Longhorn Grill
1 review for Longhorn Grill
Possibly one of the most awesome examples of exterior decor for a bar-and-grill that I've ever seen, the Longhorn Grill is considered by many to be the premier example of Southwestern kitsch in rural Arizona.
The massive bovine skull-and-horns serves as an entryway which leads into a medium sized bar area. I've only been there during the day, but my sidekick tells me a crowd of regulars fills the place after work. Apparently they're fairly friendly, an despite the lack of nearby happenings, they're rarely at a loss for words.
The entrance to the restaurant is through the rear of the bar. Space is cheap out here, and the from the perspective of someone from San Francisco, the dining area was huge. The burger-and-fry selections contain more calories-per-plate that four entrees served at a Pacific Heights bistro, and the massive nacho plates are best split between several people. One of the guys in the bar vouched for the steaks, and my host for the weekend swears by their corned beef-on-rye sandwich.
Check it out if you're in the area. Tasty grub aside, it's a must-see that outdoes the Wall Drug Dinosaur ( http://www.walldrug.co... ) by a long-shot. And if you've got a camera, it's a great place to do the tourist thing....
