I would strongly caution against staying here during wedding season.  In fact, I'd recommend making sure to ask if there is indeed a wedding booked for your stay; if so - choose an alternate location.

Weddings are loud. Walls are thin.  If you have the heart to complain to the staff, do so.

They do accept dogs, although there is no mention the extra $75 fee on the website.  Their grounds are sufficient for your brief potty walks, but not for much more.

This motel might fit someones taste but not mine. If you don't like the chain hotel feel and want something very original, this would fit.   We stayed here only for location, while visiting friends in Los Gatos.  The price was right for about $100/night.  The rooms were decorated in the 80s??? Peeling wall paper, old furnishings, I felt like I was at someones grandparents house. They hold weddings here, what an awful room to have to return to after the ceremony.  There was a decent size balcony that looked out over a very large lawn area.  The best I have to say is the wireless Internet worked in the room!  I didn't think it was a bad motel,  just not a nice place to stay

This review is for the motel only.

My mom died very unexpectedly in July, and my daughter and I made a hurried trip down to Los Gatos from the Portland area the day after.  We drove straight through, and by the time we got to Los Gatos Lodge where we'd made reservations, we were absolutely exhausted.  We dragged our bags up a long flight of stairs to our room where we hoped to get hot showers and fall into bed.

What a disaster!  The room was small, extremely outdated, and dirty.  The bathroom was so small that we could barely get into the shower.  It too was filthy.  My daughter immediately got on the phone and reserved us a room for the next night at The Toll House, an upscale hotel.  She's an exec, knows what to look for,  and made all the arrangements.

This was an awful motel.  The grounds are pretty, but the rooms are severely outdated, small and dirty.  The beds were comfy enough, but you couldn't pay me to stay here again.  I wouldn't have been surprised to see cockroaches crawling out of the woodwork.  We couldn't wait  to get out of there the next morning, and would've moved the night before if we hadn't been so exhausted. Yuk-R-squared!  Never again.

When we were looking at wedding venues this place made me cry.

It was nothing they did, but when I saw this place it was so shabby and old. It looked like the rec area of an old college appartment complex.  It had a cute looking gazebo, but that was about it.  With all that, they were out of our budget.

Pretty shabby, has that college spring break econo stay feel in the rooms, but the grounds itself are pretty decent. The staff is nice, and the bar is filled with older locals and live music on Friday night.

Certainly not the kind of place I'd have a wedding, but granted its one of the few places to stay in Los Gatos, I had a pretty good stay.

Thin walls, uncomfortable (old) beds and housekeepers that start vacuuming and cleaning rooms before 7 on a Sunday.  I won't be back.

I'm giving this place four stars not because the accomodations are luxurious or anything ... because they are NOT.... but because it has nice grounds and easy access to the outside, they take pets and are friendly with no pretentions.  The rooms are clean but old looking, a la 1970s style or perhaps 80s.  The air conditioning works well.  There are little outside patios and balconies in two story buildings.  it's kind of 'old Los Gatos' and is the least expensive place to stay in that town.  (but not cheap!)

They have live music, restaurant and bar but never so late that you can't sleep.  On a couple of occasions I've had wedding parties keep me up with rowdy behavior but otherwise it's quiet, easy access and right in Los Gatos.

Oh, and it has a pool.

We had two big Karaoke parties for work here this past summer. The first time we bought about 70 people to their spacious bar and had the whole place to ourselves for the afternoon. The LG Lodge has a regular karaoke DJ, so we asked him to come early and DJ for us. He wasn't the best DJ ever, but we had a good time. We ordered a spread of fried foods and the bar set up drink tickets for us, both of which helped to get people loosened up and happy.

Later in the summer we rented out the Lodge's huge outdoor swimming pool and catered an evening Karaoke event for about 300 people. They set up a lot of umbrellas and outdoor heaters, which made the whole outside space very comfortable. We had more food and beverages this time around, and also upgraded to a better DJ. This place is very flexible and easy to work with for large and small events, definitely recommended.

We went too look at this place for our wedding and reception. It was a definite "no".
The rooms and the grounds are both a bit shabby. Not to mention they really aren't that reasonable for what they are.
Their outdoor ceremony area is actually kind of cute.Although, for our wedding the ceremony is going to be so short, the reception area is more important to us.
It might be ok for other events, but not for a wedding. (At least not ours.)

This review is for the banquet facilities, not the rooms.   What's good about the LG Lodge?

1) Plenty of parking and it's right off Hwy 85 for relatively easy access;
2) Staff is friendly.  Additionally, the general manager gave our group a discount because we're a nonprofit.  :)
3) The portions of food are large.  This is both good if you're hungry and bad if you have no self control about eating normal portions.

What's not so good?

1) Service is a bit slow and uneven.  It could also been that the two servers for 60+ people were overwhelmed in trying to serve a banquet style meal.

2) The facility is a bit dated and needs a face lift.  It is clean and neat though.

So, a solid 3.5 stars really.

I just stayed there over this last weekend. Thankfully it was only for one night. I can deal with the dated decor, I can deal (barely) with shameful fluorescent lighting in the rooms, I can deal with the somewhat hapless service. What I could not believe was how LOUD it is. I can only assume that the walls are made of balsa wood. The incessant door slamming in the building was laughable. Seriously, from 7am to check out, we could hear doors slamming every 10 minutes. Also, I woke up startled because I thought someone was showering in our room! Nope, just really really really bad noise control. It was so bad it was funny.
