My wife, who passed away in 1995, started going to the Los Altos Pharmacy in 60's - back when they had their store around the whole block. Now they have a smaller store, and the service is still great. Shannon, Bart ,and everybody there is great. I think part of it is how they pick the people that come to work there and how they are trained. I came in to ask for something the other day, and it was already done. Someone had anticipated that I might want that item and put it on the shelf for me - amazing. You won't get that at Walgreen's.
There are so many little things they do that I won't even mention here. Just go there and let them be your Pharmacy for a few months and see if you see a difference. And yes you will pay more for some things that you would at a discount place. What you get for that is everyone's expertise and the great service.

These guys are a compounding pharmacy -- very important when trying to chase down specific meds for a cat in renal failure who absolutely hates taking the peppermint-flavored phosphorus binders the vet prescribed.
The chicken-flavored version I got compounded was super pricey, FWIW. $36 for a 120-ml bottle, but hey, we do what we can to make our pets hate us a little less when we're treating them.
They do all their compounding on-site, unlike some other compounding pharmacies which actually send their stuff out (so you have a chance at same-day service here).
As should be obvious from "chicken-flavored," they do a lot of pet meds as well as human meds. Walking distance from Adobe, too.
