Good place if you're just learning the game.  I brought a few beginners here and only use my 7 & 9 iron and putter.

You can easily play this course in about 90 minutes unless you get some really bad beginning golfers in front of you.  I think this course is mostly frequented by older women's golf leagues.

Hint:  On weekends play after 3pm on Sunday and you'll shoot right through.  Watch the 9th hole as it is very short and you may hit a car driving out despite the net.

I've played here a few times now, and find it to be a great way to squeeze in 9 holes after work.  The course itself is nothing to write home about, but its pretty laid back and cheap.

Positives:

Lost Brook is in good shape for a par 3 course.  I didn't expect much, and they exceeded those expectations by a little.  The grass is pretty consistent, but a little under maintained (not a big surprise).

Length.  For a par 3 executive, they do their best to make the layout a little challenging.  This definitely is not your standard wedge/9 iron type course.  You'll need to bring a full bag (well, maybe you can take a couple out).

Cost.  Its very reasonably priced for what it is.  18 holes will only run you $25 on the weekend.

Negatives:

Boring layout.  I mean its a par 3 course, so this is somewhat expected, but I'd like to see some more guarded greens.  I'm usually pretty bored with it by hold 5 or 6.  Its not exactly what you'd call a challenge if you can hit your irons accurately.

People that play here are usually pretty new to golf.  Completely understandable, as I bring my friends here if they're not really up to the standard length course.  Because its a par 3 course though, this can make the round really slow if you get behind the right group.  Really adds to the yawn factor.

I'm going to include as a negative Jason W's review.  What they did to your son is pretty messed up.  I've personally never had a problem with the staff here, but I've seen *really* bad golfers here before, so I'm amazed that they'd tell you to leave.  I'm glad you wrote that up here.

Overall Grade: C+

Great way to wind down the day after work, if you can't get out early enough to fit in 9 at a real course.  Also a great place to bring amateur golfers to get them some practice.

Sunday afternoon golf? Indeed.

I don't think I'd suggest coming from over the hills and far away to play golf here, but for a quick 9 or even all 18 holes it's a good executive course. It's a par 58 with the longest holes in the low 200 yard range. Overall the course is pretty flat and straight. There's a shack where you can get drinks and other things you might have forgotten like a glove or tees, etc. There are pull carts available to rent (which are pretty sweet, actually) and riding carts are not available. You'll need a tee time before early afternoon, but after that it's open. Check for it on the map, it's behind a Meditech office building and doesn't stick out very well from the street.

I've now played here twice and this review is based on my 2nd time out. The 1st time the course was mostly covered in duck shit and it wasn't tons of fun. If the geese are out, stay in, or find someplace else.  Otherwise, check it out.

i've played here a few times.  i'm relatively new to golf having just started a couple of summers ago, but i find this to be a reasonably challenging course.

holes range from about 90 yards to 220, so it's definitely a step above a pitch and putt.  it's reasonably priced - after 3:00 18 holes are just $20 - pretty well laid out, and well maintained.  you don't have any doglegs or anything like that as the course is far too short, but there are several holes with sand traps and a couple of water hazards for the unwary.

this course will help beginners and moderate golfers work on their iron game as accuracy is the key, especially on the back nine.  definitely a family-type course.  you will see lots of kids and beginners, so be patient and enjoy the course.

pull carts and riding carts are available for additional fees.
