Word of advice:
DO NOT PLAY ON FRIDAYS!
Unless you start really early and have 6 hours (I shit you not) to kill.
Because you  will NEVER finish your game.

And, this folks, are words straight from 2 of the course marshals mouths.
Who, by the way joined us as we were getting ready to tee-off on the South Course.
Always busy and delayed on Fridays.
And. that  includes Thursdays too, people.

I really like the 27 hole North/South/ East action and set up of the place, but it does tend to lead to some chaos and a lot of delay.
Especially if you are being dropped in the middle of 2 groups who are already starting their 10 hole...your first.

Some of the fairways are really narrow and some have some extreme steep right to left or left to right slope. Extremely steep.
But, I felt like it was a fun and exciting course to play.
Dynamic, is the word.

Again, this was and Old School club with an old school feel.
The 2 marshals that joined us were really really really cool, and we had a great time playing with them.
Hi, Caesar!
Hi, Victor!
They'll probably never read this, but I got give a shout out to them.

So yeah, back to the delay.
13 holes and almost 3.5 hour later, we decided to call it quits, because we had to be some where and it was almost 6.

Yeah, let's get outta here.

Ah, well. I hope to come here on a really off day and play an entire round.
Hopefully well hook up with Vic and Caesar again.

My only complaint is the staff.  Not the friendliest people - especially when you call in to get a tee time.  The fairways are ok, not in the best shape but for the price it is worth it.  If you are a decent player, you don't have to worry about the pace.  On a Saturday morning, there was one group ahead of us at all times.  Behind us we had a group of old Korean woman so they didn't pressure us much.

Royal Vista Golf Club has three nine hole courses that are played in three eighteen hole combinations. These courses are nestled in the quiet Walnut Valley with a spectacular view of the mountains on a clear day. All three courses play basically the same. The tree-lined fairways are rolling and range from open to tight. The elevated greens are medium in size and speed, and some are surrounded by deep bunkers. Additionally, some holes feature water in play or tricky dogleg configurations. If you're like me who likes to play at as many golf coursed as I can. Then you need to try this course. It's not the best, But I've played at a lot worst!

Every other review is fairly spot on. Here are a few things no one else seems to have mentioned yet...

-You will have to drive your cart through a few suburban streets and even a stoplight or two.
-There are several holes that have houses to the right of them. I'm talking almost built onto the course. If you smack it into one of them and hear a THUNK then you are alright. If you hear a CRASH then you better bust out your checkbook.
-More than enough challenging greens to keep a smile on your face.

This is definitely a course that I will try to make more time to play at in the future.

I used to work here as the "snack cart" girl...yup the girl in the totally heinous oversized hawaiian shirt driving the snackcart loaded w/ beer and snackies.

Anyway from personal experience (from workin here n b/c i used to play here for my HS golf team)...I pretty much know how they maintain(or don't maintain) this course...the course isn't gorgeous or anything, but then again it is also a public course.

the weekdays are probably be one the better days to play...I would definitely not reccomend playing saturday morning b/c it is insanely crowded..and saturday afternoon more ghetto folk tend to roll around chuggin an 8 pack of bud light or MGD and bustin a happy gilmore swing.

They do give you a free round of golf on your birthday..which is pretty cool...i took full advantage of that one year..but ended up going extreme golfing w/ my best friend..(just take a look at my pix n you'll know what im talkin about)

This review is from a Wedding Professional point of view. I have seen many golf course in the area and tasted many dishes in the area and nothing beats the quality and service at the The Royal Vista Golf Club.

[Service] The staff, Managers and Servers here are super friendly and very helpful. I have done numerous wedding set-ups and not once did I feel unwelcome they are always ready to assist in whatever I needed to get my job done!

[Quality] If you have seen this Golf Club before the new management took over...honey! It's night and day. The location looks and feels much more upscale much more cleaner and much more brighter (in the reception rooms)

The food...(swoon!) absolutely fabulous!!! The first time I tried it I couldn't believe it! Delicious! Try their Clam Chowder in the Cantina...YUM!

So for the Bride and Groom out there looking for a Wedding location and reception drop on by and visit this place!

Fast play, but maybe because it was a Monday at 1 pm. Played the East & South course in 2 1/2 hours, then finished off the North course before sunset. 27 holes for 30 bucks in 4 hours, no complaints, yet the course could use some work right now. Lots of bare areas from tee box, through fairway, to greens.

Most people come here and say things like " I hate this place! " or " What's with the dusty greens?" Not me. Royal Vista, sure its all hills and houses with a few busy streets, and mud puddles, but that's the beauty of the place. For a public course you can get in some quick rounds, with the best deal in the summer after 5pm for $20, if you can slam it out and avoid 8 shot bogeys, you'll pull out an 18 with sunlight to spare. The hills and rolling terrain make your game tight when you roll up to flatter courses, and you'll learn to play your irons like a G! Come on, try it I personally guarantee at least 4 strokes of your next game at a flat course after a month of play at the VISTA.

And now...for my 920th review...
Walter and I went to the golf course for a friend's graduation party. There was a short one hour period of which there was an open bar. Woo Hoo!! The directions to get there are a little tricky. But, the grounds are beautiful.  All the staff people are very friendly and very helpful.  I was amazed at their 27 or so holes. That's crazy. I didn't know that there were so many here. I was impressed, to say the least. If you are unable to find parking right away, upon arrival, go towards the back and you will find that there is what is called over flow parking. There are plenty of spots back there. The banquet areas are very spacious, as well as accommodating. There are handicapped ramps throughout the banquet area. The banquet and service staff were really great. Crystal was our server. There were a few guys in the buffet areas serving up some awesome roast beef. Yumm. They had an awesome sense of humor. It was a fun time. I have to say, the bartender didn't make the best drinks. But, then again there was only one of her and thousands of us, from what the line looked like. People went up to retrieve two or three drinks at a time and jumped back in line after dropping off their drinks at their seats. Some people, like our group, ended up with more drinks than food. Really, it was a fun time...at a beautiful location.

Played Royal Vista countless time. Course consists of three 9 hole courses. The courses have many elevated tees, so if you're looking to boost the ego, Royal Vista's for you. Not terribly difficult with a couple challenging par 3's including the east 3rd hole stretching to 180 yd to a 2-tier back to front green. Don't be long!

Maintenance can use some work and the wait on a weekend seems unnecessarily long. I wouldn't wait more than 20 min. to play here.

I don't know if you are aware but Los Angeles Royal Vista Golf Club is not a good neighbor--I live close to the golf course and my gardner and others must wear hard hats to do their job. As of today I have a broken window and the golf ball went thru the wood shutter and my car has a broken front windshield and that's just this week.  I'm amazed a person has not been seriously injured--nets should be put up to avoid a child or person getting hit with the 15 to 20 balls per day just at my place.
Golf course management states "sorry" it's your problem. When someone is injured then its a big problem but it will be too late. Can someone tell me the name of their owner or their attorney as I need to contact someone. They need to put up nets to protect so no one gets seriously injured. Please advise if you have any information to share.

Decent place to play.  Its nice that it does have 27 holes.  The conditions are average some of the holes are pretty long but overall its not too difficult of a course.  The price is reasonable also.
