I've been seeing Dr. Armm on and off for a few years now. He is great. My wife sees him too. As a healthcare provider myself, I don't think you can expect much more from a doctor. He is caring, compassionate, and extremely professional.
Acupuncture is a unique approach to health and you want someone who knows their stuff. Dr. Armm is the guy.
They have a few providers in that office, most of whom I don't know, but my bet is that they are all up to par with Dr. Armm (owner/director), so I wouldn't hesitate to see anyone in that office.Comment from Brendan A. of Lotus East-West Medical Center 8/24/2011

What is great about this place? It's located in a cheesy old strip mall on a sidewalk and it's super tiny inside. I came here for the good reviews on yelp despite it being on the expensive side. I came here a handful of times and I have to say how unhappy I was due to the following reasons.
1. The doctor did not seem very knowledgeable - when I asked questions about things her response was, "I've never heard of that but I'll look into it."
2. She recommended all kinds of vitamins which I had to buy from them with jacked up prices. At one point I had to tell her that I had many of the vitamins already at home (bought from Trader Joes for a fraction of the cost). Which brings me to #3...
3. I SPECIFICALLY emailed the doctor and told her I was on a TIGHT budget and knowing that follow ups range from $90 - $150, she charged me the full $150 for some acupuncture (w/o needles) that I NEVER ASKED FOR AND SHE NEVER BOTHERED TO TELL ME HOW MUCH IT COSTS. I felt that was very sneaky, trying to get the most out of me w/o even bothering to explain to me that it costs extra when I DIDN'T even want it or ASK for it in the first place and this is AFTER I said I was on a tight budget. Plus all that extra time spent on acupuncture made me late for work.
4. Money spent was just not worth it. $250 for initial visit. $150 for follow ups, although sometimes it was $90 for 30 minutes.
5. They (doctor & office people) are very slow to get back to you via email unless it's to reschedule/schedule an appointment. I had to email twice for a receipt for my last credit card payment, which they have yet to respond.
Bottom line, after doing a ton of research myself online, I have learned a lot more than I did after spending almost $700 at Lotus!!Listed in: Random places to AVOID in the…

I absolutely love this place and genuinely believe that they have played a significant part in improving my health. I recommend them and my particular practitioner Dr. Armm immensely.
I started seeing Dr. Armm around January 2009 and I was sent to him through a Dr. Michael Ferrantee who I reviewed on Yelp for some pain management and hormone balancing. I had a pretty significant pituitary problem and wanted to avoid traditional medical treatments which were very serious and could have long term negative effects.
Instead, I worked with Dr. Armm and even though it had been small steps at first, I really was able to feel better and get the entire problem in check. I have never had to do the traditional medical treatment and for that i am utterly grateful.
I feel very close to Dr. Armm and his staff and feel as though they are like family. They have looked after me in so many ways and I know that they do that for so many patients.
I highly recommend them for anyone considering acupuncture and alternative medicine treatments.

When I first came to Lotus East West I felt overcome by calm healing energy and felt instantly welcome. I have been working with Dr. Armm healing an injury and bringing my body into much needed balance and wellness.
Dr. Armm is skillful, practical and incredibly intuitive. I am currently having regular acupuncture treatments and feeling more alive and empowered in my body with less pain. This relief has gained my trust in his methodology.
I've also worked with Dr. Armm doing prenatal as well as postpartum treatments and was given a special blend of Chinese herbs that helped to regulate my body after birth.
I am grateful to have found Lotus East West and thankful to his warm and friendly staff.

It's pricey, but it's worth it to me. I see Won mi Lauren Kim after having seen several other Asian acupuncturists who invariably turned judgmental or would start to lecture me as if they were my mom. Won mi is very warm & caring with an amazing intuitive feel for what points need needles (ha ha). I always feel enveloped in a warm, cozy aura after a session with her. She's been crucial to my recovery after my last two marathons.
