"I found these guys through CSAA also. They are fantastic--they always fix my car correctly the first time, only do what is needed, and they…" read more »
So my driver side window got busted in my VW GTI by some theif (hate crooks!). After reading some reviews I created a list of places to call. Since VW had a slight blue-ish tint in their windows I had trouble finding an aftermarket replacement. A couple of the places I called had no idea what I was talking about.
This is when i gave Lotus Glass a call and she knew EXACTLY what I was talking about and gave me a great deal of $160 to fix it. I asked how long it would take and she said to come in ASAP and it will be done within an hour. 45 minutes later. NEW GLASS on the driver side window with great quality. She knew about what she was talking about because she even knew about the VW window regulators in the car that usually fail after a break in and checked them on the spot for me to see if they would need replacing.
The place is a bit run down and yeah alittle ghetto looking, but they cleaned all the glass out of the interior of my car very nicely. I will recommend this place again! THANKS LOTUS!
My car was broken into late Friday night. I called Lotus Glass mainly because they were open on Saturday and I didnt want to wait until Monday to get my window fixed. I was shocked when they qouted me about 50 bucks less than anyone else. They even cleaned all of the broken glass out of my car! If I ever need to I would definately use Lotus again!
Whenever I drive in Southern California I come back to the bay with a new chip on my windshield. One cracked the whole way across so I went to Lotus Glass Inc. since they have the "Best prices in town". It took less than an hour and it looked great. Their lifetime warranty on workmanship is also reassuring of their service. I have a few chips on my window again-- oh and they also have chip repair service so it doesn't spread-- but anyway, next time I need a replacement I'm definitely going back to Lotus Glass!
I've used these guys (Korean family owned) a number of times over the years and they've been a really good deal. Almost certainly one of the best prices in town and if they have your windshield in stock, the job won't take too long (i.e. while you wait).
The location and facilities are a bit ghetto, and assuming they still allow you to watch the work being done, you may think the quality isn't quite top notch. But after seeing how windshield replacement is done at other facilities (BMW and Lexus), the process is basically the same, fairly simple, and I've had the benefit of seeing their work hold up just fine year after year.
Check them out the next time you've had random debris smash your windshield while driving in the cesspool known as I-880.

A couple of weeks ago, my Volvo was broken into. Some teenage kids broke through my rear window and snagged my school bag with some school papers inside them, nothing more. Probably worth around $40 total. Yes, I was pissed. I felt violated. But that's not what really pissed me off. It was the fact that when I called around to get quotes on getting my window repaired was what made me upset. Almost every place I called quoted me around $240-$290. And for the fact that about $40 worth of stuff was stolen.
So I have been searching for a place to repair my window and I happen to stumble on Lotus Glass. They are a Korean owned company based in San Jose, off of 10th St., near the 880 entrance. So I called them and asked for a quote. The quoted me $140! I had to ask them again to make sure we didn't get mixed up on communication. Compared to the other companies that quoted me (they did offer mobile service with the quote and Lotus is not mobile), Lotus was the best price, period. Lotus estimated the time for repair was around 45min to 1 hour. Not bad... took it during lunch, so no worries. The lady that helped me was very nice and knowledgeable. She asked me to bring it in when I am ready.
Upon arriving, the shop looked a little run down, almost creepy and I felt a little unsure about the quality of service they will perform on my Volvo, but I went with it anyway (couldn't resist the price). So they took my Volvo in and got it replaced in about an hour. Paid my $140 in full and went back to work. I left feeling good that I just saved around $100-$150. Thanks Lotus and I will definitely recommend them to my friends.

Lotus Glass is usually 100% the cheapest glass replacement around the area. They do tabletop glass, windows, car windows, mirrors, trailers, and soon even doors... and they try whatever they can to satisfy you. I've watched Lotus redo a lady's tabletop glass over 5 times just because the lady wasn't satisfied (but she was a total biznatch...) and Lotus just took the critisizm and redid it.
The building is rented and upstairs is a (what I've heard) a famous Mariachi band. Sometimes it can get annoying, but you usually can't hear them.
Most winshield installments take 45 minutes to an hour and on Saturdays they usually bring doghnuts for customers. Two people run the office so sometimes the phone doesn't get picked up either at all or immediately, and if they're busy, usually they make you wait a minute until they're done with the people they're talking to, but don't let it discourage you. They give you lifetime workmanship, and sometimes if you go there often and you give them a lot of business (recommending other people), they give you random things like glass cleaner or a calendar (especially when the new year comes).
