First stop on our self guided winery tour, and as we weaved the van through trees on the unpaved driveway leading up to the winery, we now understood why they didn't offer a bus for the tour. luckily we had a DD (no drinky and drivey ya'll). its name is appropriate since it is the most secluded winery we hit that day but so very worth the visit.
the drive is gorgeous and earlier it had rained so you could smell the trees when you got out of the car. I was having a Snow White moment- adorable birds and deer would emerge from the forest and they'd fix my hair and rinse my glass between tastings. that'd be great.
Known for its reds, i passed on the offer of starting with a white. While all were delicious, the Cabernet Franc and the Cabernet Sauvignon were my favies. the Rainforest Red was also a good blend of three of their grapes. the Cellar Rat Red which is their "workers' wine" it constantly changes depending on the small amounts left over when bottling wines - its basically a red wine mash up, and my aunt gave it her approval though i know she'd rather be having a cold glass of scotch. my aunt is a hard-drinker. this time around it was a bit too sweet for my tastes. their wines are all sulfite-free (FYI much of the manufactured sulfites used in wine-making are derivatives from petroleum crude/natural gas residue). word up to natural wine-making methods. -

THIS WINERY IS NOW CLOSED...
Aw shucks. I was planning a trip to Sequim, found this place on Yelp, checked their website, and this is what I found:
"Thank you for 28 great years!
The winery is now closed and we send our sincere thanks to all of you who have been such loyal and supportive fans of our wines. We will miss visiting with you in our tasting room, but we are ready for new adventures and the time to pursue some other long-held dreams. It has been our great pleasure to have been a small part of your festive meals and family celebrations!
Grazie and Arrivederci . . . . .
The Conca Family"

Beautiful surroundings with backdrop of the Olympics. They produce a delicous red wine without any sulfites. Coolest label.
Prices are good. -

I loved this winery and location, but they closed their doors this year (summer '09). Just "FYI".

I understand that they are going to close in the next month or so....the owners are onto a new venture and will be out of the wine biz.
