girl who did my pedicure was very nice also. I very much enjoyed the massage and sugar scrub! My sister is not the girly type at all, but she said she enjoyed it for the most part. LoL.
The only thing I didn't like was that they start you off in the chair until a pedi spot opens up and then have you move there. I personally like to get there and relax without having to get up and move. Other than that, everything was great. I will definitely be back!

I like that the ladies that work at this place do not talk amongst each other while working on you.  I find it rude when others do, cuz I don't know what on earth they're talking about.

The way I rate nail salons is how long their works last, and I only get the french/white tip on the toes.  Honestly, the paint job lasted me a little over three weeks without any chipping at all (and I did two hikes during those three weeks too!).

A little tip on their massage chairs (which I found to be really comfortable cuz it had different settings to choose from, depending on which chair you sit in), one of their middle ones (I think the third) is broken, or at least the little rollers don't go up at all.  So if you want a full back massage, sit in the first or the last.

    Its been 3 weeks since I've gotten some pretty hawt "real housewives of LA" claws (meow~) and they still look pretty fabulous! { see photo }

K, in all seriousness and ghetto lingo jokes aside, my nails turned out classy looking and it HAS been 3 weeks and they still look nice! :D

    Salon
+ The salon was clean and neat, but such a small space! They seem to know how to make use of their store because there's a good amount of manicure stations and about 6 pedicure recliners.
+ Several TVs set up for your viewing pleasure
+ An excellent selection of OPI brand nail polish

    Gel Nails Manicure { see photo }
It was by chance that Annie (I highly recommend) did my nails. You can tell she is a professional and very skillful. She's quick and it didn't compromise the quality or look of my nails. Annie applied the gel layers so thinly that it hasn't peeled or crack.
If you want to get french manicure nails, I advise to have the "white polish on the tip" start shorter. This way, it'll last longer without having the "natural whites" of your nail show as they grow. As my nails grew, I've just been applying clear nail polish near the bed of my nail. It looks just as new!

    Spa Pedicure
I enjoyed my spa pedicure. It started as a typical pedicure, but the exfoliation scrub, hot towel and massage on my calves won me over. ^_^

    Curious about Gel Nails?
Gel nails use your natural nails as a base (no fake material is added).
For gel nails, it's a semi-long process. The liquid gel is applied to the nails in several thin layers. Each individual layer must be UV-cured under a UV lamp for 2 minutes before the next layer can be applied. (I felt like I was sun tanning my hand... bc sometimes the UV light "burned" a little -_- ) So yes, a semi-lengthy and required some patience, but Annie was so efficient and quick!
+ I like how gel nails are sturdy, strong and shiny
+ They seriously last a long time - I've had mine on for 3 weeks!
       - If you choose a color for gel nails, it'll be more noticeable when nails grow out. Therefore you'll need to upkeep them by getting them filled at the salon. (unless you get a clear or french manicure, which isn't as noticeable)
      - I read somewhere you can't remove the gel nails on your own. a tech professional is needed to "file it off." if you do decide you don't want them anymore. I guess you'll just have to wait for them to grow out (?)

I hardly pamper my nails at the nail salon, only on special occasions.
This case, my BFF (just married) Eleen C., treated her bridesmaids for a round of manis and pedis. Thank you!!!
I am definitely a fan of Lotus Nail Spa. Annie is highly recommended!

I'm a biter.  I'm a picker.  I need to STOP ruining my nails!

Looking for a place that did gel nails with good reviews.  Happened to be studying in the area, and so I plopped on over to Lotus to try out gel nails for the first time.

Gel nails are supposed to be really long lasting (2-3 weeks) and great for nail biters/pickers.  I don't really want the fake nails (acrylics, i guess), but just something hard on my nails to protect them from my horrible habit of biting.

I guess for $20, I got the cheap version of gel nails because it's not the kind where the tech puts a goop of nail gel onto your nail and then spreads it out.  They put layers and layers and layers of what looked like regular nail polish, and put me in the UV light thing in between each layer.  The real gel nails cost around $40, but since I'm cheap, I was hoping that the cheaper way would still work.

Everything came out great and I even got a little hand/arm massage at the very end.

After reading some reviews, I notice that more nail salons are requiring or at least telling their technicians to only speak english while working on a client.  Maybe this salon enforced it too, but it was sooooo quiet in the salon.  My personal taste, I like a social atmosphere, even if I have no clue what other people are saying.  The nail techs just looked...trapped.  I don't know what other word to use.  Geez people....I know you think it's rude to speak another language in front of another person who doesn't know it, but who cares!?  If Vietnamese is their first language, let them speak it!  You're just there for your nails, right?  Besides, I see a lot of women customers who are so demanding about wait times.  A woman today with the RUDEST attitude was like, "I really don't have the time to wait, you can't see me in less than 15 min? Well, I just might have to go to another salon".  She waited for 2 minutes tapping her foot, looking at all the nail techs, when there was a huge line of customers already.  She scoffed, rolled her eyes, and acted like a pure drama queen.  GO...by all means GO to the other salon.  The nail techs sweat for 30-60 min waiting on your fingers and toes, scrubbing away at some pretty raunchy stuff.  Just be nice, k??

My only concern is that although the air conditioning was at full blast, it was 90 outside, and tons of people getting their nails done inside, and so it still felt a little hot getting my nails done.  Maybe because this was my first time getting a manicure done, the fumes from the polish was really intoxicating and kinda left me with a little headache.

Busy place, and it always seemed to have a line.  Go here early for less traffic and cooler temps.

I used to love this place, the manager and her sister are still great... but a recent experience left me teary eyed, bleeding, and upset.

I came in for a regular spa pedicure, and the nail technician kept on pushing me to get a manicure, so I felt bad and agreed to get one.  Another nail technician came aboard to do my nails and kept insisting that I should get gel nails when I already told her no.  She then gave up and spoke in Vietnamese telling the woman who was doing my pedicure, "why didn't you trick her into getting a more expensive procedure?" (not direct translation).  she turns to me and smiles.

Then they start whispering because apparently pedicure woman cut my toe because she cut too much skin off and they were both freaking out.  Pedi woman kept on asking "what should i do, what should i do?"  So she tried to stop the bleeding with a towel and then used nail glue (used for full sets) to glue the cut.  Manicure lady starts making comments, why is her blood so dark? She must have diabetes..

I was so angry, I wanted to put these women on blast by saying thank you in Vietnamese but I tried calling my grandma instead.  When I got a hold of her, only pedicure woman was around to notice that I understood Vietnamese.  Manicure woman comes back and tells pedicure woman, I think this girl is cheap and she won't tip us.  Pedicure woman just looks down and tries to hush the manicure woman.  She then smiles and says this color is so pretty to me.

I was so angry and addressed the manager about the shit talking, but all she said was I'm sorry, so I just left.  Disappointing because this was my favorite nail salon.

recently started going to this salon since they are close to my new place of employment. I have been there a total of 4 times. My series of events will explain why this establishment actually should receive ZERO stars.

On my first visit I came in for a simple manicure before work I live in Irvine, so I had previously asked some co workers where to go and they suggested this place. I came in and a lady helped me she was nice and my manicure came out very nice. They have OPI nailpolish so that is an added plus. If you would of asked me after my first visit I would of rated this place 4 stars.

Second visit... I decided to use the gel manicure since she had mentioned last time that it would last longer only $10 more which is a good deal because most places charge $12+ on top of the manicure price in order to do so. It looked amazing once again, but after a week it started to peel off. I wash my hands frequently, but not excessively so I just thought next time a regular manicure would be just fine.

This is when the downhill experience began....

Third visit... walked in asked for a mani/pedi manicure came out okay inside the salon but when I looked closer some sides were not painted  BUT that was the least of my worries... while I was getting my pedicure done the lady was AGGRESSIVE OVERLY AGGRESSIVE I dont know what she was pissed off about but I did not appreciate how tough she was handling my fragile toes. I asked her to please be a little more gentle. She just smiled and nodded. She let down a little for a bit then continued to hurt my feet again before I could say something she stabs me with the scraper and my toe begins to bleed. NOT A LITTLE blood excessive blood I looked up and said said ouch when it happened and she quickly cleaned it and said, "Oh, look your toe is bleeding" and shrugs.... UHHHHH.??? Trying to be nice and bitting my tounge from saying it wasnt bleeding when I came in you made it bleed I just asked her to put some alcohol on it BECAUSE she had already continued to work as if nothing had happened. The whole time I was getting my feet done my toe kept bleeding and she tried putting antiseptive etc on it but she wouldnt stop messing with my toe so it continued to bleed not only that she would squeeze it and it was painful because it wasnt a cut it was a stab wound I looked at it later and literally a hole was left from her tools.

To make matters worse she continued to work to the point when I said I do not feel comfortable for you to be using your tools and nail polish on my toe when it is bleeding that is not only dangerous for my health but for others. I left without finsihing my toes.

Why may i ask possessed me into coming a 4th time????

well.. I figured as long as I didnt get my toes done my manicures have come out alright in the past and I would be safe....

4th visit.... I walk in ask for a fill ( at this time I had acrylics on) the lady was nice asked me to pick out a color and have  a seat... Mind you this is before I go into work. I sit down around 9:35am. ... Trying to keep myself occupied I begin to text a friend I started texting her at 9:35 when I sat down after I took a while to pick out my nail color. at 10:11am a lady comes up to me and asks if I want to make an appointment because they are busy... Uhhhh?? AGAIN something that should of been said BEFORE I sat down for over a half hour. I ask her how long it will be she tells me at noon. I'm like excuse me? two hours??? shes like yes and informs me they only have 3 people doing acrylics and it would be a two hour wait. I inform her that yes I do no t have an appoinment but that should of been said BEFORE I sat over 30 minutes waiting. She asks if I want to make an appointment .. as you can guess I walked out .

Luckily through Yelp I found Jenny Nails which is in the center over it is CLEAN as can be they even give you ur own file bag with tools for a buck that you can bring for your next visit they were so nice and accomidating and did my nails perfectly! This will be the place I will go to when in the area for a last minute nail fix.

AVOID LOTUS AT ANY COST ... manicure sure if you need it but if you need a pedicure RUN if you get the lady that I got absolutely terrible and after she tried to paint my toe when it was bleeding I'm beginning to question how sanitary this place is. EEEEEKKK!

$18 pedicures are decent. They use disposable files to scrub the bottom of your feet. The workers don't gab loudly so it's pretty relaxing. Lotus nail spa also has a large variety of nail polish colors to choose from. They have a lot of newer OPIs (like black shatter and metallics) so I was pleased with the selection.

it doesn't matter what city i'm in or how long it will take me to get to 'lotus nail spa' i only get my nails done here! i refuse to go any where else. i'm usually the type to try different places but i tried about a dozen nail salons since i was 15 and this is the only place that has consistency. i never wait that long maybe the max is about 10minutes but the workers are always friendly and have quality work. one time i thought a color would look good with my white tips but it turned into a disaster. the nail specialist redid all my nails again since she knew i was unhappy with them even though i didn't mention a word. i recommend this place and on the back of the business card they have coupons so try it out.

My sister has always raved about this place ever since she first went with her friends...after a considerable amount of time of me planning to go... I finally went.

I'm not the high maintenance person that I used to be and have always had the mentality of 'why pay when you can do it yourself', but sometimes a girls gotta pamper herself and live a little.  :]

I walked in and asked a for just the regular manicure & pedicure combo ($27) but with the gel nail color (+$10) that is dried/baked under a uv light for every coat: base, color, 2 top coats.  I was told to sit on the spa lounging chair which was pretty comfortable while two ladies began their work on me.

For the basic mani+pedi combo I felt that I still got my money's worth and then some.  My feet and legs were scrubbed with a sugar/salt scrub and massaged.  And what I really appreciated was that there was no forced conversation or shit talking done even when I was on the verge of spazzing out from the lady scrubbing my ticklish feet, just silence and an occasional word here and there; no upselling of services; and not once was I knicked by an over zealous technician using the cuticle trimmer.

This place is very clean and service is great.  I came in around 4-5 PM on a Thursday and did not have to wait.  It maybe a little pricier than other places, but for the spa chairs, silence, cleanliness and overall outcome of my hands and feet...totally worth the extra bucks!

It really puts me at ease when I see them take out individually packaged pre-sterilized tools before they use them on my toenails and fingernails!!  Dunno if it's just 'for show' but at least it looks like they care..!

I've been here several times and each spa pedicure and manicure has been wonderful! Here are several additional nice touches that Lotus Nail Spa includes in their manicure/pedicure treatments:
    - Other nail salons use regular soap when they massage/'wash' your calves and feet..however, I've noticed that at Lotus Nail Spa, they use sea salt scrub, which is makes your skin feel so soft and soothing afterward!
    - They use HOT, damp towels to wrap your calves in after they scrub, massage, and apply lotion on your calves.  It's a super relaxing feeling...I love it!

Every single time I leave Lotus Nail Spa, I leave with happy and content feeling.  I've put Lotus Nail Spa as one of my top nail salons in my area.  I typically go to Queens Nails on Gridley, but if they're too busy, I'll definitely come straight to Lotus!

This used to be my go-to place when I lived in the area, especially for acrylics. Came here today for the spa combo (mani + pedi for $27) and it was packed! Not surprising though, as it was around 2:30pm on a Friday. The wait was short though, and I was seated in a spa chair in about 10 minutes. They have an OK selection of colors, with OPI and Essie, but most bottles looked like they'd seen their days. I had my feet done first, and then I was moved to a table for my mani, where I was sold on getting the gel nail polish instead. For $10 more, they are supposed to last at least a good 2 weeks, but apparently customers have claimed they've lasted a whole month.

Overall, great service, above average massages, and they don't hound you about add-ons.
