Long trail just makes fantastic beers.  Even some of their beers that I don't particularly care for (blackberry wheat isn't my thing), I can still appreciate.  Double Bag is a classic, as is their IPA.  Their new "brewmaster series" DOUBLE IPA is basically doubly as good.

And as a nice bonus, they have a great restaurant there as well.  Nothing fancy - there's a "serve yourself " popcorn machine and a lot of picnic tables inside if that gives you any indication.  But the food is good and the service is very friendly - we got some nachos and split a burger, and they brought the burger to us already cut, in two baskets, each with a full serving of fries and a pickle.  Not a big deal, but a nice touch that was appreciated.

Go for the beer, stay for the food, take home some more beer, and buy a t-shirt or a bumper sticker or something else from the cool merchandise selection they have at their store!

This place is kind of like my Disney World. I absolutely love Long Trail beer, so when we went on vacation in Vermont last year I knew I had to go there. We were staying in Burlington, which was kind of far from where Long Trail is located, but we made sure to put aside a day specifically to go to the brewery. It's really cool because they let you check out the brewery & see where the beer is made. There's lots of cool stuff to buy, like shirts & glasses & bumper stickers (which I absolutely needed.) & then there's the restaurant. Serving a nice lunch menu, & of course, all their lovely beers. I really like that they had the sampler, explaining all the beers. I was also super excited to try my favorite Long Trail beer, Double Bag, on tap. It was a great experience, & eating a tastey lunch on a deck on a gorgeous river aint a bad way to spend your afternoon.

Had a great visit recently, so went back with my wife and Carrie spoiled our good time with her dismissive attitude.  Other staff great, food great.

This place was awesome!  We went here to see the brewery and lunch.  The lunch is from 11-6pm every day.  And the brewery is open from 10-7pm.  The menu is really good and everything is reasonably priced- around $9 a person.  I had a burger- best burger I had, not greasy at all!  Mark had a buffalo chicken sandwich- also delicious.  It had a kick but not so hot it burns your mouth out,  We each got a sampler flight of beers- they were all delicious, we ended up buying a six pack of the Double Bag Ale, not sold anywhere but there and close package stores.  They also sell shirts, glasses, golfballs, key chains etc... Fun place for the whole family actually!

You can't see much of the brewery because you go in upstairs and look over into it... its a self tour too.

This place is definately a party scene!

2nd stop on our brew tour.  we got here around 230ish and the place was packed! i mean it looked like a crowded bar scene on a Friday nite but this was Saturday afternoon!

You can try to get a table to eat here but I hear the wait is pretty long.
But while waiting , you can grab one of their samplers which is 6 bucks and try some beer.  You also get 2 free samples.

The beers here are pretty tasty- if you are lucky enough to try the Triple Bag- DO it!! this beer is soo amazing and awesome and a taste of chocolate goodness.  it is also 10% abv. grab a pitcher and have fun!

overall, Long Trail is pretty awesome.  I guess besides the skiing you can do here, the beer is excellent.

This place is great and even got me to eat while over-stuffed from the past 36 hours of Thanksgiving gorging.

Definitely get the 6x4oz sampler for $6; I liked the Blackberry Wheat, Hefeweizen, and Hibernator, and Belgian double-white (I had to ask for a sample of this before ordering a pint).  Jim liked the Double Bag the best.  We found the IPA too bitter, but that's normal.

They also have 4 beer sizes ranging from $3.50 (12oz) to $8 (32oz).

The wings were also really good; we had the half/half: traditional were good--not overly hot, but with some heat. The Yaki version was incredible--a honey-ginger-teriyaki version which was crisp and tender.  I ate more than I should have because they were so good.

I was disappointed that there was no Imperial Stout (my absolute favourite style) which the website stated as being on tap and which I was incredibly excited about (having first fallen in love with it at Goose Island); the site really needs to be updated more regularly.

Friendly service, great beer, tasty munchies, fun atmosphere. Tons of beer memorbilia.  If they have pulled pork the next time we go, we'll likely try that too!

Smokers have a heated fireplace out back if needed.

Absolutely worth visiting if you're going to Killington or otherwise passing by on the way to Burlington or wherever. It's right on the side of the highway and you can't miss it.
One star deducted for the half-assness of their brewery tour - it's simply a plexiglass enclosed catwalk above their factory floor. No guides, a couple unhelpful signs, not very informative or educational.
Four stars for everything else - they have a gift shop and a bar, of course, and a restaurant as well serving your standard pub fare. Good burgers, sandwiches, chili and nachos. It's awesome to sit out on their deck, hanging over a beautiful little creek, in the summer. Everything is vibrant and green, and you can stop here for lunch and have a burger and like seven beers before getting back behind the wheel and continuing on the road.

What's a trip to Killington without hitting the Longtrail Brewery?  If the weather is nice, sit on the deck on the back of the big warehouse type structure and enjoy the scenery.  Otherwise, stake your claim inside.

Generally, I am NOT a beer drinker-BUT- I really like DOUBLE BAG!  Plus, if you're a beer rookie, like me, you can order the muffin tin sampler.  6 small glasses of their current seasonal selection served in a muffin tin.  I'd liken this experience to a wine tasting.  I got an education on finer points of beer-making, the beertender made an educational presentation-and I found a number of brews that I truly enjoyed.

You can also grab a hearty sandwich and before you leave,  you can hit the gift stand to pick up a souvenir brew to bring home.  (Thankfully, now Wegman's carries Longtrail beer and their DOUBLE BAG!  So I can get a little taste of VT right here in Bingo!)

Very good place to hang out on a warm spring or summer day - the deck was pretty packed, but we got a table, some good service, a sampler and descent (but not great) food.  Prices were pretty good as well.  You can look at the brewery, but its not much of a tour (go to Harpoon for that), but otherwise a good experience.  If I were a local, I could see it being a place to go to kill a few hours every couple of weeks.

What a great place! My friend was showing me around town and we decided to go a little out of the way to Long Trail Brewery. We didn't know it would take so long to get there but it was worth it. Oh and if you would like you can actually hike a trail to the brewery yourself , hence the name.
When we arrived we had only a couple minutes left to order food. They only serve until 5. and they close at 6.
We ordered the World's Best Chili as stated on their menu and the beer sampler.
The chili was pretty good we were definitely satisfied but I haven't been around the world to say that it's the best.
The beer sampler was awesome, it had 6 different beers that they make at Long trail including the Blackbeary Wheat, hefeweizen, double bag, IPA, and a few others. The alcohol goes up a little with the sequence in which you drink. We were actually surprised that us serious drinkers were starting to get a buzz off of a "sampler" But it was fun, and the sampler comes in a muffin tin. So adorable.
At long trail they also have a display of different beers from across the united states with the cans or bottles from each company.
And a map where you can stick a pin in the location where you are from.
I ended leaving so happy from this place I bought a beer cozy and a shirt.
It was unfortunate to find out that they don't distribute outside of New England. The bartender said I would have to bug my distributor in my area for it. But the company itself does not ship directly from the brewery. BUMMER! It is a long trip out to Vermont from CAL but if you are in that neck of the woods it is a must see!

Been here twice on my way home from camping trips, when all you can think about is another cold delicious beer and something cooked somewhere other than on an open fire (and a shower!).

Had gorgeous weather both times I was here and was able to sit outside on the deck next to a babbling brook.  I love long trail beer, always have and always will, so not going to bother reviewing it.  You'll have to try it yourself.  It tastes of worryfree days.

Both times I've gotten a burger here and it's been crazy juicy and cooked the way I like, on a soft, plush bun with crunchy, crisp lettuce and tomatoes.  Mmmmmm . . .and they have those type of onion rings that are super lightly battered and slightly sweet.  yum!

Typical pub food for the most part, but it's a welcoming, friendly and peaceful environment that will eternally remind you that summer days are for relaxing, drinking beer, and spending time with friends.

Bonus-wet naps on table . . .you don't have to get up to wash your hands after said-juicy burger.  Score!

Oh how I miss ye, Double Bag and Blackberry Wheat...

I don't need to discuss the individual beers in detail [thanks Jay!], but I will say this is my favorite microbrewer of the New England area [I don't want to say all of the US because I haven't tried any brewers on the west coast...].

I was a Bennington student and, after turning 21, would make the hour drive up to the brewery just for the cheap cases of beer, great bar food, and sampler of all of their beers in order of light to dark.  You sit down, they bring you a big bowl of popcorn that you can refill as much as you want/need.

Their gift shop is pretty cool, too, if only because you can actually buy customized cases [aka, choose how many of each beer you want in your case].

And, best of all, they just made Blackberry Wheat a year-round beer!  That means I would be in heaven if I could only buy the stuff in Chicago...

All we had was their IPA, which was very light.  Not bad for a hot summer afternoon, but a little too light for a snowy evening apres ski. Good service.

Long trail offers a nice selection on their pub menu. Reasonable prices. The Brews are fresh and the atmosphere is great.
There is a "Self Guided" brewery tour as you can go up on the catwalk and see the operation. It's amazing how much the fit into a small space!
Stop in for some food and a sampler, There is a Gift shop as well.
No growlers, but 12 and 22 oz bottles are avaiable to go.

The Long Trail brewery is definitely one of the best I've been to.  It's nice to be able to sit outside by the river, get a burger, and drink some fresh beer.  The Double Bag will get you where you need to go.

Every time I've been here has been with lifelong 'best buddies for life' friends from Vermont where I (allegedly) grew up.  We meet here as the first leg of an orgy of eating, beer drinking, mtn biking, drinking, frisbee tapping, cribbage playing, eating, drinking, porch sitting, alumni parading hometown goodness.  The smile on friends faces, outside on the wood deck that over looks a trout stream and the views of the surrounding mountains on a sunny June day in the heart of Vermont with all that to look forward to are enough to make you want to stop time.  The food must be good , but I can't really remember...  Our young waitress is always hitting on us, or so we imagine after several pitchers of tasty long trail - and the mood is cemented.  Amber - the beer not the waitress - is my favorite.  Stay away from the Double Bag, unless you're in a big hurry to get completely hammered, which you should never ever be in a place like this.
