In the center of Italian Williamsburg lies Nick & Sal's Lorimer Street Meat Market, a source for reliably good meat, friendly service, delivery, and very reasonable prices. The closing hours are a little unpredictable, although they're open until between 6 and 7, and tend to close early in the winter and later in the summer. The mozzarella here is wonderful: tangy and fresh. They'll also cut whatever you want from their ample selection, and they're a great stop for barbecues, as you can stock up on a lot of food for not all that much dough.
Lorimer Meat Market is my best "dirty little secret"
I totally pass their beautiful food off , as my own "homemade".
I am really happy that they have moved across the street , to a brand new clean, modernized location; but, still offer the same real old-school Italian and italian-american standards that they have been authentically preparing for decades. Fresh meats, homemade sausages, cheeses, and prepared foods. Plenty of healthy gorgeous choices to mix and match into a feast, but good as well for a hearty sandwich. Fair prices and good service. It's the real new york deal , here.
