The five stars are well deserved. The staff is very friendly, my appointment started on time (gasp!) and Dr. Pham is a good dentist.
They also have all the latest high tech gear including mouth cameras so you can see what they are seeing. -

Great dentist! Never pushes you into work you don't need like most other dentists. I used to work nearby, but I still travel to see her now because I trust her work so much. And she's super friendly.

As a former very happy patient of Dr. Larsen, I was disappointed to hear of his retirement in 2008. I decided to stay on with the practice that was renamed Los Gatos Family Dentistry after he told me how stringent of an interview process he put the potential candidate through and the fact that he himself would be a patent of Dr. Patricia Phan.
Dr. Phan is younger than your average dentist, but you should not let that dissuade you. She graduated form a top dental school in SF and is extremely talented in her field. The office is extremely modern and the awesome hygienists all stayed on board from Dr. Larsen. -

I usually dread going to the dentist, but Los Gatos Family Denistry has a warm feel that makes seeing the dentist more tolerable. The waiting room makes you feel like home, and they have a wide assortment of magazines to choose from.
Dr. Phan is a genuinely caring dentist. Even though I was nervous, she made me feel calm and comfortable. She listened to my concerns and thoroughly explained the issues that I have and provides preventative suggestions that I can do to take care of my teeth. She was gentle during my cleaning and the staff was friendly and professional.
The office looks new and has the latest technology with digital xrays. This was really cool to see compared to other places I've been to. And the freebies at the end of your appointment are a plus. Highly recommended. -

NEED ROOT CANAL - Maybe Not!
I needed a root canal or so I thought. I went to 4 other dentists and they all recommended a root canal.
Los Gatos Family Dentist, saved my tooth with no root canal.
I also usually get the dentist to do routine work on me. She is very good, patient, listens well, and just makes you feel like you are really well taken care of. -

the problem with the practice is the dentist has at least 3 dental hygientist that also will clean your teeth and do the exam, so you actually don't have the dentist working on you unless you have something that only she can do. SO I would rather go to a practice where the dentist does the work. Hygientists usually only have 2 or more years of training.
In addition, they are not a preferred provider with many dental plans so check your insurance, the front desk was not very useful in explaining that.
Dentist was friendly enough, but seem a little rushed. So it was just an OK to medicore experience, don't think I will go back.Comment from Patricia P. of Los Gatos Family Dentistry 3/21/2011

I've been going to Dr. Phan for several years now and keep going back to her for the unparalled service, expertise and friendliness that few dentists can compare with.
Recently, while playing basketball, I chipped a tooth pretty badly in the back of my mouth and felt some pain in my teeth and was afraid that I may need extensive dental work. You can imagine the fear I had of never being able to chew on one side of the mouth again (I like to eat, A LOT). Fortunately under the care of Dr. Phan, she eased my worries and educated me on the the options I had to repair my tooth and also how to prevent this from happening again when playing contact sports. The entire process was painless and relatively quick as I don't particularly like to have my mouth open for extended durations since my jaw muscles become sore and it's just uncomfortable. My chipped tooth has been fixed for about a month now and I have no problems chewing, biting and have no pain. If I were to recommend a dentist, I would without a doubt recommend Dr. Phan and her staff for any dental work, whether a simple routine checkup or as in my case, an emergency dental problem. There are dentists who just want you in and out and hope you come back but at Los Gatos Family Dentistry they take their time with you to answer any questions and I feel that they have a sincere concern for me as a long term patient and friend. Just like auto insurance, you may only think about it once or twice a year, but it pays to look around so give Los Gatos Family Dentistry a try! -

Dr. Phan has been my dentist for a number of years now, and I naturally went over to Los Gatos Family Dentistry when she first moved there. It sounds crazy but I've to say that I actually really enjoy going to see my dentist. The staff is super friendly and helpful, not to mention very knowledgeable. Donna is always on top of my appointments and follow-ups. Dr. Phan will take her time to go through each step and explain all the details and really make sure you understand what she's doing. I always have a bright smile when I walk out!! Big thanks to Dr. Phan and staff, my teeth have never been better!!!!

I have been really lucky to find LGFD, I originally came in with an emergency root canal due to an abcess and I have been coming back ever since. They nailed it in record time and got me back in the game relieved and re-energized. I love all the employees there. I am kinda a wuss when it comes to dental work so I really have to be comfortable with who is doing the work. Everybody there has been so warm and welcoming and patient with me that I feel right at home.
