A friend of the family got married a few weeks ago and they hired Los Boleros. I have heard good things about them before and have been wanting to go see them at a salsa club but never had a chance to see them before.
I was amazed at the high caliber or talent. The whole band could sing and I mean really sing. The dinner set was romantic, melow and not overwhelming at all while we ate. The dance music stepped it up about ten notches! I am not a great dancer although I do love to dance. Los Boleros got the place jumping and I had a fabulous time! I cannot wait till they play in San Francisco again, this time I will be there!
Los Boleros just played at my wedding reception a few weeks ago, and they were one of the most memorable aspects of my wedding day. My wedding guests were comprised of people from all ages, cultures and tastes, and everyone enjoyed the band.
Los Boleros did a great job raising the energy of the reception and getting everyone to dance, playing recognizable favorites as well as great salsa, cha cha and son songs for those who know Cuban culture or do Latin dancing. For those who didn't dance, I could see them standing, clapping and swaying to the music as if they were at a concert.
Their manager was also very easy to work with, and they handled everything they were supposed to logistically. I would highly recommend this band for your wedding or event.
I've worked with Los Boleros many times, and they truly epitomize musicianship, professionalism, and great personality! As a professional dancer and teacher at events we've shared, I've often asked them to set a certain tempo or isolate a particular rhythm for my students. They do it immediately and accurately. It makes the whole class such fun for everyone! They are the most responsible and accountable band I've ever worked with professionally; timeliness, presentation and polish are very obvious in everything they do.
Their musical style is extremely authentic, and really epitomizes the classic Cuban/Puerto Rican aesthetic. They're fantastic!
I Saw Los Boleros perform at Rasselas Jazz Club. I am an avid salsa and ballroom dancer and I have seen it all, that is untill now. They had three increadible vocalists, especialy the female. Not only was the music great but they poses an energy unlike any band I have ever seen. Fun to watch and great to dance to. Wedding band? :) If I ever go that route, I know exactly who I will call. Five stars all the way.
I went to a wedding recently -- the couple had met at salsa class. I looked forward to the wedding with "a live salsa band" and was not disappointed! The band was awesome onstage, playing softly during the reception while we ate, then playing expressively while we danced into the night. It was great fun and I highly recommend Los Boleros for weddings and other merry events.
You're going to hire them, and then you're going to want to be a groupie. They're excellent musicians with lots o' personality. They helped to make my husband's birthday party a huge smash. They agreed to play outside and in a little bit of an improvised stage area, ie, my deck, with never a complaint. My guests commented on how much they liked the band: their music and their personality.
