This was a special day to add to my summers! It's warm, relaxing and full of fun treats and gifts! They have a good selection of produce ( I like to support local and organic vendors)  In addition to produce, there's also stands with cheese, seafood, bread, baked goods, & other prepared food (including various ethnic foods--Russian, Indian, Mexican, Middle Eastern).

Went here once.  Haven't felt the need to go back.  When I lived in EC I was a twice a week Farmer's Marketer.  The food was amazing,  The prices were good.  The market was small and home towny.

This one is bigger.  The prices are ridiculously high.  A farmer friend of mine said that his farmer friends actually double their prices when they sell in Los Altos.  There are lots of non-farmers selling crafts and ready-made foods.  Also expensive.

That being said you're still getting mostly organic food directly from the farmer and that's good for the earth and good for you and good for the farmer.  I just wish I could afford to partake in all the goodness.

I love the idea of a weekday farmers' market instead of the traditional weekend event.  Parking is a little crazy.  There is a great selection, but I am most struck by the fact that most items cost more than at the Mountain View Farmers' Market.  This market only runs from May to September.

Almost the only farmers market I can make it to, since my local ones are mostly on weekdays and close early, or on weekends and uh... open too early.

This is Los Altos.. so it's pricier, but I still like it just for the experience.  Nothing like leisurely, outdoor shopping for delicious fresh vegetables and specialty foods on a warm summer night.   Some other perks include the occasional local wine booth (Ridge, Pelican Ranch...), and some lovely handmade jewelry vendors.

5/8/08 Update
2nd week of the Farmer's Market.  Cherries are just coming in, $4 a lb but so good.
-------------------------------------------

8/10 update
They have in season fruits and veggies but also prepared foods like BBQ corn, rotisserie chicken, empanadas, pizza, and crepes, baked potatoes, Indian food, frozen bananas, kettle corn, toffee, bread, sushi, fish, eggs, spreads.  Also more jewelry, lotion, candles, handbags and clothing vendors.  This trip, 2 bunches of white and fushia freesias, $6, 2lbs of plums, $4, 1 lb of red flame grapes, $1.5, 3lbs of freshly picked tomatoes, $6.  I would give it a 3.5 stars if I could.  Plus I got a sweet parking space, near the entrance!
---------------
I like that is it open late afternoon on Thursdays, 4-8pm and when tomatoes are in season, they have an excellent selection, even flavorful heirlooms.  I go just for the tomatoes and the cinnamon loaf and kettle corn.
Parking isn't too bad, in parking lots, parallel to the farmers market, behind the stores.
I don't think there are as many vendors as Mt. View's farmer's market on Sunday.
