My entire time at Western, I HATED Monmouth. But FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, the last few weeks, I've had a craving for the manteca-licious grub at Los Dos.
I'll be honest...I get the same thing every time I go: the mole enchiladas. The only reason I keep getting that is because they're so damn good! I mean, I try mole almost wherever I go (even in Mexico, which is a whole other breed of mole), and this is definitely my favorite USA-ized mole...ever. A little sweet, a little not, it's just so yummy! Also, I'm really, really, really ridiculously picky about my Spanish rice, and they get it right here. Perfecto!
The margaritas, though, are another story. They're fine, but not maravillosas. They have really strong tequila flavor, but don't pack nearly as much of a buzz as the taste would suggest. Also, they always seem to be out of some of the bar ingredients. Take tonight, for example. Someone wanted a Sol beer. The waitress comes back and says they're out. Then he wants something else, to find that they're also out, and that they had Negra Modelo, Modelo Especial, and a few others.
Service is also slow on soda refills, etc., and no extra chips and salsa if you're out. :(
Price really can't be beat, though. You can get a full meal for less than $10.
