OK, let's start with the basics...

The employees were nice and the location (the lake itself) was nice but....

...price gouging is not my thing...

Campsite $33, we got a site with electricity (ok, that was nice), but if we had known that there was no per site maximum regarding people and cars, we would not have spent the additional $30 per night for a second campsite...

...let me rephrase that, there is only 1 car included in each reservation, and we weren't told about the $15 PER NIGHT extra car fee

In Summary...

Campsite $62 (we got an additional site, because of our larger sized group)

Extra car fees $30 (2 cars)

total six nights $492 (extra cars were only 4 nights)

wait...$500 for a weeks worth of camping...NOT!

It certainly wasn't luxurious, all our neighbors had 6 or more tents on one site! Some sites had as many cars as they had tents! Save your money and camp off site and just pay the day use and launch fee if you want to boat here. It's  WAY over crowded on weekends, and the lake is not that big, given all the boat traffic!

Anyway, we were thoroughly disappointed, but as we were told, "That's how the owners make money"...too bad they won't get any more of ours...ok, I'm done ranting!

We stayed at Long Ravine camprgound at Rollins Lake because we were invited by friends.  We were able to reserve a lake front campsite for $29 per night.  The site had a view of the lake, but also of the other 6 campsites cramped into a very small area.  We were lucky to have room for a two tents.

The grounds are privately owned, so they tout strict enforcement of the rules.  I am by no means a quiet person camping, I enjoy sitting around the campfire and playing music etc, but the neighboring campers were up past 3 am both nights.

On the positive side, there are free showers and flush toliets.  All in all, I would rather spend less money per night for more room and privacy and to support our national parks.
