Great service, amazing food, wonderful tequila selection! I'm here frequently on Wednesdays for "Ladies Night" $4 margaritas. It's a fun time with yummy food and drink surrounded by friends. They have a vast selection of margarita flavours that are included in the "ladies night" special, too.
Though I haven't gotten dinner food in a while, I can tell you that if you go for just drinks and dessert you will not be disappointed! -

I recommend the chicken tortilla soup, the guacamole real and margaritas. These items are very good.
Other items I've had:
Cocktail Civiche: chock full of seafood, but waaay too much lime flavor. And with so many varieties of olives to choose from, why top it with plan old green olives from a jar?
Memela: $15 for a dry corn masa topped with beans, pico de gallo and choice of meat or veg. Bordered on tasteless.
Rollos Cabos: Ordinary seafood enchiladas in mild cheese sauce. Nofucking way it was worth $22.
Conclusion: Nothing special for the price tag. HOWEVER, it will not stop me for going back for margaritas, guac and soup. -

I used to love Los Sarapes, however my memory of a once wonderful restaurant are, unfortunately memories. When I moved back to the area in June I was so excited to take my wife to what used to be one of my favorite restaurants. It seems as though thoughtful touches such as a roaming guitar player and the working fountain in the restaurant have become victims of the economic cutbacks.
To make matters worse the food was just bleh, and I finished off my mediocre night with my first ever case of food poisoning. Yes that is right, food poisoning. My wife and I each had a chicken dish the only difference being that I had the multi-color rice. As soon as we hit the car afterwords, I knew something was off and figured I ate too fast. I quickly deteriorated once at home, and had, what may possibly be, the worst night of my life. If I slept 30 minutes it is an overstatement between the sprints to the bathroom and violent vomiting.
As a coutesy, my wife called them the next day just to let them know what had happened. Having rice sit too long after it is cooked is the main cause of food poisoning. The girl who answered the phone was unfazed and simply said let us know anything else. No apology, no nothing.
In my opinion, there are much better options to spend your hard earned money in the area and they will never see another dollar from me.... -

I've eaten here a few times over the years. I still remember when it was a BYOB. Not much to say that hasn't already been said in other reviews.
Interior is very nice with an upscale feel, which in and of itself is unique since most Mexican restaurants tend to be more about rustic homeyness.
The food is very good. However the prices are very high compared to most other Mexican restaurants and the portions aren't reflective of the cost. Most appetizers are around $10 and all but a couple of the entrees are in the high teens and low 20's. Even corn tortilla chips and salsa, something that most Mexican restaurants give you a complimentary serving of as the equivalent to rolls and butter, is $4.
Service is ok but not exceptional.
I would give more than 3 stars if the prices were more reasonable but I've had Mexican food at more casual places that was just as good but didn't cost nearly as much. Mexican cuisine is for the most part, really simple in nature - fresh ingredients prepared well. There are few incredibly complex techniques or 8 hour sauces like in French cooking, so upselling it with higher prices just doesn't work for me. -

I live a stones throw away from Los Sarapes, and am glad I do.
This place is a convenient place for drinks, lunch, and dinner. I can't say that I've ever had authentic mexican, but whatever LS serves-I can say that I do enjoy that quite a bit.
The dinner menu can be a bit pricey, but the lunch specials that they offer are pretty damn good.
On Saturdays they close mid-day for a few hours, so be aware of that previous to going.
The employees are very friendly and have always been accommodating. -

Been to LosSarapes a few times. The food is pretty good, i think over priced. The maragritas are great though! I have found the service to be hit or miss. There are a few other local Mexican restaurants i prefer......Los Margaritas!!!!! I have tajken my kids and found where we were seated not prime for toddlers.I would suggest leaving the kids at home!

If you want Tex-Mex, this is not what you're looking for. Los Sarapes is authentic Mexican. It has truly been my favorite place in the area for years. In addition to the ambiance, food, and drinks - the management/service is absolutely amazing.
Always start off with the Tequini or Margartia. They are really wonderful, and there's a selection to choose from. I always chow down on the homemade salsa and chips they give at the beginning of the meal. As for appetizers, the Banderillas Ahogadas are absolutely amazing. I always have two orders, and I always pour the remaining salsa on it.
The Estilo Tampequena is flavorful and tender each and everytime. Same goes for Pollo 2 Quesos, Carne Asada (which is only at the new Horsham Rd. location), and ANY of the specials.
It's reasonably priced for such consistant quality. -

In Doylestown with my parents. This is the second time I have been here. Went with my parents, my sister and niece, my two kids. Everyone enjoyed their meal.
I had the hueracha (sic). It was very good but unconventional. Mexican food with cauliflower, broccoli and green beans. -

This is a really good place - a bit pricier than I'd like - but worth it. BIG margarita's and a good selection of entrees. And yes, as said below, it is nice that they use MANCHEGO cheese and not some generic American alternative.
This is as close as you can get to authentic Mex in Bucks County.Listed in: Flam's take on MOX-ican

I used to frequent Los Sarapes when I lived in Bucks Co., but I still try to make a stop here every time I come back to visit Doylestown.
Coming from Texas, you don't really expect to find quality Mexican / Tex-Mex food in the distant suburbs of Philadelphia. I don't remember how my dad found this place when we moved here, but these guys keep it honest with authentic ingredients (think chihuahua and manchego cheeses NOT Sargento's Mexican 4-Cheese Blend).
The banderillas ahogadas are superb (I've been known to have one order for an appetizer and two for an entre), my bro usually likes to kick things off with the queso fundido, and I also like the carne asada tampiquena and the chile relleno for dinner. -

If you live in the Doylestown/Chalfont area, this is good fix for your authentic Mexican cravings!
There is homemade guacamole, salsa and chips for appetizers (the guacamole is the BEST I have ever had). And definitely check out the Tequila Bar for your drink selection. For your entree there are always great specials as well as delicious stand-bys like the Fajita Quesadillas.
Also, on certain nights there is a piano player or a mariachi. -

Wow my wife and I where recommended here from a few people. Unfortunately the server was not too pleasant and the food was overpriced. We did have a coupon we printed from there site that day which granted it was expired but it was not updated on their half. So needless to say I do not think we will try there again.

Los Sarapes delivers unquestionable consistency, an unbelievable Margarita, an alluring menu plus the distinction of fantastic service. The bar is lively, bottles of tequila carefully caged along the wall and an attentive owner standing diligently nearby to welcome his guests.
For lighter fare, dine at a high top table in the candlelit bar and share. Get yourself a margarita and start ordering.
A must try are the handmade Chihuahua nachos with chicken and chorizo garnished with black beans and cilantro. Get a small side of guacamole and pico de gallo and you will not be disappointed.
The El Indio Azteca is a perfect segway into the next adventure. A delicious grilled double-decker flour tortilla stuffed with shredded chicken, mild rajas poblanas and melted chihuahua cheese sandwiched between grilled flour tortillas.
Stop here or continue eating will be the only dilemma of this meal. My favorite main dish to share is the Fajita Quesadilla. They call this Especialidades Mexicanas which translates into "Sudden Cravings". Try it once and the truth is you will have sudden cravings for it many times over in the future. Beware! -

i've only been here twice, but both times i left full and happy. the guacamole real is a perfect appetizer and comes with homemade tortilla chips, which you just can't beat. screw you tostitos! the flautas are fantastic. my husband had pollo ranchero - chicken with chorizo and cheese. yum!
beers on tap come in 16 and 23oz sizes. the tequila list (love) is really extensive - but also expensive. the prices of the food are reasonable, but they get you with the booze. a top-shelf margarita is the cost of a shot (ranging from $5-30!) plus $3 for the rest of the concoction that makes it a margarita. so go, enjoy the food, and... and here is the best piece of advice you will ever get... be careful with the tequila.
tip - they only take reservations for parties of 5+. the wait can be a little long, but there is plenty of seating in the bar area if you need to wait for a table. -

Can tell you several stories about Los Sarapes - but I will spare you & just provide the Cliff Notes...... FOOD is VERY GOOD. Why do I only give it 2 Stars you ask?? Two WORDS ----- The service. The people here are MEAN. They have all these "rules" about what you can / can't do ( there are many rules but one they are very SERIOUS about : absolutely NO substitutions, don't even THINK about asking - you will get a GLARE.) It is over-priced. They always rush us. When it was byob - they used MY tequila & made margaritas with their mix and charged me $7 for each one..... I could go on & on - but I won't. We still occasionally go there - b/c like I said - the food IS GOOD -- and we always come away with a story.......SO - if you DO go... at least you know what to expect.......good food, bad service.

I found this place using Yelp for the first time and it was AMAZING! Do not be fooled by the appearance of the building - random shack looking place offf 202 painted entirely orange, pink, and purple. At first I was a little concerned at my choice... But, inside they have a fountain (!!) in the entry way and a very nice atmosphere.
The margaritas are fabulous and the food was even better. It is NOT your standard "which number am I going to order" Mexican restaurant. Each dish is extremely unique and very tasty! The prices are a little higher than you might expect to see at other Mexican restaurants, but the quality of the food more than makes up for the difference. I will definitely be back! -

Honestly, this area lacks any authentic mexican restaurants worth writing home about, so my wife and i decided to try los sarapes a few weeks ago. well, the best thing about the entire meal were the 2 ice cold dos equis i had. The rest of the meal was forgettable, including the $12 plate of nachos with fresh guacamole (which was bland to say the least) and pico de gallo (more or less diced tomatoes). THe entrees were okay, although way overpriced for the quality/quantity of food given. I have no problem paying $20 for a good quality mexican entree, but for $20, you should get somthing worthwhile. For almost $100 bucks (inlcuding tip for decent service) for 2 entrees and a basket of chips with guac and pico (and 2 pints of dos equis and a margarita), there has to be a better option. I wanted to like this place, had a good atmosphere, but could not bring myself to.

This place was recommended to me by various co-workers, so my wife and I headed there with great expectations (sorry Charlie). I have a lot of experience working in the restaurant industry - from fast food to very high end establishments. I have enjoyed Mexican food from coast to coast and have been to Mexico on 3 different occasions. On each occasion I have sought out and eaten at many different neighborhood cantinas.
It was the heart of a Saturday night and around this area all the good restaurants are overflowing with patrons waiting to be seated. The place was about one quarter full when we arrived - never a good sign on a Saturday night. I don't know why, but with all the empty tables they seated us in a remote corner at a table that was still being cleaned. To make matters worse the table was unsteady. It was so bad I was afraid to let go of my drink. You think they would have put some folded napkins under one of the legs.
The drinks - we had 2 Dos Equis Amber. Neither glass was full upon arrival which usually means that the head evaporated while they sat awaiting delivery to the table. Remember, the place only had about 8 parties total. To make matters worse (I keep using that phrase, but matters kept on getting worse) the beers were watered down! I didn't want to believe it at first, but after tasting my second beer, there was no doubt. On the bright side, it probably meant that the glasses were recently washed (and still very wet).
Being famished, we ordered Mexican Nachos for $4. The dish was underwhelming in size and taste. It consisted of around 12 chips - slightly above average in texture and taste - and about 3 ounces of pico d' gallo salsa. The salsa was fresh made, but fresh made does not mean delicious. It was below average. Tomatoes and onions are not salsa.
We should have left then, but chips and salsa do not a Mexican restaurant make, so we forged onward to the appetizers. We ordered Tamales Capitalinos ($7). The menu says they are from 'Grammy's recipe.' Well, Grammy must not have any spices in her kitchen because they were bland. There were 4 small tamales, that when unwrapped revealed a concoction that was very reminiscent of something my cat spits up - about the same size and color - except my cat's hairballs probably have more flavor.
I am nothing if not stubborn. I refused to believe a restaurant highly recommended by friends whose opinions I value could be totally disappointing, so we stayed the course and plunged ahead to the entrees.
My wife ordered Rollos Cabos ($18) - seafood stuffed blue tortillas covered in a cream of chipotle sauce. The dish consisted of a pair of underized tubes with something inside of them and a small amount of sauce. I guess if we had sent them to a lab for analysis they may have found some seafood in the contents, but to the naked eye there was next to nothing in them. They were dry and - as with every other dish to this point - TASTLESS!
I ordered the Puerco Oaxaqueno ($18) - pork tenderloin tips in a smoky pepper sauce. The beans on the side were tasty - finally something with flavor. The pork - about 8 small chunks - was overcooked and as dry as the Sonoran desert. After I had finished, the waitress came over and said "You didn't like that, did you?" I told her it was dry and overcooked. She left the table and I expected her to return with a manager but all she returned with was the check.
Let me wrap this up by stating that I didn't want to write so scathing a review. I waited two weeks to give myself some time to reflect about this Well, I have reflected and come to the conclusion that this was one of the two worst dining experiences I have ever had. I say two because even though I cannot actively recall any worse, I will assume that maybe, somewhere, sometime in my distant past I have had an equally execrable repast.
