Now that I'm in Chicago, I'm falling in love with Long Grove Confectionery... Hope this doesn't constitute a betrayal to See's or Godiva. (what can I say...I love them all!)
Their Irish mint chocolates are excellent. So are their caramel apples, chocolate-covered fruits, chocolate-scented candles...the list is endless. Their nuts and sugar-free sweets aren't so bad, either. Over all, they make wonderful gifts - artfully boxed or bagged.
I particularly like this shop because of the people, though I partly blame them for my addiction because they never fail to introduce me to something new. No more low-carb diet for me!
Best peanut butter cups ever! Seriously, these are what dreams are made of. I have heard that their other treats are good as well but I can't seem to avoid getting the perfectly sweet yet savory peanut filling nestled in a thick, rich chocolate cup. Long Grove also has some funny chocolate gift items such as a chocolate pizza or tool kit etc.
Worth a trip - delicious!
